  1. Oh-ho! Most excellent! I enjoy Sherlock Holmes, Ellery Queen, and some Agatha Christie novels myself. I also like fantasy, sci-fi, and pretty much everything except some horror, romance, and books with maps in the front. Have you watched BBC's Sherlock?
  2. Ah, modesty! Yet another sign of your overall awesomeness. Different question: Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I'm operating on the impression that you enjoy reading (possibly a lot, in fact). What do you like to read?
  3. So, are you naturally awesome or did you train to be awesome at some prestigious Awesome Academy?
  4. ^ Has a good grasp on the important parts of characterization and story-telling. Also seems to be enthusiastic as well as ambitious (with all the RP projects you got going on and all)
  5. Yay! Thanks, Rosewind! I guess the trouble must be on my end, then. I hope Firefox will help!
  6. The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 song. It's super catchy, and the first villain song, technically. It was also the episode that made me recognize my bronyness.
  7. But I'm not just having trouble with the log. I'm also having trouble with putting names in the character names section and adding things to the interest section. But I will try downloading Firefox tonight after work and see if I get results from that.
  8. I have. Several times. I would also like to add that I still can't put any names in the character names section nor can I add anything to the interests section. I get the same error message each time.
  9. Bump. Still having this problem... Another user messages me today to tell me that my having a log would be convenient. LOL
  10. Roleplay Type: Mane RP Name: Sweets Galore Sex: Female Age: Mare Species: Earth Pony Eye colour: Silver Coat: Her coat is silky, soft, and light pink. She typically wears elegant dresses that are the top of the line of current fashion trends. Mane/Tail: Sweets has soft, bouncy scarlet locks, which are curled in her mane and free-flowing in her tail. Physique: Sweets is tall and thin with a very model-like appearance. Residence: Stalliongrad Occupation: Actress Cutie Mark: A lollipop. Little Sweets Galore loved sweets ever so much. But what's a filly to do when mommy-dearest doesn't give a sizable allowance of bits to buy said beloved sweets? Even as a filly, she was determined to have things her way, no matter what. So, she started practicing a little "act" that would help net her the candy she wanted. She made the most adorable faces she could. She worked on making with the "crocodile tears." When she felt she had perfected her perfect little plan, she trotted over to the candy shop and turned herself loose on the poor candy shop owner. She cooked up a story about how she misplaced the bag of bits her mommy had given her for candy, and that her mommy had wanted some candy, too, and she didn't want her mommy to think she had bought candy and eaten it all. Oh, how much trouble would she be in. Boo-hoo. Sob, sob. Throw in a couple of pretty-pleases, and the candy shop owner fell for it... hook, line, and sinker. She was given a lollipop and a bag of sweets for her performance. And just as she walked out the door, her cutie mark appeared! Everyone assumed it must mean that she had a future in the candy-making business, but this was not the case. The lollipop symbolized her talent in acting sweet... and possibly her ability to make "suckers" out of everypony else. History: Sweets Galore grew up in Stalliongrad in the Highland District. She was raised by her mother, a pegasus named Hot Stuff who worked as a factory boss. This meant that she was born with some wealth already. Despite the fact that Hot Stuff had a pretty good head on her shoulders, she had a hard time keeping a balance on spoiling her filly and keeping her in line. She did her best. It didn't help matters that Sweets was a rebellious foal who did everything she could to circumvent her mother's rules without actually breaking them. As a filly, Sweets did poorly in school, owing to the fact that she had little interest in paying attention to her booooooring teacher. The only time she applied herself was whenever she got to be on stage... during a talent show or a school play, Sweets shined above everypony else, especially after her cutie mark appeared. The audiences loved her, finding her sweet disposition adorable. She was well on her way to becoming a filly star. Unfortunately, her mother held her back from getting her hoof into any potentially big-time shows, insisting that the last thing her daughter needed was fame and being spoiled by other ponies at her young, impressionable age. She told her daughter that maybe when she was older, she could try out for those kind of shows. Naturally, Sweets was unhappy about this and decided not to speak to her mother for a month. Sweets' rebellion against her mother continued for a while, and her mother tried everything to get her to behave during this time. At one point, Hot Stuff decided it was time to try a positive reinforcement plus an attempt to induce responsibility tactic. In