  6. Name: Daring Do Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Pegasus Nationality: Equestria Organization: N/A Appearance: Will a photo suffice for the coloration and physique and such? http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2012/036/9/4/reflective_daring_do_by_xn_dragon-d4orrhs.png Cutie Mark: A compass rose. This mark appeared to Daring Do when she was a young filly, she had managed to lose herself in the Everfree Forest. Though terrified, the young mare braved the wild forest creatures, using trickery, speed, and flight to outmaneuver them and spare herself a gruesome end. After an exhausting day where she nearly died several times, the now unwillingly experienced pegasus managed to find her way to safety. She earned her mark, which signified her ability to find her way out of unknown places with nothing but her wits. Origin/Residence: A mare born in Ponyville, currently resides in Cloudsdale. Occupation: Retired adventurer for the Princess, current flight theory instructor. Personality: Despite her relative youth, Daring is a mare who has seen much, and it shows in the weariness of her gaze. She is patient and understanding, and is often with helpful advice to dispense to those ponies she finds in trouble. Daring has a dry wit, and is highly pessimistic; even when helping others she will often assume the worst. Though she's fit she has an acquired disdain for physical activity and she will try to worm her way out of any task that requires expenditure of physical effort. She constantly speaks as if tired and bored, and her general aura is somewhat gloomy. Family: Daring Do was born in distant relation to Ditzy Doo- or Derpy Hooves- and spent much of her youth with the bumbling but kindly mare. Daring was always a hothead and a risk taker, which culminated in the experience that earned her cutie mark. Following the earning of this mark, Daring decided that she would join the Royal Guard, and traveled to Canterlot. It was here where the legendary adventures of Daring Do began. Daring failed to make the cut for the guard due to her youthful rash behavior, but she caught the eye of Princess Celestia with her namesake- her daring and boldness- which resulted in Daring Do being assigned to track down ancient artifacts and treasures that lay beyond the safe borders of Equestria. Daring Do took on the task eagerly. Daring Do's adventures were both exciting and life-threatening from the get go, and the mare relished the chance to serve her country and be so entertained at the same time. Her skills proved handy, and she was the unstoppable hand of Celestia whose prowess earned Equestria many additions to it's archives and expansions of Daring's prestige. She was greeted at home with fanfare and parties, and she was the toast of Canterlot's society in her early days. Uncomfortable with the attention, Daring convinced the Princess to hush up further news of her quests and deeds, and the name of Daring Do soon faded into obscurity. Just the way Daring wanted it to be. She remained highly active, and within two years of her selection for the job she had managed to fill an entire wing of The Canterlot Archives herself. Ahuitzotl, her long standing archrival, first made her acquaintance during a quest to retrieve a clutch of petrified dragon eggs for Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. The dog-like beast had the same intentions in mind, intending to hatch the eggs for his own vaguely nefarious purposes. The two were almost matched in wit and skill, but Daring proved herself to be the bolder of the two, managing to retrieve the eggs despite nearly flooding the chamber they were in with lava. Ahuitzotl found himself jealous of the bravado of the mare that had bested him, and he devoted all his energy into somehow one upping her. Thus began a competition between the two, Ahuitzotl declaring personal war on Princess Celestia and her dutiful pegasus and vowing to best Daring someday. Daring for her part was amused by the yappy dog and his little schemes. The incidents of the Griffon Claw, the Dimensional Door, the Anarchist and the Oyster, the Sapphire Stone. In all of these incidents Daring won the day. But it was the last that changed her life forever. Daring injured her wings in a crash landing during the retrieval of the Sapphire Stone, a powerful artifact indeed. But Ahuitzotl had finally found the way to beat Daring- by rigging the very contest they 'played'. He had faked the letter from Princess Celestia ordering her to retrieve the statuette. The statuette had one magnificent, horrible power: to freeze the physical state of the body of anypony who activated it forever with a hex so strong and ancient even the Princess could not undo it without risking the life of the pony in question. Ahuitzotl counted on Daring's natural curiosity and hotheadedness; she activated the Stone, and her wings were rendered useless. Forever. Princess Celestia had Ahuitzotl thrown into a dungeon and banished at once for his actions, which had finally crossed a line. She offered to risk a reversal of the hex. But Daring had, in the sheer trauma of the affair, lost much of her youthful spirit. She had seemingly grown ten years in the blink of an eye. Daring Do not only declined her Princess, she also retired from adventuring. Forever...? She moved to Cloudsdale and lived a quiet life, though she reminisced on old times by ghostwriting the Daring Do series that has since become an Equestrian favorite. The mare behind the series however, hides away from the public, keeping her name and history secret. EDIT: No idea whats wrong with the font sizing, sorry.
