  1. As Carrot Cake looked around the room for Pound Cake, he suddenly found himself with a faceful of Pumkin's little hooves as she seemed to be struggling to get away from him. "Pumpkin! What's gotten into you?" he said as Pumpkin slipped out of his hooves and onto the floor. Mr. Cake reached his hooves out to pick her up again, then he noticed that she was crawling towards the pile of toys in front of the toy chest. It was then that he realized that the pile of toys hadn't been there before, he and Cup Cake had put them away when they put the twins to sleep, yet now they were scattered scattered in front of the toy chest. Something suddenly clicked in his mind as galloped overand began diggin through the toy pile, throwing about everywhere. Sure enough, there was Pound looking up at him from the pile. "Pound Cake! How did you get under there?" Mr. Cake asked as he surveyed his surroundings once more. "More importantly, how did you two manage to break that lamp?" he asked, giving the two foals stern looks before letting out an exasperated sigh. "Well, in any case, it's probably not a good idea to leave you around all these broken pieces." he said as he scooped both Pound and Pumpkin up into his foreleg and placed them both on his back before heading downstairs. "Looks like these two little rascals decided to wake up earlier than usual." Carrot Cake said to Cup Cake as he returned to the kitchen with the twins on his back. "And they left a nice little mess upstairs too…"
  2. Muffin Top only heard bits and pieces of what Neame was say as he enjoyed his muffin, or at least the top of it. What he did pick up on, he didn't understand very much of, but he did help Neame out during her explanation, holding down the rolled-up parchment as the griffoness laid it out on the table. He was, however, very much impressed by Neame's elaborate painting, especially considering that up until a few months ago, the only paintings he'd ever seen were a couple rural farm themed paintings that hung around the house that he grew up in. Apparently, he wasn't the only one that was interested in Neame's painting, as Muffin noticed a sizeable crowd of ponies gathering around them. He couldn't help but feel somewhat nervous, not really used to being the center of attention, even if they were paying more attention to Neame than him. He tried his best to ignore the other ponies as he munched on his muffin, unaware of the fact that he was getting crumbs all over Neame's painting. Muffin then noticed that Neame had stopped talking and was now looking at him, prompting him to simply smile as he replied, "Er, I didn't really understand much of what ya said, Neame. But this is a mighty fine paintin' ya got here!" said, finishing up the rest of his muffin as Cutlass spoke. He had a bit of an easier time following what the mare was saying, nodding his head in agreement with her. "Yep, from what I heard 'bout her when I was here for Winter Wrap-Up, this Twilight sounded like one smart pony. So I recokon she oughta be able help us outta this pickle we're in." Muffin said cheerfully as he looked around once again at their spectators. "Uh… Ya think they'll wanna come too?" he said, pointing his hoof at crowd of ponies.
  3. Mr. Cake gave his wife an enthusiastic smile, "Alrighty then, let's get started on those cupcakes, Cup Cake." he said, grinning at Mrs. Cake as he began to prepare the ingredients needed for the cupcakes. It was then that the pair of them both heard a loud crash coming from upstairs, giving Mr. Cake quitea start as he nearly droped the contents of a measuring cup. "Oh no… Please tell me that wasn't what I think it was." Mr. Cake said, letting out a heavy sigh. "You keep at those cupcakes, dear. I'll go up and check to make sure the twins are okay, and clean up any mess they made. I might need to bring them down here too if they've already woken up." he said as he made his way to the stairs, unsure of what kind of disaster he would find once he got to the twins' room. "Pumpkin Cake, Pound Cake, are you al… Good Celestia, what happened here?!" Mr. Cake exclaimed as he stood at the doorway of of the twins' room to find shards of the lamp which once sat upon the end table scattered across the room, with Pumpkin Cake sitting in the middle of it all and Pound Cake seemingly nowhere in sight. "Pumpkin, are you okay?" Mr. Cake said as he picked the foal up in his hooves, inspecting her for cuts and bruises. "And just where is your brother?" he said, taking another visual sweep of the room, yet not seeing anything out of the ordinary aside from a pile of toys in front of the toy chest.
