1. After carefully dodging Star's hug I make this app. Alternate version of a canon character- well, more alternate than normal, at any rate: Name: Mrs. Lightning Dust Age: 25 Occupation: Physical Education/Health Teacher Gender: Female Species: Pegasus Description: Intimidatingly tall, lanky but well built and strong in posture and gait, her step always seeming slightly aggressive. Her hair is messy in places, styled to be, tufting out into little spikes to give some 'edge' to an otherwise no-nonsense straight cut that keeps her hair out of her eyes and her tail from tripping her up. Her wings are far larger than one would expect of a woman her size, adding her height to her frame when fully expanded; impressive also in their sleekness and angularity, almost warlike. Her countenance is sharp, her eyes hawklike. She wears spartan clothing, jeans and hoodies in shades similar to her coat colour as a pony, often with faded military logos. Back Story: A prodigy of an athlete as a child, born with an indomitable will and growing up without the ability to sympathize for others. Her drive to be the best led her to seek out what she thought was the best: the Wonderbolts, the military outfit of Equestria, and she thrived on her work ethic and natural talent. Her instructors deemed it best that she instruct the future cadets of the group, and she made for a great drill instructor, her own drive to be the best translated into a drive to make her trainees the best and her lack of empathy weeding out the weak in droves. But being made a teacher incepted an idea into Lightning. She was a teacher now, and the best teachers weren't the drillers of already molded adults. The best teacher were those, to Lightning, who shaped the youth and growing of the world, who made the next generation. Lightning's drive reset, her goals were changed. She shocked everyone she knew by uprooting herself from the world she knew and going to become a high school teacher. And perhaps worst of all, she has no intent to change her style at all. Worst for her future students, that is. Cutie Mark: Her lightning bolt and three stars appear as a tattoo that takes up the right side of her face. The three stars are on her cheek and the lightning bolt spears through her eye, only fully visible when she closes it.
2. Why did you not do those things for ME?!?! Anyways, I'm not returning to my old roster, so unless you could use another new character in this I'll refrain from rejoining.
3. It is very hard for me to resume something once I've lost track of it for a while. Unfortunately, all the POWER that I was channeling for Swan has long since vanished. It wouldn't be the same. Even if I fail to secure Lightning Dust as a Mane RP character I'll only be playing her, because... uh... I really like her mane? And thanks, Phil, Bellosh!
4. Eat my dust.

Does lightning dust taste better than regular dust?

@weesh: The best.

@Tales: For LD, yes. I don't care about anypony else anymore.

@Mustang: Too bad, you're eating it.

@weesh again: Yup.

5. Still as plotty as always. I only intend to ever play one character ever again, I'll have an app for her up within the week.
6. I HAVE RETURNED, TO THE INTEREST OF NOBODY I also come with a newfound obsession for a certain mare that is now my avatar, and the intent to only play her ever. I also have other developments but none of them are relevant so I'll spare the people who aren't reading this even more of the time they aren't investing into reading this and just say that it's unlikely that I'll vanish on hiatus again. But I won't be picking up anypony from my old roster. Of course, no one cared about them.
7. Post-EQLA, I've realized that there are some things I simply need to be dedicated to over other things, and one of those other things is this site. I love teh RPs, and I love ya'll, and I've made a few friendships here and there, but updating this site is a serious task for me (2~ hours a day at worst), and there's just some stuff I really need to attend to in real life lest I fail as a person. So I'm going to declare a hiatus, as of now indefinite. I'm involved in quite a bit as is, and I'm so sorry to all the members of this site I'm cutting short by up and leaving like this. I think I'll be gone for at least another month, long enough for all the RP I'm involved in to either die or move on without me. I'll try to come back as soon as I feel I've done what I needed to do IRL. It's been fun guys.
8. I leave that up to you guys, but I won't be updating until Sunday. EQLA, boi.
9. I'm not angry. But if I have to resort to PMing people the content of my posts pertaining to them then that's what I'll be doing.
10. God **** it Val, it's like you were waiting to make my post redundant. Glad to see you back, but you know this already. Everyone's characters are inferior to mine, BOI. I feel that it's harder to pay attention to side things when events begin to converge, like they are with the Prophet. So many characters from Starlight Hill are vague for me because it got so chaotic then.
11. I haven't heard from Val in a while, but bear in mind that she lives in Virginia. Read, part of the area where Hurricane Sandy had an impact. I heard from her during the storm, so I think she's fine. Probably just a power issue.
