      Plenty of open threads are out there. Sometimes the topic doesn't appeal, other times people get too intimidated by ones that move too quick.

      No. It is slow at the moment because the post-holiday spell, up until about mid-Feb, is historically our most crushingly slow time. There aren't a lot of open threads because there simple aren't a lot of threads, period, at this moment.
