  1. This sounds like a great idea! I don't have much money to spend sadly but I'll buy any ponies I can to donate to others. Spread the friendship right? ^_^
  2. Same for myself. There's no point in reading it and I know I won't enjoy it, so why read it? I'd rather give my time to fanfics that are actually decent. Like Spiderses.
  3. Considering griffins in mythology would eat horses? How indeed.
  4. Yeah, I think at first brony referred to guys who watched the show, then girls... then anyone outside of the expected age group. I have to admit though, 'pegasis' sounds pretty cool. @KirbyKrackle: Congrats dude, sounds like she somewhat enjoys the show! At least she's willing to try it out, unlike the majority of people I know.
  5. Well, if you remember, Spike explicitly said owls eat mice. By extension, cats would eat mice. So by extending the extension, I would think the dogs would catch wild game perhaps? Mice, birds, you know. Small sort of creatures that would need to be eaten to keep from overpopulation. And that is why Winona was never invited to Fluttershy's house.
  6. Name: Jebediah Crockett. Frequently referred to as Jeb. Sex: Male. Age: Young stallion. Species: Earth Pony. Pelt Color: A darkish lime green. Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Black mane and tail, with some very dark red streaks. Tail's a bit bushy but the mane is cut shorter. Most of Jeb's mane is under his hat, a pinstriped fedora. Eye Color: Grey-blue. Cutie Mark: A fruitcake. Acquired for baking the best fruitcakes in Equestria. Physique: Slightly taller than average and more slender than most males. Some muscular tone, but not enough to be especially noticable. Origin: Jebediah was born into the fairly small farming town of Haymaker, far away from the big cities of Canterlot and Manehattan. Most of the ponies there were farmers and his family was no exception, selling their produce every week at the town square. It was in Haymaker that Jebediah discovered he could bake halfway decently and found he was best at baking fruitcakes, thus earning him his cutie mark. And not the plastic brick-like fruitcakes you buy in stores, real honest-to-goodness fruitcakes. Real fruit pieces and cake-y goodness in every bite. Roleplay Type: Mane RP. Occupation: Traveling salesman. Though he bakes his own goods, so I suppose he's a traveling baker as well. Motivation: Jebediah wishes to sell his fruitcakes to everypony and teach them that fruitcakes really can be a delectable treat. He hopes to someday find the perfect town to set up a permanent bakery in where he can sell his goods and become world famous. A small part of him also wants to play the hero in a grand adventure, though he has no actual skills that would enable him to do so. Likes: Baking of course. Also enjoys telling bad jokes. Just like everypony, he likes spending time with others who are nice and friendly. Loves traveling all over Equestria and seeing the many wondrous sights and interesting ponies. Likes it when people appreciate his fruitcakes. Likes the young mares as well, so he hasn't exactly found any that like him back. Dislikes: Creatures. Seriously, he's terrified of dragons, griffins, diamond dogs, chimeras... anything of the sort. He's even nervous around baby dragons, but they won't send him running in fear. Doesn't like people hating fruitcake, especially if they haven't tried it. Doesn't like mean or unfriendly ponies. Doesn't like being stuck in one place for too long. Character Summary: Jebediah's a fairly outspoken pony who's not afraid to go the extra mile to help others. Somewhat naive, he can be coerced into doing things he wouldn't normally do if he thinks it will make others happy. Always cheerful, he rarely gets upset at others unless he's pushed around hard enough. He's almost always in a good mood, even when his life is at it's worst. He isn't scared of much and will happily (or perhaps stupidly) leap into danger; unless said danger involves any sort of creature. Jebediah quickly turns into a whimpering coward hiding under the nearest object at the mention of creatures. He'd much rather spend time selling his fruitcakes to everypony or hang out with friends. Fruitcake is his life's passion and he can spend day after day happily selling them to others. It's already been stated that he was born and raised in Haymaker. He was born there to an Earth Pony mother and, a rare occurrence in the town, a Unicorn father. Jebediah was one of three siblings in the family. He had an older sister, Quillheart the unicorn who had received her cutie mark awhile back for her ability to write wondrous poetry. Jeb also had a younger brother, Nails. He was still a baby and hadn't received a cutie mark yet. Jebediah hadn't received his either at the time, and spent most of his days exploring the farm and