12. COALITION OF UNUSUALLY TALENTED PONIES Headquarters "... Isn't that right Kalomena?" The great phoenix perched on the table beside her, looking cooly at her over her lunch, an enormous pile of greens that she rarely ever finished. It was one of her many quirks, she always took far more food than she needed to, as a part of her compulsive need to hoard as if she were still in the middle of the phoenix forest where resources were scarce. Kalomena didn't comment, not only because she couldn't, but because she had no opinion on Twinkle's incredibly petty complaints about some of her peers in the superpony business. 'Fyre' rattled on and on about how she had been disrespected by somepony with an obscure name, her mountain of a salad untouched, her phoenix bemused, when she received the summons from Celestia. "Oh! Kalomena, let's do it!" Kalomena knew what that meant well enough. With an acrobatic flip over her table, that spilled and totally wasted her salad in the process, 'Fyre' took Kalomena into herself. It was a rather simple process, so simple that it was as if Kalomena had just vanished into thin air. No light show, no explosions, just simple vanishing. But 'Fyre' looked significantly different. Her already eye-wateringly bright coat was now positively blinding, her little pegasus wings were now easily twice their size. She didn't really need to do stuff like this, in fact in the old headquarters she would often clip her wings against the walls in the narrower corridors. But 'Fyre' was insistent on showing off. So they had made sure to build extra wide corridors when relocating, just for her. 'Fyre' took off, a burst of flame bolting down and out of the mess hall. She rocketed past Tank: "Hurry up slowpoke!" Then she was gone, soaring down the corridors into the briefing room, right after Discharge, then right past him and into the forefront of the gathered group. Her usual spot. She had to be in front, always.
13. Penumbra had been expecting a bit of trouble with the bouncer, so she was highly surprised when he let her through without too much fuss. Okay, a bit of fuss, and a lot of looking around as if trying to find a pony who would vouch for her. Well apparently she had lucked out, because she was let in after all. Penumbra quickly trotted in, before anypony's mind was changed. Now that she was inside, she was assaulted by strong saxophone melodies. Jazz, and it sounded awesome too. So this place was going to be expensive. With a slight groan, Penumbra looked around, at the bar, at the stage, wondering who her mysterious benefactor had been.
14. "I want to talk to everypony, but not at once..." "Ah, such great dedication! Even I could not imagine spending whole days dancing..." Swan Dive thought for a moment, imagining exactly what she had just said she couldn't imagine. Now that she thought about it, and entire days just spent dancing the day away sounded incredibly fun. Why had she not done that before? Swan put her head onto the table, atop her forehooves, she smiled up at Flying. "It sounds like a blast! Hard work, of course, but a blast! But that is my opinion. What is yours?" "Mmm..." Swan had to think for a bit on Balanced's question, for two reasons. One, Swan found it difficult to carry multiple conversations, and especially when either one of them involved ponies prying into her own personal life. Hypocritically enough, Swan didn't like talking about herself. She could hear out the stories of any other, but her own stories both humiliated and bored her in equal measure. That aside, she also found it difficult to respond because Flying's mother was shooting her the most curious look right now. If Swan didn't know better, she'd have said that Balanced was mad at her. "I do dance, yes! It is not my primary source of income-" Nor was The Young Mare's Tail. It made quite a bit because Swan was actually a decent manager, but overall Swan was still a daddy's mare through and through. Her lifestyle was expensive, after all. "-but I do enjoy it greatly as a hobby. Erm, is that all?" Swan hoped she could get back to focusing on Flying soon.
15. "There is only one type of question I ask: my own." "Ah, how proactive of you. So you are the 'somepony' that rectifies such issues." Swan was interested in the things in this new exhibit, since they were far more obvious and far less difficult for the functionally illiterate to understand. Of course, Swan was hardly a fan of such things as weapons and armor, like the majority of ponies she was pacifistic in nature. Which was why, in her wisdom- whatever wisdom she actually had- she had realized that those ponies who could fight on the behalf of those who couldn't were all the more to be respected. Swan wouldn't have been the mare to rectify a lack of respect for the military, but she was glad she was speaking to a stallion who was the mare right now. Wait, what? "And having exchanged with the Princess, no less. For how little this museum seems to attract patrons from the wealthy of Canterlot, you have done some very important things! No offense, I am just saying what the truth is. To be honest, I would not be here on any other business. What do you feel about that? That your museum is not appealing to such a large demographic?" Swan smiled apologetically at the good Doctor.
