What to Parody Next?

Hey there everypony. Some heard my song "Brony and I Know It" that I did a couple of days ago, and was wondering what song you think I should parody next? I'll have a list below with songs that I've thought of so far and what you ponies suggest. You can also give an idea of what it can be about. I may change it, but I might just keep it. I didn't post this in the music showcase, only because it isn't entirely music, and I'd be showing off each song individually in the showcase with lyrics and such, rather than changing this all the time.

Songs being worked on:

Trixie (Roxie from the musical Chicago) / [lyrics rewritten / Hopefully recording soon]

Party like Pinkie (Yacht Club by Owl City) / [lyrics done / recording this week]

Just Haven't Watched it Yet (Just Haven't Met You Yet by Michael Buble) / [lyrics gotten / will be working on them tomorrow hopefully]

List of Songs (more to be added if I think of some, or anypony suggests one):

Ideas I've listed:

Party in the USA (Wedding in Equestria)

Ideas weesh listed:

Run DMC - "It's Tricky" to "It's Pinkie"

Gotye - Somepony that I used to know

Destiny's Child - Independent Pony

Coldplay's Viva la Vida (I hear Equestria bells a ringing...)

Oasis' Wonderwall (Wonderbolts)

The XX's Crystallize (Chrysalis)

Michael Jackson's Billy Jean (Substitute 3-syllable pony name)

An old fashioned love song (coming down in three part harmony -> elements of harmony)

Beyonce's Single Ladies (Single Ponies)

Cranberries' Zombie (in your head, in your head, ponies, ponies, ponies...)

Bee Gees Tragedy (Rarity)

Linkin Park's Iridescent (Opalescence)

Beatles - Twist and Shout (Snips and Snails)

Beatles - Lady Madonna (Lady Celestia)

Ideas others listed:

The Donnas - Blank Flank in school (New kid in school)

The Village People - YMCA

They are added to the list. I've never heard these songs in my life XD so I will be looking them up and starting the lyrics soon. I know I'm working on mine first, but I will work every once and a while on others' ideas. No guarantees all will be used, but if I do use them, I will post little updates on how each song is doing.

Your plan is to do most if not all of them?! I was just trying to help you brainstorm. I wasn't expecting you to use any of mine. The hope was that some ideas might remind you of something interesting that would lead to a good idea.

The same goes for these:

Coldplay's Viva la Vida (I hear Equestria bells a ringing...)

Oasis' Wonderwall (Wonderbolts)

The XX's Crystallize (Chrysalis)

Michael Jackson's Billy Jean (Substitute 3-syllable pony name)

An old fashioned love song (coming down in three part harmony -> elements of harmony)

Beyonce's Single Ladies (Single Ponies)

Cranberries' Zombie (in your head, in your head, ponies, ponies, ponies...)

Bee Gees Tragedy (Rarity)

Linkin Park's Iridescent (Opalescence)

HAHAHA!

I either just caused you a heart attack, or allowed to you relax since I can come up with these way faster than you can produce them!

Hahahahaha. I am literally smiling the biggest smile ever :D

I am putting them all in the list, just to have a master list of what songs have been suggested. I eventually will try and do all of them, but only one step at a time ^-^ I'll need to find karaoke files for all these songs, but that isn't too hard.

Most songs, I don't know, mainly cause when I grew up, I listened to Weird Al. He's the inspiration behind me writing parodies :) but it is a plan to finish the parody list. It will take a lot of time, and once I start college again, I'll be dragged down on not having as much time, but I do plan on doing this.

IT IS MY DESTINY!

Not really of course, but I do love singing parodies. I got a knack for them :)

Also, all might not be released on YouTube like my first song, only because my parody got flagged as the real song, so some might just be exclusive here or I might find another way to post them.

Diamonds are a girls best friend (Diamonds are a mare's best friend)

Hoobastank's Running Away (The Last Round Up themed, same title)

Stand back everyone! I'm about to be Brilliant!

U2's Vertigo (Windigos)

Ok...I might have over hyped that one.

And by brilliant, I mean I typed "vertigo" into Rhymezone.com and they spit out windigo

All such good ideas, but none I've ever heard of.

Ooooooooookay.

I'm beginning to see why you needed suggestions : )

Perhaps you should listen to the radio more? And not just one station. Lots of stations.

