1. Simple, upbeat, and a little funny are the best kinda RPs.
2. "Of course, it's for real!" Honeydew said, sounding exasperated. "What, do you think they pay me to make this stuff up? Do you think I am here now for a breath of fresh air and vacation time?! I am on the hunt! Investigating THE TRUTH." She paused a moment, then took back the paper to scan the articles. "Okay, well, maybe we sensationalize things a bit. Canterlot isn't actually controlled by talking trees; it's obviously controlled by Princess Celestia. But if you read here on this page," Honeydew said, turning the page and pointing at the paragraph. "You would see that the talking trees are responsible for the recent increase in the price of lumber and that Princess Celestia is in negotiations with them. Essentially, they're controlling Canterlot at the moment, but not for long. The princess is a ruthless dictator, she won't stand for anypony trying to get a hoof up on her. Those trees are as good as firewood, mark my words. The price of lumber will be going down any moment now."
3. Honeydew had almost missed her train, which might have been surprising, considering she had a tendency to run everywhere, if it weren't for the fact that she was easily distracted by potential stories. Luckily, she remembered just in time and hopped onto the train with little delay. She was panting now but that didn't stop her from briskly walking to her car. Finally, she found it, and she slid open the door with such force that the room might have shook. She stared at Valen Orange for a few seconds before casually dismissing him to check out the room. She looked out the window, slid her back against the wall and eyed everything in the car. She ducked down quickly and looked under the seats. She shoved Valen Orange aside a moment to inspect the floor he had been standing on. Finally, she hopped onto a seat. "Everything appears to be in order," she muttered, taking out her notepad and writing on it with a quill in her mouth. She put the notepad back into the satchel she was carrying around her neck. She looked back at Valen Orange again. "You look familiar," she said, point-blank.
4. Why are all your RPs so tempting to participate in? LOL Also, I hope you aren't getting to tired of me participating in pretty much every RP you've started so far recently. LOL
5. It's a WIP app, so the user probably hasn't gotten around to finishing the cutie mark story.
6. Donut Joe was off on a trot through Canterlot to the local candy shop. It was a fair distance from his own donut shop, but he didn't mind that much. He could always use the exercise. He entered the shop, not particularly looking at the pony behind the counter. He looked down at the display case, noting the various candies. "Heeey, Mr. Cocoa. How's the biz?" he said good-naturedly, still not looking up. He trotted over to another display case. "Hmm. Can't remember the last time I was in here." Donut Joe scratched at his messy mane with one hoof as he searched through the candies. "Where yous guys red hots at, anyway? I'm trying out this new recipe. I'm thinking-a callin' it RED HOT DONUTS. I figure you can't go wrong with sweet and hot, am I right? What do you think?" He finally glanced upwards and made an "Oh" sound at realizing that the pony behind the counter wasn't Mr. Cocoa.
7. "It's kind of hard to do anything else while reading at the same time. I've tried that already, it didn't work out too well! And T-Glassy really isn't as... hmm. Well, quite as coordinated as I am. But I always find a way around that. We both love sweets, so hanging around and digging into a delicious treat is a great bonding method!" Cinnabar Star suddenly glanced at her flank. "Eh, of course, an athlete needs to be careful not to go TOO overboard on the sweets." She gave Heart Healer a little grin. She frowned a little when the doctor asked her another question. "It's... kind of both. I love my parents and my sissy-missy to pieces, but I really want to set out on my own. Be my own mare. Live my own life. And well, yeah... Some of my friends already have their own houses. A couple of them have even started hanging out with a special somepony they've found. I don't want to be behind the times." She paused, then muttered. "Well, more than we are already."
8. Tawny watched the waitress approach and grimaced a bit, recognizing her as the pony that spilled somepony else's drink. He was beginning to rethink whether he should be there or not. He scooted a little closer to the window in hopes that he would be able to avoid any potential coffee spilling the waitress might do. He smiled at her; a wide, nervous grin. When she arrived with the coffee, he averted his eyes and muttered a quick, "thank you."
