  1. Close enough. Would have loved to see the total albino-red from the fanon still.
  2. Ooooh, this is tough. Maybe more about the villains. Things like why Trixie and Gilda are they way they are, just because I kinda enjoy the fan interpretation of Trixie being not always a pain in the flank, but misunderstood in a way.
  3. I want some more time with Dapper Dan, so you can count me in as well.
  4. XKCD updates regularly, every other day of the week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), and fairly regular. I just hate when webcomics die due to lack of updating. My favourite of all time is Gone with the Blastwave, which he stopped updating last year, which is a pity because it was a great comic. In the case of stuff like VGCats, as long as it keeps going, I'm fine. I just don't want it to die off. Also, on topic: It took me a moment to get the second comic, mostly because I was laughing at the fact that I /understood that argument/ and the entire comic. Then I noticed her PC BG XD
  5. Timbre Swing laughed softly. He had no idea what 'dulcet' meant, but figured it was a compliment based on the tone of her voice. He smiled a little. If only she knew what he sounded like as a foal. His accent was thicker then, and he spoke barely a word of Equestrian, making his speech rather halting to listen to. He didn't mind though, he'd learned to enjoy his voice in his later years. He laughed at her outlook on life, nodding. "That is a good way of putting it." he said with a smile. He truly did do what he loved. "And as long as you are 'appy, 'oo cares what others think?" he asked with a grin. When she offered the duet, he smiled, a little nervous. He found it hard to believe he was actually going to be singing with her. It was almost like a dream come true, to be able to sing with someone as famous as her. He knew his parents would be proud that he'd gotten this far. He hopped up onto the stage right next to her, obviously full of energy, ready to go, and comfortable with the audience. Even before she nodded at him, he was listening to the beat of her hoof, tapping out an identical one of his own to help him keep time, and trying to come up with a beat. It finally clicked, and he tilted his hat back with a bit of magic before starting to sing. The nonsense syllables formed their own kind of backing music, giving her room to try to sing if she wanted, either with her own voice, or try her hoof at scat-singing.
  6. Ollie was excited for this. A chance to show off his tricks and actually get art done of it! Maybe he could use it to help get his shop later on. He could use it as like, ads or something. "The castle? That would be cool! Although I have to be kinda careful...last time I was near the castle I got in trouble for skateboarding. The guards didn't like it." he said with an embarrassed laugh. "There's a lot of places to go first. Valoren, you're from Canterlot too, right? We can help them find lots of places to draw. The city is huge, and there's so much to see! And obviously there's Solstice Heights, too..."
  7. Wind Rider followed along with the group. He recognized the cafe, of course, having come here multiple times. He smiled happily, quite enjoying himself, as they entered the cafe and he sat down across from Seaspray. He opened the menu, looking through it and shrugging. "I don't know. It's all good." he said with a laugh, smiling a little. It all truly was good. He decided eventually on hay fries with gravy and some grated cheese on top. An acquired taste, but he enjoyed it. He glanced at Whisperpaw, but decided not to say anything, simply smiling cheerfully. He knew it would likely be best to not force him into social situations and instead let him come into it on his own terms.
  8. [sounds good to me. And no worries, I know all about being busy ]
  9. Rain Maker was lazily circling above Ponyville, an area she knew well. She used to live in Cloudsdale, after all. The Everfree Forest stretched out next to her, but her destination was Manehatten, later in the day. As usual, the adventurous author had her saddlebags on tight , making sure they didn't slip off as she flew. In the bags were her most important items...a few journals and writing utensils to jot down whatever she saw for her next book. As usual, she looked right and left idly as she flew. As she looked to her right, she noticed a column of smoke...in the Everfree! That wasn't normal! The possibility for a huge adventure, or at least saving the day, was too much of a pull for Rain Maker, so she quickly banked to the right and kicked her wings into high gear. She wasn't the fastest of flyers, but she was fast enough, and quite agile too. She made it to the fire, seeing it was a cabin below. A trio of ponies on the ground were uselessly trying to put it out with a small hose, while Rainbow Dash, a pegasus she knew from sight alone, was streaking off after leaving a cloud behind. Rain Maker flew down and landed on top of the cloud, not having heard the instructions to Dunder to keep it raining, and started to jump on it, coaxing water out of it. She looked up at Rainbow Dash, then down at the ponies below. "Shouldn't this be out by now?!" she asked, in a bit of a panic.