16. "When given the choice of two things to do, why not do both?" "Yes, down to the dot Aloe. My magazine runs other articles, but they are normally related to the ponies that we feature. Places they have mentioned, things they have eaten, and so on and so on..." Swan was dancing a bit in place, her childlike energy beginning to assert itself as it demanded she get underway into motion soon. It was just a simple step pattern with her forehooves, rear hooves not even involved, but it was obvious that Swan was getting antsy now. However, it didn't show at all in her disposition, as it was rare that she noticed her own body when focused on talking with others. "I would love to interview your sister and yourself, Aloe. But alas, not now. I only have eyes for one at the moment." Swan's eyes turned towards Rarity. "Every subscription helps, Rarity, but! But." Swan Dive paused dramatically, as she was wont to. "But we must get down to business. And by business, I mean fun!" Swan didn't conduct especially formal interviews, unless the personality of the mare or stallion in question made it a necessity. "Both places sound like a delightful place to while some time away. What about this, ladies? Let us engage in both, a trip to your boutique Rarity, then to your spa, Aloe. Though perhaps I shouldn't be asking you to provide us with your services, as you are one of our group..."
17. A quick stopover- of about an hour, but it was necessary to make- and Penumbra had restored herself to the full glory of Nightmare Moon's guise and persona. She realized she now had a significant deficit of treats, having lost them in her Changeling related scare from before. Of course it was not exactly possible to have a sum of negative candy, but it was certainly possible to have very little to snack on. But she had had the time off her hooves redoing her makeup, so she was for now good to go for at least another few stops this Nightmare Night. So right now she was breezing easily down the lighted path provided for all ponies to explore the old ruins within the Everfree, alight on her wings and haughtily disdaining all ponies on the path below, as was in her character as the Queen of the Night. Penumbra touched down lightly on the other side of the little bridge that led over the painfully deep chasm separating the ruins away from the rest of the forest. Lanterns led all the way up to the crumbling castle itself, forlorn in the night. Folding her wings away, Penumbra slowly, regally approached the castle. This was Nightmare Moon's palace, or something along those lines, the history wasn't something Penumbra was totally familiar with. What she was familiar with was the superstitions, as she had done this Nightmare Nights prior. If she strayed off the path, there were supposedly ponies who had vanished forever. And ever. If there was any night to put stock into superstition, this was that night. So Penumbra kept her path firmly in the center of the light.
18. Well that explained it. She was galloping in fear from Changelings. Penumbra had been well awake for the invasion of Canterlot, the chaos and near consumption of the emotions that she held near and dear by the ministrations of a cartoony villain's plan to consume emotions that ponies held near and dear. The experience as a whole had been quite traumatic, on top of involving a lot of galloping from the exact things she was galloping away from now. It did not behoove the Queen of the Night to run from the Queen of the Changelings, but Penumbra wasn't in the mood to maintain character when she was reminded of a terrifying experience in her recent past. The mirrors vexed her, constantly showed rather morbid images of what she'd look like when the little beasts were done with her. Half galloping half flying now, wings beating witch each cadence of her hooves, Penumbra rounded the final corner toward the exit. Ah, knowing this exhibit from previous years had turned out to help her significantly. She had left behind a couple of her sweets in her rush, but that was hardly the concern now. She did a dive and a skid, flying through the air at top speed to escape the mirrored halls. When she was outside, she glanced back. They were gone, probably another of the houses tricks. A bit low, considering how actually horrifying that event had been, but Penumbra smiled all the same. She was dusty, sweaty, her costume was now a smear of what had once been intimidating make-up. This was shaping up to be a great Nightmare Night. Penumbra threw a salute at the entryway of the hall, laughed out, "Let's do this again next year, Queen!" Penumbra shuddered as she trotted away. "Okay, I take that back..."
