I roleplay for the sake of emulating original characters. If I take a character from the show, I am no longer really being original. I also prefer being known as my oc or myself, not as an official character.

I'm sometimes nervous that taking in more cast characters would dilute the time spent on other characters.

I generally avoid cast characters because I worry about screwing up either the details or a subtle but important character aspect. I might apply if: 1) there was a character whose absence was causing a problem, 2) a character people said they thought I could play well, or 3) a character I could put an interesting spin on while keeping to canon