  10. Wind Rider was just as confused. He didn't think he was being intimidating in any way, and he truly hoped he wasn't coming across as such. Whisperpaw just seemed to be incredibly shy. Still a bit confused, Wind Rider looked over at Seaspray when she made her suggestion. He was kinda hungry, which he had just noticed. Nodding, Wind Rider smiled. "Getting some food sounds great." he said. He followed along, trotting happily through the streets of the town he knew so well. Somepony that recognized him called out, and he waved to them with a smile. Instead of flying, some some pegasus did when they moved, Wind Rider was perfectly content with just walking along. When she corrected herself and said "flying distance", Wind laughed softly. "Oh, don't worry. I'm good with walking to." he said. "I'll be fine with a little cafe, I'm not incredibly hungry. What about you two?" he asked, looking at the other ponies. When he looked back, Seaspray seemed to have changed a bit. Instead of appearing a bit shy, she was beaming happily. "What? Is the cafe really that good of a choice?" he teased in a good-natured way. He hadn't seen Seaspray around nor met her before, so he didn't know that she had a bit of trouble making friends.
  11. Dynamic action poses? Interesting places around the city? Ollie McTwist could do that easily! He knew the town like the back of his hoof, from spending all his time here instead of back home in Solstice Heights. "I'll totally do it!" Ollie said happily. "It sounds like fun! I know all sorts of cool places to go." he said. He looked at Valoren and his jaw dropped a bit as the pegasus soared through the air. It was a great showing of the natural ability of a flyer. Still, Ollie knew he could be just as impressive with his own tricks. He looked at Pumpkin and smiled. "Wanna come join us?" he asked. "You're an artist, I'm sure you could help or get your own drawings done." he said, idly spinning one of the wheels on his skateboard with a free hoof.
  12. Good, I'm done, just forgot to switch over the tag when I was.
  13. Wind Rider smiled. Yes, being a forest ranger was exciting, and it was part of why he did it. He liked the ability to just relax and glide about, and yet knew that he could be needed at any time to be a hero, and save somepony that was in trouble. That was why he did it, he wanted to make sure everypony who went out came back safely. "An aquarium? I had no idea. I need to get my head out of the clouds at some point and come see it." he said with a smile. The alarmed hooting of the owl nearby caught his attention, and he realized that there were too very timid ponies nearby. "Is your feathered friend okay?" he asked. He had been in and around the forests enough to recognize the sounds of an animal in distress.
  14. Dapper Dan smiled. So she was from out of town...that was a bit of a pity. He really wanted to get to know her better. He didn't know too many Appleloosans, and those he did weren't really as lovely as her. "Well, that sounds fun. I wish I could travel around. Where do you call home?" he asked. Hopefully somewhere nearby that he could go visit her once in a while. Suddenly, there was a heavy bit of commotion near the punch bowl that took his attention over there. He noticed a frog hopping away from everything, and he chuckled, seeing the mare's siblings laughing. "Your siblings look like real fun people." he said with a hint of teasing sarcasm. "Very...rowdy." he said after a pause, searching for the right word.
  15. [Well, might as well.] Timbre Swing felt almost a bit embarrassed to have Sapphire compliment him as she did. It was different than just a fan of his complimenting him. She was a professional, bigger than he was, and here she was happy to meet him, and complimenting his skills. He smiled happily, feeling like he was walking on air. If the great Sapphire Shores thought he was good, he would be able to make it anywhere. "Indeed. Even zee ponies with...le talent naturelle..." he tapped his right hoof impatiently on the ground. What was the word? "Skill...natural talent! Even zee ponies with natural talent need to practice 'ard to keep as good as they are." he commented. "Where do I 'ail from?" Timbre asked. He ran through the word hail in his mind, and figured it meant where he came from. "Right 'ere, in Canterlot. I wouldn't be surprise to 'ear you 'aven't 'eard of my accent...I used to be teased for it in school." he explained. At the idea of a collaboration he smiled. "I would be 'onoured to sing with zee great Sapphire Shores." he said sincerely.
