  1. The deal was bad but they aren't con artists. Everything was right out in the open. It could be argued that the deal was fair considering they invented the machine and provided the magic. The Apples only would have to grow the apples and sell the cider. Its also common in business to throw out an offer that is unfair with the expectation for it to be negotiated down. Applejack just never bothered negotiating for some reason. As for why the brothers are on the road, the obvious answer is the machine needs a steady supply of apples so they could have been traveling to areas with orchards. Personally I think its because the episode wasn't well written. They obviously are suppose to be shucksters, the writer however failed to show them actually doing something shucksterish. At most they just sort of acted like jerks
  2. The Apples' home was only in danger because they made a very foolish wager. Flim and Flam were not doing anything that would bring danger to any other pony and where in fact providing a service freeing the town of the Apple's monopoly on cider. The Apple family clearly were not willing to make the changes needed to increase production creating a demand that was not being met. Nothing wrong with a business taking advantage of that demand
  3. Maybe Twilight was just confused by the random breaking into song but got into the groove of it? Besides Flim and Flam didn't bring any danger aside from competition to the Apple's cider business, which given the Apple's inability to properly serve the town and unwillingness to make changes was sorely needed.
  4. Oh Alf. If you actually ate the cat like you were always talking about then it would be horrible.
  5. I imagine Rainbow Dash is gaining a gaining a good reputation as a flyer and may be on the cusp of making it into The Wonderbolts or another team. She is put into leadership roles and won the best young flyer competition. The Wonderbolts themselves are aware of her and if they needed another member I would imagine she might be considered. Rarity also seems to be making headway in her career and is probably seen as an up and comer. In Ponyville she is probably not considered a celebrity of any consequence because most of the ponies aren't interested in fashion but she seems to be making a name for herself in the industry. Fluttershy is probably the least known and least respected of the group. She seems to have a reputation among the secondary characters as being weak and her job doesn't put her into any kind of spotlight. She likely isn't really well known outside of her association with the mane characters
  6. Rarity knows about Spike's feelings but cannot get together with him without pony Chris Hansen getting up on her grill. She does however have a close relationship with him and cares greatly for him
  7. I don't get why people like that song. Its fine in context of the episode as it establishes Pinkie's motive and mindset but outside of the episode its just cheesy
  8. I didn't know Silent Hill had brony conventions
  9. And yet she manages to have the best song. Pony rage: Visiting my parents this weekend. I'm not concerned much about hiding the show from them but I'm not going to take up the TV to watch it, plus I probably will be doing something anyways. I'll have to wait longer for ponies
  10. They laughed at her when she was feeling threatened by Mare Do Well Then they laughed at her for not liking to read. Although as you point out they also all laughed at Twilight. They also all laughed at Spike. Princess Celestia needs to teach them a friendship lesson: Stop laughing at your friends when they show weakness.
  11. I also assumed that the migration was for mating purposes or socializing the young ones. Spike may have had to hang with the teens because there weren't any baby dragons yet
  12. KONY sounds like pony, so I support whatever it is
  13. I think moon survival would go better on account of not burning instantly upon arrival
  14. That site is great for trolling forums that aren't pony friendly
  15. I have a feeling that banishing somebody to the sun will result in them not ever coming back, because, you know, its the sun
  16. "I do not havea Facebook Mr. Employer. That is obviously a cartoon bunny who shares the same name as me. I am not a cartoon bunny"
  17. Discord fills the world with disharmonly but he is self aware and knows that he harms others. He makes no attempt to justify his actions. He straight up says he enjoys the trouble he causes. Discord could temper his choas or confine it but he chooses not to. Discord was perfectly able to control himself before he beleived it was safe. This goes back to the sociopath idea. He is aware that what he does is wrong and people will try to stop him. He only chooses to control himself when there is a chance he will suffer for what he feels like doing. He clearly demonstrates the ability to practice self control if it suits him
  18. Use max security settings and don't use a picture of yourself as a profile pic. Boom, employer doesn't know it you
  19. I'm not sure where you got this idea the three of them ruled in a balance. It seems from the episode that Discord ruled and Celestian and Luna then rose up against him, taking over after he was dispatched.
  20. You are misremembering the episode. Discord didn't fight back because he thought he still had influence over the ponies. He points out that there last attempt at using the elements failed which is why he isn't scared, and even taunts them. Discord is definitely different then the angel or devil. Its more akin to a chemical change.A man might present a girl at a bar with the choice to come home with him, but if he has slipped a drug into her drink then he is not in the right. With Fluttershy its even more extreme as she was not given any choice. Thats like tying a person down and giving them a lobotomy. Now the question, is being a sociopath evil? If the sociopath knows the difference between right and wrong then it definitely is. Sociopaths often know what they need to do to avoid trouble, they just don't care if what they do hurts others. If there are no rules does that mean they can't be held accountable because they have no way of knowing what is right or wrong? I think Discord understood enough to know people would oppose him which is why he systematically took out the elements. The well thought out plan to me shows he was aware enough to understand what he was doing and that he would face punishment if it could be dealt out
  21. How could they be illusions? The ponies were obviously manipulated (or in the case of Fluttershy straight up brainwashed) into their behavior. That mind control not an illusion. One of Discord's flaws was that he was overconfident. He just straight up let them take a shot at him. He didn't resist. Aside from the fact that without the elements Celestia was not a direct threat, it would be greater revenge to force her to watch him bring chaos to the land she ruled while not being able to oppose him.
  22. The important thing is to not push or force. Treat it like any other show. You wouldn't hound somebody to watch How I Met Your Mother after all. I would suggest getting them drunk and watching the show. People would be more open to it while drunk
  23. You'd be a big jerk too if you're best friends kept laughing at you
