  1. Also there needs to be an award for whoever, out of sheer happenstance, correctly guesses in this thread an event from S3.
  2. Yeah, but it was a long time coming. Angel needed one after causing Fluttershy to have those Iron Will flashbacks.
  3. Oh God this thread is going to be gold I can just see it now. I definitely think Trixie should have won that dance-off, just sayin'. She Gangnam Style'd better than Luna. But then again, it IS a kid's show, so the good guys gotta win. Speaking of fanservice, the best bit was a tie between seeing Smarty Pants in Big Mac's saddlebag during that AJ episode (which was even better because of her song), or seeing Derpy delivering a box of muffins baked fresh at Sugarcube Corner. Nothing beats the episode where Discord took on pony form to trick Twilight onto a blind date though. My sides hurt from laughing so hard at that one. But before I go, I have to say, didn't shed any manly tears at that duet. I think Iron Will hammed it up a little too much.
  4. Kaskazini downed what was in his bottle, rolling it around in his hooves and examining it idly. It wasn't bad, not the greatest taste in the world, but it wasn't as bad as he'd been led to believe. Maybe it was just the herbal remedies he was used to from his village, for minor things of course. They never tasted good, but they worked. He didn't feel too much different so he just stood around, watching the crowd. Suddenly, there was a commotion involving a pony with a strange accent, and a very handsome looking younger stallion. Before he could even clue into what was going on he winced and shied away from the pony he'd been standing near to, who's voice had suddenly gained the volume of...of...he didn't quite have anything to compare it to, but it was loud. He shook his head and watched as the mare trotted over to the salesponies. This was...highly unusual, from an energy drink. All of a sudden, he felt something bubbling up inside him, and his body shuddered a bit as he hiccuped. "Hic!" At precisely the same moment he let out the sound, Kas' stripes changed, from their usual black to a vibrant, practically glowing pink colour. He looked at his left foreleg, jaw open a bit and surprise registering on his face. He was so shocked, only a single, expressionless word managed to come out of his mouth. "What." Hic! This time, before his very eyes, the bright pink stripes became a yellow of just the same intensity. "Dis be highly unusual..." he mumbled, hoping it wouldn't last too long, because he was feeling another hiccup coming on. Hic! Now his stripes were bright blue.
  5. I have a love for Fallout that has no bounds. Like seriously you have no idea how much I love it, from the lore to the games themselves (which annoys me that while I managed to bash FO2 to work on my PC, the patches to get FO1 to work contain a virus according to MS SecEss). I typically run a character focused on sneak, lockpicking, and small guns, though I recently played New Vegas as a character focused around Firearms, Sneak, and Speech of all things. It's quite fun being able to talk your way into and out of a lot. Other things to try are pacifist characters, like tagging Speech, Medicine, and Science or something and using only your innate skill with the mouse and low-req weapons to survive, or ridiculously specialized characters, like a character with an abysmal score in Intelligence, Luck, Charisma, and Perception, to give yourself 10s in Agility, Strength, and Endurance. Here's to hoping more info about 4 comes soon, too.
  6. Cryptozoology and mythological creatures are awesome. Speaking of them, Ahuizotl, the antagonist from the Daring Do novel Dash reads, and the Windigoes from Heart Warming's Eve are both actual creatures. The first is an Aztec mythological creature, while the other is an Algonquin creature of myth. The More You Know, and all that xD
  7. It's a private RP on the boards. Feel free to go and give it a read. And yes, there are no unicorns in our team. This is lampshaded early on, IIRC xD
  8. Ah, what the heck. Might as well, right? Kaskazini opened the bag that was hanging from his neck and reached in with his snout, pulling out first a carved wooden necklace. "Oups, dat not be it..." he mumbled around it. That had been an honest mistake. He needed to learn to organize his bags better. He stuck the necklace back in and this time pulled out a small pouch. "Alright, I take one'a dem," he informed Flam, extracting two bits from the pouch and handing them over. He took his bottle of energy drink and uncorked it to take a swig from it. He was glad he'd bought it then, because a young, handsome stallion walked up to buy most of their stock. Huh. Kas took another small sip, tasting something familiar in the ingredients. Probably just something his mother used in her medicinal potions. " 'bout how long till dis stuff kick in, me moustached friend?" he asked, looking at Flam.
