Hi everypony! Since I'm sitting at work almost every day just having a great time, I thought I'd ask what you ponies do for work! The more work experience you want to share the better, because who doesn't like doing all sorts of fun things?! I'll share all my jobs, because each one has been super duper fun! Don't let me stop you from sharing any lessons you learned either, you can go full Twilight if you want!

Targe Food Avenue- An EoL Pinkie's dream! I got to run around in an apron making food for everypony, and I got to eat all I wanted! Cookies, pizza, Taco Bell stuff, pretzels, chips, Rice Krispies treats... so much fun!

Engineering Firm Intern- I don't have the attention span for smarty pants stuff. I got in trouble for falling asleep in the middle of the office... I did get to design someone's kitchen though!

Fry's Electronics Cafe Barista- I got to make food and fancy drinks! I created the Sugar Rush milkshake here, and everypony wanted one!

Spaghetti Warehouse Waitstaff- Lots of fun, but not everypony is nice to you there. I enjoyed playing with the little fillies and colts out on the town though, I gave them balloons!

Sears Customer Service Consultant- I fixed everypony's problems by running around a store. What's more fun than that?! I also set off fireworks on the patio, had a cardboard war with everypony in the department, and bought an Iron Man toy to shoot customers when they weren't looking. My boss had a love/hate relationship with me!

Gamestop- That's right, this Pinkie got the job everyone wants :D I was hired when they weren't hiring just because I'd come in and help them restock even though I didn't work there! Woo power of friendship!

Best Buy Computer Sales- Still wasn't a smarty pants pony, so the customers knew more about the fancy machines than I did. I could read the tags though and pretend to be smart, and everypony still enjoyed my customer service!

University Housing- A job all about talking with ponies and solving their problems. I'm getting good at this!

Banking- Where I'm sitting now! So many great ponies to be around, and I get to talk with everypony here at Canterlot most of the day!

I guess you could call me a bit of an expert on customer service, since when I was itty-bitty I was taught to make everypony smile no matter what problem they have!

We had a thread about jobs, way back then, during the prehistoric era three or four pages ago.

http://www.canterlot.com/topic/3432-jobs/

I wish I was as good with people as you EoL. It would have helped me so much !

As for me, I'm a pastry chef, I make all kind of food, like éclairs, or croissants. It's a fun job but a tough one.

I study stage design for theatre.

People keep assuming because I design plumbing systems that I can help them install one. Silly peoples! I'm an engineer. I can't to anything practical.

That applies to me, too, funnily enough, just replace "plumbing system" with "theatre stages". XD

I'm kind of a job-hopper because I get bored with my job easily.

My employment history....

Bonanza Family restaurant: Worked there as soon as I was able to work (@ 15yrs old) Loved it. Learned every job there by the time I was 17. Quit due to stupid reasons and the peer pressure to skip work in college.

Kohl's: FFFFFF....I hated this job. So much. I never regretted quitting so much as when I worked there during college. My grades dropped, my mind was numb, and everyone there was a total duche. I quit by not showing up for work. They didn't notice for the first FOUR HOURS of my shift.

College cafeteria: Loved it. It was fun, the old lunch ladies were awesome. Quit due to exhaustion. I had two jobs and a FT student status. I was dying.

K-Mart: .....*sigh* Worked there for like two months. In the summer. They had a broken air conditioning system and refused to fix it, despite the fact that two employees and a customer had passed out from the heat.

Bonanza: They took me back! Worked there till I left my home town for a new city. Loved it, felt terrible for leaving, and they understood, and took me back. LOVED IT. Was very sad to leave when I moved.

Sleep INN: UGGGHHH. I hated hotel work. Hated it. I was a front desk attendant, but I had the night shift so all I did was LAUNDRY LAUNDRY LAUNDRY because they were too effin' cheap to hire laundry staff. -_-' I was fired because I didn't do enough laundry. I did not care.

