Character Summary:

NoteRinger is a mare who was born in the marvelous city of Canterlot. She grew up around very fancy ponies, but always stuck out. There was something, well different about her. She seemed to enjoy music that nobody she knew listened to, acted quite less "civilized" than the rest of the ponies her age, and had a severe lack of self confidence. She spent her first years years in Canterlot, always feeling left out and alone. Eventually, NoteRinger left her home in Canterlot as a filly to pursue what she thought was best for her life, where she didn't have to abide under any strict social codes, or conform to anyone else's ideas of what the perfect pony was.

Apon her travels she met a young filly named MirrorCrecent, who was much like her in many ways. They both acted differently from the rest of the "normal" groups of ponies, and felt strong satisfaction while listening to music. Apon hearing about NoteRinger's situation(being a homeless little filly and all), she begged and pleaded to her parents to let her stay with them. Unable to refuse the look that the cute little red filly flashed them at that moment, they agreed to become her foster parents.

MirrorCrecent's parents were really generous and kind people. The cleared out a room for NoteRinger and treated her as their own daughter. NoteRinger thought she would love it here.

NoteRinger was eventually put into a school so she would be able to continue her education. However, most of the time she came home very upset, often locking herself in her room for hours at a time. NoteRinger was far too trusting, and had a very low self confidence, and was often tricked into doing horrible things. She hated school. Her grades were always terrible, and worst yet, she still had no cutey mark, just making her tormentation at school even worse. Remarks of a "blank flank" and "that stupid filly" brought her down lower and lower each day. Eventually she became a loner, and dreaded waking up each mourning. The only thing that kept her going each day was her few remaining friends that tried their best to brighten her otherwise gloomy days. She decided that she would try to tough it out, and not let the terrible Fillies at school bring her down. She knew one day she would prove those bullies wrong.

MirrorCrecent's parents were referred to by many as "Hippie ponies", and happened to be into all the music that NoteRinger loved, especially Glam Metal. One day, after a particularly bad day at school, NoteRinger came home looking worse than she ever had. She didn't say a thing to her "parents" and just locked herself in her room all day. MirrorCrescent's parents felt incredibly bad for the young filly, and just wanted her to be happy. They ended up coming up with an idea. The next day, coming home after school, NoteRinger was greeted by a set of 4 tickets. 4 tickets, to a Van Colten Concert. Immediately all NoteRinger's worries were flushed away. She had never been ton a concert before! this would be so much fun!

NoteRinger had never seen such a wonderful thing! This was the most fun she had ever had in her life. All the pain she suffered throughout her days were completely gone here. She was free from all worries. Then this is where she discovered the most amazing thing that she had ever laid her eyes on; the guitar. Up on stage the amazingly talented Eddie Van Colten was meticulousness picking away and playing along to one of their many famous ballads. The way it looked, the way it sounded, the way it made her feel. She loved everything about it. She knew one day she would be a guitarist.

On her birthday, a year later, her surrogate family bought her a surprise: an acoustic guitar, nothing too fancy, but for NoteRinger it was the best present she had ever received. NoteRinger played it and played it and never put it down. But that's not all she got, she was also given an odd guitar lesson book, that looked quite old, made specifically for unicorns. It looked quite rare, and wondered where they found such a book. From this book she learned special techniques, such as using her unicorn magic to make playing much easier (being that playing guitar with hoofs wasn't really the easiest thing in the world).. Unfortunately, she wouldn't be able to try out most of these spells yet, not having an electric guitar, which was needed to channel the magic energy correctly. But she was still able to implement a few (better note strumming, more accurate hoof placement, pitch bending, etc. etc.). Eventually she got really good. All of her friends would always complement her on her abilities, but she was oblivious to her talent, and thought that she was bad, that is until one day:

A local band, by the name of The Atomic Colts, was auditioning for a new guitarist. NoteRinger was pushed into the audition by her friends, who hoped it would give her a little self confidence boost. But NoteRinger never thought she had a chance. She had never played in front of anyone but her friends before. She thought she would never make it...but her friends made sure she went anyways....

She had recently picked up a new guitar, with money she earned working for her surrogate family's herb store. It was a marvelous, champagne colored electric. It was her first time even using the electric, she was saving it for a special occasion (and this seemed special enough), so she was quite nervous. She got up on the little stage they had set up for the ponies who wanted to audition. She looked so nervous. But she was able to calm herself down. She used everything she learned in the books, and it worked! The guitar "powered up" and the sounds that came out of it were just phenomenal! She started to strum a melody, and eventually worked her way up to "shredding" and jamming as loud and proud as she could. The way she played, her speed, her technique, her magical abilities and her heart, all astonished the members of the band. They have never seen a mare like herself shred out on the guitar so, perfectly, and know all of these odd spells that not even the likes of Eddie Van Colten knew about. Needless to say she got the job. This is when she finally realized her special talent, guitar playing, and her cutie mark finally appeared: a Small acoustic guitar, much like the one she got on her birthday.