  9. Timbre Swing stepped back up onto the fountain, waiting to see what his duet partner would come up with next. He didn't know what he was expecting, but Sapphire Shores managed to surprise him, quite a bit. He had been expecting just a showy dance move...he didn't expect her to climb a flag pole, swinging from the banner itself that hung from it. He had to admit, even his own jaw dropped, matching the crowd's reaction. She finished her bit of the chorus, and Timbre couldn't help but stomp his hooves against the stone fountain, joining in the raucous applause from the small crowd they'd gathered. "Mesdames et Messieurs! Zee talented and lovely Sapphire Shores!" he called out, motioning to her and grinning. Not like she needed any introduction...he figured everypony in the crowd at least recognized her to some degree, while he on the other hoof was the unknown here...still, he hoped he might gain some recognition with their little duet...which he had to admit now, she'd won, fair and square. The crowd was energized, and seemed to be wanting for more. He chuckled, looking up at Sapphire Shores. He didn't know if she wanted to keep walking, or give the crowd what they wanted. A voice over to his side caught his attention, and it was the lonely mare from before thanking him for the show. He grinned and floated his hat over, setting it on the mare's head. "Are you stuck, Madame Shores?" he asked with a mischievous smile. He couldn't imagine that was a very easy position to get down from without a little bit of help, that he was sure he and the other unicorns in the audience could readily provide. "You 'ave waiting fans 'ere," he added with a chuckle.
  10. So Muggo' Ale hadn't messed up too terribly, given that she'd returned his kiss. He smiled and watched her heading back toward her farm. He had quite liked the evening, and very much enjoyed the time spent with this mare. The earth pony truly hoped their schedules would provide another opportunity for a date at some point. He felt something, too. He wasn't sure what, just yet. Love was definitely not the proper word for it, given that they were on their first date, and he was long since passed the age where a single date brought on those feelings. But Muggo' did know he wanted to see her again, at some point. She turned back and said just a few simple words, and he laughed, sweeping his hat from his head in a bit of a bow. "Only the best for ya," he assured her. He stuck the tweed bakersboy back on his head and turned to leave as she disappeared into the darkness of the orchard, and he made his way back to Fillydelphia. He'd of course have to take the teasing abuse from his father that he'd had to resort to a matchmaking service, but he also had to admit, it had done a very admirable job, and worked to give him a great night. And who knows, it may lead to him finding his special somepony. Time would tell, of course. Muggo' Ale just kept walking, though there was a subtle change in his body language, that showed how pleased he'd been with how things had gone. His head was a bit higher, his step a bit lighter. And as he passed one of the other farms, and its chaotic, unplanned outline, he started humming one of the sea shanties he knew, of which he always seemed to have one for any situation (even this one), eventually turning to quiet words. "Yer friends all complain' that yer goin' insane, but the truth is that they're just afraid. An' he~ey, hey, somewhere...ya threw yer fear in the sea o' no cares..." [And end. Quite the fun little RP, in my own opinion. Not sure how to want to handle it from here. Another topic eventually for a second date or something? Up to you.]
  11. The moustached one trotted over to sell Kaskazini the bottle he'd inquired about. The zebra wore an amused little smile while the pony told him the price, and reiterated the use of this drink, to give him energy. Interesting. And at two bits, well...it was always worth a try. He typically sold his own trinkets at a bit or two apiece, so it was no real loss for him. Didn't mean he wasn't going to mess with the poor salespony. It was just his nature, after all. "Well, I be a salespony meself. Well, not a pony, but ya get me drift, yeah?" Kas took hold of the bottle and examined it with an (un)knowing eye. He had no clue what was in it, to be fair, or what could even go in. "An' dis supposed ta make me bounce off de walls with energy? Ya should know we zebra types, we good at brews o' dis type. What ya put inta this? I might know de ingredients, an' if it's worth me time ta buy more'n a single bottle, seen?" he asked with a grin. He was going to buy one ANYWAYS just to try it, but he could have some fun. He had a distinct feeling the salespony either didn't full know or wouldn't say exactly. Not that Kaskazini knew the first thing about this stuff. He knew what kind of plants made for good tea, and that was the extent of his horticultural knowledge.
  12. Dapper Dan listened to her describe the farm, chuckling. "I can imagine it's quite a bit different than out here." He loved Appleoosa, no two ways about that, but he kinda missed the rolling hills outside Fillydelphia. He looked over at her and smiled. "Yeah, you shouldn't push yourself too hard. Take a bit of time off, go see some new places. Then again, not like I can...uh, can talk..." he trailed off just as awkwardly as she had, their eyes having met. Well now, this was a strange and rather new situation for Dan, who looked away with his own sheepish smile. "Sorry, I'm, ah, not that great at...well, at talking to mares. I grew up around Dad's barbershop, and he only served colts and stallions," he explained. And he never really got out a whole lot, usually making friends with the sons of the regulars of his father's shop. If he went out, it was to hang out with them, not really to go hunting for mares to hang out with. There was a bit of an awkward silence as he adjusted his glasses with his hoof. "Sorry, I know I'm kinda boring. Still trying to find places around here and get settled in, even though I've been here for a few months."