  16. Roleplay Type: Mane Name: Rain Maker Sex: Female Age: Young Mare Species: Pegasus Eye Color: Green Coat Color: Pale bluish-grey Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Blue, with a curly mane and short, straight tail. Physique: Average for a pegasus Cutie Mark: A winged book, representing her skill at writing and her love of going places to do so. Origin/Residence: Cloudsdale, but for now she's out and about. Occupation: Wandering writer, though she doesn't really have an official job. Motivation: To see as much of the world as she can, and entertain the ponies that read her books. Character Summary: Rain Maker is a bit of a hothead, but mostly, she's a very pleasant young mare. She's excitable as can be, however, when it comes to the possibility of going on some kind of trip or adventure. She tends to get along with most everypony, but also has a tendency to be a bit annoying with her constant talking about adventures and stories. Nonetheless, she's still a pegasus at heart, and as a result is a bit competitive at times and has a tendency to sometimes be a bit on the headstrong and stubborn side, unless it gets in the way of her adventuring. Though she's a bit afraid of what she might find in the world, having not left Cloudsdale until recently, she knows she has to toughen up and make it through if she wants to get her stories written properly. As for her background, there really isn't a whole lot to say. Her family was rather average, in their own way. Her mother was in the REA, and her father was one of Cloudsdale's fastest mailcolts. Nothing too exciting, but both were proud of their professions. Her mother had always been of the sort to think that it wasn't all about being a hero that was important, it was that you loved your life and did what it was you enjoyed. Rain Maker took that advice to heart, which was the main reason she left Cloudsdale in the first place. That, and the adventures of the heroine of a popular series of books, a certain Daring Do. Rain Maker quite enjoyed reading, and when she wasn't hanging out with her friends or practising her flying, often racing with some of the kids at the same level of flight camp as herself, she was off at the library or at home, reading some kind of book. Her favourites were always the more adventurous kinds, stories of action, intrigue, faraway places she'd never visited, and epic adventures. It wasn't long before the stories started to have a bit of an effect on the young Rain Maker. In between her chores around the house, or helping her father on his mail runs, she would often find herself daydreaming, not about the stories themselves, but about another character, and adventures she'd never heard of or read before. After enjoying the mental adventures, she realized that she wanted to get it written down before she forgot any of it. A week later, and the few notes she had written about her daydreamed adventures had expanded. She found herself taking more time, the usual one or two line notes about the adventures or the characters becoming short paragraphs, until she realized she couldn't keep them on scrap pieces of paper around the house anymore. Rain Maker flew out and bought herself a journal, and started to write. She barely stopped writing for a few days, and eventually, the journal was filled with the first draft of her adventure novella, which she showed to her friends...along with the cutie mark that had appeared on her flank while she wrote. She would never have expected her special talent to be writing, but it had just seemed so natural when she started writing that, on hindsight, Rain wondered why she'd never thought of it before. Inspired by the praise she got from her friends and family about her writing ability, she decided she wanted to expand it, and make her short story into something big. But to do that, Rain Maker realized she couldn't stay in Cloudsdale. Imagination was one thing, but living an adventure was another, and she realized that the more people she met, the more places she saw, the better her books could be. So she said goodbye to her parents, stuck a few blank journals and writing supplies in her saddlebag, and went out. She had no first spot in mind, but she knew a few things. She knew she loved flying, and meeting new people. She knew her heart had always longed for adventures of some kind, and she knew that she was free to go where she pleased and experience the world, and she wasn't going to let that go.
  17. Ollie looked over at the paintings done by the blue unicorn. Impressive was an understatement, the image was absolutely beautiful. He wished he had a talent like that, but then again, he made art in his own special way. Few could get on a piece of wood and four wheels and preform some of the things Ollie McTwist could. Still, it was clear he was a different kind of artist than the other ponies around him. Still, maybe he could enjoy the day, and find some kind of adventure. Be a model for a drawing, or show somepony around. Ollie looked up at Moondusk and tilted his head a little. "Me too? But I don't know anything about art. I couldn't even draw if I tried." he said, shaking his head. "I mean I'd love to help but what could I possibly do?" he asked.
  18. Wind Rider smiled at Hookline, and shook his head. No, technically, they hadn't met. "No, not personally anyways." he said, extending a hoof to the fisherpony. "I'm Wind Rider, the local forest ranger. My patrols often take me along the coast, and I'm pretty sure I recognize you, having seen you at work. You're a fisherpony, right?" he asked casually, waiting for the reply. He didn't know everybody but he was good with faces for the most part. Wind Rider could recognize most people he'd met, if at least by their appearance and not by their name. That he was a little bad with, but maybe it came from him being a bit aloof at times. [Welp, shorter than I would have liked. Ah well.]
