Penumbra Posted December 1, 2011 Report Share Posted December 1, 2011 FUNNY ENOUGH, today I was pondering making just such a proposition to you, my dear Penby.To a couple of ponies in this thread, actually.WE SHOULD CARRY OUR DEMENTED, MANIC, LOVE FULLED, HATE ENRICHED EMPIRE TO THE ROLEPLAY SECTION.I've already made one such attempt... BUT EVERYONE HATED ME, BECAUSE I WAS ON A TOTALLY HIGHER LEVEL THEN THEM.Also, because I rushed my application...BUT I've been pulling together seven new apps for seven new ponies.I would've applied much sooner but... Sulvuss Posted December 1, 2011 Report Share Posted December 1, 2011 Typograghy is boring and the majority of people don't pay attention to sans and seriff.However typograghy while boring is very interesting when used correctly, especially when utilize in an artistic way. There are few who appreciate the curves and use of texts enough to really be bothered by slight details like that as they are more inerested in the content itself.Although I've seen some very creative and wonderful pictures that have been produced by typograghery artist before. In books, most people just want to be able to read it, beyond that they don't care.I am not a big fan of typgraghery my self, I took a few lessons in it but it never really sticked too heavily...but I do appreciate good forms of expression. If something is well done then it normally dosen't matter what genre its in.The only art I would never like is more social commentary objects-I.E: The pile of sun flower seeds that represents water in japan..or something like that-Just..its clever but...why should I care, It just dosen't feel like they want me to care..it just feels like it trying to peak my curiosity but theres no positive reinforcement to make you look it up(because these objects mean nothing without the facts behind them), only negative-because most people look at this stuff and get tiffed thats its called art-But I digress. I am hardly in a position to really disagree with forms of art. I am just a humble man who like to occasinoally write things and draw a little. Link to comment