  13. Dapper Dan smiled, happy that he had another satisfied customer. "I'm glad you like it, Miss LaMare," he said sincerely, taking a small little bow and snapping the razor shut with a small flourish. He was about to say something else when he heard the door open, and another pony came in. He smiled warmly at her. "Why hello there! Welcome to my shop," he greeted. Another mare, he noticed. That wasn't bad, he could get more practice in. She seemed to recognize the other ponies there, but he had never met her. "A pleasure, Miss Apple!" He knew of the Apple family, and just guessed, shot in the dark, that this mare was a member of it, given her name. He smiled a little sheepishly at the praise he got from the Sheriff, though he was pleased that they liked his work. "Yup. I'm still getting practice when it comes to mares, but I don't think I did half bad." Miss LaMare looked quite nice with her new manecut. "So, what can I do for you?" he asked the newcomer.
  14. Muggo' Ale felt a bit out of place again, though this time it was because, of his two companions, he was the only one without any sort of military background or title. He wasn't well trained in the art of war, just barroom brawls. But that didn't matter all that much to him. He did feel a bit more at home seeing the Prince's attire though. A tweed jacket. Given Muggo's own hat and vest of identical material, he almost felt the need to compliment Blueblood on his choice. He let Fire and Blueblood speak, while looking idly about the room, until their boarding was called. "Aye, let's cast off," the green coated earth pony said with a smile, unable to properly contain his excitement. There was no doubt that Muggo' was ready to board the vessel and make for Unyazi. Even just being aboard the Cupid would have been great. He trotted between Dunder Blust and Fire Walker, though he kept back a bit. They were soldiers after all, and they would be needed closer to Prince Blueblood. He chuckled a bit when he noticed Dunder had his head held high compared to Fire, bringing him up nearly even with the Prince, who won out on net height by having a horn. It was quite the amusing sight...and rather heartwarming, to see his two friends in their gleaming armour, getting looks of admiration from those around them. "Don't look now b'y, but I think there's a mare there starin' at yer shiny starn," Muggo' informed Dunder with a chuckle, keeping his voice a little low.
  15. Muggo' looked around the cavern they'd emerged into, nodding a bit. This was...unexpected. They also had to get going, quickly, before their pursuers caught up or somehow word was sent to this group ahead of them. He spotted the minecart just as Dusty did, nodding. "If ya can get me hooked up to it I can get us enough momentum to get goin'." he explained. It would be tough, but not impossible. And it seemed a lot of the track went downhill, so all he'd have to do is run with it for a bit to get it up to speed, and hop in with the rest of his group. "Question is, how do we get past the dogs? Quiet as can be?" he asked, looking back at his companions. They had to think quickly, before those shouts started to echo into the chamber and alert anyone.
  16. The layout of the farms caught Muggo' Ale's attention immediately. Like a beacon of order in sea of chaos for the other farms around it. It was kind of funny to look at...the other farms looked like the farmers had just decided one day they wanted to grow things without really doing any research into the best way for doing that. Well, whatever floated their proverbial boat, or as his father would say, 'They's the b'ys that build the boat, we's the b'ys that sails 'er,' basically that they took care of their side, the farmers took care of their own, and neither bugged the other. Caramel's farm was a bit different. It felt quite inviting, with its clean outlines for the orchards and the trees that swayed gently in the breeze. Gone was the occasional noises of continuing city life...it was dead quiet out here, except for the soft rustling of the trees. She answered his question, and he couldn't help but chuckle a bit. At least all he had to deal with was his own writing. "I'll see what I can scrounge up for ya," he assured her, smiling warmly when she nuzzled him. "Aye. Most fun I've had in a long time," he said with a smile. Muggo' wrapped his forehooves around her and gave her a hug, pulling away a bit. "Ya get some rest, an' try not to work yerself too hard, yeah?" He understood what it was like to be busy, but he understood the need to relax sometimes, too. "I'll keep in touch. Send a few letters or somethin'. Until then though..." he gave her a soft kiss, right on the lips. He didn't hold it for too long, still not perfect with this whole 'dating etiquette' thing. Oh well. He smiled as he pulled away. "Ya have a good night, Caramel. Sweet dreams an' all that."
  17. This picture, full stop. I love the lighting in it that makes me quite literally FEEL warm, the colour choice, the art style, the expressions, the pure gut-wrenching feeling of sadness seeing Mac and Fluttershy's expression...all of it. To top if off, I vaguely recall hearing that it was drawn by somepony who frequents this board, but I can't remember. I also love the "Ponies IRL" pictures. These are my favourites:
  18. I like the idea of the touch of poison joke. Maybe just temporary, very short term effects, and highly differing ones? For instance, one character drinks from a bottle and grows a temporary, useless horn, while another drinks from the same one and loses all coordination, something along the lines of (Which is what I have planned for Kaskazini, if he ends up taking a drink).
