1. Socks are so lovely.... Great job by the way.
2. "Yep, it really hurts, having to drag my tail across all these logs and what-not," Kelp explained, lifting his lower half for emphasis. "It takes a lot of upper body strength, which is why most hippocamp are in such great shape." he added, turning to show off his muscles. "Okeanos, it's located between Hoofington and I believe the Gallopacous?" he stated in more-or-less a question. "Uh, yeah I'm a hippocamp..." Kelp raised an eyebrow at the unicorn, a little confused. Kelp watched with a little amusement as the noblestallion got his composure back, chuckling a little. "No need for apologies, I realize I wasn't in full view. And nope, no earth pony here." he grinned big, flopping his tail a bit. He definitely should have started off with being a hippocamp, but he always forgets ponies aren't used to that sort of thing. "Nope! Not very many of my occupation down under the sea, considering most plants down there are a bit difficult to make look 'pretty' or even to take care of." he said with a slight smile. "Actually, while I wasn't expecting another on this island, I've met a few unicorns that had come to my classes." said Kelp Culler. Kelp smiled once more at the stallion's nervous laugh. Hearing talk of the Scarlet Bloodblossom, his smiled wider and said, "As long as you can take care of it properly, and I can get some pollen samples, I have no problem with you acquiring one." He added emphasis to the last part, quite serious about not messing up an ecosystem. More than once he had seen ponies take plants from places, and soon that plant population died out completely. (( I love the name, hehe. ))
3. I think I'm going to create a new OC...

4. With a solemn nod, Kelp went about shaking his mane a bit, letting the water soak in real good. "Canterlot, huh? I've never been that far inland. Can't make it, get's a little too tough." Kelp said without much thought. "And a frigate? I heard those're pretty cool," he took a break to think before adding, "Nope, didn't see it. I came up around the western end of the beach." Kelp thought about what the stallion had said, and nodded. "There aren't any, as far as I know! I live just a little ways away from Okeanos." Kelp shifted uncomfortably, realizing he was on top of a rather thick branch. With careful steps, he moved forwards and fully into view, revealing his hippocamp backside. "Yeah, I can't say I do the same!" he said with a light chuckle, himself having no sort of supplies what-so-ever, aside from a small vial. "Yep! I'm a horticulturalist, or at least that's what I prefer to be called. Most call me a gardener or landscaper." he said with a slight grimace. He felt that 'gardener' was too mundane for a hippocamp of his standard. "Oh? Does it bloom on the full moon, on these black sands? Well, brown-dirt-past-black-sands?" he said with a smile, wondering if they were after the same thing. Kelp didn't move, or so much as flinch.
5. Kelp smiled quite friendly-like, and shifted awkwardly onto one hoof, shaking the the unicorn's hoof. "Every hobby has some sort of danger." Kelp agreed, nodding rather sagely. "Coax? What an interesting name! I'm sure it fits one so interesting as yourself, though." he added, grinning. "So you got here by boat? I live not too far, so it wasn't too much trouble getting to the island." Kelp said rather off-hoofedly. Seeing the offer of water, Kelp nodded his head rather fiercely, but took it gently from the unicorn's hoof. "Yes, please!" he said, pouring a small bit of the water onto his coat. Making sure the was enough left for Coax, he gave it back with a sigh of relief. "That really hit the spot." he said, looking a bit odd. On the mention of his business, Kelp smiled big and said, "I'm here for horticultural research!" As if that explained anything.
6. Kelp struggled further through the jungle, but seeing that a lot of the growth was either chopped out of the way or burned, he moved a bit easier. And, judging by the speed in which the lantern had moved, this was definitely a land pony, or maybe some other land-dwelling creature. He had heard stories of dragons and griffons, but had only ever seen the latter. Then, with a sigh of thanks, he responded to the shout that returned, "Woah, woah! Who said anything about quarrel?" Kelp was definitely not up to a fight on land, considering how slow he moved. He didn't slow his pace towards the light, despite the warning, and within a good couple of minutes he was halfway into the clearing, his lower half hidden still. From the front, it looked as if he were sitting down. "My name's Kelp Culler." he said with a smile, the light of the lantern feeling good, but also drying him faster. "Put down the knife, please." he asked, looking a bit concerned at the pony. "Where're your friends?" he said suddenly, looking around.