helping out with a smattering of chores. Unlike his brother and sister, who had rather normal names, Jebediah Crockett had been named for the founder of Haymaker whose reason for having such a strange name was lost to legend. One day though, the entire town was raided by a pack of diamond dogs and their pet dragon. Entire farms were destroyed and stores were ransacked as the diamond dogs looked for loot and their dragon, not quite fully grown, burnt everything gleefully. The ponies fought back valiantly and in the end drove the group away. Sometime in the process, the Crockett family lost their mother. It was never discovered if it was the work of the Raiders or not, but from that day Jebediah nurtured a fear of any type of creature. Times were tough for Haymaker after the raid and all the ponies in the family had to pitch in to help with the farm. Unfortunately Jebediah was pitiful at farm work and ended up working in the house. It was here that he discovered that he could bake and not long afterward his father was selling his goods at town for a few extra bits. Jebediah was happy to help in any way he could and often got ideas from Haymaker's bakery. There he discovered an unusual food; a fruitcake. After nearly vomiting upon trying it, he took the rest home to try to create a better one. A little while later he gave his sister one he had made, who tentatively tried it. After she scarfed the whole thing down and asked for more, a cutie mark appeared on Jeb's flank signifying his newly found talent. A few years later the town had built itself back up fairly well. Jeb's fruitcakes were quite popular in the small town and his family now had plenty of bits. Quillheart had moved on to Fillydelphia where she became a somewhat successful writer. Jebediah wished to go out in the world and make a name for himself as well, though his father warned that not everypony would appreciate his fruitcakes like Haymaker did. Jeb was determined however, and set about making his dream come true. He decided to stay a few more seasons and watched as his little brother saved the farm from drought by building an incredible irrigation system, earning him a cutie mark of his namesake. Realizing his father was in good hooves, he bade the town farewell and set out into the big world. He soon discovered the truth to his father's words as he was usually laughed out of every town he ever visited. Pushing a little cart around, he tried in vain to sell his creations to ponies. Few would buy his fruitcakes, most just ignored him. Thankfully he never worried about what he would eat as he could easily get by on fruitcakes. Finding a place to sleep every night proved to be some trouble, but most times he made just enough bits to get by. Still, he was undeterred as he continued from town to town, following his dream. Jeb's been at it for a year or so now, and he's sure fame and fortune await him around the next corner. Until then he's happy to sell his fruitcakes to anypony who wants them. ~~~~~~~~~ Yeah, I know I goofed on the guy's back leg there. Try not to stare at it too much. @_@ Okay, my OC pony's app. Still a work in progress, but any comments, thoughts, ideas or critiques are welcome! If you got something to say, feel free to say it!
  7. Pinkie Pie eats hot dogs and Applejack trusses up turkeys and raises hogs. The pets only follow their masters' examples.
  8. Thanks! Worked out great, though the formatting got a bit confuzzled. Ah well.
  9. If that's Discord then he looks like a luckdragon. Just sayin'.
  10. Yes, I know my blog has a stupid name. It's late, what can I say? So I actually do a blog elsewhere, except there I mainly do movie reviews. Thus I'll probably use this blog to review season two episodes when they come out. Why? I enjoy talking about stuff I like and pretending people give a horse's plot about what I think. But at this moment, no, I'm not reviewing. I've been working close to a week on an RP application for my very own OC pony. I've tenderly crafted it from my imagination, making sure it followed all the RP rules and was generally interesting. Sounds nice right? And I go into it this evening, deciding to clean it up before finally posting it here on Canterlot... and I see it's gone. No, the file's still there, but when I open it in Notepad it's empty. Completely empty. It's like I erased everything I wrote it then forgot to put it back. So now I have to literally start all over and rewrite my character top to bottom. *sigh* Ah well. At least I can fix some things up that I wasn't sure about previously. Man, I need more interesting things to talk about. How about that Star Wars Blu-Ray? Eh? Eh? ~JctheBrony
  11. Indeed. I have a feeling gold is actually fairly common in Equestria, given how you can practically just dig in your backyard to get a truckload of gems.