  7. ((I'm pretty sure I've been accepted? Unless I'm wrong? http://www.canterlot.com/topic/10950-camp-whitetail-ooc-discussion-and-applications/page__st__160#entry264021))
  8. That was a pun?! Ah, those two are my exact two favorites as well! But I don't ship them together, personally. Doesn't stop me from reading this fic, just saying.
  9. What do you mean see you in other forums? Don't you like ours...? Anyways, welcome to the RP darling!
  10. ^ I hope he didn't bug- wait I already made this joke in another introduction. My question would be: Do you have fanfiction? And welcome to Canterlot dear! We don't bite, except for me.
  11. ^ Don't worry if s/he bugs you... Sorry guys that was terrible. Anyways, welcome to Canterlot dear!
  12. A girl was one of those already seated around the campfire, making small talk with those little boys and girls around her. Not that it was really sensible for her to think of them as little, since they had all at least started on puberty by this point. Wordplay cracked her knuckles slightly, excusing herself out of a conversation to pay attention to a newcomer. She felt it would be in her best interest to talk to as many people as possible, get introductions out of the way so they could go on to the fun stuff once the counselors began orientation. Her horn glinted in the light as she nodded slightly at a pretty tall guy who was making his way towards the center- Aurron- and gestured at an empty spot next to her.
  13. It's quite ready, unless I'm missing something here?
  14. Well then here's a not-shy human/pony/furry thing. Name: Wordplay Age: 14 Gender: Female Race: Unicorn Current Place of Residence: Manehattan Have You Attended Camp Whitetail Before?: Not possible Hair Color: A minty blue with streaks of lighter, almost faded blue running through. Eye Color: Minty green. Cutie Mark: A cursive 'a' superimposed onto a microphone, appears as a tattoo exposed on the side of her neck; symbolizes her love of rap. Physical Description: Average height, with bits of baby fat still around her stomach and legs but good tone already developing elsewhere. She's lithely built, a bit boyish in her body shape yet she's also petite and small which belays her fiery personality. Her hair is very carefully styled into a shape that shows off a good amount of volume and is held firmly in place with hair spray. She wears nice clothes, usually simple t-shirts and skirts of neutral tones like grays and whites; she is never without her favorite leather jacket which is tailored to her body to show off what little curvature she actually possesses. She wears black tinted sunglasses that completely hide her eyes away. She wears no makeup but she has a cute babyface and even has a small fang-like tooth that shows when she smiles. Personality: Wordplay is bold and aggressive; she rarely takes no for an answer. This doesn't mean she's violent, rather she enjoys being diplomatic and talking her way around people. Unfortunately she has a rather strong tongue, and she's very blunt with others; going so far as to insult and demean others when she feels it's necessary. She's not above belittling elders, friends, and she makes no excuses for her caustic behavior. She means well though she has a bit of an ego and a fame complex, she treats her friends well and is quick to help them out with their problems in her own way. Of course she's not afraid to make sharp observations at their expense the whole while. Likes: Rapping, reading, writing, working out, being witty and funny, ponies who respect her. Dislikes: Ponies who disrespect her: this includes demure behavior as she finds it insulting, being inactive, losing her train of thought, cooking. Character Bio: Get ready for this ladies and gentlecolts. Unh. A filly like no other, afillyation with ya mother. Whoops, sorry me, that's my personality. Innocent, yeah right! Watch as I take flight. Pegasus, alright. My body, alight. Gettin' ya satisfied. Whoop. That's right. Heh. Like the rhymes? I'm Wordplay, I'm new to these parts and I hope you've got some awesome campers for me to meet. Don't worry, I won't try to 'perform' for ya'll. I'm still learning the ropes, myself. My flow in person is still pretty bad. At any rate, I came to this camp because I was curious. Besides, the courses you're offering look like they could be a big help for me and my goals. So, uh, I guess that's it? Don't worry about me, please. I don't bite. Too much. Bite me, bite me; I think you're a vampony. In fact I think you're sparkling. Just ask Sparkle, she's on that thing. I'm better about this in person, I swear. -Wordplay Activities You're Interested In: -Creative Writing (Rarity) -Swimming (Rainbow Dash) -Unicorn Magic Lessons (Twilight Sparkle) -Magic Duels (Twilight Sparkle) -Camp Dance Planning (Pinkie Pie) -Storytelling (Pinkie Pie) -Hand Fishing (Applejack) Final Notes: She really is better about it in person.
