  1. Oh, no, I'm not scolding, Neo. Just putting that out there for future reference. I understand there isn't always a chance to actually bug a staff member with a question.
  2. If you're not sure of something, asking a staff member is always a good idea.
  3. Your style is awful cute, Mystik.
  4. Yes, your member title will change based on your post count. There are some of us that mods and admins have decided to put custom member titles on, but the mods and admins do that at their own discretion Rosewind and Dio are especially fond of putting member titles on people. You never know when yours might change suddenly to something you weren't expecting!
  5. Even if they move on to different places, they're the type of friends that would still get together once a month, at minimum, to have lunch and catch up. They'd take turns paying. They'd make jokes and sit around talking for hours, and they won't want to say goodbye at the end of the day.
  6. I'm afraid the list stops at Neo! That's my five slots, all full. I'll post here again when I've got open slots, so keep an eye out. >w0
  7. I've added Moondancer and Duskfall to my queue. SpringWheat, of course you can ask for one! Just leave me a physical description of the character you want, or a reference pic.
  8. So basically, I was going through my collection of pixel ponies, thinking to myself, "hey, these are pretty good. I mean, I could use some more practice, but they aren't half bad!" So I figured I'd open up a request thread. You get free ponies, I get more practice, it's win-win! There are a few things I need to point out though: I haven't done zebras yet, so I don't know how they'll turn out if you request one. (They'll probably turn out great.) I haven't done any Draconequus yet, not even Discord. Please don't request one until I do Discord. I haven't done clothes on pixel ponies yet. Please wait until I've done a few non-requests of clothed ponies before requesting one. I haven't done anything on a canvas larger than 100x100 pixels, so please don't request anything bigger than that yet. I will only be doing one pixel pony per person per five open slots. Dio is never allowed to make a request in this thread. With those notes down, that should be all you need to know! Requests are currently CLOSED. Moondancer, for Bellosh101 Duskfall, for Duskfall Tumbledust, for SpringWheat Edelweiss, for Freddie Time Spinner, for NeoExLucky Previous work. Note: Please do not use my pixel art unless it is of YOUR CHARACTER or a SHOW CHARACTER. I don't want to see random people going around using, for example, my pixel art of Diomedes' Meadowhawk, or of my own Ink Spill.
  9. Sounds good to me, Bellosh. I've got a Traveling Players' Skype group I'll add you to, and there's a thread here that's open to all new and returning members of the troupe.
  10. Ghost Writer danced on her hooves outside the Cafe Viridian. It was a hole in the wall little place with no sign. It was only distinguished by a green door, uncharacteristic in Canterlot on the whole. Ghost Writer had only learned of it because her brother had helped the little cafe start up. It was the sort of place that only stayed in business because of its regulars. They made enough money to keep the owners and employees living comfortably and to keep the little cafe open, and that was all they seemed to want. It was Ghost Writer's favorite cafe. She knew the entire waitstaff by name, and they all knew her by name. They knew the troupe schedule, too, and when the troupe was in Canterlot on break they kept Ghost's spot open. A spacious corner booth where she could spread out her writing materials and work on whichever novel or play needed completing at that moment. Sometimes regulars she'd gotten to know would join her and ask after her work while they drank their teas, but usually it was just Ghost, with troupe members coming and going occasionally. Today was different. Today was the very last day of the troupe's break, and it was time for everyone to get together and start preparing to leave on their route once again. Old members and new alike would be meeting Ghost in her corner booth today, and she was a little antsy. The old members hadn't met the new mebmers yet. She wasn't worried about how Double Tap or Pierrot would react to them, but Spotlight could be a problem. Finally, she shook off her nerves. She'd keep Spotlight from being a problem. She would. She had to. Into the Cafe Viridian she walked. The waitstaff already had her tea and scone prepared at her place, and she slid into the booth and sipped at her tea, awaiting her troupe.
