Zebra Lycoris [Ready]

Species: Half Zebra, Half Earth Pony (if allowed)
Eye colour: Bright Blue
Coat: Black with gradient blue stripes. He has a mark like face paint over his left eye and his stripes form a sort of blue swirl on his right leg. All his hooves are dark blue except for his right front one, which is bright blue under his dark fetlocks.
Mane/Tail: Bright blue at the roots, gradating into medium blue, dark blue, and then black at the tips
Physique: Medium height, average muscles, slightly scrawny in build for a male of his age
Residence: Everfree Forest
Occupation: He wants to be a guardian and protector of others. This is a little tricky because he's so afraid of many things, but he'll do his best for the sake of others, especially those weaker, younger, and smaller than him.
Cutie Mark: His cutie mark is a gradient blue shield with a black sword on it (as negative space, since his coat is black with gradient blue stripes). Lycoris got his mark when he helped a foal find her way out of the forest and put on a brave face for her sake despite being terrified himself.
History: This pony/zebra hybrid (he prefers to just be referred to as an Earth pony) grew up away from both other Zebras and other ponies. However, he made quick friends with ponies who occasionally ventured into or along the skirts of the Everfree Forest where he made his home. The Everfree Forest itself frightened him because of all the hidden dangers disguised as plants and animals. He might have decided to live with either the Zebras or ponies but for the fact that, as a foal, he had gotten a lot of attention for his unique coat and became very afraid of large crowds. He also grew cynical about others, believing them to like him just for his looks.

This made him come to hate his stripes and everything else that made him different from other ponies. Without his Zebra attributes, he felt he could relate more to ponies than to the rhyme-talking Zebras living beyond the Everfree Forest. This is why, despite being very afraid of the forest, he lives on the edge, mostly alone except for the company of a young mare named Forest Frolic who loves adventuring and is braver than he.
Character Summary: Lycoris grew up to be cynical, suspicious, and paranoid of almost everything and everyone. He wishes he was just a normal pony. Living on the edge of the Everfree Forest with his friend Forest Frolic, he avoids other ponies and Zebras because doesn't want to draw too much attention to himself.

 

(I have future plots for him to meet Mirage/Roulette, QuickLime's con-artist character, in the hopes that he can get rid of his stripes.)

The hybrid, in this instance, isn't too extreme.  Everything else seems OK, a little cynical and bitter for WoE, but we'll see how that develops.  I'll pass it up to SRPH review.
