'Bad' doesn't necessarily mean ignorant, if you're thinking otherwise. There are many evil people who are quite aware of what they do.

I was thinking about a particular person that I think society might label bad. One who drinks too much, does drugs, has violent tenancies, and has trouble holding a job. But that isn't who he is, that is what he has done. He is also loyal, conscientious, and a good friend. I'm not going to be doing either of us any good by ignoring him.

True. To some extent, we're all brought up differently. Some of us have had bad upbringings and generally have faced very challenging situations where we easily make the wrong decisions...but also deserve a chance to redeem ourselves.
