In short: Kinda. In long: It's weird in that it has a continuous story, but the majority of them are treading water. It's not DBZ levels of bad, since every episode is interesting to watch and not just jabbering, but the majority of them can be skipped if you're looking for the major plot points. It worked best when it was on TV, since it would only come on once or twice a day, so they could use re-runs, but watching every single episode isn't necessary, at least for the first 20 or so. There's about 90 episodes, and I'm only on 31. But if the pattern continues how I think it will, it goes "4 or 5 plot-important episodes, 15 making barely if any progress on that season's problem, 4 or 5 resolving that problem and introducing a new one, 15 episodes solving that new problem, etc." The main draw for me was the virtual reality part of it, how they were literally fighting a machine. The concept was interesting to me, and I would actually love to do an RP if not of Code Lyoko directly, then definitely heavily influenced by it. Dem foreheads. If you think those are large and obnoxious, try Ulrich's pants in the pilot, Dem pants!Now that I'm thinking about Garage Kids, that's actually more like what I'd want to RP, more than Code Lyoko itself.

Narrowly/Specifically implies that the future I see is not the only one possible. I'd rather see all paths hazily before me than only one potentially wrong one. Ultimate one-shot attack that can destroy anything, period, but is very physically taxing (potentially lethal to the physically weak) or infinitely spammable but very weak attack?

I beat Pokemon Puzzle League on Very Hard. Then I unlocked Super Hard. And Team Rocket kicked my butt. A lot. For Multiplayer, it's not really much of an achievement, but my primary tactic of finishing people off in SSB:Brawl is as follows: 1: Play as Gannondorf. 2: Knock them off the stage. 3: Side-B at them. 4: Game! 5: This game's winner is: Gannondorf! (6: This joke is funnier if you know what happens when Gannondorf successfully hits you with his Side-B midair) I guess something achievement worthy would be getting to 100+ points on a TF2 Valve server before the map rotates (map rotate = points reset to 0) without playing Medic (healing and getting assist kills gives you points) and not doing the objective while the rest of the team was.

For normal naming, I never understood that. Take Applejack for example. If not for the Sonic Rainboom (and maybe her dislike of high society), she could very have well became the adopted daughter of the Oranges and received an likewise orange cutie mark. Would her name still have been "Applejack?" Or would it have been changes to reflect her now being an Orange? Like, say, "Orangejack" or something. As for the "bad guys," I think it depends. The only examples we have are of super-powerful evil characters. Plus, we have no idea the origin of their "evil" names. Luna took the name "Nightmare Moon" when she went power-crazy and tried to take Celestia out, we know that much, but not who decided her name should be NMM. Maybe she took the name herself, and we call her that because of the 1000+ years of stories that nopony bothered to correct. Or maybe because, after a while, they were legends, and Nightmare Moon sounded far more menacing than Princess Luna. Same with King Sombra. I fully doubt his actual name was "Sombra" before becoming the evil king we were shown in the episodes. His real name very well could have been "Sunshine Puddingpop" for all we know, yet he is most well known for being "King Sombra," because that's when he was in power and being evil. I think of it like a title, or pseudonym. King Ivan IV Vasilyevich of Russia is better known as "Ivan the Terrible," yet his actual name never included "the Terrible." He very well could have been known as "Ivan the Kind" if he had worked for it. How about Theodor Seuss Geisel? AKA, Dr. Seuss. Most people don't know his actual name, because his pseudonym is so much more well known. Lastly, for titles, I've used up all my thinking juice for the other paragraphs, so darn if I know.

I recall, on a different forum, posting in an old thread (I believe it was about 1 or 2 months since anyone had posted in said topic). Someone pointed that out to me and said that the thread was "dead" and made feel dumb. I've since made it a habit to see how long it has been since someone posted, so as not to accidentally "necro/revive" a "dead" thread. Everyone here seems pretty okay with an old thread coming back (relevance notwithstanding), and I know it's technically not against the rules, but before I try and break my habit, I want to know for sure that the general public is okay with people posting in older topics for whatever reason before I go ahead and make myself look dumb.

Who remembers this from early 2000? Recently rediscovered it, and looking back on it, it's funny how bad the voice acting and copy/paste abuse is when they're in Lyoko. Seriously, watch the first 20-ish episodes again. You could make a drinking game out of how often they copy/paste scenes. Still a good series though.

I recall someone saying that somewhere else, and I recall the argument for that being, basically, "He's a voice actor. He can do other voices besides Discord." Kinda like how the voices for Dash and AJ are the same VA. Same with Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, if I remember right. de Lancie isn't stuck with just doing the voice of Discord, that's just been his only roll so far. But, and this is a long shot, there is a chance Discord might have some dialogue in a flash back or something. Maybe to explain something about King Sombra or some other character in history. And quick side note, anyone else notice that just about everything important has happened 1000 years ago? Luna being banished, Dissy being stoned, Sombra being shadowed...