Cognosante customer service reps: Current job! :3 I love it! i sit and play on Canterlot all day while (occasionally) answering phones for really unintelligent doctors! I know, right? You'd think doctors would be smart! But it turns out, 99.6% of them are completely computer illiterate! :D I assist them in...computer brain how to do stuff. XD lol. I'm working right now, believe it or not! >3< I get paid to play on Canterlot! HUZZAH!

My main source of income right now is McDonald's.

True story: A guy asked me how many nuggets are in the 10-piece. He believed me when I said nine.

But I also work as a freelance content writer for a couple of websites. That's a cool job, because I set my own pace and don't have to leave my house to do it.

how many of you guys count your nuggets? I usually get N+1 or better. I find it thought provoking.

I'm only 15, so I don't have a "real" job, but I do work around our farm every day. What better experiene than real physical work? I'm not really a person to live in the country, because I LOVE technology, but it is quite peaceful out here.

I'm skilled in Computers, and how to build them, fix them, and pretty much clean your system, assuming you're on Windows. I've helped some people, but i've never generated any money from it. Usually, a smile and a "thanks" is good enough for me.

I like the "idea" of working at GameStop, but it just seems boring whenever you go in to one and see what the employees are up to. So I'd rather have a job in something like WIndows technical support, or physically fixing computers for people.

I'm a scorekeeper for a womens hockey league. i do pretty good. 15 bucks a game, 6 games a week =$90. also i could do more or less games a week so anywhere from $60 to $120+ . not bad for an easy job.

What is the craziest score you have ever seen? I attended a game in which the home team won 42-3. That would have been a high scoring for a football game...

When the away team scored their first goal, the entire stadium erupted into a standing ovation for them.

I love the words that have a specific meaning to most people, and something different to a small subset of them.

I suspect that when most people hear the word "penthouse" they picture the luxury apartment at the top of a high rise. I picture the enclosures on the tops of commercial buildings that have lots of cool mechanical equipment inside.

What words did you relearn in your jobs?

I was a carrier for two different newspaper. One, which was Saturday only, I started in the summer before 6th grade and kept for the most part until I graduated high school. I had "quit" for a few months in which I actually ended up substituting for the new guy a couple of weekends and he ultimate quit and I just picked up again, lol. At that time, I had started a working for a daily newspaper. I can't remember when exactly I started, it was probably 9th or 10th grade. About halfway through that daily route, a friend of mine who also had a route for the same paper offered his route to me so I ended up taking two daily routes and an extra Saturday-only route for the last two or three years of high school. I will definitely be taking up a paper route again next chance I get - I for one like getting paid for waking up early for a bike ride before sunrise (as sarcastic as that sounds, I'm being serious xP). Also during my high school years, I kinda became the unofficial handyman for my church. My dad ran the soundboard and was the general tech support guy during the services so after my parents divorced and he moved away, I took over. Then people started asking for help with lawn work, moving stuff, setting up fences, installing insulation in garages, whatever else, and then it just took off from there and even people outside of the church started "hiring" me for stuff like farmwork.

So I only worked odd jobs until after I graduated high school. Now I'm an enlisted member of the US Navy working as a Logistics Specialist. At the moment, it's not something I'm thinking of sticking with. I certainly don't have the passion my First Classes and Chiefs do anyway. I'm planning on practicing as much as I can with drawing cartoons and learning as much as I can about them over the next year or so to see if it's something I'd be able to commit myself to. I've drawn cartoons for as long as I can remember and like doing it, but never considered making it a career until I started watching more cartoons over the past year. So while I'm still in the Navy, I'm gonna see if I can start making serious strides toward it and if I find that I can work considerably harder at it and like it, I'll probably leave the Navy when my contract's up and go for a degree in animation or something. Another option I've been thinking about for years is going into accounting, which I've been interested in since I was introduced to it in high school (I'll probably go with this if I decide not to go with animation), or possibly start up my own business (probably a gaming store or something). One I considered briefly was education, but I'm not so sure about it. Yeah, I'm juggling a lot of ideas and haven't exactly decided on just one yet - just leaning back and forth between them all, lol. I should probably have a more solid idea of what I want to do considering I'm out of high school already. xP