With NoteRinger's help, "The Atomic Colts" skyrocketed into local fame, thus bringing about the second wave of Glam Metal across PonyVille, and its neighboring towns. They were living out their dream, and NoteRinger was finally happy. She was finally able to prove to those bullies that she wasn't just a stupid ol' filly.

Life couldn't get better. (or so she thought).

Fast forward a couple of years.

The band, Van Colten, was touring in PonyVille, and The Atomic Colts just happened to be their opener. The Atomic Colts played with all their hearts, they were looking really good. Then the guitar solo kicked in, and NoteRinger was center stage. The crowd was roaring! She had never felt so proud and happy in her entire life. Her hooves glided over the neck of the guitar, so smoothly, and naturally. Their song ended, and the crowd was cheering so loud you could swear there was an earthquake going on a couple towns over.

Van Colten was so impressed by The Atomic Colts style, that they schelduled The Atomic Colts for the rest of the tour with them. Only instead of just being an opener, the Atomic Colts played half the concert! They even got their band's name on the tickets and signs! "Van Colten and The Atomic Colts" But it would soon get even better for NoteRinger.

Eddie Van Colten himself, offered NoteRinger his place in the band for the final night of the tour. She was so honored, but incredibley nervous of course, it was her idol. But this would now mean she was playing with the band that she looked up to, the band that helped her realize her special talent, she couldn't believe it! Was it a dream? She went on stage with the band, and it just felt so natural. The show was a hit. The fans were cheering wildly! Eventually though, the show eneded, but not before Eddie Van Colten came on stage, and presented to NoteRinger with his guitar, the famous FrankenStrat that was synonymous with Glam Metal. The band members all hugged her and cheered her on. NoteRinger was living her dream. Life couldn't be better.

She still lives out her life in ponyville. Happy, and proud.

I love the application!

The only thing I can see wrong is, the My Little Pony world is not very advanced, as far as power.

This being said, when she tried out for The Atomic Colts, she used a eletric guitar, but with Equestria being in early times, there would be no eletricity. Of course this could be instead be powered magiclly as a simple fix.

Other then that, this is a great application :)

I wondered about that myself. But if you listen to the "cutie mark crusader's" song that they did in the talent show, there is clearly an electric guitar being played in the song :)

So i hoped that maybe just maybe it was possible in this world XD

I see no reason why the electric guitar would and could not exist. It's been around since the 30's our time, and was an essential element in the old jazz movement. If cranes, electric lights, steam engines and microphones can exist, I see no reason why an electric guitar cannot. :D

Also, love the app. :3 Greatness, there.

OH JEEZE. i forgot when the electric guitar was made XD. and if we think of the timing of pony world vs our world, does pony world electronically kinda relate to a little after the 30s anyways?

Well anyways if there is a porblem, i can always say my unicorn magic powers it XD

also thanks for the compliment, i really appreciate it :)

As far as we know there is no wide-scale electricity. That being said there is no reason not to have magical powered "electric" guitars. DJ-PON-3 has turntables, something that didn't exist much more than 30 years ago in the real world. How does she power them? Magic. Probably her own special talent in unicorn magic, although magically charged by another source could also be true.

As Note Ringer is a unicorn, this is made all the easier. It could be that her magic is oriented around her special talent, guitar playing, so it's special ability is charging such instruments, allowing her to play them (if you want to go further, you can have the magic from her horn help play the much, adjust pitch, volume, and so forth).

A couple more suggestions for this app. One, does she still have a relationship of any kind with her parents? It seems she ran away from home as a filly and that is the last we heard about her natural family. Did her parents try to find her? What is life like between them now? My other suggestion is to deepen the character some. We see her abilities and her successes, but no real flaws or worries, which provides less plot hooks and less RP options; flaws also keep the characters from floating towards dangerous Mary Sue territory. Anyway, those are my only real suggestions, other than that the app looks fine so far.

Well it's good (in my opinion of course now).

I removed mention of her real parents, as tbh, I'd rather have the story behind her past to be revealed in RP's, instead of just being all constricted to the APP. I hope this is not a problem :)

Revealing the story of her past in RP is just fine. :)

But NoteRinger never thought she had a chance. She was a young mare after all, and there were no mare guitarists in all of Equestria!

This should be taken out, as it would accidentally restrict any other guitar playing ponies to males only and we can't allow that (I know there are a couple other guitar related ponies in the RP, their current gender escapes me). Plus it wouldn't make sense in world where "girl power" is such a major canon theme. She can still think she didn't have a chance, perhaps she has a confidence issue, or stage fright of some kind (or another flaw, as character flaws are a good thing) that made her question having any chance until she tried.

Well I didn't mean it literally...like an over exageration, being that even out of the pony world the guitar tends to be considered a male dominated instrument.

I'm gonna go ahead and change it again then.

You can remove [unicorn] from the title since the tag is already there. Have you gone ahead and updated what brianblackberry commented about?

Oh okay, I'll go ahead and remove that then, hehe. Also yes I did fix the things biranblackberry wanted me to fix.

P.S umm...how do I change my thread title?
