I'd say an open thread with a charged scenario allowing for multiple participants of various types. A contest of some type, a business venture, or maybe even some kind of adventure/mission for more adventurous types. Ideally, it would be an arena promoting cooperation and interaction.

Though I would say, 4-5 participants would probably be ideal. Too many and you begin to pair off and lose track of the focus of the thread, what other ponies are up to, and if it picks up steam, s...

If not scarring then a quest that is quite simply a good vs. evil. One limited to the confines of 2-4 players so it won't get out of hand or die when one of us can't play any longer. For Canterlot Chronicles of Course. I.E. Some of these character(particularly my own)are built for more cure-the-sickness kind of RPs... not that I'm against joining a fun quest I'd just like an introductory roleplay that involves actually bringing this character... who is generally not within Equ...

I'd have to say an adventure built not for the usual ponies would be an excellent first of flame. For myself at least x3