  4. Mr. Cake had just come out of the storage room with some additional ingredients, only to suddenly find himself dodging the muffin that Pinkie Pie had jsut thrown, causing him to drop the various cooking supplies that he'd been carrying back. At first he was about to open his mouth to say something, but instead he simply let out a sigh. He had been around Pinkie long enough to know that nothing he could say or do could prevent her from just being Pinkie Pie. Instead he simply began to answer Pinkie's question. "Well, we do have quite a few to fill today, and…" It was then that Mr. Cake was suddenly interrupted as he heard hte voice of a customer coming from the next room. "Oh, looks like we have a customer. Why don't you go ahead and take care of that, Pinkie Pie?" he said nodding in agreement with Mrs. Cake, before turning to her as Pinkie left the room. "So what's next, dear?" he said, having finished picking up the rst of the dropped supplies and putting them on the counter.
  5. "Pumpkin!" Carrot Cake exclaimed as he grabbed Pumpkin Cake off of Professor Krashkop's back and hugged her tightly. "Oh thank Celestia you're okay! I thought I would have to search all over Canterlot for you!" Carrot said as his arms around his daughter tightened, happy to have her in his hooves once again. "Thank you, sir." Carrot said to the professer with a wamr smile. "I can't tell you how grateful I am for... Oh, Doughnut Joe!" he said, seeming surprised, apparently he had been in such a panic before that he hadn't even noticed the name of the restaurant that he had entered. "I guess this must be Pony Joe's then. Very nice place you've got here." Carrot Cake said, having only met Doughnut Joe before now, he'd never actually been to Pony Joe's before now. He looked around while listening to Doughnut Joe, his attention going back to the stallion as he explained the mess that Pumpkin had made. "Oh no... I'm very sorry about that, Doughnut Joe." he said surveying the mess. "Pumpkin really can be a hoof-ful sometimes. Don't worry though, I'll pay for all the damges that she's done, it's the least I can do for you finding and taking care of her. How much?" Carrot asked as he produced his coinpurse from his saddlebag.
  6. Upon seeing yet another spill Muffin gathered some more napikins from the the dispenser on the table, "Don't worry, I got it ladies." Muffin said as he got down on the floor and began wiping away the spilled coffee. "Golly, ya sure are spillin' up a flood here." Muffin said as he cleaned up the mess while the waitress came with another cup of coffee and the muffin that he had ordered. "Oh, thank you, m'am." Muffin said to the waitress as he finished cleaning up the mess and took his seat back at the table. As Cutlass spoke, he promptly tore the top of the muffin from its stump, just as he ate them growing up. After Cutlass had finished, he nodded with her in agreement. "Yeah, that's what I was sayin' before."
  7. Although Carrot Cake should have been used to Pinkie Pie's random songs by now, he was very much caught offguard by Pinkie's apple song. He stood there for a moment, speechless as Pumpkin squeeled with joy, before finally talking. "Er… That was very nice Pinkie." He said, smiling nervously as he looked ahead of to see how much longer he had to wait in line. He just stood there in line as Pinkie launched into one of her usual silly ramblings. "Yes, I remember, Pinkie, it was this morning." he said in somewhat of an exasperated tone. It wasn't until he heard Inkwell's question to him regarding advice on baking that Mr. Cake's full attention turned back to Inwkell and Pinkie as he waited for Pinkie to finish giving her two cents, already having some advice in mind, "I suppose the best advice that I can give you, Inkwell, is to just be creative and have fun while you do it. And don't worry if you don't get it right the first time, every attempt is a learning experience, especially the failures." Mr. Cake said ina warm fatherly tone which abrubtly turned to a rather stern and annoyed tone as he saw The same drool covered raddle from before hit the side of Pinkie's face. "No Pumpkin! We do not throw things at other ponies!" the stallion said as he let out a sigh. "I think she's starting to pick up some of her brother's habits."
