Cutie Mark:  The cutie mark possessed by Nova Burst comes in three parts, for there are three symbols. One of these is a wrench, another is a set of gears, and the last is an explosion. 
History:

 

Born to Earth Ponies,  Nova had no training in the arts of a Unicorn because his parents didn't believe he was powerful enough to warrant such training.  Over the years, his power continued to grow. Sometimes there would be bursts of uncontrolled power, like when he was about a colt, and his power exploded outward accidentally demolishing the house of his parents.  Due to the uncontrollable bursts of energy, they demanded he sleep outside. So he did.  After weeks of sleeping on the cold ground, and having nightmares of his power going haywire even worse, Nova made up his mind. Some bits were packed, as was enough food for a week. 

 

Galloping away, Nova went all the way to an abandoned scrapyard. It was there that his cutie mark would manifest itself. Alone in the Scrapyard,  Nova found a black binder of sorts that had all sorts of sketches for potential innovations inside it.  His first attempt to replicate one of them, which was a device that could drain energy out of a Unicorn Horn was less than successful, and ended up blasting him to the other side of the dump.  His second attempt wasn't much better, because he'd never been actually educated in how to invent stuff properly.  It was at this moment that his cutie mark appeared. 

 

Several more weeks passed, and finally Nova completed his first successful innovation, a cover for his horn to prevent surges of his power like the one that had blown up his house.  There was just one small problem, namely that the cover didn't really solve the problem but merely caused the energy to build inside, meaning when he removed it the explosions would be worse. 

 

The next invention was a steam-and horn powered RV of sorts that couldn't go too fast, but he could live in, and travel.  Eventually when he sold the idea for a modified version of his R.V. to two certain Unicorns, Nova made an effort to reconcile with his family.  Even though he's reconciled, he's traveling alone so that he doesn't blow up anyone's property, and he's trying to get a grip on his powers. 

 

 

 

 

Character Summary:

 

Constantly thinking up new ideas, Nova can almost always be seen with blueprints floating around him. Typically Nova hates the ponies who consider themselves all high and mighty, most of the royal ones in Canterlot included. But he knows that without their money, he couldn't build half the stuff he plans to, so he puts up for them. Honestly, he's more comfortable with Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi who are not arrogant.   Nova is also one who can constantly be seen tinkering, even when he's engaged in conversation with ponies, he's constantly tinkering to use the energy from his horn up more quickly.  Nova typically tries to keep to himself when not working on projects so as to avoid any potential mis-fires that his horn can generate. Nova also believes relying on the Elements of Harmony for the Fate of Equestria every time is somewhat pointless, as they'll die eventually and the world will be thrust into chaos. That is one of the reasons he's constantly inventing, as he's trying to build devices that could help combat threats to Equestria.

Hello!  Friendly neighborhood RP helper Rackenhammer here; I'll be your guide through the application process.

 

We're certainly glad your interested in WoE!  This setting is geared for slice-of-life style RP's, therefore we tend to look for more detail about a pony's character, personality, and quirks rather than their abilities.  We generally look for at least one paragraph in the character summary section for this reason; tell us about Nova!  We want to know this guy.

 

If you're having trouble coming up with stuff to write, here are some questions to think about that might help:  what sort of ponies does he like, and which does he try to avoid?  What sort of impression does he want to leave on those who see him?  What does he ask from the world, and what does he propose to give it?  

 

 

As for the history itself, we generally try to avoid the sort of "no parents" cliche; the setting really isn't geared for that sort of thing.  There's no reason why Nova's parents couldn't both be Earth Ponies, we've seen similar things happen in the show.

Alright, I'm glad to see Nova be fleshed out more!

 

From what I'm seeing though, from his motivations and abilities, Nova seems more suited for adventure-type Role Playing than Slice-of-life.  You may want to post this application to Canterlot Chronicles, as it won't require so many changes to fit in with the tone of the setting, and you'll be able to get more easily into the kinds of threads where this character can really shine!

 

Even so, I think having him be a great inventor, powerful magician, and miraculous healer all at once is somewhat OP.  I'd buy a natural talent in one, and learned skill in the second, but that kind of proficiency in all three is a little much.

Ok, the info you just posted along with the story of how he came about the mark needs to be in the cutie mark or history section. There are a bit of more detailed requirements for a character to be WoE ready. Let me know when you've made an update and I'll take a look.
