  1. Well, you can try out the idea; we'll see how others react in-character. We've even got an Applebloom player that might be interested in a little CMC work, if you think that would be a good idea for a thread.
  2. Certainly, she can lie. I'm not sure most characters would *believe* that lie, but Tempest Shadow does seem to give some precedent that she can cite.
  3. OK... It's got good enough detail, but if this is an AU character, it technically belongs in this forum: https://www.canterlot.com/forum/443-the-multiverse/ World of Equestria is our "Extended Canon" setting for g4; would you like to adapt your character to that, or would you rather I move this over to the AU section?
  4. Hello! Looks like you've got an interesting start to this character. Usually with World of Equestria OC's, we like to have fairly detailed profiles, so we're able to tell what kind of RP's each character would fit well in (slice of life vs. Adventure vs. shipping, things like that). To that end, we have a standard form here: Basically, we like to have at least a paragraph of a character's history and personality each. Incidentally, about gender; is Noonherb gender-fluid (implied by labeling it changeling) or considers herself female, given the pronouns used? It's fine either way, it just helps if we know
  5. Hello and welcome! I'm Blueblood, friendly neighborhood admin here. I'll help guide you through the RP application process, and if you want to knock around some ideas for your first thread on this site, feel free to PM me, either on site or on the Discord.
  6. What a day this had been. Of all the days in Ambrosia's short little life, this would be going down as the worst ever. It had gone from a fun day out watching mama be mama with her whole family, and now she was clinging to Uncle Big Mac's neck, crying softly into his mane because she knew mama was really hurt, and they wouldn't even let her in to kiss and make her better! What kind of doctors were they, who didn't take advantage of the healing power of cute filly kisses? Or even Blue Mama kisses? Did they think they were better kissers than family? "Sniff... sniff... maaamaaa...." The filly's plaintive wailing cried out for comfort, any kind, even that of an older brother, if Zappers was the only comforter to hoof.
  7. As the tea cooled, Kahz levitated his cup up so he could continue his relaxing kneading of Yu's shoulder as he sipped. "Well, I can tell you that you won't lack for a clientele in this town, though I have to confess, you're more likely to hit 'problem patients.'" Las Pegasus, for all the tourist-friendly glitz and glamour, was not without its dark side. After all, an economy that billed itself on catering to indulgences would have its fair share of addicts in the population, either to gambling or to substances. And the presence of showbiz ponies too brought with it their own set of issues. It wasn't exactly something Kahz could wish on the mare in good conscience, even if he did want her around more. But that was too gloomy a thought for a date! "Fortunately, I can say that I won't be one of them at least." He bent his head over to whisper in her ear. "I've only got one addiction, and that's you're sweet love~" He puctuated the point with a tickling flick of his forked tongue, pulling back only when the waitress arrived back with the miso soup and salad, and a printed list of all available sushi rolls. "Ah, thank you! Now, what looks good to you? I have to confess, I'm pretty open in terms of preferences here, so I'll defer to you."
  8. It took a minute for the sobs to come up and out of little Amby, pouring out her sadness into the ever deep bucket of her mom's patient hugs. "Sniff... sniff... P-pwomise?" She looked up at Applejack, little wet and shining eyes looking for the assurance she knew would be there. Mama always made things better; this she knew in her heart of little hearts. "Aun-auntie Rarity won't be upset?"
  9. Gloomy was appreciative of Sugar being willing to share their intentions; she was still quite unused to the idea of opening up too much to what were, technically, still strangers. Not for long, if the quick friendship she had struck up with Sugar Moonlight was the norm for earth ponies, but then again, they weren't going to be staying in Maretime Bay long enough for Gloomy to really get to know Sunny, were they? *That was too sad a thought for so bright a day. Maybe the smoothie would chase it away.* So she hoped, at least, hoofing over the bits and taking a sip of the strawberry-mango concoction. Upon tasting it, her eyes lit up as she delivered her verdict. "Like liquid sunshine in a cup, one short drink will pick me up!" Her smile was really cute, and Sunny would be able to see what had Sugar so smitten as she giggled, "Your rhyme was good too, Sunny, thank you."