Like I said, him popping up isn't out of the question, but it'd have to be planned. And honestly, with the way the episodes ended, there's NO WAY they're NOT going to revisit him at some point in Season 3. Also, popularity has nothing with reoccurrence. Discord never came back, and I'd say he's pretty friggen popular. (Also, I've never read the actual LOTR books, so any argument on that I would have is inherently invalid. :!: )

Okay. It's been a long time coming, but the new season gave me an idea. I'll make it all fancy and a separate OOC if there's interest, but the basic concept is that your character hears about some mysterious magic coming from the north. Nobody knows exactly what the magic entails, but it's dangerous as all heck to go looking for it. Supposedly, whatever it is, it's ridiculously powerful. Like, "the Elements of Harmony don't got nothing on this" powerful. Being the adventurer you character is (See: Does stupid stuff for money), he/she/it decides to investigate for whatever reason. (See: Does stupid stuff for money) I have an idea on how I want the story to go (I plan on it being a longish one), so I will be acting as a DM a bit (kinda like TotalEclipse is doing for Steel Factor) so I can point you in the right direction, and do other DM-y stuff. Although when combat rolls around, I won't be playing the enemies. I'm here to provide scenery and story, and be the railroader so you guys go the places I want you to. What are your thoughts?

Hm. I think him sticking around through the season would be an interesting departure from the prior two, although for better or worse it's hard to say. I think #1 and Bellosh are right though. Nothing really more than a plot device to be overcome to develop a character, in this case Twilight. Although him actually showing up again isn't completely out of the question, they would have to pull something big off to make that work.

Option one seems the easiest to do. And it sounds like I wouldn't be the only one appreciating it.

I'm sorry, truly I am. I know you probably want to keep this all in one thread, for the sake of compactness, and I really have no place to say anything, but it's just getting too tl;dr from the sheer amount of people and the size of the posts. I want to read them all and catch up, but it seems a little too much to go sifting through to see where Roaring Flame would best fit in, especially in the middle of stuff going on. I think we should start smaller threads, especially since it seems like stuff is going on in the middle of other unrelated stuff and it would just be cleaner to split those into separate threads. Sorry if I seem like I'm whining complaining, but it's just my personal opinion.

Apparently it's been spreading around a lot on 4chan's /mlp/ threads. Also apparently it's not a troll/hoax/joke, and that they actually are a thing. Just thought I'd share.

So a lot of fans of TF2 and MLP try and equate the mercs to the ponies. The popular comparisons are as follows: Scout = Rainbow Soldier = Spike Pyro = Pinkie Demo = Zecora Heavy = Big Mac Engi = Applejack Sniper = Twilight Medic = Fluttershy Spy = Rarity Before I give my overly-thought-out comparisons, tell me what you think about which pony would fit each class. Because I have way too much free thinking time.

Hm. This sounds better as a summary for the first half or the first few chapters of a fanfic than a RP, if I'm honest. Although I could see this being able to be done as an RP, I have a feeling that this would do better as a fic. If you can get more interest going for this, I would be willing to hop aboard. Otherwise, this seems more suited to being a fanfic than a RP. Great idea, though.

So me and a friend started coming up with jokes that we consider our "head-canon" mostly because it's really really funny. Firstly, and unrelated to ponies, Kamina from Double K is the founder of Tediore. Secondly, and related to ponies, Butt Stallion (who needs a better name) is the child of Rarity and Tom. Don't ask me how that works.

I have no idea how this would work, but this is relevant to my interests. If you can come with a reasonably compelling idea for this, I would most likely jump in on this.

Hrrrm. I might join Steel Factor. Although I think I'll let that sit until a better time comes around for me to join. Maybe when you're actually doing the invasion or something. Since Brute wasn't on the ship/hover-car/thing, and she is far too un-sneaky for her to have been hiding this entire time, there's nothing nice for me to work with. Also, since I doubt the Rangers would just let any griffon into their base, I'll wait until you guys leave the base. As for my idea... I still got nothing. Give me a little more time on that one. Still need to mull some things over in my head before starting anything. I want it to be something more meaningful than just a "dungeon crawl" if you get my drift. Like, if not a recurring villain, than at least a memorable leader or something.

Oh. That explains why Xiee hasn't posted in a while. Anyway, my idea was really more of just a setting. Specifically, a raider camp. Brute doesn't like slavers/raiders, so I was thinking of having her sort of go nuts there. Of course, I could always make up an excuse for other people to go, like a bounty against that specific camp or something. I dunno (I'm not very good at this DM thing)
