Gotten into Google's Augmented Reality game 'Ingress' lately. Anyone else playing it? Are you in the Resistance or the Enlightened? My lame explanation of what it's about: Using your phone's GPS you'll find portals all over the place, mostly on landmarks of public statues etc, which show on your map. You can 'hack' them to gain items which you can use to attack enemy portals or upgrade and protect your own faction's portals. I'm in the Resistance (the Blue team) who, oddly, are in the minority. When I got my invite (closed Beta, but other people can invite or can request and invite from the link below) I got through the tutorial and found a bunch of Enlightened controlled portals right by my house!!? OH Heck-no! It's on, now! Not a game you can play sitting down at home. When you attack or hack a portal you can be attacked by its defences which means you need to physically move away from it! http://www.ingress.com

It's nice to see. I guess it's kind of an indication that we're perhaps considered one of the larger better sites, compared to all the ones that weren't shown. A Fluttershy "Yay!" for recognition.

Unfortunately, despite requesting, no one seemed interested in creating a proper "What is WoE" document (that was actually readable by human beings and not an essay). So, unfortunately you're stuck with whatever I've written.

Just to quickly note, we can activate the friends list, however, it simply doesn't do anything. It would have the same function as you bookmarking your friend's profiles in your browser. Because it doesn't have a more functional...function, it's turned off to save server resources.

This is to prevent spammers. We'd like to think that those using the chatroom want to be part of the community and not just here for a tiny little chatroom.

Please stop automatically assuming I am the person that bans users "for no reason" (I've got far better things to do with my time). The moderating team are the law here and recent bannings are because of MULTIPLE infractions, not because of the ONE thing they may have told you about.

It's just that when someone gets banned, fingers get pointed at me, even though I had nothing to do with it. It's me being 'power mad' or something, apparently... Well, I must be so MAD-POWERFUL I can ban people without even being online. My gosh I'm good!

When the server goes down (either due to something borked or the current attacks succeed) I'm afraid there's only ONE person out of 5k users that has the radical idea to get in touch with me, either by email, my personal or the site's twitter, so I can restore it. Interest Check/Would this even work? - Original Character Concept Requests

A potential problem that immediately sticks out in my mind is one of the reasons for having applications in the first place. By having users applying for RP with thought-out, well written and balanced characters you're showing us and the other RP Certified users that you are competent and aren't likely to be a one-line writer or worse. You become Certified. Having trades and collabs could mean it will become MUCH harder for new users to get accepted as the Helpers and Staff will be questioning if they've written it themselves or someone else has for them. It could also mean your RP may go downhill when new users, brandishing pre-digested characters written by their friends, enter WoE without being properly coached in the form of a proper Character application that they've put the time in themselves to make.
