  1. Somehow I am reminded of my dad telling me about when he was in college, and he and his friends would get Beta fish and have them fight each other in tourneys. I don't know if I should be horrified of this fact or start doing it in my school.
  2. I have a siamese cat named Chloe and a blue beta fish named Fred.
  3. This is why Zeurel is amazing. Oh, and his other amazing animation work. But right now it's this.
  4. MLP, Doctor Who, Adventure Time, and American Dad are the only shows that continue to make episodes that I watch nowadays. Once upon a time, Avatar was my favorite show. Before that was Samurai Jack, and before that was Dexter's Lab. I could go on and on about cartoons I love, but I'll spare you a tl;dr.
  5. Who likes Jaffa Cakes? I bet you will. First off, what are Jaffa Cakes? They're a delicious treat from the UK, consisting of a sponge-cake covered in chocolate and filled with orange marmalade. From what I hear, they're unbelievable. I haven't had a chance to try the recipe (or the actual cakes, for that matter) for myself, but hopefully someone here will and inform me as to how awesome they are. Ingredients For the cakes 2 free-range eggs 50g/2oz caster sugar 50g/2oz plain flour, sieved For the filling 1 x 135g/4¾oz packet orange jelly, chopped 1 tbsp orange marmalade 125ml/4½fl oz boiling water 200g/7oz good quality dark chocolate, minimum 70 per cent cocoa solids, broken into pieces Preparation method Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. For the cakes, bring a little water to the boil in a pan, then reduce the heat until the water is simmering. Suspend a heatproof bowl over the water (do not allow the base of the bowl to touch the water). Add the eggs and sugar to the bowl and beat continuously for 4-5 minutes, or until the mixture is pale, fluffy and well combined. Add the flour, beating continuously, until a thick, smooth batter forms. Half-fill each well in a 12-hole muffin tin with the cake batter. Transfer the tin to the oven and bake the cakes for 8-10 minutes, or until pale golden-brown and cooked through (the cakes are cooked through when a skewer inserted into the centre of the cakes comes out clean.) Remove from the oven and set the cakes aside, still in their tray, until cool. Meanwhile, for the filling, in a bowl, mix together the jelly, marmalade and boiling water until the jelly has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Pour the filling mixture into a shallow-sided baking tray or large dish to form a 1cm/½in layer of jelly. Set aside until completely cooled, then chill in the fridge until set. When the jelly has set and the cakes have cooled, cut small discs from the layer of jelly, equal in diameter to the cakes. Sit one jelly disc on top of each cake. Bring a little water to the boil in a pan, then reduce the heat until the water is simmering. Suspend a heatproof bowl over the water (do not allow the base of the bowl to touch the water). Add the chocolate and stir until melted, smooth and glossy, then pour over the cakes. Set aside until the melted chocolate has cooled and set.
  6. I'm about a 6, but I'd absolutely love a chance to see the sky at a 1!
  7. It started around 4 years ago when I met my ex, and we started making stories with our characters we had made. Tales of romance, betrayal, comedy, action, despair, and just about anything else you can think of. I don't RP too much anymore, but hopefully I start again here sometime.
  8. Lord Gummy Alligator is aging past his first year, so aid us in mass rejoicing! The baked goods will be most succulent, and the assorted gathering items incomparable in quality.
  9. My first exposure was Matt Smiths two-parter on the Weeping Angels, which might be why I love his episodes so much. I think he's great. His quirky, almost off-the-wall attitude feels like what makes me like the Doctor, and he pulls it off very well. Also Amy is the hottest red-head ever hnnnngh
  10. I am the element of Music, bringing friends together with soul-tapping tunes. Or something cheesy like that, I don't know. I'm gonna go play with my bass more now.
  11. I'm surprised there wasn't one before, but I dub this the official discussion thread on everyone's favorite Time Lord, Doctor Who. Whether you enjoy William Hartnell or Matt Smith, fight Daleks or Weeping Angels, any and all chatter and nonsense about this amazing piece of sci-fi mastery goes here! Also, if you want to catch up on Doctor Who with any episode you choose (and I do mean ANY), do visit http://www.crossingthewhoniverse.com/index.html. It's a bit ad-ridden, and quite a few episodes run on the infamous 72 minute MegaVideo streaming, but it's a small price to pay for every Doctor anytime. Now then, did anyone see God Complex tonight? I don't have cable and I'm afraid I missed it.
