  1. Princess Cadenza’s mention of the sale reminded Spin Tale of his original mission; to buy discounted fudge for himself! After all, it would be rude of him to enter the shop only to chat it up with royals without actually buying or tasting anything. The curator perked up as the princess finally mentioned who the unknown gentlecolt was; Polaris, Duke of Manehatten. Polaris was one of the less famous members of the royal court, but Dr. Tale read enough newspapers to know that the duke served as a diplomat for the Royal Court. Once Princess Cadenza apologized for having her attention divided, Spin Tale saw his chance to temporarily depart from the conversation and get some fudge. “I also apologize for my split attentions, ma’am,” Dr. Tale smirked; “But that on-sale fudge you reminded me of looks rather tasty. I oughta’ get some while I still can before the line gets too big.” Giving a nod of courtesy to both the princess and the shy filly, Dr. Tale left the two to their own devices while he waited by the front counter, standing behind a new arrival who wore some sort of crazy flying machine. Since Duke Polaris was still in a conversation with Prince Blueblood, eating a large fudge scoop or two would be more than a suitable way to pass the time…
  2. In all honesty, I can't answer this question. Unlike the Mane 6 in my humble opinion, the CMCs as individuals don't pass the Plinkett Test all that easily (ie. that one bit in the RLM Episode I review where those chaps have to describe characters using their personality alone). Ergo, I find it more difficult to prefer one CMC over the other without an absolute crystal-clear sense of their personality differences.
  3. $40! The most we ever sold a Beanie Babie for was about $7 (Tabasco was the $7 one in case you were wondering), but then again, we try to undercut other sellers just so we can get rid of our Beanies.
  4. Eh, now that I think about, it'd probably take time for Twilight and Cadance to realize that the Princess is the Crystal Heart. Otherwise, the plot synopsis would just have outright said that Twilight needed Cadance. So no, I don't think Cadance will get captured again..... I hope.
  5. Forgive me, but suddenly I now have a hankering for some of Jack's chicken strips. But meh, I won't be impressed until I see a food product shaped like Discord.....
  6. That's right...... Cadance has a crystal heart cutie mark! But then why would Twilight need to search around for this Crystal Heart alone if it's actually Cadance?
  7. Greetings! Is there a main pony that you prefer over the others, I wonder? Or maybe you like one of the other characters better?
  8. So Cadance doesn't come from the Crystal Empire afterall. I'm kinda glad in a way; if the writers don't simply exile Cadance to some dead-end location to rule over, it'll still give her character the chance to be developed beyond just the standard 'pretty princess' stuff..... I hope.
  9. Seeing this is a MLP forum, I was pondering if there are bronies out there who collect Beanie Babies? While I'm not a collector myself, my family "inherited" several boxes filled with Beanies several years ago, and now we're trying to sell them all... at least, try to sell the ones my mom doesn't keep for herself (ironic fact: she favors horse beanies). A few of them kinda look cool even to me, which is something I can't say with the official MLP toys. While we've had a couple of incidents regarding obsessive quality standands among buyers (we mark our products as "like-new but used"), overall things are running smoothly. So, what does everyone else think about Beanie Babies? Does someone have a particular favorite they like?
  10. Roleplay Type: World of Equestria RP – Tier 3 Name: Ingrid Marie Sex: Female Age: Mare (middle-aged) Species: Unicorn Coat Color: Light gray Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane and tail are dark gray, with faint gray highlights running from front to back. Both the mane and tail are cut short. Eye Color: Blue Cutie Mark: A shining red apple. Physique: Her size is average for a mare her age, but has slightly more natural muscle strength than the average unicorn due to her earth pony heritage. Origin/Residence: Spent her early foalhood on a farm in the Solstice Heights, but currently resides in Canterlot. Occupation: Guidance counselor for Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. Motivation: To ensure that everypony attending Celestia’s school achieves academic, career and social success. Likes: The School’s student body, tutoring, country life, gardening, hiking & camping Dislikes: Serving on entrance exam panels, directionless students, ponies with elitist & populist attitudes, cacti & agaves Character Summary: Ingrid Marie is in many ways a seldom seen combination of two different worlds. Her mother, an earth pony, traced her descent from one of Pokey Oaks’s brothers, while her unicorn father was the estranged son of a prominent Canterlot businessmare. Living on her family’s apple orchard in the Solstice Heights for the first few years of her life, Ingrid’s loving parents freely encouraged their daughter to use her unicorn powers to help out on the farm. And use her magic the young Ingrid Marie did. The unicorn filly discovered that she had an affinity for “connecting” with plants, allowing her to figure out the specific needs of her family’s apple trees in order to bear the best fruit possible. Neighboring farmers didn’t think too highly of Ingrid’s ability at first, given the assumption that natural earth pony instincts could accomplish the same thing without fancy-schmancy horn magic. Ingrid did not let the naysayers get to her however, so the filly submitted apples she nurtured into a fruit-tasting competition in Canterlot. She won a respectable seventh place for her efforts, surprising given she was both a foal and a unicorn up against dozens of other local farmers. Proud of getting such an award, Ingrid Marie found herself rewarded with a shining red apple as her cutie mark that day. Convinced that their daughter could do