9. Roleplay Type: Mane RP Name: Shiny Pebbles Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Unicorn Eye colour: Gold Coat: Her coat is dark gray but often covered in dirt smudges and black soot. She tends to wear hard hats. Mane/Tail: Her mane and tail are fluffy and left in no particular style at all. Her mane and tail are coloured similar to that of a dark-shaded rainbow. Physique: Shiny Pebbles has a muscular physique, making her very strong. Her horn is also much longer than the average mare's horn. Residence: Fillydelphia Occupation: Freelance Hard Labor (frequently works in mining operations but will occasionally help out with construction and helping ponies move heavy stuff) Cutie Mark: A cart full of gems. Shiny Pebbles loved to accompany her father, Glowstone, whenever he went out to dig or mine for gold and gems (a hobby of his). They didn't usually find much of anything other than dirt, but that was okay with Shiny Pebbles because she was just happy to spend time with her father. One day, they went deep into a cave during their search. Her father told her to stick close to him, so she wouldn't get lost or run into any trouble without him around. But then, her father stumbled and fell into a small pit, breaking his leg. Shiny Pebbles managed to help him out of the pit, but her father couldn't move any further. Glowstone told his daughter to go back and get help, but Shiny Pebbles was afraid of leaving him. She didn't want to leave her father hurt, but also, being a filly, she didn't have any control over her magic, so she wouldn't be able to cast a light spell so she could find her way back. But she came up with a plan. She helped her father into the small cart they had brought with them. And then, she started to pull. Her father was very concerned about her hurting herself pulling a full-grown stallion, but Shiny Pebbles insisted and was sure to take things slow. It was hard, but she didn't quit, only stopping to take a break when she needed to. Her father kept the path out well-lit with his magic. Halfway back, Shiny Pebbles became very tired from all the pulling. She tried pulling another inch, but the cart wasn't budging. She tried to put all her strength and being into pulling the cart... And then, her horn started to glow. And the cart started to glow, too. It started to move, and it felt almost effortless pulling the cart. She was able to get back into town and get her father to a doctor pony. And with that accomplished, Shiny Pebbles gained her cutie mark. Her talent is in carrying heavy loads, but the cutie mark also symbolizes her strong will and ability to take charge. History: Shiny Pebbles led a simple life as a filly. Her father worked making lanterns and selling them to other ponies. There wasn't a whole lot of bits to be made in that business, but they got by. It wasn't terribly difficult for Shiny Pebbles to be satisfied. She enjoyed spending time with her family (her father, mother, and her two younger brothers when they were born), and she had some friends at school, so life was pretty good. After she got her cutie mark, she wanted to get herself prepared for her destiny. She started taking every chance she could get to build up her strength. Around her neighborhood in Fillydelphia, she was known for being persistently helpful when it came to carrying another pony's stuff for them. Elderly ponies in the neighborhood became particularly exasperated when the filly tried to insist on carrying them across the street. In addition, she also did some reading on the theories and applications of magical telekinesis. She was never really able to duplicate the magic she had managed when she was trying to pull the cart in the cave, but her father told her it was very common for fillies and colts to have difficulty with magic, and that she shouldn't expect results right away. Nonetheless, Shiny Pebbles spent a lot of time trying to use her magic to lift a mere pebble. Her practicing would pay off later when she became a mare and graduated on from lifting pebbles with her magic to lifting rocks, and sometime even later, the occasional small boulder and other very heavy objects. She started off doing local work in Fillydelphia: pulling carriages and helping ponies move furniture. It wasn't a bad job, but Shiny Pebbles felt there was more she could do and that those jobs weren't challenging enough. So, she started doing some part-time work as a construction pony helping move debris and building materials to and from the construction site. It was a pretty good job, but it also felt a little lonely. Most of the construction ponies there shared a common passion in fixing and building things. While many of the construction ponies she met were nice to her, she still felt a little left out and lost during some of their conversations. It was only until she was hired on for a mining job that she started feeling a little more comfortable. It gave her a nostalgic feeling from those days when she used to help her father in his hobby of trying to find gems and gold. But more importantly, she felt like she was actually making a connection with other ponies. After five or six mining jobs, befriending a different pony in some of those jobs, Shiny Pebbles had an idea. She wrote to each of her new friends and asked them how they would feel about teaming up together and being their own crew-for-hire. They all agreed that it would be a good idea, and since then, they've become good friends who take on a variety of jobs, especially when they involve mines or caves. Currently, Shiny Pebbles is content with her life. She loves her work, and she loves her friends. Since her job tends to be freelance, she usually has to go about looking for work for her and her friends, and occasionally, they do their own odd jobs specific to their talents to keep their wages steady during slow business times. Character Summary: Shiny Pebbles is a pretty down-to-earth, practical pony. She doesn't really understand the point of having