  8. Carrot Cake couldn't help but blush at Granny Smith's words as he quickly shook his head, "O-Oh no, Applejack won't be Kissing me, Granny Smith, she'll be kissing Pumpkin Cake here." he said, smiling nervously at the old mare as he motioned towards Pumpkin. Just as he looked over at the foal, however, he saw her hurling hte rattle over at Harrington Sleuth's head. Mr. Cake's eyes widened with shock upon seeing this. "Pumpkin, no!" Mr. Cake exclaimed as he quickly turned to Harrington to apologize. "I'm really sorry about that sir! This little filly's got a penchant for mischief. It didn't hit you too hard, did it?" Mr. Cake asked in a concerned tone as he was suddenly interrupted by a familiar high-pitched voice. Sure enough, it was Pinkie Pie. "Pinkie Pie? What are you doing here?" Mr. Cake asked as he began looking over Pinkie in her rather unusual getup. "And… What's with those clothes and banjo?"
  9. A few questions: Can a single character compete in multiple events at the same time? Also, can a character compete in an event even if they lost in another one?
  10. "Really? Those two troublemakers came around again?" Carrot Cake said to Granny Smith, surprised to hear that those to scheming stallions would even dare show their faces around Ponyville again, let alone Sweet Apple Acres. "Well hopefully they won't be giving you anymore trouble, especially with customers you're getting today." he added, taking another look at the line of ponies stretched out before him before turning back to Granny Smith upon hearing her question to him. "Oh, probably a couple bushels or so, I wan to make sure we have a healthy supply handy. Apple pies are popular around this time of year, and Sweet Apple Acres apples make the best apple pies!" Mr cake proclaimed proudly. "I just hope Applejack can last long enough to give Pumpkin here a kiss so I can get back to Sugar Cube Corner with these apples." Mr. Cake said, chuckling slightly as he heard another pony approaching him then greeting him. Carrot Cake turned around and came face-to face with a black stallion whom he had a bit of a hard time placing at first. "Oh, hi there! Uh.. Inkwell, wasn't it?" Carrot cake said, nodding to Inkwell's question to him. "That's right, can't have apple pies without apples, after all." Mr. Cake said, giving Inkwell a friendly smile. "Good thing I brought Pumpkin here along with me though, otherwise I might have a bit of explaining to do when I got back home." he said, laughing nervously.
  11. I don't think Cadence could use the voice, the flashback to her being a foalsitter implies that she is still fairly young, so she wouldn't have been around back when it was used.
  12. Carrot Cake nodded in agreement at Harrington's words, "Well whoever told you that wasn't lying, you'll find some of the best apples in all of Equestria here." Mr. Cake proclaimed proudly. "Oh, I'm Carrot Cake. My wife and I run a bakery located in the middle of town, the Sugar Cube Corner. We're running low on apples back at the shop, so I came here to get some more. Won't use any apples in my baked goods other than Sweet Apple Acre Apples. Say, while you're in town, maybe you'd like to come by there to get some additional supplies for this trip of yours?" Mr. Cake said grinning to the Harrington, always being on the lookout for potential new customers. His attention was diverted, however, when Granny Smith came over. "Oh, hi there, Granny Smith." he said, not being able to help but chuckle at the faces that she was making at Pumpkin Cake. "I gotta admit, setting up a kissing booth to boost your sales is a pretty good idea! Maybe I should try convincing Cup Cake to do one over at Sugar Cube corner." Mr. Cake said jokingly. "So how is Applejack holding up? I'm guessing that kissing all these ponies is turning out to be an uh… interesting experience for her." he said, blushing slightly at the subject of their conversation.