7. Yep yep! I'm just waiting for -one- last thing to come in before I set it as [Ready]. Sorry!
8. Pushing further through the growth, Kelp Culler lifted his lower half once more to climb a log. The process of walking on land was quite arduous, and navigating a jungle without any source of light save for the scarce moonlight, didn't make it any easier. And he could already feel his coat beginning to dry uncomfortably. This was going to be a long night. Pushing through a particularly thick bit of vines with a grunt, Kelp stumbled forwards and onto his face. "Stupid vines!" he shouted quite loudly, going through the process of trying to get back up. With an irritated grumble he continued on wards, not stopping until he saw a light not too far ahead. "Hey! Is somepony out there?" he yelled to the light.
9. (( Silly me! I forgot to make one! Oopsies... )) Kelp Culler pulled himself along the bench, his lower have dragging against the sand and leaving a trail. He was fairly certain he was the only pony around who knew about the flower, she he did not expect very much trouble. Reaching the rougher dirt, he winced a bit. This was definitely his least favorite part about being on land. And a quick flip of his hair, he continued on into the jungle, wincing every time he slumped over a log or other rough object.
10. Oh! I have nothing but that! Hehe, take your time.
11. Hi! I don't mean to rush or anything, but I wasn't sure if you forgot me? I dunno, just curious, heh.
12. I love my Internet friends.

13. Do you ever feel like copying somebody else's status word for word just to see if they notice?

Huh, then they should really change that... I'm sure they will, soon enough.

16. Pumpkin, having not expected anypony to have noticed him, was a little startled by the sudden voice and conversation that had suddenly started. With a bit of a tremor, he replied, "O-oh, uhm, nothing. Just came to visit family." he said, trying his best smile. Which made him look like he was in pain. He wasn't very good at lying... "Truth be told, Silverbolt, I'm a bit worried about seeing them. My family, I mean." he said, this time not lying. He was surprised by how easily and calmly it slipped from his tongue, to a complete stranger, too! "I'm Pumpkin Bright, by the way." he added last-minute, worried that he had been rude by not introducing himself before dumping his problems on a stranger.
17. The full moon was high in the sky as Kelp Culler broke the surface of the waves, quickly making his way towards shore without much effort. Tonight was special: On the black sands of the Gallopocous Islands, during a full moon in spring, a blood moon would occur, and the most brilliant of dormant flowers would bloom for a short time before going back to sleep, waiting for the next blood moon. This is what Culler was here for. He was determined to pick that flower and study it further! Finally reaching the shore, he let his hooves rest in the damp black sand, relishing the tide that still licked his underside with a moisturizing caress. Kelp Culler had either find the flower fast, or find someplace he can rehydrate before his coat completely dries. But where to start?
18. Oh my nom nom nom I just wanna nom.
19. Aww, what a bummer! Could you maybe archive it? :s I'd really like to RP as him later.... And I'm not sure how I could incorporate him into cross-overs. EDIT: Change of plans; I guess I'll convert him into the crossovers? Considering the storylines of those can change rather rapidly, I'll leave his history and what-not blank, so's to edit it as I need....
20. I didn't hear or read anything that said otherwise... I sure hope they're allowed! I've got like a hundred scenes playing out in my head....
21. Hiya! I dunno if there's room for one more--I sure hope so, hehe. Could you possibly draw my latest OC: Kelp Culler? And I'm not sure how detailed you're willing to get, but I'd love it if there were wavy strands of seaweed in the foreground, and for his hair to be all wavy going upwards, too. Thanks a bunch. If you need more info, just PM me.