  11. Canterlot's Premiere Traveling Acting Troupe, the Traveling Players (sometimes jokingly referred to as Celestia's Court by its members), is looking for new actors and stagehands! Have you got a crafty type character who wants to really put her skills to use? Or maybe you just have a pony who can carry a heavy load and wants an excuse to travel Equestria? Well, as long as they're alright with living on a tight budget, the Traveling Players will welcome them! As of now, the Traveling Players is made up of four ponies: Ghost Writer (the playwright, ever skittish and eager to avoid crowds), Spotlight (the diva actress, always full of hot air), Pierrot (the mute performer, but a kind enough friend), and Double Tap (the laid back, ever reliable stagehand). Any actor, singer, painter, carpenter, tailor, or writer is welcome to send an audition (in the form of a link to your character's WoE application) to me! Your character should not, however, have pre-existing ties with the troupe. It's better if your character is thrown in new. They can be from any city, not just Canterlot itself (though this is where the troupe is based) and you aren't required to participate in EVERY troupe thread. Really, this is just something I wanted to set up for RPers to have more RP partner options. Older members of Canterlot who RP with the same couple of people all the time are encouraged to join, as well as brand new members of Canterlot who may not have found anybody to RP with yet. Further, since we welcome any character from any city on the map, we also welcome any species that has been implemented in WoE. Griffins, crystal ponies, zebras, dragons, unicorns, buffalo, pegasi, donkeys, and earth ponies are all more than welcome! Just chatter at me in this thread, let me know if you're interested, and send me a link to your character's application. -- Ghostie
  12. I actually totally have a request for you. It's a spool of thread with some items sticking out of it. Specifically a feather quill (the feather should be colored the way the one in this picture is, with the red at the tip of the feather), a wooden paintbrush with paint on the tip, and a sewing needle, with thread from the spool winding up through the eye of the needle. If I can get my tablet to cooperate I can get a sketch example up for you, I'm just not personally good at all with cleaned up digital images. I'm also not picky about the color of the thread or the color of the paint on the paintbrush. The character is monochrome, so any color will really work. I will, however, say the more saturated, the better. EDIT: sketch example in spoiler.
  13. This looks good to me. I'll go ahead and pass it up to a SRPH!
  14. I'm hoping we get some Batponies as a separate race going on. I'd love to have that. For now, as far as we know, it's just a spell that adds those bat wings and dragon eyes. (Tweets saying they're thought of as a separate species don't count as a canon, I'm afraid.)
  15. In the center of Ponyville's town square, a flashy little cart was set up. Delicious smells wafted their way around Ponyville, drawing everypony closer to the flashy little cart, where a flashy little pony had set up flashy little tables. The sign on the cart read "Bixy's Bites" and the flashy little pony was Bixy. Her turquoise mane was tied up in a messy bun with the help of a purple ribbon, and her red beryl coat was spattered with flour and bits of dough and smeared crystal berries. Despite this, she had the biggest smile on her face you ever did see, and she greeted her first guest enthusiastically. Her excitement did not wane as she offered up menus and answered questions to each and every guest that stopped by. She served crystal berry juices and teas and fizzy drinks, carted out various meals one could normally only find in the crystal empire, and ended with her crystal berry tarts, a dessert that had become somewhat famous in the Crystal Empire before... that whole mess with that one evil unicorn king, Bixbite preferred not to think about it too much. The day carried on, and Bixbite closed down for a short while to restock her supply of tarts and teas and juices and fizzy sodas, before reopening once more. The tables soon filled again, word having spread around Ponyville that there was this fabulous little cart in town square selling crystal pony cuisine of all things! She rushed from table to table, chatting with everypony as she went, running her one-pony operation as best she could. It was good for her that most crystal pony cuisine was served cold; everything could be prepared that morning, so she didn't have to take time from serving in order to cook. The first day was always the busiest, of course, and she knew the next two days would slow down a little, so that she had more time to learn everything she could about Ponyville's residents. Finally the crowd waned once more, and she had some time to rest her hooves and sip at a turquoise berry tea, watching her guests enjoy their meals.