much more with her powers than work on a farm, Ingrid Marie’s enrolled her in Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. While Ingrid herself was among the lower half of students as far as magical aptitude was concerned, her instructors took great interest in how she frequently helped other students develop their abilities to great success. Based on the recommendation of her guidance counselor, Ingrid chose to pursue a degree in education at Canterlot University after graduating from the School. The young mare paid her way through university working as a freelance magic tutor for foals attending Magic Kindergarten, and after many hard years earned her Ph.D. Unfortunately, these formative years also saw Ingrid Marie losing her connection with her family and their way of life. Letting friendly jabs at her way of speaking get to her during her time at Celestia’s School, Ingrid purged herself of her country accent as a means to fit in. As a college student, Ingrid’s busier schedule kept her from visiting her parents often except for about two-to-three times a year. Yet it was Ingrid’s first professional job after graduating from college which completed the process of disconnecting herself almost entirely from her roots; a position as a magic instructor at Neighton Preparatory Academy. A prestigious secondary school located in Canterlot with astronomically-high enrollment fees, Neighton Prep mainly serves to educate the children of many of the richest and most influential families in Equestria (those families that don’t rely on private tutors, that is). Ingrid's job at Neighton was a tough one; not only was she expected to teach the young nobleponies advanced magic spells regardless of their actual affinity, but also faced incessant scrutiny from their powerful parents who demanded only the best education possible. Instructors at Neighton like Ingrid were also expected to attend numerous high-society functions as part of their official duties of promoting the Academy. Even though the job's stressful workload kept Ingrid from keeping in touch with her mom and dad, it paid very well. Concerned, Ingrid's parents tried to convince their daughter to find a less soul-crushing place of employment; she had none of it though, and instead cut herself off from her family out of spite. Ingrid Marie’s tenure at Neighton only lasted for a few brief-but-miserable years; her old guidance counselor from Celestia’s School did not forget about her, and upon retirement, hoofpicked Ingrid to be the next counselor. For Ingrid, being the school counselor was… and continues to be, a dream come true even if she makes much less money than at Neighton. The counselor loves nothing more than helping students refine their magical talents, seeking out educational and career opportunities for students and to assist those with difficulties in maintaining friendships with their classmates. If there is one part of the job that fustrates Counselor Marie to no end, it would be proctoring student entrance examinations; absolutely too many unicorn parents attempt to enroll their foals without bothering to ascertain if they are actually gifted in magical aptitude or not. The most notorious incident involving such a “questionably-gifted” applicant was Twilight Sparkle, a blankflank who apparently convinced herself that it was her destiny to become a great magician. Adding to the situation’s absurdity, Princess Celestia herself made an extremely-rare last-minute change to the filly’s examination, ordering that a standard assessment test be replaced with the much more difficult task of hatching a dragon egg. Just as Counselor Marie and her fellow proctors expected, Twilight’s examination started poorly as the blankflanked filly utterly failed to hatch the egg. Just as Counselor Marie and the other proctors were ready to officially reject Twilight, a mysterious sonic rainboom occurred and provoked the filly to unleash the full extent of her powers. Among other things, Twilight’s outburst caused Ingrid to hover helplessly in the air and turned Twilight’s parents into a cactus and an agave. Fortunately, Princess Celestia arrived in time to bring the filly back under control and to take on Twilight as her personal student. Counselor Marie has total confidence in the Princess's ability to tutor the young prodigy; nonetheless, the counselor believes to this day that Twilight requires the assistance of all the School's resources to best control and harness her powers. Now that many long years have passed since burning her bridges to the past, Ingrid Marie has finally begun to question the point of hiding her country roots. Ingrid is still very reluctant to face her mom and dad again, but she has considered getting herself acquainted with her distant Apple family relatives, whom she never got a chance to know well even in her foalhood (her relatives on her father’s side pretend that he and his family don’t exist, as they never approved of her dad’s choices in life). While Counselor Marie has no intention of ditching her beloved job to spend the rest of her life back in the countryside, she has taken up gardening and outdoor excursions as hobbies to help her reconnect with nature and to sharpen her special magic abilities, which she hadn't had a real need for since foalhood. Just don’t show Ingrid any cacti or agaves at all; they bring back unpleasant memories of the Twilight Incident…..
  11. I'm still wondering if they'll ever give the second Edgeworth game a US release....
  12. Confessions, confessions....... When I first signed up on the forums, I couldn't decide between Twilight, Rainbow, and Pinkie for best pony. Nowadays, I firmly believe that Twi is best pony. Also when I first signed up, I wasn't sure if I would actually enjoying RPing, seeing that I've done so little of it in the past. I've since decided the RPing is... fun Related to the first confession, the only shipping material I care about at all involves Twilight. I make every effort to hide from people I know in real-life my connection to the MLP fandom.
