  1. Hopefully anyone I worked with would know not to over do it to the point of making a work unreadable. I use thesauruses to help avoid extremely boring words or repetitiveness. That's what I mean by pretty sentences. And the only time I go out of my language is for something like latin, something I can find pre made phrases for. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll probably have some Idea's but see the good thing about this crossover is that you don't need much in dept knowledge on MtG to make it, which is why I planned on Collab. I I've read 7 MtG books, and have 5 more on my laptop, plus a shoebox filled with cards and I'm not completely confident in my ability to world build it. But the same time MtG is an infinite multiverse were anything and everything exists so world lots of prior knowledge is only mandatory when dealing with the situations of already established characters and factions. I will likely have some Ideas tomorrow or Tuesday.
  2. "Crystals and Energy Storage sounds like a nice read." GearShift looked around admiring the bookstore. "It's not an exact science, so there's probably something in that book that I don't know." "I bet the party gets really intense whenever you do decided to start using it like a strobe light, Neon."
  3. I'm asking for help with this. Magic: the Gathering is such an interesting universe (well multiverse but whatever) to explore that one cannot imagine NOT doing an MLP crossover with it. The hardest part of it is doing it right, I could take the easy way out and say "X character from the mane six is a planeswalker and they blah blah blah..." or do the reverse and have a planeswalker come to equestria. But like i said that's the easy way, no world building really involved and using a majority of already known characters means that not much character building is needed. I also never get the true magic the gathering feeling for any of the fics like that either. So here is what I propose. - A story that takes place after pony planeswalkers have left the plane of Equestria (1000's or 100's years later so that there is a stable pony population on several other planes). - Lots of work world building, so some veteran M:TG players or book readers. The only story i feel got the crossover feel right was Kkat's Fallout Equestria. It would be nice to make the world feel natural and not forced. - People who can remain in contact to a reasonable degree(I realize that everyone has a life, im asking for really no more then for us to respond to each others messages at least twice a week.). - None of us need to be an excellent, exceptional, or even good writer, just imaginative. I can find editors, that's not a problem and anyone with a thesaurus can make a sentence sound pretty. We just need to get the ideas on paper (figuratively). As long as our ideas are well thought out and flow nicely we can work the rest of it out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Like the planeswalker novels I'd like for there to be more than one OC main character so everyone involved will likely get a character. So who's interested?
  4. I started playing around the time the Magic 2010 set dropped in. Count me in, Im interested.
  5. "Pinkie Pie you say. I know of her, I pick up a lot of information during my travels." she said. "Ah, yes I do believe that does fall into techno magics field doesn't it?" GearShift nodded in acknowledgement. "Storing energy in cystals is quite tricky, that I know from experience." She trotted alongside Lore Weaver as he searched for her books. "Nice, I bet that's really convenient. Techno magic tries to bring convenience like that to everypony." said looking into the light Neon Bright created. "My talent is methodology meaning I can quickly comprehend and apply things through study. The talent lead me to my career and even it's what allowed my to build these." She said excitedly as she motioned towards her goggles.
  6. "Nice to meet you Lore Weaver, My name's GearShift." She with a smile. "Hmm, well you see I'm a techno - magic engineer so if you have any books on advanced mechanical engineering, harnessing and storing natural energy, and the interactions between magical and natural energies I would love to get my hooves on them." GearShift turned to the other pony who had joined her and Lore Weaver, the introduction she gave made GearShift giggle a little in her mind. "Nice to meet you Neon Bright. So if you are the second bet pony in Equestria, who's the first?" she asked with a small laugh.

  8. My little dashie was good indeed, but I didn't hit me with me feels. It simply wasn't long enough to get invested in. Now Device Heretic's Eternal had me wiping stray tears from my eyes. I wasn't even aware I was feeling what i was feeling until I felt the wetness on my cheeks.
  9. At first GearShift wasn't aware that somepony was talking to her, the mare was too engrossed on the collection of tomes. Lore's second question however, broke the mares dazed and brought the light back to her eyes. "Oh,um, sorry about that," she said as she hid a faint blush. "Yes, I'm here for the discussion."

About 6 months later Stalliongrad's Steel Rangers got word noticed the Commonwealth's forward advance and purged the settlement. The Steel Ranger squad responsible for the purging found the filly cowering behind a weapons crate and decided to bring her back to the base where she was raised and trained as a Steel Ranger until being placed in Star Paladin Strawberry Twists special Task Force. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sugar Song Sex: Female Age: Adult Species:Earth Pony Appearance: Wears brown customized destroyer power armor. History: Sugar Song is Steel Ranger through and through. Born and raised with the contingent she like most other foals aspired to be like their parents, sadly for her he father and mother were the two most well respected scribes. She didn't like the idea of scribes work as evident by her over fascination with every massive gun in the armory. So she decided to become a knight, and oh boy did she excel. During her tours as a knight she would constantly take up point positions and push forward in battle often leading to the success of her squad and her incapacitation. Eager to find a solution that would benefit everypony she began to study and modify her own armor making it sturdier and adding better battle-saddle rigs. During a fierce battle with the Griffon Commonwealth she used her modified armor to push into a heavily defended facility and rescue several of her brothers and sisters. This action put her in Star Paladin Strawberry Twist's sights. Twist offered Sugar Song a spot on her spec ops squad with the condition that Sugar Song work with the scribes and knights to make her power armor an impenetrable fortress. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Gerrad Hawkeye Alias: Agent Shadow-wing Sex:Male Age: Adult (actual age unknown) Species: Cyber Griffon Appearance: Wear a black cloak to conceal himself, yellow eyes, silver feathers, heavy augmentation. History: Gerrad has been a loyal Commonwealth agent since before the war started and was one of the original griffons chosen to be their first cyber agent. Now he lives in Gryphos with his wife and daughter. As a Commonwealth agent he specializes in stealth, melee combat, and diplomacy; he mostly carries out hit and run attacks, assassinations and negotiations with selected parties. Even though he disagrees with the way the Commonwealth are going about the reconstruction of Equestria, he believes in their goal. A griffon ruled Equestria might not be Ideal to the ponies, but it's better than the burned wasteland that they have now. Plus he has to put food on the table for his family. In the days prior to the detonation of the mega spells, he was recalled back to Gryphos and placed in cryostasis, at which point his transformation into a cyber griffon began. [post got murdered, i'll clean it up later.]