  10. Ugh... came home from vacation with a fever... gonna be a little while longer catching up on RP here...

  11. Judging by Sunny's reaction, the rhyming wasn't to be as smoothly taken here as it would be back in Bridlewood. Which made sense; the ponies she'd grown up with were used to her quirks, and had come to rather like them, until her recent creative slump. But with Sugar Moonlight coming home with her... she felt confident that she could recapture some of that old magic along with the new! "We're doing fine back down in the woods, magic's return is bringing the goods. Using horns to craft is really quite handy, so many a merchant is doing quite dandy!" As if there was any doubt, Sunny was quick to provide the boxes... and guess their reason, based on the tone. With a blush, the unicorn tilted her head back to read the sign, hurriedly searching through a list of fruit flavors, half of which she didn't recognize. "I'll... I'll... have what Sugar's having." She hastily plumped for, not having the wherewithal to rhyme with anything like 'orange' or 'banana'.
  12. "As camera centric as my life has been, if I'm to be taking a break, I'd prefer the stage of a play to the set of a movie, whether I'm behind or in front of the footlights." Queen Haven pointed out, wings flicking a bit as she wondered how much her interviewer was really listening to her. Or himself. "And I think it would be something toned down and personal. Something along the lines of Check Off's dramas, have you ever seen one of them? He was the one who had the famous line about seeing a weapon on set in act one means it will be used by act three. Just the tight way he brought everything together in staging and writing and hung truly equine emotion on that strong frame... it left an impression on me, as a young mare."
  13. Grateful at the shift in topic, the Queen relaxed enough to give some thought to the question. Truth be told, royal living was so all-encompassing, that it was hard to see herself as anything but a public figure. Even the private times she carved out were just that, private times, sharing in the hobbies of her daughters rather than having any of her own. "Hm... You know Flick, if you'd asked me that when I was a younger mare, it's just possible that I'd have a rather different answer than I do now. Right now, about the only thing that comes to mind is the theater. I know, it's still a bit of a show, but there's something more... intimate than a broadcast spectacle. I rather fancy I'd do well as an actress, lifetime experience and all that... but you know, I think it would be fun to direct, too."
  14. Quick and friendly the peck may have been, but it still warmed Gloomy Sonnet from horn to hoof. There was a little blush deepening the gray fur in her face as the nuzzle was returned, and she quietly followed Sugar with a serene smile to Sunny's smoothies. Though their body language might be a bit muted for public consumption, it would be rather obvious the two mares were feeling quite close and affectionate right now. *Does this count as a first date? Taking me out for a smoothie?* The unicorn couldn't help but think to herself as they stood in line. Was a subtle way of starting out, but she could appreciate leaving some things implicit, and not wasting words on what was happening naturally. Sunny, it seemed, did remember her name, and Gloomy gave a little wave to the earth pony who had turned up in Bridlewood with a posse that turned everything upside-down for the lot of them. Of course, now that they could see it, it was really turning the world right-side-up again. There was plenty to be grateful to her for, and she was now feeling a little shy, now that she realized that. Why, she'd have never met Sugar Moonlight if not for Sunny, and that thought was just too terrible! "The coming of the Sun to me heralded the Moon; you helped make for me a very joyful June." She smiled a bit at Sunny, hoping her meaning came across. "Thank you."
  15. Gloomy blushed as she realized, once again, that her words were venturing off into unintended implications. At this point, would it just be easier to put the intention into the implications and have done with it? Well, maybe not this time; she really didn't have that kind of interest in any other earth pony right now, for all that she'd taken to Sugar quickly. But such rapid takeoffs of affinity were... if not wholly exceptional, certainly not universal, from the sound of it. "It might not just be old habits, but the new expectations. Everypony looking at me and thinking I ought to be happier than I was just made me feel mushed. Even if ponies don't mind where you want them to go, they will resent being pushed." It was the most charitable way she could think of how Posey was described; maybe it wasn't accurate, but as a poet, she often had to search inwardly for these resonant empathies. "But it would be nice to see Sunny again; she'll probably recognize me, though we were never introduced." To increase the odds of that, she lifted her beret off from the hatstand to put it back on, tilting it to the right angle before following Sugar out. "You will will have to take the lead today; I'm new here, don't know the way." I.e., it was her turn to enjoy the view, which she felt more comfortable now indulging in. After all, if it wasn't minded...