other words, her mother presented Sweets Galore with a pet. The pet was a bit exotic, being a blueberry fruit bat, and at first, Sweets took to resenting her mother all over again for getting her a stupid, lousy pet. The blueberry bat turned out to be unflinchingly loyal and caring towards her, and slowly... the filly warmed up to the bat. Soon, her pet became her closest friend. It would be her only real friend due to her tendency to look down on everypony else and think only (well, mostly) of herself. The day Sweets became a mare and was able to set out on her own was the happiest day of her life. Finally, she could be rid of her mother and be free to do whatever she wanted. It was not quite as easy as she thought it would be. Adorableness alone wasn't enough to make it in the acting business. So, Sweets began practicing her acting skills and presented to her audiences vastly improved and versatile performances. She could be sweet and innocent or she could be dark and mysterious. She could be good or bad. Love lead, heroine, antagonist, supporting role, she could do it all. And yet, it still wasn't enough. Sweets particularly didn't like being in supporting roles. She deserved to be the star, and she despised any up-and-coming acting pony who tried to get in her way. And so, when just out-acting everypony wasn't enough, Sweets looked for other means to get what she wanted. This resulted in her using blackmail and other mean-spirited methods to crush her competition and keep up-and-coming acting ponies out of the acting scene altogether. Sweets has become a very accomplished pony, and she's famous for the roles she has played in Rock Comet and Jewel Mane, Goldhoof, Pride and Ponies, Cutie Blanca, Singing in Cloudsdale, All My Foals, and much, much more. But to her, acting is more than just her job. The whole world is her stage, and she's not only the star, she's the director of all the action. She spends her life making sure that everything stays that way, no matter whose hooves she has to step on. Character Summary: For being a celebrity, Sweets is generally thought of as having a pretty sweet, gentle disposition and being generous. She does donate quite a bit to charity, after all, and most ponies who meet her would describe her as being very nice, even to ponies who would ordinarily be beneath a celebrity's notice. Of course, she is also thought to be as air-headed and vain as any other celebrity as well. This picture of her, of course, is wrong on most accounts. Sweets has cultivated a very good, practically spotless (not entirely, of course), public image for herself. The true her is actually very self-centered, mean-spirited, insincere, cunning, devious, and clever. To think of her as an air-head, ditz, bordering perhaps on naive, would be a grave, grave mistake indeed. She is, however, very, very vain. Being a pretty pony isn't something that just happens, after all. It takes work. And why shouldn't she enjoy all of her hard work? Naturally, donating to charity is all part of maintaining her practically perfect public image. She doesn't let her smaller funds deter her from living a life of luxury, however. What are colt-friends and gifts from an adoring public for after all? It is pretty easy to fall into the trap that somepony with such generosity would be capable of gold-digging, and Sweets takes full advantage of that fact. And how could anypony think she might have ill motives when she's generally acting so nice? Sweets is capable of such things as blackmail simply because she believes her happiness and fun to be more important than anypony's feelings or finances. But it can be lonely at the top. Because Sweets knows what she's capable of and believes everypony else to be capable of it (to a lesser degree, of course), she doesn't really trust anypony else. She does have friends: her personal trainer, her agent, and a couple of elite ponies that frequently follow her, but it's all just another part of the show. She doesn't actually care about them, and she's pretty sure they don't actually care about her (even if they probably do). Her pet blueberry bat is the only exception. As such, it's very common for other ponies to see her treat the little bat like he means the world to her... because he does. She will drop everything to tend to him when he's sick (something she would never do for any other animal), she takes him everywhere, she insists that he is given the very best in top-of-the-line pet products and food, and she shows actual, genuine affection for him. So, perhaps Sweets Galore isn't all rotten to the core. Animal Companion: Name: Myrtilles Sex: Male Species: Fruit bat (blueberry type) Character summary: Being a pet, Myrtilles isn't capable of speech or very complex patterns of thought. He is affectionate and playful towards his owner and exhibits a fierce loyalty and protectiveness of her. He hates being dressed up with tiny little top-hats, monocles, and bow-ties, but he tolerates it.
  11. ^ Your username makes me hungry... all the time. BBQ + Pizza? It just isn't fair! Also, you're awesome and nice.