overly fancy things or made-up things. She's not so practical, though, that she can't cut loose and have a little fun. She particularly enjoys picnics with friends, small celebrations, competitions involving strength, and pie-eating contests (all that hard work she does sure works up an appetite!). She has many qualities that make her a great leader being great at motivational speaking, leading by example, and keeping things focused and on-task. This comes so naturally to her; however, that off the job, she can appear bossy and controlling. Usually (but not always) she realizes when she takes things too far and makes an effort to apologize to any pony she might have gotten too bossy with. Her bossiness can be particularly evident when it comes to following safety procedures. Perhaps stemming from that time when her father got hurt, she has a bit of an obsession with making sure everypony is wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following proper procedures. She doesn't want to see anypony getting hurt on her watch. Shiny Pebbles isn't all about everything physical. She believes that it's important to train the mind along with the body, so on occasion, a pony can find her simply reading a book or participating in a puzzle or chess (she has some difficulty with chess, though, and often loses). She doesn't particularly enjoy reading as a hobby, but considers it a vital component of keeping her mind active. It's just as necessary as eating or breathing air. She can't stand fictional literature, though, and prefers reading books that have practical value: books about mining, magical application, remedies for sore muscles, etc. As far as magic goes, Shiny Pebbles' limited imagination and innate abilities have her capable of using two spells. The first spell is the ability to shine light in a dark place, which is fairly simple to do and something that was taught to her by her father. The second spell, of course, is the ability to use magical telekinesis. In the latter area, she has shown excellent skill. Perhaps because of the size of her horn or simply because she has been able to translate her physical strength into mental strength, she is capable of lifting very heavy objects with her magic. Her limitation in that area comes from the fact that multiple objects are a little harder to keep focused on, and so she can really only lift a few small objects or one very heavy object at a time. Shiny Pebbles is very loyal to her friends and an all-around nice pony once one gets past that bossy, safety-concerned, limited imagination part of her. Naturally, she's also a hard worker and has received a few glowing reviews from ponies that have hired her and her crew on jobs in the past.
10. "Monster hunter?" Honeydew asked, as she started carefully taking the melon off the stand. She put the melon on the ground and put a hoof on it. Her expression became thoughtful. "Hmm. Well, I guess you could say I hunt monsters in a way. But not to fight them or anything. Like I said, I'm The Daily Turnip's top journalist. It's a newspaper in Manehattan. I hunt down the very best stories, no matter what the risk, in order to bring ponies everywhere... THE TRUTH!" She lifted a hoof high into the air. The exclamation she made might have echoed had she been in a cave or other more closed-in area. The watermelon nearly rolled out from under her, so she quickly put her hoof back onto the ground. "There are some ponies out there, powerful ponies, who don't want us normal, everyday hard-working ponies to know the truth behind all the mysterious, unexplained happenings going on in Equestria. Somepony has to stand up and be heard. And that somepony is ME... with the help of my employer and co-workers at The Daily Turnip." She reached into the satchel and pulled out a copy of yesterday's newspaper, which she then set on the watermelon stand. The top headline read: DOORWAY TO OTHER WORLDS KEPT SECRET! "Here. Read and discover the truth. That copy's free, but if you want to keep up to date, informed, in the know, and stand up to the PONIES keeping us down, you're going to want to order a subscription. Two bits for Manehattan locals, two and a half for a non-local like you." She slapped down a business card. "Here's our base of operations. Just head on over to the post office, and they'll get you all set up."
11. It had been nerve-wracking, as it always was, going into the coffee shop before or after school. His mother didn't want him to have coffee, and he felt kind of guilty for deliberately disobeying his mother, but... Tawny loved coffee! There was nothing that tasted better, and for a few split seconds, drinking coffee made him feel... different. He still felt very, very nervous after drinking coffee, but he also felt invincible. Like whatever was going to cause problems, he could deal with. He didn't usually feel that way. It took some time convincing the adults in charge that he was allowed to drink coffee, even though, he was very, very young, but he had finally managed to secure a table and his order. The best thing about sitting at a table in Cloudsdale was that the clouds were so much more comfortable to sit on than the ground. He cast a nervous glance over his shoulder, hoping nopony he knew, especially not his mother, would catch him at the coffee shop. And so, he waited for his order to come. A double expresso shot with extra cream and some vanilla.
12. Dunno. I think I left a post, and then a couple others posted. I was waiting for some pony else to post, but I can post again to get things moving.
13. Donut Joe has a tough guy attitude. Donut Joe lives in Canterlot. Changelings attacked Canterlot during the Royal Wedding. Donut Joe defends his donuts. ^ This pic has the potential to be all kinds of awesome, and yet it does NOT exist! Why, for the love of Celestia, WHY does it NOT exist?! Besides, I think Donut Joe needs more fanart. If anypony (or multiple someponies) want to take this request, I would be ever so appreciative!