  19. As a massive Trekkie, I loved Discord for the simple fact that he was voiced by John DeLancie, who provided that amazing talent to the character of Q (basically, the humanized version of Discord) to the show. He's an incredible actor, and the absolute perfect voice for Discord. to when he first appears to Celestia and the Mane 6...his voice changes tone in a heartbeat, even with his first line ("What fun is there in making sense?") which makes him even SOUND like a God of Chaos. Not only that, De Lancie doesn't sound particularly villainous all the time, at least not stereotypically. He's one of those VAs who has a very compelling and awesome voice. In addition, as ShaleCrow said (Only post of the thread I actually read xD), he's a threat. He's omnipotent and omniscient (just like Q), which makes him dangerous. The gleeful way he holds back on his powers is downright chilling...it's shown with Fluttershy that he doesn't even NEED to try and break the ponies, he can do it on his own. He toys with the Mane 6 and Celestia herself, which implies he's a lot more powerful than one would expect....heck, the only reason he loses is because someone passed him the Idiot Ball and he refused to notice that the Mane 6 had regained their colour. He's a chilling, exceptionally bad[You know exactly what goes here], and well written villain, and that's why I like him. I have a thing for Magnificent [More expletives] characters like Discord, and the Fanon idea that the reason he's so evil has to do with Celestia (particularly, a hard breakup or rejection by Celestia) just makes it even more interesting. I'd love to see another episode featuring him, and the reason he is how he is and does what he does.
  20. Wind Rider had the day off, thank Celestia. He had a fun time on his job, but flying around all the time, gazing down at the ground, sometimes got a bit boring. Time to relax was nice. He lazily flew around, barely beating his wings as he exploited the thermals and ridge lifts along the coast of the bay to keep him airborne, gliding like a bird would. Wind loved to fly, it felt liberating. He couldn't imagine being a unicorn or earth pony, stuck on the ground all the time. Today was especially liberating...his vest and hat were back home, leaving Wind Rider's brown coat bare, his seafoam green mane and tail to blow in the wind, and his cutie mark was fully visible. He smiled, letting out a happy sigh that was lost to the wind around him. He looked down, spotting a few ponies along the beach. Curious, he banked down toward the water, coming around in a lazy circle before lightly landing on the sand near the other ponies. "Good morning!" he called out, his voice deep but a little on the quiet end. Still, if Wind Rider wanted to, he could shout loud enough to be heard clearly from high up in the air. "How is everypony?" he asked. Of the assembled ponies, he recognized none except Hookline, but he recognized him by sight alone from Wind's occasional patrols along the coast of Hoofington, where the fisherpony worked. "Beautiful day, isn't it?"
  21. [i'll give it another day or two before making my other post, just to wait for the others. Edit: though I checked both Daft and Frederic's profiles and neither have been online recently. Should I just go anyways?]
  22. [i'll pass on my turn, not quite sure what I could say xD so back to Frosty.]
  23. Ollie McTwist nodded. "That's so cool! You need to show me some ways up. Those would be some really epic tricks." he said, grinning like an idiot. He couldn't wait to try something up there, as dangerous as it would be. He looked over at Valoren when he spoke of adventures. "Aw, that sounds like that would suck. Searching for treasure sounds really awesome though." he said with a grin. He looked back at Pumpkin Blush when she produced her notebook. She was a talented artist. He could never do anything like that. "Wow. You're pretty good at that." he admitted, grinning again. "I live in Solstice Heights but it's so boring there. So I come out here to Canterlot all the time."
  24. Ollie took his board back with a grin. "Thanks, Mister!" he said happily. He kept the board on the side to make sure it didn't roll off, his front left hoof sitting on top of it to keep it down. He didn't want it rolling off and hitting someone else. "No, sorry. I don't live in Canterlot but I come here all the time. And I don't really have a use for inns, I never really used one before." he explained. He looked over at the Pegasus and grinned when he mentioned him being a good skater. "Oh yeah! I do all the time! Nobody's beaten me yet." he said, rather immodestly. Yeah, he was a little boastful but at least he was able to back up his boasts with skill. Before he could say anything else, he was in a pile of sprawled out limbs as he was crashed into. Ollie managed to extract himself and stood up, shaking his head and looking at the filly who was there. "Gee, thanks." he teased. "Wait, were you just on the rooftops?" he asked, looking up. He had always imagined being able to get up there and do a few tricks on the rooftops, but it was probably dangerous.