  13. Carrot Cake trotted leisurely along the dirt road leading up to Sweet Apple Acres. The Sugar Cube Corner had been getting low on apples lately for the shop's various apple treats, and this morning they had really began to stretch their remaining apple supply thin. So, Mr. Cake decided that it was time he pay another visit to the Apple family for some more apples. Although he wasn't going alone, Pumpkin Cake was along for the trip, riding along in a foal carrier hanging off the side of her father's back. When Sweet Apple Acres finally came into view, the stallion was quit surprised to see a fairly decent-sized line on their property. "Oh, wow, they sure have got quite a crowd today. I wonder what the occasion is…" he said, to no one in particular, aside from the little foal on his back. It was then that Mr. Cake noticed the banner proclaiming "Sweet Apple Acres First Annual Apple Kiss." "'Apple Kiss?' I wonder what that could…" Mr. Cake ended up answering his own question, however, as he noticed that the line lead to Applejack, standing behind a booth. It was at that moment that everything clicked into place. "Ohh, a kissing booth. Very bold sales method, I'll give them that." he said, letting out a little chuckle. Although Carrot Cake had to admit that he found the idea of Applejack having to kiss every customer that came to Sweet Apple Acres that day to somewhat amusing, but at the same time he knew that Cup Cake probably wouldn't approve of him getting kissed by another mare, even if it was for a bushel of apples. As he pondered the situation for a moment, wondering if he should just come back tomorrow instead, Mr. Cake suddenly remembered the little foal tucked away on his side. Turning to Pumpkin Cake, he gave her a little grin, then looked back towards the kissing booth. "Hmm… I suppose Applejack might not mind catching a break and kissing a cute foal for a change. Come on Pumpkin, let's go get some apples!" he said as he got into line behind a the stallion, Harrington Sleuth. Mr. Cake greeted the stallion with smile. "Hello there, sir. Are you here for some apples as well?"
  14. Muffin Smiled and blushed slightly as Neame hugged both him and Cutlass. "Aww schucks Neame, don't think nuthin' of it." Muffin said nervously, still not quite used to female company himself, let alone getting hugged by one, even if it wasn't another pony. As their attention turned back to the now-clean Rainbow Dash, Muffin was a bit confused by the look of disappointment on Neame and Cutlass's, yet he simply shrugged it off, nodding in agreement with Neame's suggestion. "Yeah, that's a good idea! I reckon someone like Miss Rainbow Dash would know everypony 'round these parts." Muffin said enthusiastically as Cutlass got Rainbow Dash another coffee and explained their situation to her. "It'd really be alotta help to us, Miss Rainbow." Muffin added after Cutlass's explanation. "Y'see, Neame here is tryin' to look for some ol' city where a bunch of Griffon's used to live, but she ain't had no luck findin' anything 'bout this place so far. The only thing she hasn't done is asked the Princess, but the Princess is mighty hard to see these days." he continued as he took a seat at the table that Rainbow Dash had been sitting at. "So that's when I remembered hearing about some student of the Princess's livin' here when I was helpin' with Winter Wrap-Up, and I say, 'Hey, we should go to Ponyville and see if she knows anything.' And well… here we are!" Muffin finished with a grin on his face.
  15. Carrot Cake was helping a customer when Derpy and a stallion that he'd never seen before walked in through the doors of the Sugar Cube Corner. He kept track of them as he placed a freshly-baked cake on the counter for the customer, not taking him long at all to figure out that the two of them were, in fact, on a date. Mr. Cake couldn't help but grin as he watched the clearly-nervous stallion take a seat at a table with Derpy, it kind of reminded him of how nervous he used to get around fillies when he was younger. With the bits now exchanged, Mr. Cake gave the customer a smile and farewell. "Enjoy your cake m'am, and remember to come back to Sugar Cube Corner in the future for all your baked good needs." The older mare nodded to Mr. Cake with smile then took her cake and left, allowing the stallion to turn his attention towards Derpy and her date. "Hello there, Derpy. Always nice to see you here." Carrot Cake said, smiling at the pegasus mare. "So who's your friend?" he said, turning to the stallion.