  16. Oh my goodness, I can't even with your style. This is so adorable. Do you take requests or commissions?
  17. This is just the kind of antagonist that I was talking about wanting for CC, Phil! Great app! Everything looks solid to me, so I'm going to pass this up to SRPH.
  18. Pleasure to be looking over another app of yours Duskfall! I have a few things to note real quick. I'd like you to condense the description of the pony form that Duskfall adopts into his Unique Traits field, and remove the Cutie Mark field. This will keep the app neater and easier for everyone to read and understand. Next, I'd like you to condense the Personality into the Character Summary field. There is no Character Personality field in our application, and the Character Summary field is meant to have the personality in it. I do have a couple of questions for you that could add to Duskfall's history: What led to Duskfall choosing to integrate into Manehattan and interact with ponies, especially without adopting the guise of a pony at all times? How did Duskfall come to decide what he wanted the pony form he would adopt sometimes to look like, and what its cutie mark would be? What lead to Duskfall's decision to take up message/package-running? If you can clean those up and answer those questions for me, I think I can go ahead and pass this on to SRPH!
  19. This all looks solid to me! You have a very well rounded character here, with an interesting pull. The goggles are neat, too. Passing this up to SRPH!
  20. This all looks good to me. This is a nice, round character you've got here. I'm going to pass this up to an SRPH. If they have any problems with it, they'll let you know. >w0
  21. Name: Siiri Lionheart Gender: Female Age: Young Adult Griffin Species: Griffin Eye colour: Her eyes are those of a bearded vulture: what would be the whites of her eyes are red and her irises are white. Appearance and coloration: Being a griffin, Lionheart is half bird of prey and half big cat. Her bird of prey half closely resembles the lighter colorations of the bearded vulture, leaving her feathers (all but her wings) white tipped with black. Her wings, however, are black, with the occasional specks of white. Her big cat half has the patternings and coloration of a snow leopard, with a white base and big smoky grey spots. Physique: Most of Lionheart's physique is hidden by the intense fluff of her feathers and fur. She's slim and lithe, built for quick, quiet subtleties and stealth. Strength is not her strong suit, but she more than makes up for it with sheer speed and agility. Residence: Lionheart is without a current residence, and doesn't generally stay in one place for too long. Occupation: She calls herself a travel guide, but nobody's ever seen her guide anyone to anything. She hunts, though, and sells anything she doesn't eat or use. Unique Traits: Siiri carries a bow and quiver, as well as twin swords and an assortment of knives. The bow and quiver are for hunting, the twin swords are for combat and personal protection, and the knives are for whittling wood and preparing meals. The swords are named, but she'll only reveal the names to those closest to her, just as she hides her given name from all except those she trusts completely. History: Siiri was born to the Baron of the Lionheart Steading, a family set up in the far north of Aquellia. Raised in the halls of Falkensfjord, she did not have a rough childhood. Being the only child, she knew she would stay with Falkensfjord when she was of age, and that she would eventually be Baroness. This didn't bother her in the least, and, in fact, she looked forward to it. Her parents chose to let the young griffin choose for herself what she wanted to do and what she wanted to learn. Given the choice between needlework and swordplay, Siiri would always choose swordplay. It was much more fun to chip away at a wooden practice dummy than to sew dumb patterns onto dumb fabric. She would continue to choose swordplay as she grew older, and eventually just the slow, steady movements became second nature. She would, when helping with housework, pick up a broom handle and start practicing with it, and she would frequently walk down the hall practicing with a wooden sword. The swordplay created a certain closeness between the young griffin and her father. They would often practice together in the courtyard, day or night. Only inclement weather would stop them. When one bested the other they would laugh and return inside to rest, Siiri's mother having already prepared a meal for them to restore their energy. This is not to say, however, that Siiri was not close with her mother. While she dismissed her mother's offer of needlework, she still fancied the dresses her mother so loved. Normally she couldn't bear to stand