Here are some classics:

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Comfortably Dumb, Derpy theme)

Beatles - Twist and Shout (Snips and Snails)

Beatles - Lady Madonna (Lady Celestia)

Elton John - Your Song (...and you can tell everypony, that you belong..., Twilight themed)

It's not that I don't know most songs people talk about, it's also I sometimes have trouble coming up with a starting idea. I know some a good selection of songs, but I just have some trouble starting the parody process, because once I start it, I never go back to the original songs again @-@

Not entirely appropriate for kids, but I was thinking about the song Roxie from the musical Chicago, but as a parody called Trixie. I would also help you write it, and volunteer to sing. Possibly on that second bit.

I've been told I do an excellent Trixie, however my singing skills may be lacking.

I put both songs in the list. If it is an inappropriate song, I will make it kid friendly :)

As for singing and providing a voice, it is a possibility, but it's something I've never done before. I've always worked alone, but I'm willing to give it a try. Just as a warning though, if I did do something like that, I might be bugging out often if something doesn't sound right or needs to be redone. @-@

Hahahahaha. Well, I'm going to take it one step at a time. Since MyLittlePonyTales asked first, I'm going to try this test run with her for her singing and seeing if I can use other singers for songs. If I figure out how to do that, I could as for possibly duets or what not. Who knows. Only time can tell. :)

Also, of course, I know I said I'll do my best to do them all, but some ideas might be scrapped, just because I don't know entirely how much I can change it. For example, Lady Madonna was requested, and the parody title could have been "Lady Celestia." Only problem is that they syllables don't match. Madonna has 3 while Celestia has 4. I probably will do it, but as Rarity, which also has 3 syllables. Some might be scrapped, but most will be used. Just a for warning if you suggested an idea and it doesn't get done.

I also added a list above the suggestions, stating what songs I'm working on.

If you listen to that song, you will realize that singing "lady Rarity" will be a huge stretch. Whereas "la-dy Se-less-cha" can be neatly molded into the correct number of syllables and sounds with minimal stretch and will still be recognizable. I certainly wouldn't try to sing it as Ce-les-ti-a. I did try all the three syllable names first.

Of course, I wouldn't be disappointed if you ignored that one completely. I think you are going about this the wrong way. Better would be to spend a few minutes on lots of different songs to see if inspiration strikes and then invest your time in the golden ones. Some of them, like "Tragedy", are probably worth a laugh at the idea, and then moving on. I mean, are you really interested in doing a falsetto disco tribute to Rarity? <--I'm sure I am the first person in the world to ever type or say that sentence.

Destiny's Child - Bootylicious (Owloysius)

Queen - Flash (Dash) Whoa. Talk about a song that writes itself...

Billy Joel - Captain Jack (Applejack) This is a joke for those of you who know the song. Don't actually do this one. If you don't get the joke, it will still be funny if you go listen to the song now. And by funny I mean horrifying.

Sorry for disappearing off the face of the earth. So much on my mind and I somewhat forgot about this forum @-@ I know. It's pretty bad of me for doing that. But I have been busy with some audio stuff. Lyrics are done with Trixie and I am working on (almost finished with lyrics) for an Owl City Parody, and soon starting on a Michael Buble parody. If everything goes according to plan, they'd be done by the weeks end. In the meantime, I'm getting (hopefully) and album art for all of these, done by a good friend of mine. But anyways, I'm still doing parodies, but I also did take a look at some of the suggestions that were given. Some of them, I might not be able to do at all, only because I don't have that voice to do it (such as "Rarity," parody of "Tragedy"). I'll do my best for some of them, but I might not do songs that have been done too much already, such as "Somebody I used to know." That has already about 4 parodies of it that are pony related just by looking. And if there is no way I can really make a parody out of it, I'll be taking it off the list. :\ I know it sounds a little stricter, but there are some songs that I just either don't have the voice for, or it just doesn't cut out to be parody material @-@

There are a couple songs that seem good parody material, but (no offense to you Weesh) sometimes just minor suggestions to lyrics might not be helpful to me :\ I mean no offense at all to anypony. I'll do my best to do most of them, or something like it, but I might not be able to do it all. Or at least make it pony related.

I'm surprised that you still think that discarding my half-baked suggestions might annoy, or worse, offend me. I was amused simply coming up with the ideas. Hopefully there is a gem or two in there that really excite you, but if there isn't that is ok too.

No pressure.

Be sure to let us know as you finish any of them!

As I have mentioned, I plan on finishing 2 songs this week before camping. They are my own ideas, yes, but while I'm camping, if I have off time in a lazy afternoon, I'll try and rig my tethering up and I might work on some lyrics. That's a maybe XD