  12. GearShift had been in town for about a week studying the Everfree Forest in an attempt to understand the magical phenomenons that cause the place to defy the laws of the pony world and if their were some way to counter act it. Her research had mostly brought up more questions and those questions had their own questions, meaning that it was time for GearShift what she does best. Study! The light salmon colored unicorn was studying in her caravan cart trying to compose herself and get her finds straight. The books she had with her were a great help, but they didn't help her form ideas coherently, and that was the problem. She decided that a change of scenery would be for the best. Suddenly a thought hit her, the unicorn leaned over and dug through a stack of newspapers and fliers situated next to her and pulled out a paper detailing a discussion session at a local book store. Today, wonderful. She thought. Just what I need to sort out the mess in my head. With that GearShift put on her black leather work vest and threw her goggles around her neck. She levitated a few bits and a pocket watch into her one of her pockets and her basic tool-set into the other. She did one last double check to make sure everything was in order, content she trotted out of her cart and locked up. GearShift arrived at the bookstore after a few minutes of walking, she stepped up to the door. She adjusted her vest and ran a hoof through her red and black hair before finally walking in. The interior was wonderfully organized and the stores collection was quite impressive. Definitely need to come back here. She said to herself. She began to walk around running a hoof across the spine or several books as her amber eyes analyzed them all meticulously. She didn't even notice the two ponies in the area with her.
  13. c I agree, but I don't agree. You can't over develop a character (out of their personality) unless the ordeal is just being handled by a bad writer. Character development really has little to do with personalities (relatively), it's more than that. It's hard to explain, but characters have pulled complete heel face turns without any change in personality. The mane 6 have had no changes in personality. On Topic: I don't think twilight counts since most of the episodes are her learning friendship lessons and learning how to be a good pony. So excluding her I'd have to say Fluttershy>RD>Pinkie>Rarity>AJ From what I can tell based on what we've seen. AJ can get background development, but her persona as is currently doesn't need much adjusting. Nearly all of her most notable qualities are positive. Rarity hasn't had enough episodes about her to flesh things out. Pinkie, oh pinkie. After Party of one she needs episodes equivalent to dragonshy, putting your hooves down, and hurricane fluttershy to go into her mindset. PS Am I the only one who didn't think negatively about Rarity when I first was introduced to the character? I just thought she was acting Highbrow and meticulous. There are much worse things to be.
  14. GearShift could see the small amount of annoyance building on Ice Storm's. It probably wasn't even noticeable to most of the ponies in the party, but GearShift was use to dealing with blowhard ponies who thought they were above common folk and even more accustom to the looks the garner from the ponies around them. Serendipity was most obviously calling attention to herself, but it was truly harmless. She wasn't purposely talking over ponies heads to make them feel bad, or putting down the common pony so GearShift, in all honesty could say that she had seen much worse. "Sounds good to me." GearShift said in response to Ice Storm. "Perfect place to get our barings."
  15. Celestia's? Dear Luna, the fandom might explode... What if they do a twist and say it's Luna's foal?!
  16. While I don't believe any of the mane 6 have a disorder, none of them are 'normal'. But then again who is? I think they were just trying to say that everyone is quite crazy when the right buttons are pushed.
  17. Keep reading, he characterizes them and even explains what happened to the point that you understand both antagonists and start to have a little pity for them. Trust me when I say that Titan and Terra WERE what you are talking about. And do enjoy the story. - Lol, the fic im working on actually sounds like the way a HiE as the villan would work. - Oh geez, i wonder how that would work. - Danny Phantom throwback there, Ember anyone? - "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
  18. ALL OF MY ANGER OP, ACCEPT ALL OF IT!!! I was going to post that!!
  19. Ever heard of The Immortal Game by AestheticB? My Idea for a villian always centers around what I've seen about the world. I think Equestria is an unnatural Utopia and that Discord was nothing more than an agent for something else. For some reason I think that there was a being that let the world settle in its natural order and govern itself but Celestia and Luna seeing the suffering and hardship of ponykind used to elements on him. Because they aren't as powerful as them the most they can influence is a country, but the rest of the world remains in its natural state. Perhaps this being is sealed somewhere in the Everfree.
