A giggle has been caused.

I have the Mane 6, Roseluck and the glitter variants of Pinkie, Twilight and Rainbow from blind bags. A ton of the cards. (got a foil Celestia the other day!) My Coloring book. And today I got the Crystal Pony mini set with the Mane 6 and a 7th pony called Emerald Ray I think, and the Wedding mini set with Cadance for my birthday!

So I've had a second submission auto rejected by EQD for grammatical problems. I wish I knew what program they use. It would be nice to be able to see exactly what it's flagging, and if it's in english.

From the USA. Open my front door and all you see is corn. Open the back and it's beans to the horizon.... *sigh* Never been to another country, but want to go somewhere that actually has a deep history/culture. As far as refuting, even in the US there is a lack of understanding at how huge and diverse the USA is compared to most other countries. I've traveled a little bit and even being in country I've been to whole other worlds here.

Well, I found a way to wrap it up. I don't really feel like I did the mane 6 true justice, but I gave it what I had and that story is done. 14 chapters, 20K words. Now to figure out what to do next.

So today I am posting the "end" of my "Twilight Years" fan fic. I would be open to continuing it if the characters and followers both want there to be more. I am also working on putting together my submission packet to send my vampire novel to a publisher. There comes a point when a pony just has to say enough is enough and toss the dice. Even if it doesn't get picked up, I'll e-publish it myself. But this is the first step. And that on top of some pressing blacksmithing projects. Be a busy B-day.

I found it tearful as well. There is a sequel that I don't think is by the same author. It's not as good well written, but does help with that "Dear Celestia WHY," feeling I had at the end of Dashie.

Ditto And that word "semantics" keeps coming up lately! Try reading the web with Ponify turned on. It will cause brain damage after long term use.

That's interesting, I've seen some that look like they just have 2 lit. Of course I work in a printing plant so I fully understand how inconsistent such a subtle coloring difference can be.

The collectible trading cards list the type for each pony. The Princesses are listed as unicorns and pegasus, but earth pony isn't highlighted.

Reading and writing are both creative forms of escapism. I don't see watching movies or games as creative in the same way as reading. The images and world are already there for you in those, but in reading even you have a world described to you but it is your mind that renders the images and casts the characters. The world was built for you, some assembly required. Then there is writing. You build a world from scratch and populate it. Or in some cases, mark off your own corner of an existing world to decorate and modify. Now in writing my novel I've discovered that the main character doesn't always care what I want or where I think the story should go. She has her own ideas and I can follow along the best I can or she'll just leave. I've tried to redirect the story to the way I want it to flow and had it just stop. She goes on strike if I do this. As soon as I delete my version and put what she wants down it all starts to come again. So as the "creator" of worlds, do we owe anything to the inhabitants of those worlds? What are our responsibilities to these beings? Sometime I wonder if I create these worlds or just find them. If I am doing it wrong will they just pack up and find someone else to tell their tale?

I submitted one and got an auto-message saying it wasn't even being forwarded to the prereaders for "capitalization and coma usage problems." Considering I just aced a college Comp class with a 10 page research paper, I doubt my grammar is that terrible. It would have been nice if it had even been read. So I feel you on the "doubt I'm going to bother," mindset.

Well, here it is. I've done a couple of posts on FiMFiction (3 total), but in reality I've never done a blog before. I doubt I post very often, and honestly I doubt this gets read. But I have thoughts I need to shoot into the ether and get them out of my head. I've spent the last 2 years writing a vampire novel, and the beginnings of a sequel. This character has been in my head for 20 years and I finally had to put her out there. But only 5 or 6 people have read it so far. I will probably self publish this fall in ebook format, just to get her out. So for the first time I'm writing fan fiction for anything, and it's for ponies. Since I started I've become obsessed with the feedback on the stories I'm writing. Real, public feedback on my work is something new to me and I am tending to look to that for validation of my writing in general. I doubt that is healthy, but that's how I am. Now I'm considering doing some world building because I'm becoming fond of some of the concepts I'm using in my fanfic. Don't know if it is doable, or worth it, but it's nothing but thoughts fired into the dark for now.

They are the only two we have seen in bed together on screen.... (I shouldn't have gone there should I....) For me any CMC ships are just wrong. Wrong. Edit to note that for whatever reason when I clicked on this I didn't see any more than the first page, didn't know I was doing a zombie-ish reply.

The CMCs are like a pie. Only together are they great. Apart they are just a pile of mush and a crumbly dry mess.

I don't know about themes, but the style of the show I would consider more "mature" than a lot of other shows. Especially ones targeted at kids. A lot of the humor is subtle and nuanced, with a lot going on in subtext. This beats the "beat-you-over-the-head" style a lot of shows use. There are a ton of little things going on in the background that add to the flavor of the story. For me little things like Twilight going "Please tell me she's not," when Pinkie Pie started singing "Giggle at the Ghostie" add a ton to the show that you don't always see in kid's shows.

I had actually considered the possibility that she, in all reality, has the most realistic personality. I think that fits with what you are saying about complexity.

So I am writing a fan fic over on FimFiction (Shameless Plug) and found writing for Rarity very hard. I even went so far as to spend a lot of the evening looking at Rarity clips on YouTube trying to "find" her character. Everypony else seems to have some baseline that I felt I could work from without being too trope with them. Rarity on the other hand is all over the map. And I personally feel like there is a big difference between S1 Rarity and S2 Rarity. Her dramatics and style are consistent, but it feels like her moral compass is spinning wildly. Is this just me or does anypony else see this? I know that Rarity had a solid following. Can somepony point out some solid ground with her for me?

I went in this weekend and started a hold/order for it at our local comic shop. So they're going to be looking for it, order it and let me know when it's in. Sometimes small local shops are nice. The one I went to in our local "big city" wasn't nearly as good with the customer service.

I liked that. It's an interesting premise on magic in general, not just for the Ponyverse. I may borrow some of that reasoning for gaming!

Posted it last night. Probably do another one in a day or two. I don't think I'm happy with Rarity. I couldn't keep her from seeming... off. Trying to get a baseline for her, even going so far as to get on YouTube and watch clips. Her reactions are just so all over the map that I can't pin down what she would do. There seems to be a huge variation between Rarity in S1 and in S2 a lot of the time too. *sigh* I may make a thread on her to see if it's just me.