14. Moon Walker beamed and returned her hug with a hoof pat on the shoulder. "Good to see you, sis. Nice to meet you, Sergeant Acclaim." The Ball had him in his usual casual, laid-back attitude. If it weren't for his military wear and the subtle way in which he stood and walked, a pony probably wouldn't have been able to guess he was part of the guard. "I think I've heard a little about Bridlebank Beach. The more things change, the more things stay the same. Just can't stay out of trouble, can you?" He grinned. His grin only got wider when his sister bragged about his performance skills. He rubbed at a part of his shirt with his hoof and looked at it, his expression becoming sly. "Well, I have been known to wow a crowd or two. You can count on me being there. I'd never pass up an opportunity like this. Superior officers are comedy gold mines." He reached into his shirt and pulled out a rather thick scroll. "This scroll contains all the golden nuggets of funny I can say about our captain." He paused a second, his expression becoming serious. "Ah, but not without affording him the respect and honor he deserves, of course." The serious expression disappeared in an instant when he looked back at the scroll. "My only problem is figuring out which ones I should use for the roasting and which ones I should save for comedy nights with the guys."
15. "Oh, I try not to overexert myself. I don't want an injury, either. I can't compete if I'm sick or injured." Cinnabar Star smiled gently, but it disappeared when the doctor seemed determined to bring the conversation back to something she'd rather not talk about. Those private moments she had to herself, at night, when she gazed up at the stars and pondered about everything that had happened and all the worries and fears that came with it... No, it was best to just keep those things for the nighttime when nopony else had to deal with it but her. She forced a smile. "I like dancing," she said, trying to divert the subject. "I'm not the best dancer, but I've got some basic moves down pretty good. It's good exercise. I'm not much for reading, though. My little sissy-missy loves reading! I think maybe she spends a little too much time reading, sometimes. I think if she opened up a little bit and made some friends, she'd probably feel a lot better for it."
16. Honeydew rolled her eyes a bit. "Of course, watermelons grow with sunlight! That's not what I'm talking about." She pointed a hoof at the giant melon. "Melons this big have the potential to become quite... monstrous." Her voice lowered a bit, as though she was sharing a secret with the filly. "First, they start decaying shortly after becoming ripe, even though, every normal precaution has been taken. Then, they start making strange noises. Slurping sounds, hissing, groaning..." She eyed the watermelon. "The next thing you know it grows glowing red eyes and super sharp teeth, and it's rolling around on its own looking for fillies and colts to gobble up!" Her face was very close to the filly's face at this point. Then, she suddenly lifted her hooves off the stand and moved out of the poor adorable filly's personal space. "Buuuuut... it doesn't sound like this melon has met any of the required conditions for that to happen. It'd be a shame to have to smash this huge, juicy watermelon because it turned into a monster before I could eat it." She beamed suddenly, then threw seven bits onto the stand. "Like I said, it looks high quality. I'll pay you seven bits for it, not eight, but it's more than six."
17. Hey there! If you're having trouble figuring out where to jump in or you're afraid of messing up, I wouldn't mind doing a private RP with you in the Private RP board, so that you can kinda get a handle on things. I noticed your first approved character, Monochrome, is a Pegasus. I have two Pegasi characters, one that is back and forth from Cloudsdale to Canterlot and a colt that lives in Cloudsdale but also spends a lot of time with some of his other relatives. Or if you're willing to branch out somewhere or have an idea you want to play around with, I'd be happy to use any of my other characters.

19. "-And then as soon as your mother gets here, we'll see if we can get a family photo with Princess Luna! Won't that be fun?" Moon Walker was feeling pretty good. It was nice to be able to just relax, enjoy quality time with his son, while at a really nice party. Not hearing a peep from his son, which wasn't all that unusual now that he thought about it... was it? He got lost on this train of thought, but the silence persisted, and he finally looked down to see why his son didn't have anything to say about that. Tawny wasn't there. Huh. He blinked and tried to look over the crowd to see if he could spot the young colt. No sign of him. There were too many other ponies for him to spread his wings and get a better view. He frowned a little. Maybe he went to get more punch. Mmm. Punch. He beamed and headed back over to the buffet area and the bar. He ordered some punch and looked around, still seeing no sign of Tawny. Well, there probably wasn't anything to worry about. It was a big party, full of some of his best friends and colleagues. No way anything could go wrong. He was sure Tawny would be fine. If he remembered right, Tawny was a pretty brave little colt, and he had looked so cute that one time when he was practicing his own guard routine. Runs in the family! he thought proudly. He sipped at his punch and did another quick glance for his son before spotting a completely different family member. He blinked. "Hey!" he said, in a voice that signified recognition. He slid over close to the red-coloured pegasus mare. "Fire, what's up?" Not exactly the greeting you'd expect an older brother to give his younger sister after they hadn't seen each other for a few months, but that's just the way he was, sometimes. ... Too much punch meant an urgent need to use the little colt's room. Having done his business and feeling more relieved from it, Tawny went back to the festivities. His pupils dilated upon realizing that he had lost his father and that he was surrounded by a crowd of other ponies. "Oh no." Tawny was not a brave pony. He was the exact opposite of a brave pony. He took a few steps back, bumping into the wall. He started to wheeze a little bit. "Too many ponies!" He glanced around this way and that. The young pegasus took off in a run to find some space that wasn't crowded with too many ponies. He ran past several other ponies, muttering apologies as he went if he accidentally stepped on hooves. It was inevitable that he would end up bumping into somepony else. Thoroughly halted in his tracks, Tawny groaned and lifted a hoof to his head. "Sorry," he muttered again, trying to get his bearings.