  15. Alright, I get it. Would a semi-canon character be acceptable? I'd like to apply with a version of Daring Do.
  16. I see all the hookups, for I am an admiral. ALRIGHT LE'DOTHIS. Name: Cheerilee Gender: Mare Race: Earth Pony Brief History: West Fillydelphia, born and raised... Cheerilee was an awkward young mare when growing up, noted by her peers as a poser and doormat who constantly tried to placate everypony in her school. She only earned her cutie mark when she mellowed out and began to treat other ponies in the way she wanted to treat them- like her little fillies and colts. She was still a loser for some time, but other ponies realized she meant well and began to look to her as a motherly figure. Her nurturing habits earned her a job as a teacher in Fillydelphia, but she moved to Ponyville after hearing that it had a shortage of schools. She teaches many fillies and colts now, and couldn't be happier... though she's still just a bit of a loser. Looks: Just have a photograph: http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/100/7/2/another_cheerilee_vector_by_spittiepie-d3dp400.png Cutie Mark: A set of three flowers that signifies her nurturing and caring nature. The specific story of how Cheerilee earned her mark was as follows: a pretty filly in school who always abused Cheerilee's trust was herself hurt by the meanness of a group of even snootier and cuter foreign exchange students. Cheerilee selflessly comforted the hurt filly, despite the pain that filly had put her through, and the two became genuine friends. At that moment Cheerilee's mark appeared. Personality: Cheerilee's name is very apt, as the teacher mare is constantly happy though willing to be disciplinary when students are out of line. She always tries to find the positive in any situation even if it's personally hurting herself or others. She can be a bit awkward at times however, and has a tendency to blabber and say things she shouldn't. She also has trouble forming friendships and relationships with ponies that aren't younger than her; being so used to her job. Thus, why she has no stallion and or marefriend. Likes and Dislikes: Cheerilee loves her students and loves teaching. She dislikes anything that could possibly hurt her students. Beyond this Cheerilee also loves gardening as a hobby. Random Fact: She once thought this was a good idea: http://i55.tinypic.com/j6s7s6.png Anything I Left Out: ... -On the playground was where she spent most of her days. Chillin' and relaxin' but not lookin cool and not shootin' some b-ball outside of her school when a couple of mares who were up to no good started making trouble in her neighborhood. She friended one little girl and her flank was marked: that's when the idea for her teaching was really first sparked. She was looking for a job and when she found one it was with little fillies and it was very fun. She thought she'd stay home but it was run of the mill so she said "eh forget it" on to Ponyville! She taught mares and colts and even crusaders so she said to her lameness "yeah yeah, see ya later!" But she's still kind of weird so it's time to say: Let's see what happens here on Hearts and Hooves Day... That was terrible. Other than that the apps fine, right?
  17. ^ Good way of looking at it. Rarity could have a variety of behaviors because she feels the need to present herself differently to different people. Fits her character, and (at her best times, at her worst times it obviously backfires) the idea of Generosity. Being generous and gracious enough to show people what they want to see from you.
  18. How much are you going to control the RP/fanfic? Also, shouldn't this be in Writing Discussion?
  19. Hey, I've done worse. Besides, it takes a while for apps to be processed on this site, so you could leave an application for the RP stewing for a while without worrying about losing time IRL.
  20. Just do exactly what the teacher asks and- oh who am I kidding I suck at school papers too. I just realized I've never actually seen Rarity/Rainbow Dash in fanfic. That's weird. Guess it's a rare paring?
  21. Do you have fanfiction? Welcome to Canterlot, dear!
  22. So essentially you like everypony. Welcome to the RP, darling.
  23. ... Gaia!?!!??!?!?! Okay it's not that big a deal, but I wanted to be theatrical there. Welcome to Canterlot darling!