  12. What the heck Bann? No chunky peanut butter? Pff, lame. XP
  13. Pony families? Heck yeah. *crosses fingers for Fluttershy's family*
  14. Doctor Whoof and Berry Punch. And Vinyl Scratch. And Octavia. And Derpy. And... wait, I'm only supposed to pick one? ... Well that's no fun!
  15. Ha, that's a nice tumblr. I love how long-winded she gets. I still get the same problems I get on other tumblrs though; every time I click on an image to enlarge it the image goes blurry. Ah well, I get around it by opening it in a new tab.
  16. While I agree with you on Cupcakes allow me to disagree on Pinkamena's tumblr. Cupcakes as a story isn't meant to be funny. It's just some sicko's story that primarily depends on shock value. Certain members of the community may think it's funny, and more power to them. But it's not meant to be comedic and anyone who thinks it is comedic is just projecting their own feelings on the story. The tumblr though, that's classic black humor there. It's dark and morbid and it's supposed to be, but it's written to be tongue-in-cheek as well. I know I know, not everyone likes the dark humor and that's cool. But I myself don't really think it's the same thing as Cupcakes. And on the topic of fanfiction, I can't stand the people who comment on your story and only say, "U DIDN'T USE x CHARACTER Y NOT U SUCK". Look, I'm sorry I didn't use your favorite character. But I'm not writing this story for you, I'm writing it because I think it's fun and it's up to you whether you want to enjoy it or not. But please if you comment, comment on the actual story. I don't even care if you complain or critique, just post something worthwhile at least.
  17. Everything looks pretty nice. Only complaint so far is I can't seem to get my avatar uploaded. @_@
  18. Hmm. Well there's always things to do to wrap up winter. If you don't have any merchandise maybe you have some clothes? It looks like you want something that doesn't scream PONY but you want to celebrate somehow. Maybe some MLP-themed food? You know, cupcakes or heck, even apples. Can't think of much at the moment to help sadly...
  19. That is a horrible idea and you are an awful person. ... So go do it already! Alternatively you could take that other poster's idea and make Baked Bads. You could just put a few gummi worms on it and/or green icing.
  20. Tom Baker's awesome! He's still one of the best doctors, though I think Tennant would probably place a close second. Though, it's a good question why we've never had an ethnic Doctor... maybe ethnicities didn't exist on Gallifrey? So, just saw Let's Kill Hitler. Have to say it was quite awesome and well worth the wait. Spoiler... ish comments?
  21. Apple pie. Because it is the only true American one.
  22. Favorite pony... it really is so hard to choose just one y'know? Favorite Mane Cast: Applejack and Fluttershy ties for first. Fluttershy ties for everyone's first though. Favorite One Shot Character: Princess Lunaaaaaaa. Can't wait for her in season two. Favorite Background Pony: Dr. Whoof hands hooves down. Though Berry Punch has actually been growing on me, she reminds me of my friend who's always talking about rum.
  23. Mountain Deeeeeeeeeew! Except caffeine normally isn't good for my system so I usually end up drinking the diet Mtn. Dew. *sigh*
  24. I haven't RPed in a couple years. I mainly just did joke RPs with my friends but one day we all sat down and decided to do a serious RP on a now defunct message board. It started off well enough but then no one else would post their turns in the RP, so it just died off. I was pretty disappointed and haven't really RPed since then. And strangely enough MLP is enough to make me consider trying RPing again. What a world indeed.
  25. Hmm... I can't say there's much I hate. Maybe if I was in a worse mood I could think of a number of things but right now there's only one thing really standing out. Posers/Fad Followers ~ You know the guys. Anything that's popular these people will swarm around like rabid parasprites. They obsess over the new thing to an extreme extent for a couple weeks, before dropping it like a sad sack of potatoes and moving to the next thing. It's just so annoying. You like that singer? Oh that's cool and... no? You like that other singer now? Sure, I understand when you grow out of your music likes and yeah, your likes going to change every now and then. But every few weeks is just crazy, especially when you're acting like you'd die without that singer in existence. The main offender of this would probably be kids and preteen girls but honestly I see grown men doing this too. Come on guys, find a nice balance. It's cool if you like that, really. But don't go overboard and then just drop it. And don't like it just because everyone else is liking it. This sorta overlaps with the above poster's 'Crazed Fans' but I thought it was worth mentioning.