  12. Great, now I'm going to start frantically searching for episodes of it streaming somewhere.
  13. Pinkie Pie, of course! I've always been a fan of the strange, quirky characters, and Pinkie nails that for sure.
  14. Good ol' Washington has stayed nice and mild from the heatwave the rest of America was having. U jelly? We're only just starting to finally cool off.
  15. Minecraft, of course. I'm only a little bit addicted. As for the server, PM me with your username and I can add you to the White-List, should you be interested.
  16. Honestly, who can possibly hate the Batman cartoon? Or Arkham Asylum, because he voiced that Joker too, who was amazing.
  17. What, I'm not allowed to vote for Mark Hamill as best Joker? That's awfully disappointing.
  18. Hoo, boy, get ready for quite the list. It's going to be about 90% of my 1644 song long iTunes library, so be prepared. Anything in bold is a personal favorite. A.F.I. If you're going to pick any 3, I'd say Pink Floyd, Gorillaz, and White Stripes.
  19. I could probably pick a few... First would be Scott Pilgrim by Plumtree. Not so much for the lyrics (though they accurately describe my awful love-life), but more for just the overall tone and sound of it all. It's up-beat, and keeps my spirits high no matter what. Plus, I've always thought of myself as a young Scott Pilgrim in a way. Another one would be Money by Pink Floyd, due to its smooth and relaxing beat through the whole song, as I can often be a rather chill guy in the face of worrisome troubles, letting them all just blow away and focusing on what's going right. Plus, being unemployed and almost in college and having a car, money's pretty important for the time being. I'd have to think for a while more if I was gonna pick, like, a whole album to describe my life, but for me right now, those songs headline the soundtrack to my life.
  20. 100 points to each of you! Those were some good ones. Next up: "How Luna spent her time on the moon."
  21. Hey, everypony! Welcome to "Whose Line is it Anyway?", where everything's made up and the points are muffins! First game tonight will be "Scenes From a Hat." Our first topic: Things you don't write to Princess Celestia about.
  22. Ugh, I could fill an entire thread, so I'll boil it down to my top 5 with good reasoning. 1: Crazed Fans. Yeah, congrats you like Bieber, or Twilight, or Lady Gaga, or whatever. I don't. You don't have to cram how amazing you think they are down my throat. Sure, I try and convince you MLP is good, but if you don't like it after giving it a try, that's your opinion and I respect it. 2: Oprah Winfrey. I just don't trust someone with that much money, especially when they give it all away for no reason. 3: Modern American Television. Big Brother, Jersey Shore, Hoarders. It's all I hear about from the TV of my country, and I can't stand it. We're out of ideas. Someone get BBC in here. 4: First Person Shooters. Now I don't hate ALL first person shooters. Half Life 2 is one of my favorite games ever made, and I do enjoy Halo from time to time. But the fact that the market is Call of Duty this and Battlefield that, it's a little disappointing how few ideas we have now. Granted, things like Deus Ex and Dust 514 interest me for being FPS games and yet breaking the mold CoD set, but it doesn't change the fact that the genre is getting tired to me. Also, Black Ops is the worst game I've played this year, hands down. 5: Super Religious People. I have nothing against religion in general, total love/tolerance for that. It's generally the people I can't stand. You know, the ones who post Bible quotes every day as their Facebook status and claim that what you're doing is a sin, and whatnot. It's fine if you're religious, just stop trying to make EVERYONE AROUND YOU exactly the same. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts. I suppose that sums it up pretty well for me. I could go on, but I'll spare you that XD
  23. I was almost completely different when I was a kid. Circa 1998 (age 5), I was in karate, I loved hiking and running around, I read books feverishly (even more than I played video games, a horrifying thought), I loved every kind of bug, and I beat up my older sister if she made me mad. Nowadays, I'm cowardly (lover, not a fighter), I'm lazy as all hell, I have willingly read maybe 3 books in the past several years, I'm a gaming addict in a way, I tend to swat away bugs the second they're in my personal space, and my older sister likes to beat me up sometimes. OH THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGING :U