  16. Gloomy nodded, magically manipulating her pancake to sop up the last of the syrup. "It's the mark of a good friend to be comfortably quiet, whether together you feast or you diet." She gave a smile of quiet humor towards Sugar. "The food was very delicious, thank you." Following her to leave the dishes to soak, she splashed her face with some of the water to wipe off the stickiness. "I think I'm ready to face the world now; It'd be nice to be shown around the town before we leave it, after all. You're very sweet, Sugar, but I would like to sample at least one more earth pony before we go, you know"
  17. Gloomy, for her own part, giggled as their interactions resumed the more flirty wavelength they'd only, well, flirted with last night. "On the delay, do not worry; I am not in any hurry!" For all that though, she did tone down her bumping as the rest of the meal was prepared. The move could wait, but breakfast must be served on the hour! Gloomy was peering curiously at the syrups, before deciding to put a generous dollop of both maple and berry on her pancakes, before digging in. "Mmm, 's good." It was had to be eloquent or poetic with her mouth full, which might have been for the best. She would have likely started with the nice texture and robust savoryness of the eggs and cheese, contrasting lightly with the sweet fluffiness of the pancakes, before eventually after 30 minutes remarking lovingly on the sparkly strawberry-syrup like streaks in Sugar's mane... Most of that had to be just put in her smile, and the scooting closer of her own chair to Sugar's. That probably got the point across. After a few minutes and half a plate, she washed her bite down with a swig of coffee and a happy sigh. "I'm likely to just eat 'till I'm full; I hope that doesn't make my company dull. I don't normally talk over a meal; I so rarely share it with somepony real."
  18. Gloomy couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "So light and airy must be your attitude, if it's so easy to get your eternal gratitude!" But she was quick to put her coffee down and trot into the kitchen nook. Pancakes she knew how to make, just mix the batter smooth, pour flat, flip, plate, repeat. Simple enough. Or would be, if this kitchen was built for two. In all fairness, it probably was, but as neither pony in it was used to sharing, both found themselves repeatedly bumping into each other's flanks. It was a bit surprising at first, but Gloomy quickly found herself becoming more flirtatious than irritated with her new housemate. "You know if we keep eating this kind of food, we'll increase these same risks of appearing rude?" Her tone and expression, however, seemed to imply that she wasn't too attached to the appearance of politeness...

  21. Hello! The Roleplay type field is just to indicate what RP setting this character is for, whether for World of Equestria (Our G4 Setting), A New Generation (G5), or Free for All (anything goes), or a crossover/AU of your choice. However, this looks like a regular WoE G4 pony, and a very nice one too!
  22. Sky actually did laugh at Water Wing's dad joke, leaning over to whisper in her ear. "I'll try not to make too many myself, though I suppose I qualify to do so now!" All in all, he was just a little too happy to care either way. He had a beautiful wife now, with a happy bouncing gleaming Glimmer of a daughter, and all their friends around them to feast and celebrate! The winds had caught his sails, and now he was flying high. Speaking of, Scarlett had just arrived with Glimmer and her new, honorary Auntie. Aunties, if Golden Bit wanted in alongside Candy Corn's deal! "Sometimes you have to find who your family really is, sometimes they're already in the house before you're born. Doesn't matter either way, family is still family." She smiled, letting Glimmer's other grandmother take over the time-honored duty of spoiling the little filly. "It looks like the dance is about to start, Sky. In what order did you set this up? I think the first dance is between you two, then Windy and Water, then me and Sky, right?" "That's right." Sky confirmed. "Windy and I also did a special little song for this one too; we'll be playing it on recording while we dance, but I think it came out really sweet." He smiled back over to her, placing his hat down at his table setting before leading her out as the guests found their seats and cleared the ground. As the first notes began to play over the speaker, he led Wind Dancer with a wing out in front of the crowds...

  24. "Eggs scrambled with cheese..." Gloomy rolled the phrase over in her tongue like it was some exotic dish she had never heard of before. And truth be told, simple concept as it was, she'd never had eggs prepared like that. "I believe those shall please." She nodded, quite confident that Sugar would serve something tasty up. After a few seconds, she asked, "Is it all on the hook, or should I help you cook?" The silence and the waiting were starting to get to her; it had been a long time since anypony had cooked breakfast for her.
  25. "Hmm, two eggs please." Two eggs always felt... right, to Gloomy. She wasn't sure why, since her appetite would sometimes wax and wane, affecting how many eggs she could comfortably stomach in a meal. She supposed there was just something aesthetically pleasing about two yolks in one's fried eggs. Unless Sugar served them over-easy or scrambled. "How do you usually cook them?" She asked, curious. "I like most ways eggs are done, except hard-boiled yolks. It's a texture thing, same with my folks."