19. Eh, my posting rhythm's well established, I can afford to add maor. But it if moves too fast I'd have to drop. Character Name: Twinkle 'Fyre' Star Race/Species: Pegasus Physical Description: A mare with an especially radiant coat shade of eye-wateringly bright yellow. She is a bit on the petite side, smaller than the average mare in both height and build. She is almost always wearing a smile, and she looks absolutely terrible without it, as it is such a seemingly imperative part of her countenance. Her face is childish and cute. Her mane is long, a bit spiked and tufted at the crown, and otherwise perfectly straight. Her tail is likewise perfectly straightened. Both are a single colour of orange. Her eyes are a similar orange in their irises, and her eyes are especially expressive. Power/Skill: 'Fyre' is known as such because her powers allow her to absorb her phoenix into herself, causing her wings to explode in size and become of flame. She can breathe powerful phoenix flame, make her body blindingly radiant at will, gains improved flying ability. And her ultimate ability is the phoenixes revival abilities, meaning she will burst into flame and be reborn eventually from her own ashes if she is ever killed before her time. Weapon of Choice: Carries no weapons. Background: Twinkle was a pegasus born to earth pony parents, both of whom were naturalists and researchers who gave their daughter a strong sense for the environment. She studied and found a talent for animal rearing, but more specifically the care for the exotic phoenix, which were largely left alone on the borders of pony civilization. Her job involved her living on the fringes of pony society, devoting her time to studying phoenixes and making positive changes to their habitat. She befriended one specific phoenix, that on the day of the Sunburst was linked in body and soul to her. While she was loathe to leave her beloved phoenixes, she understood that her powers gave her a new duty, and she left to join THE COALITION OF UNUSUALLY TALENTED PONIES in all caps. Personality: Fyre is cheerful and almost overpoweringly so, almost animalistic at times in her lack of common pony courtesy, like table manners and personal space. She is stubborn, does not learn her lessons easily, and she has a strong need to always be right, almost in an alpha female way where she will physically hurt others when she feels they are threatening her 'dominance'. Her personality remains mostly the same when her phoenix enters her, if anything she becomes a bit more tempered with the age and 'wisdom' of her friend within. She is a bit of an idiot at times.
20. Penumbra looked infinitely better at night, when she was actually working with her sleep cycles instead of against them. Her hair was not frizzy, her coat was not as frizzy, she actually resembled a normal mare. Perhaps she could have even been called pretty, if looked at from a far enough distance, without proper lighting. She trotted easily, with a bit of sway in her step. It was how she liked to move when she felt strong, when her usual exhaustion was gone. She had a night off from her weather shift, so she could instead hit a few clubs, try to make some new friends. Penumbra was heading toward a new club, apparently founded in a former speakeasy or something like that. It was a classy little joint that she had little chance of getting into, but it was worth a shot. She was sure that she looked presentable enough to make it past security. The music and food were supposed to be really upscale, and really expensive. So Penumbra had to hope she had the funds on her to get in...
21. Penumbra intended to absolutely enjoy her Nightmare Night, and she had meant it absolutely. Her hooves were sore, the makeup she'd put into her rather convincing interpretation of Nightmare Moon was beginning to run. But her spirits were high, and for once she actually had energy in abundance, as this was the time of day- night, technically- that she'd really rather be up and active. So she had taken to the night with gusto, going everywhere possible, even collecting a bit of candy. Not too much, as she was an adult mare and it wasn't her job to take too much from the little foal's possible sweet hauls, but just a bit here and there to boost her, give her the energy for her next stop. She passed a Sapphire Shore's she'd taken a double take at- since 'she' had been a 'he' upon really close examination- a waffle she'd also taken a double take at- because, well, she was a waffle- entered her next destination. Into a house of mirrors, or rather the house of mirrors that Celestia herself had contributed to the event, which Penumbra tried to go to each year. She had so far gotten into it every year running since she had been just a little foal with an actually normal sleep schedule. Yet each time there were surprises waiting, things she had never noticed before, things she had noticed that somehow still managed to trip her up. The mirrors she was passing now showed her galloping when she was actually just doing an easy trot... Wait, why did she look terrified in the mirror? And man, she really needed to redo her makeup. Nightmare Moon was not so intimidating with mascara dripping down her cheeks. Okay, still terrifying, but in a different way.
22. Penumbra broke character for a moment with a giggle and a big smile, beside herself with her success, enjoying her playacting. "Am I really that good?" Her voice reverted to normal for a moment there, a pretty happy voice, with a bit of a bass squeak. "Thank you so much, the both of you look great as well! Oh, uh, I mean..." She coughed, picked up her momentum again after a moment out of character. Penumbra's grasp of her character was so strong that she sneered slightly when she was called 'Princess', snorted. "You caught yourself in time, little pony. I would have had your head for that slip." Voice dripping with ire, Penumbra decided she'd take the time to learn something new while she could. "Explain to me what I shall do with these pumpkins you speak of. Quickly now, I don't have all night."