  12. (OOC: Since you mentioned that Mystery Veil shows up at the shop every early morning, I'm going to assume that Donut Joe knows her name... hope that's okay!) Donut Joe grinned at Mystery Veil and hoofed the bits into a make-shift cash drawer. "Just anotha early morning, eh, Mystery Veil?" His horn glowed, placing a warm, fresh pink-frosted donut in wax paper and giving it to her. There were two pots of coffee behind the stall, for 'just-in-case' purposes. He placed a giant, yellow-coloured coffee mug with the word JOE written in big, black letters on it on the temporary donut stand. Then, he poured one pot of coffee into the mug and prepared it the way he remembered Mystery Veil telling him she liked it. "Yous look like you're about to go to sleep any second now. Why don't you take a seat and let the coffee work its magic?" His horn glowed again, and he pulled out a seat just a little ways from one of the tables near the stand. Then, he turned away to begin brewing another pot of coffee, but as always, he kept his listening ears open.
  13. Somewhat aloof, but friendly and fun once you get to know him!
  14. I have so many things to smile about, that it's hard to choose just one. I am never alone, always loved, always cherished. I have the best, most cuddliest kitty in the whole world. I am blessed with many talents and gifts, such as writing and learning quickly. At my workplace, people always compliment me on my cheerful attitude, and I love spreading the joy. I can write small posts at work because I am unsupervised, and it's slow right now. I am easily amused and laugh everyday! My "digestive" condition is in remission. No pain is a beautiful thing! I have recently acquired a social life! Woo!
  15. ^ Seems chipper, and given that you're doing a request thread, generous. And judging by your avatar, a pretty cool artist.
  16. Garden Gait. Peaceful suburbia or a town with a dark secret? Well, Honeydew wagered it was the latter. She was toying with multiple theories about Garden Gait: town's population entirely replaced by changelings, stalked by rabid vampiric jackalopes, infested with braiiiiiiiin slugs. She couldn't put her hoof on it, but SOMETHING felt off about the town. No doubt, one of the princesses had something to do with it. On a day like this, in the investigative mood she was in, Honeydew wouldn't normally spare a stand a second glance. Had she been terribly busy, she would not have hesitated to barrel it over in a rush to get to... wherever she was going. She wouldn't have even felt a twinge of guilt about it, mainly because intense focus came at the expense of everything else. But this was different. The scent of fresh watermelon was a familiar, comfortable scent. It was a scent that wafted in through her nose and directly to her brain where it brought her attention to delightful, fillyhood memories. Honeydew halted in her tracks. She turned and stared at the watermelon on the stand. The glorious green rinds, the juicy red insides, fillyhood summers on the farm, spitting seeds at crows with her parents and Uncle Cantaloupe, sticky faces, stories, laughter... Honeydew's eyes started to shine a little bit. She shook her head and tried to get a hold of herself. It had been a pretty good while since she had eaten watermelon. She got to eat watermelon when she went to the farm to visit her parents, but she usually tried to keep visits short and sweet. A pony could only stand so much "Settle down with a nice stallion," "Grandfoals," "You've gotten skinny," "You've gotten fat," and "You should write more" before they went completely out of their mind. She took a confident step towards the stand and looked down at the filly operating it. Honeydew almost recoiled at all the cuteness the filly was exhibiting. Big eyes, bright smile, brightly coloured... Was that a backwards S on the Watermelons for Sale sign? The horror. All this cuteness in one place was CLEARLY unnatural! She'd need to consult some storybooks regarding unnaturally cute creatures and see what it turned up. Perhaps the town had been... INVADED by these adorable BUT SINISTER creatures. Of course, between adorably sinister possibly pony-gobbling creatures and her parents, Honeydew would rather choose the former. Watermelon was a necessary risk! Giving the filly a suspicious look, she gestured with a hoof towards the biggest watermelon on the stand. "How much?"
  17. "I am about to be... brilliant!" ... Technically, that was Pinkie Pie while she was playing Chancellor Puddinghead... but still...
  18. Eeek. Sorry! As you can probably tell, I'm no good at starting RPs... (I probably shouldn't have limited the RP to just ponies with farming experience, either. Ah well, lesson learned). I think a little bit of both would be best.
  19. 5 hours until I get off work, then I party. Must channel the spirit of Pinkie Pie!