  19. A bit of a commotion in town caught Kaskazini Nyota's attention, something down near the park. Curious as ever the zebra decided to take a closer look...after all, he had some shore leave from the Freedom Wings, and wanted to experience as much as he could while he was here in Ponyville, for his first ever visit to the town. If there was something exciting going on in the park, he wanted to see what it was. Who knows, maybe he could ply his own trade? That idea quickly faded when he saw just what it was he was looking at. Kaskazini spotted two unicorns, brothers by the looks of them (darn near identical twins, if it wasn't for the one's rather impressive moustache), attempting to sell off...some sort of energy drink? By the time he'd arrived things weren't looking up for the duo. A line had formed, yes, but one of the mares who'd tried their product did not seem very impressed with it, and gave the group a glare before running off in a huff. All of this highly amused Kas, who was not used to being here. Typically, he was on the other side of the booth, selling his faux-mystical zebra "charms" and "talismans" (which he carried in a dark cloth bag around his neck, resting against his side. You never know when opportunity would knock!) to ponies in the cities around Equestria. "Oh, dis looks like it's go'an ta be good," the zebra commented to nopony in particular with a wide grin. He might try the energy drink, at some point. For now, he was content to watch how these two stallions tried to pitch it. He had to admit they were very energetic, which seemed to help with winning the attention of those in the crowd, but obviously at least one mare wasn't impressed with the product. He wondered if it even worked. "How much ya sellin' dis for? Jus' trotted on by, see?" He hadn't caught the price properly during the moustached one's song. If the price was right, he'd give it a go. If not, he'd have a good time yanking their chain about it, trying to haggle it down. A sort of travelling salesman tete-a-tete, as it were. Heck, if it had half the potency they claimed, it should be flying off their shelf. Was it a poor product, or just too early to tell?
  20. Timbre Swing's out. He's got a few minor injuries, and is currently passed out on the ground in front of the airship. Being that he was one of the unicorns straining to keep it up, I figure it'll start shifting soon and basically be everypony's cue to start making for the exit doors (located at the front and back of the aircraft. See the brochure in your seat pockets for details).
  21. I'll definitely admit that half the reason I don't want to go is lack of things that I know about there. If I look at a country like Italy, I can name off five places I would want to go see in a heartbeat. For the continent of Africa though? Not so much. I'd like to visit Egypt for sure...I guess touring around the north coast would be interesting too, now that I think about it.
  22. Where am I from? Glorious Canada. Where have I visited? The US, Mexico, and Italy Where do I want to visit? It's easier to name off the places I don't want to go, and that's most of Africa (except some places. My uncle went to Kilimanjaro, and I would love to visit that) and bits of Southeast Asia (I don't like the heat and humidity a whole lot for one thing, and there's not a whole lot I want to see out there). Other than that, I'll go anywhere.
  23. Muggo' Ale always found the edges of town the most interesting, with their blending of the country and the city lifestyles. The buildings slowly started to get further and further apart, and shorter, too. No more of the multi-storey buildings of the business district, replaced instead by one or two storey homes and smaller businesses, and here and there a tiny farm sprouted up, mostly personal things or for small scale specialty stores. Here, on the transitional area of Fillydelphia, the soft breeze off the plains and hills outside in the country rolled in, mixing the clean, crisp smell of the countryside with the warm, smoky air of the city, making it a truly unique place. Muggo' didn't get to spend too much time out this way, and he promised himself he would after this. "Aye, that sounds like a perfect time," he agreed with a warm smile. It was tough to get free time...he was working early in the morning to late at night, all the time, be it cleaning or preparing for the day, or running the lunch, dinner, and evening rushes. On occasion he could pass the buck onto his seniormost employee, or his father, but he usually reserved that for long term things, like his occasional adventures that his friends dragged him out on. For the most part though he was stuck, but as he'd often say, he'd never choose to have it any other way. "Ya got problems with the farm's finances?" he asked after a moment, that part having just consciously set in. "I mean, I know this date's settin' ya back a step or two on the paperwork, ya said as much earlier, but ya havin' problems?" he explained. He wanted to help, but then again, he had his own finances to take care of. Muggo' did give her a wry grin, however. "If it gets to be a bit much, I can drop a keg o' me best off for ya. Whatever yer poison is, from stout to cider to lager."

    Dunder

Well, as it stands anyways, stallion faces are anatomically impossible to draw in a 3/4 view. We're shown from the first appearance of Big Mac that stallions have forward facing eyes when viewed from the front, and yet large, horse-like snouts, meaning either those snouts are really, really, thin, or someone dun goof'd when they drew it xD