  16. Well I'm kinda thinking that SonicRainboomGirl should go next.
  17. Carrot Cake was barely able to keep up with Pinkie Pie past the first few words she had spoken. As soon as he saw that she was donning her goggles, however, he was quickly able to deduce what Pinkie was doing: yet another one of her cooking experiments. Carrot Cake felt as if his stomach just dropped a few stories upon realizing this, he was always nervous when Pinkie experimented like this, often her experiments ended up making huge messes and sometimes even broke appliances. He wasn't able to give this much thought as he was hit by the seemingly endless barrage of words that Pinkie was practically hurling at him. At the end of her long-winded monologue, Carrot Cake looked as if he'd just been hit by a strong gust of wind. He stood there silently for a moment, trying to make some sense of what he'd just heard. "Cookie... omelettes?" Carrot Cake repeated, unsure of what to make of this rather unusual dish that Pinkie had mentioned. Instead he just let out a sigh. "Okay, Pinkie, just be careful and try not to make too big of a mess. I'll be up front, helping the customers." he said leaving the kitchen again through the saloon-style wing doors and going back out into the main area. Stepping back behind the counter, Carrot Cake surveyed the group of ponies gathered in Sugar Cube Corner before speaking up. "Hello everypony. In case Pinkie hasn't done so, welcome to Sugar Cube Corner, it's always nice to see so many new customers, and you to, Applebloom." he said to the filly with a smile, the only familiar face in this crowd of out-of-towners. "So go ahead and take as much time as you need to look around, I'll be right here if you need me." he finished as he looked over in the direction of Timid's dog Boney, who had gotten the attention of both Muffin Top and Shooting Star. "Aw, he sure is a friendly lil' fella." Muffin Top said as he gave the dog a pat on the head with his hoof, while Carrot Cake regarded the dog with nervous stare. "Uh, excuse me… Does that dog belong to either one of you? Please keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't get near the merchandise." he said in a calm-yet serious tone, prompting Muffin to stare back at quizically. "Huh? Oh! Naw, he ain't our dog, this lil' guy belong to Timid Star over there." Muffin said, pointing a hoof over in the direction of the colt as he talked with Applebloom.
  18. [so uh, are we going by post order here? Who's post is it now? o.o;]
  19. Muffin Top backed away from the now-tan pegasus as she confronted Neame, he braced himself for a seemingly inevitable confrontation between the two strong-willed females. To his surprise, however, it didn't come. Instead what he saw was Neame suddenly acting in an apologetic manner, a complete turn-aroudn from where she was before. Muffin couldn't bring himself to say anything for a moment as he watched the griffoness apologize to the pegasus mare, then to both himself and Cutlass. He was already starting to feel bad about those complaining to himself about her a moment earlier, even though they were just thoughts. He then found himself nodding in agreement with Cutlass's words. "Yeah, Cutlass is right; there ain't nuthin' for you to be apologizing about. It's your first day out travelin, the first day was hard for me too. But don't you worry 'bout a thing, we'll find that student of the princess's and be to this old city of yours before ya know it!" Muffin said, offering Neame a warm smile. He was then caught offguard by Cutlass's sudden outburst at the Pegasus mare. "Huh, ya mean you know her, Cutlass? Y'know that's funny, 'cause when I saw her sittin' over in the, I coulda sworn I'd seen her somewhere before." Muffin said as he turned to the pegasus, completely unfamiliar with the Daring-Do series and not noticing the uncanny resemblance that her stained face bore to the adventure novel heroine, instead only seeing a coffee-stained of a mare with a previously-cyan coat. "Oh, ya still have coffee all over ya, and some sugar in yer mane too, lemme help ya with that, m'am…" he said as he wiped a little bit of the coffee away from the mare's face as well as some of the sugar from her mane, revealing her cyan coat beneath and rainbow mane. Upon seeing her face for the second time, Mfufin instantly recognized her. "Now I remember! I saw you 'round here when I helped out at Winter Wrap-Up. You were shoutin' out stuff through one of them… uh, whattya call 'em… Megaphone!" Muffin Top said excitedly, happy to run into at least one familiar face since their arrival in Ponyville, even if he didn't know her name.