20. Moon Walker trotted through the entrance, clad in aforementioned military regalia, with his son, Tawny, following close behind. He veered off the red carpet a bit to make room for other ponies coming through and beamed at the proceedings going on around him. "So, son, what do you think? Pretty fancy party, huh?" He gestured at everything with a hoof. Tawny was dressed in a little tuxedo meant for colts with a red bow-tie. He edged a little closer to his father, nervous not only about being surrounded by so many ponies he didn't know but also about being in the palace. What if he accidentally broke something expensive? Would he get in trouble, would his father be fired, would the princesses hate him? He didn't want his father to think he was a complete wimp, though, especially since he seemed so happy about being at this army ball thing. Tawny avoided looking at his father but nodded. "Y-yeah, this is... a great party," he said, forcing a smile. "That's the spirit!" Moon Walker exclaimed, oblivious to his son's discomfort. "Now, let's go find some punch!" He got about half-way to a buffet table before he stopped in his tracks. He casted an uncertain look toward Tawny. "You like punch, right?" "Yes?" Tawny dared a glance up at his father. He was smiling. That's good. Maybe the party wouldn't be so bad, after all. And he did actually like punch. "Great!" He lead the way to the buffet table.
21. Honeydew scoffed at having "melony goodness" for several days. "Make it three days. I haven't had a good watermelon in a few months. I'll have it down to the rind in no time, or my name isn't Honeydew, ace reporter for The Daily Turnip." Honeydew's eyes narrowed even more once she heard the price, focusing in on the little filly like an arrow shot to a bullseye. "Eight bits, huh?" she asked skeptically. She grabbed the giant watermelon between her hooves, held it up to her head and shook it. No swishing noises; that was a good sign. She placed the watermelon back on the stand and looked at it thoughtfully. "Well, it isn't exactly highway robbery, but where I come from a watermelon this size goes for six bits." She tapped the watermelon with her hoof. "Then again..." She licked her lips. "It looks like a pretty high quality melon..." She shook her head to snap herself out of her watermelon craving haze. "Or so it seems." She slammed both front hooves down on the stand, towering over the filly. "Just one thing I need to know. This watermelon wouldn't happen to have been grown on the southern side of your farm, exposed to the direct light of the full moon, harvested three days after a night of timber wolf howling, and rolled through a tunnel, cave, or other dark place at some point in time... would it?"
22. I haven't forgotten... I sure am eager to post, though. Not sure it was an entirely good idea to keep the dates to just four at a time. Ya sure we couldn't like... hmm... I dunno... have a few different threads going on or something?
23. "Oh!" Cinnabar Star made a thoughtful face and waved a hoof. "About half a day, I guess. Maybe a little more than half? But I always find time to eat! Mumsy and Daddio are always getting onto me about eating too fast, but it's either that or miss out on some training or having fun with friends or spending quality time with my darling little sissy-missy." She beamed. "So, of course, I spend time doing things other than working and training! This body needs fuel to move! I've never heard of an athlete who didn't eat, after all." She made a satisfied nodding motion, then paused a moment to consider sleep. "Tired? Well, ah... hmm..." Cinnabar Star suddenly became interested in looking at the various things in the office instead of at the doctor. "Not ALL the time. Just sometimes. Sometimes, I stay up kinda late, you know, doing... stuff." The young mare suddenly got quiet. She cleared her throat to break the silence after a good minute. "So, where do you get your hair done? It looks nice!"
24. ^ First impression - nice RPer whom I immediately forgot sometime during my absence (Sorry! To be fair, I often forget how old I am and what my birthday is). Second impression - fiery elephant who NEVER forgets! Scary! Third impression - goofy, friendly, eager, and all-around cool and definitely not scary!