still, but when it came to her mother fitting her for a new dress, she would endure it. She especially loved drapey blue dresses and flowy red ones. As she grew older, Siiri would spend more time with her father and her uncles. One uncle in particular taught her to whittle. Another took her camping and taught her to identify tracks and follow them. The last would accompany them on camping trips, and he taught her the various plants: which ones to avoid, and which ones to eat or cook with. The five of them, Siiri and her father and her uncles, would go on hunting trips, and when they returned with their prize, Siiri's mother would teach her to clean, prepare, and cook the meat. Each of these skills stuck with Siiri throughout her life, and she demanded to go camping by herself when she was of age. Her father agreed and, after recieving presents from her parents and uncles (the bow, arrows, swords, and knives that she carries with her to this day), she set out. She spent a week in the wilderness, honing her skills. She became particularly fond of fishing to pass the time and feed herself while she was out on her own. While she'd never seen her mother prepare fish, she managed well enough to make it edible, and discovered what to best spice it with when she cooked it. She returned home a little worse for the wear, though her weaponry was well taken care of and she had a few trophies to show off. Not even 24 hours after her return, though, she was hit with bad news. Her father had arranged a marriage for her in her absence. She barged into his study and screamed at him. That was not his choice to make. She was an adult and could choose very well for herself whom she would court and by whom she would be courted. Her father would not change his mind. In a fit of rage, Siiri left. She took food enough with her to reach the nearest city, and she traveled south through the canyon, stopping as needed along the way. She fought her way through Diamond Dog territory, and east into the SaddleVeil Plains, eventually finding her way into the Everfree Forest. She stopped here for a time, to regather her wits about her, and soon found her way to a small town. She stopped there and set herself up as something of a mercenary. She was hired mostly to protect travelers who knew their way, but weren't able to keep themselves safe. Now, Siiri travels from town to town, escorting the less-than-capable for money, and hunting the odd menace here and there. She has no plans to return to Falkensfjord, and she does attempt to actively dodge anyone she may think would recognize her as the Baroness-to-be. All-in-all, she's content with the life of the traveling merc. Character Summary: Lionheart tends to be cold and calculating. She doesn't avoid interacting with others, but she does tend to be secretive and she is unwilling to spend time talking to anyone she doesn't view as useful to her in some way, even if only for entertainment. She does have friends, but she will never call them such, as she's been taught that emotional attachment is a weakness, though a tiny part of her knows it's a strength. She is, however, occasionally quick to anger. If she's been offended or her honor has been insulted in some way, she'll retaliate quickly and fiercely. It's gotten her into trouble more than once. She's also quick to defend those closest to her, and is often more trouble when defending others than herself. Lastly it should be noted that her tail is a sore point. Pointing it out, touching it, or tugging on it will provoke a reaction, and it will not be a friendly one.
  22. This looks good to me! I'm going to pass it on to a SRPH. If they see anything they think needs changed, they'll let you know.

  24. I see no problems with this other than the fact that her Cutie Mark is listed twice. Shame, Raridash! Clean that up and I'll pass it on.
  25. Since you are going for WoE, let me offer you a few questions to help you expand the history just a little more. What you have so far is great! But it is still a little bare bones. How did Sandspot first become interested in archery? Where did she hear about the contest and how did it make her feel? Is she living on her own now instead of with her parents? If she is, does she have a full time job to support her, or is she a fantastic enough archer at this point that she can support herself with her contest winnings alone? Are there any life lessons she's learned during contests? What happened during archery contests that taught her the things she knows now and helped develop her? Now, you don't have to use answers from ALL those questions in your history, but I figure those are the best questions I can ask to help you further develop this marvelous character. Please let me know when you've added some more to her history!