  20. Muffin Top came up to the counter after Neame left and quickly made his order, "Uh... I think I'll just have a muffin, blueberry." he said as he watched Neame complain to no one in particular. He let out a sigh as he saw this. Couldn't that griffon learn to mellow out a little bit? Here was a griffoness who lived a lush and pampered lifestyle, and she was even getting her wish to find out what these dreams of hers mean. Yet in spite of all of this, she didn't seem very happy at all, if anything she actually seemed to be even more irritable ever since they left Canterlot. Why was she even here if she was so miserable? This thought also brought another question to Muffin's mind, one that he really hadn't gotten a chance to ponder yet: Just why was he here? Because it was either run off with Neame and Cutlass or get arrested in Canterlot of art vandelism? Now that he was out of Canterlot, he could just leave them, yet at the same time, he didn't feel he could. Perhaps it was his mother's teachings to always help a female in need, or maybe it was just because Neame was one of the few friends that he'd made on this journey of his, but Muffin felt an obligation to help see this expedition through. Besides, wouldn't seeing a lost ancient city be an impressive sight to see? As he followed Neame to their seat, however, Muffin couldn't help but notice the cyan, rainbow-maned pegasus sitting at the table that Neame was passing. He wasn't sure why, but for some reason she looked very familiar to him. Had he seen her the last time he was in ponyville? Before he could think on it any further, however, he heard Neame let out a scream of pain. "Gah! Wh-What happened?" Muffin asked in somewhat of a panicked tone, but he quickly figured out what was going once he spotted Neame flailing about with coffee dripping off her wings and Cutlass trying to wipe her off with some napkins in her mouth as well as the pegasus who's coffee was spilled, some of which ahd gotten onto her as well. "Aw schucks... Er, sorry 'bout your coffee, m'am." Muffin said, deciding to take the iniative to help the pegasus while Cutlass helped Neame, grabbing some napkins in his mouth.
  21. Carrot Cake was in panic mode; somehow Pumpkin Cake had managed to slip away from him while he wasn't looking, and what's worse was it had to happen in a big city like Canterlot. Mr. Cake had planned this trip to Canterlot awhile ago, the purpose of it was to sample some local cuisine to perhaps get some new ideas for his own bakery, and pick up a few ingredients that were hard to come by in Ponyville. Cup Cake had encouraged him to bring Pumpkin Cake along with him as well, saying that it would be a good bonding experience for the two of them. While initially not to fond of the idea of having to babysit while on this trip, Mr. Cake eventually relented, figuring that it would be easier on his wife to share some of the load rather than leaving both twins alone with her. The long train ride to Canterlot was uneventful enough, Pumpkin was well behaved. They played, she ate, and then napped, she was on her best behavior. Pumpkin had continued to stay on her best behavior even while Carrot Cake was looking around at the various bakeries and marketplace stalls that carried all sorts of unique ingredients. It was while he was preoccupied with browsin the merchandise in one particular stall that he suddenly noticed that his foal-carrier that he was wearing had gotten inexplicably lighter. Upon noticing this, Mr. Cake turned his head to see that, to his dismay, Pumpkin was now longer in her carrier. Pumpkin was struck with terror by this realization, realizing that Pumpkin must've used her magic to either lift herself out of the carrier, or to teleport her to Celestia-knows-where. Carrot Cake had now frantically searched every stall in the marketplace and had barged into various businesses asking if they'd seen his daughter, some of whom would simply answer no, while others would ask him to leave because he was scaring off customers. Finally he came to Pony Joe's, a local establishment run by Doughnut Joe, his competitor-turned-associate from the National Dessert Competition. Mr. Cake had briefly met Joe once while he was in Ponyville puttin the finishing touches on his Donutopia, but at the moment the owner of the establishment was the last thing on the earth pony's mind as he burst through the door of Pony Joe's and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Has anypony seen a unicorn foal around here?! Yellow coat, orange mane… And… Please, I need to find her!" Mr. Cake shouted franitcally, his lower lip quivering in a mix of fear and anger.
  22. Well what kind of direction are you planning on going with this RP? I mean, I can either have Mr. Cake show up at the donut shop right away, or I could have him search around canterlot for awhile. Again, this depends on what kind of direction you're wanting to go in with this RP.
  23. Okay sure, but could I just get a quick rundown of everything that has happened in the thread so far and anything that has been retconned due to the continuity error?
  24. I'm actually thinking that it might make more sense for him to be in Canterlot to sample the local cuisine, maybe get some ideas for his own business. I mean deliveries don't exactly sound like the Sugar Cube Corner's thing. Maybe he brings Pumpkin along with him and at some point she just slips away while he's distracted?
  25. Yeah, it might be a good idea to have Carrot Cake make the delivery himself, if it doesn't disrupt continuity that is.