  20. Should anypony in Canterlot have been unfortunate enough to be craving donuts that day, they would find that Canterlot's most beloved donut shop was closed. For renovations. Construction ponies swarmed the shop, hard at work building what appeared to be some kind of expansion. It was not too difficult to miss that the construction ponies had been treated to complimentary donuts and coffee. There was also a sign: DONUT JOE'S CLOSED. In addition, there were some directions to Joe's... Donut Stand. Donut Joe whistled a little to himself as he worked his magic to keep his donuts warm and fresh. Outside conditions weren't exactly ideal conditions but he was making do. It must have been an odd sight, seeing the unicorn baker in somepony's (a friend of his) front yard selling a very limited selection of donuts and coffee. Joe himself probably didn't care much how odd a sight he was. He wasn't going to let construction interfere with his business. With his friend's permission, he had even been allowed to set up some tables in case ponies wanted to hang out while they chowed down on their donuts. Now, he waited. And waited. He wondered if he should make a bigger sign.
  21. Cinnabar Star grinned wide. This was one of her favorite subjects! She was really starting to like this counseling business. "Oh yes, I'm a competitive athlete. Running, jumping, swimming... But especially running. I'm hoping to become a big-time all-star one day, but if I'm going to do that, I have to train and train hard. Nopony got to be an all-star athlete sitting on their rump, after all." As if compelled by saying it, she stood up and started pacing. "I'm still just a rookie, but I know that becoming the best athlete I can be is my destiny. I just wish I had more time to devote to my training regimen. I'm trying to move out of my parents' place, not that I don't just love my dear Mumsy and Daddio and sissy-missy, but I'm a mare now! I need to be out on my own. I mean, what if I find a special somepony and HE finds out I'm still living with my parents? That wouldn't be a good thing! So, I have this job as a mailmare now, and it's good because all the running I do in that job is helpful, but it doesn't hold a candle to concentrated and deliberate exercise."
  22. Hmmm... You and Lux should cooperate. LOL... I think Lux's character Heart Healer is also a Crystal Empire therapist. LOL...
  23. "Oh!" Talking sounded easy enough. There were a lot of things she could talk about to the doctor. She gave a vigorous nod of her head. "I'm not sure I have that many issues in my life, but I sure do have plenty to talk about. Sometimes, I get so busy that I forget to talk about stuff with my friends!" She laughed. Then, she gave the doctor a questioning look as she followed her into the office. "Um, this won't take too long, will it? I'd love to keep you company since being in this office must be lonely, but I have a strict training regimen to attend to. I can't let myself fall behind. And I need to work off all that crystal berry pie I ate this morning." She flushed slightly at that and took a seat, looking at Heart Healer expectantly.
  24. Soarin gave another groan at Sterling's attempt to cheer him up. "They have apple fritter for dessert today! APPLE FRITTER!" He grasped the other boy's shoulders. "If I don't get some now, I'll NEVER get some. Or well, not until next week. And nobody EVER gives away their apple fritter. I know. I've asked! They'll give away applesauce, peaches, tapioca pudding, even chocolate pudding, carrot cake... but not apple fritter. NEVER apple fritter." His eyes got a little wide there at the end, then he noticed the line had moved up some. He hurried to the next spot and fidgeted. Every once in a while, he sniffed the air and gave a sigh. "Oh man, that smells good. I don't know why everyone complains about the food here. It's so awesome!"
  25. Moon Walker, clad in the usual golden REA armor, had just finished his usual patrol, and it was getting close to time for a lunch break. He did another loop around, just to be safe, then flew down and took off his helmet. Surprisingly, he did not have helmet hair, and his mane fell into place perfectly with little issue. He wondered what he might have for lunch that day when, while passing near the train station, he noticed a zebra. He blinked. It was not entirely unusual to see a zebra in Canterlot, but it was very, very uncommon. Judging by the way she was looking at everything around her, he guessed she had probably never been to Canterlot before. A tourist, then. Well, it would probably be a good idea to welcome her. There was little need for him to be stiff, formal, and all-business when he was on break. He made an easy landing and waved a hoof at the zebra. "Hey there!" He trotted over to her in light steps and smiled. "Welcome to Canterlot!" He paused a moment, then looked down at himself, noting it's possible someone might misinterpret a guard's approach, and laughed. "And don't worry, you're not in trouble. I'm off-duty at the moment. I'm Moon Walker. I just wanted to give you a warm welcome to this beautiful city, and I hope you're going to enjoy your time here. If there's anything you need like directions or anything at all, please let me know."