22. Roleplay Type: Free-For-All/Crossovers Sex: Stallion Age: Stallion Species: Hippocamp Eye colour: Sea-green in colour (#43CD80), Kelp Culler has cloud-like forms around the pupil, distorting the colour slightly, and a glossy sheen that protects his eyes. Coat colour: Culler has a tan, sandy coat (#EEDC82) Mane/Tail/Markings colour & Style: Kelp Culler's mane is long and unkempt, floating about him while under the sea. It is coloured chartreuse (#66F261) and highlighted with a deep sky blue (#00688B). When visiting the land, it is often flat and sopping wet, sticking closely to his skull, neck, and back. He has chocolate coloured (#8B4513) swirls across his coat, accented at the tips and at various intervals with what look like apostrophes, but more pronounced. One of the swirls extends to his face, and wraps around his left eye. His tail looks like a typical dolphin tail, having a predominant end-fin, and the usual dorsal fin. Aforementioned markings lightly touch his dorsal fin. Physique: Well-muscled but also trim from the need to do all of his work himself. He is much larger than the average hippocamp male, and his hooves maintain the shire-like characteristics of excess hair growth from the fetlock down that is seen in some land ponies. Cutie Mark: Kelp Culler's cutie mark is a line of wavey kelp being cut with a pair of large gardening shears. Culler got his cutie mark during his colt years, still living in Okeanos with his parents. He was participating in an after-school gardening club that was having a sort-of topiary contest, though with a large patch of multi-colour seaweed instead of traditional hedges (they are below the sea, after all…). The contest spanned around a week, each participant would visit their gardens once a day to trim their seaweed (the stuff can grow surprisingly fast!) and to plan what they were to do next. Having very little knowledge for gardening, Kelp Culler did his best to make his garden as beautiful as possible, but despite his best efforts, he came in third place. Though not all was tragedy! After having said his congratulations, his fellow class mate pointed to his fishy flank in surprise, and sure enough, his cutie mark had appeared! From that moment on he studied even harder to become better at gardening. Residence: A little ways away from Okeanos, in his own private property. While not especially rich, Kelp Culler built himself a decently sized, two-story house out of coral which had been growing on the spot. With careful planning and trimming, the large lump of coral became his home! It continues to grow, albeit impossibly slow. Culler performs monthly trimmings of his house to ensure it remains orderly. Along the sides and roof of the house small fish still live in the coral, though not inside the actual house, and sea anemones make their homes on the living coral as well, providing more shelter for certain fish! The entire home as a slightly rounded shape, even towards the top where it narrows considerably. Around his coral home he has planted sea flora of all kinds - from his so favored kelp that streams upwards towards the light of the surface, to the multi-coloured seaweed ranging from violet, to red, to green, and even blue! This makes the area around his home a bountiful garden of colour. The inside of his home is lit up by bioluminescent plants, giving of a surprisingly bright light almost all of the time! Kelp Culler's home is made up of a dining room, a sitting room, two bathrooms, one upstairs and one below, and the guest and master bedroom, which are both upstairs. Occupation: Landscaper (Both underwater and on land, though mostly underwater). Finding this name dull, Kelp Culler prefers to call himself a horticulturalist. He is often hired to plant gardens and even instruct horticulture classes in Okeanos, and with much excitement, though not often, on the surface. Kelp Culler also Dabbles in stone work, sometimes featuring it in the more expensive gardens he’s contracted to create. History: Kelp Culler was born in Okeanos, in an upper-middle-class district. He spent plenty of time outside of his house as a colt, and would often be gone for hours simply swimming around seeing what there was to see. He didn't really know where he fit in, and was eager to find his niche. This brought him through many social groups and activities that he hoped would help him find his place in the big, blue sea. He grew up with only his father to take care of him, and taking care of a child alone is a difficult thing. Culler's father worked and kept two jobs at any given time, just enough to let him and his son live peacefully. This resulted in not much contact between Kelp Culler and his father, though when there was time for the two, it was time well spent. More often than not his father would take him on small 'adventures' outside the borders of Okeanos, and show him the world that existed past his small house. Kelp Culler's life today is quite busy, much of his time spent perfecting his craft. But when he can, he does get out to swim about like when he was young, and think about what he's doing. He finds this as a soothing therapy, and he does it as often as possible. But, with all this swimming and working and practicing, he still makes time for friends and a social life! Character Summary: Culler knows his faults and strengths quite well, and never over-estimates his own ability, nor under-estimates it, either. He is quite good at what he does, and he's not afraid to let everypony know! His stonemason work is less than brilliant, but still acceptable by his standards. When it comes to his gardens and his looks, he'll take nothing less than perfect! This makes him rather anal with some ponies, which is why he prefers to work solo, rather than with a team, even if it would make his work quicker. Many would call him vain in this aspect. His motivation in life stems from his fascination with the surface and it's strange fauna; Frequent visits to the black sand beaches of the nearby islands fuel his curiosity and creativity, even if these visits don't last long because of his pelt drying out. A secondary motive in his endeavors is to find a way to allow variations of the land fauna he so loves to thrive in his underwater home. His many hobbies would include his garden work, personal beauty, exercise, and his dabbling in stonework. His favorites of the list would be his own looks and his gardens. He takes great pride in his creations, and he considers it a great insult to point out something that "shouldn't belong" in his line-up, which encompasses both himself and his gardens. Despite loving the great distance from other hippocamps created by his private property, Kelp Culler enjoys visiting Okeanos and conversing with others, finding it as more of a pass time than just talking. If there's an open-invite party, he'll be there dancing with whoever is willing. Culler considers himself quite suave, and loves to schmooze both stallions and mares alike.