  13. Is it just me, or does this ad for the MLP comic make you want to shout "The End Is Neigh"?
  14. I'm sure it's just a temporary thing for some special Crystal Empire function or something. I don't think AJ could live very long without wearing her hat.
  15. Upcoming DVD cover incoming: I suppose we can expect at least a two-parter in the Crystal Empire, eh?
  16. Dr. Spin Tale was glad that his meeting with Princess Mi Amore Cadenza was going smoothly so far. As the princess talked about the outcome of the CRPR Open House, the curator gave another quick look at the slender blue gentlecolt he still didn't recognize. Of course, there was always a good chance that the unknown unicorn would be receptive to Dr. Tale's pitch to visit his museum (and leave behind a generous donation)... at least more so than the infamous Prince Blueblood, at any rate. Maybe Princess Cadenza could introduce the doctor to the unicorn noble? It didn't take long for Cadenza to rummage through her saddlebag and produce a CRPR pamphlet, which Spin Tale took in his hoof. The princess then spoke again; "Here you go! Did you have any particular questions for the CRPR? We're always open to feedback, and I'd love to know what you think or what we could do better." Dr. Tale reasoned that now was as good a time as ever to ask about the noble. "Actually Princess Cadenza," the earth pony began, twisting his head towards the regal blue-coated unicorn; "I was wondering who the gentlecolt over..." Apparently, something else caught Cadenza's attention as she suddenly smiled and inquired; "Is that your friend back there?" Confused, Spin Tale turned behind him to gaze upon a bronze earth pony filly, who by the look of things, seemed rather intimidated seeing all the commotion in the fudge shop. Judging by the goggles she wore, she must have had a physically-demanding occupation too. Trying to contain his bemusement for the sake of maintaining politeness, Spin Tale replied to the princess's question; "I've never seen her before, to be honest. Canterlot is such a large place as it is". However, Dr. Tale now started to feel some pity for the apparently shy filly; socializing had always come relatively easy for the doctor, being a natural storyteller and all. It was always a shame then to Dr. Tale when a pony chose to distance themselves from others (never mind how he'd been recently distancing himself from many of his own friends, but that was a completely different issue). Unsure of what to do next, Dr. Tale asked the princess; "Well ma'am, I suppose it wouldn't hurt for us to greet her... right?" At the very least, this filly could be a potential visitor to the museum too.....
  17. I don't really know if I could identify a moment that I would consider great. I suppose getting my history degree would come the closest, but even then, I was mostly glad that all that 4-year junk was over with rather than proud. I also highly value the times I've been able to take school trips to Washington D.C., France, Italy, and the UK.
  18. No pressure at all, LM. Real life issues should always take precendence.
  19. If Spin Tale's mind wasn't rushing a thousand miles per hour before, it sure was now as Nurse Redheart softly lifted his hoof with her own. Keeping his gaze mostly fixed on the nurse's inquiring eyes, Dr. Tale wondered just what exactly the mare could do about his bruise. The stallion understood that Redheart only wanted to help, but the remaining logic in Spin Tale's brain reminded him that there really was nothing the nurse could possibly do without access to a medical clinic or a first-aid..... That was when it happened; Redheart pecked Spin Tale's bruise with her delicate lips (at least they felt delicate to the stallion) and sent a jolt throughout his entire body. For a few brief seconds, the doctor froze in place with his eyes widened in shock and his mouth wide open. Dr. Tale head drew a complete blank in that timespan, save for the fact that a lovely mare he didn't even know just kissed his hoof! All too soon though, reality came crashing back and the stallion noticed that a now awkward-looking Redheart had backed away from him. "I...I...I'm so sorry," she stammered; "I didn't mean to do that...it sort of just happened....does your hoof at least feel better?" Not wishing to leave the mare distressed, Spin Tale mustered a stoic look as he pranced on the sidewalk to test his right forehoof. However, the doctor's look quickly reverted back to one of amazement as he sensed... absolutely no pain at all! Dr. Tale couldn't believe it! How the heck could a mere kiss have the ability to get rid of pain? Was it a special kind of earth pony magic, perhaps? Or maybe it was a trick caused by a quirk of pony biology? No matter; now was not the time to ponder such questions! Smiling in merriment, Spin Tale knew he had to thank Nurse Redheart right there and then; "My hoof... it feels... IT FEELS GREAT! No need to apologize to me at all!" Dr. Tale pranced for a couple more moments, not caring if anypony stared at his antics or not. Once he settled down, the stallion walked his way close to Redheart again, glad he no longer had to limp around Canterlot, and looked right into the nurse's eyes. "That kiss did wonders, Miss Redheart," Dr. Tale uttered before sighing in contentment; "I'm... I'm not sure how to repay you". The doctor had always believed that if anypony did a good deed for him, it was his duty to repay him or her in full... and Spin Tale was sure as Tartarus that he'd repay the lovely Nurse Redheart somehow.
  20. I honestly can't remember the first video game I've ever played, but I do know it was either a Nintendo or Super Nintendo game.
  21. Awww...... it's always nice to hear every once in a while how the target demographic reacts to FiM. It's kinda a pity however that by the time they become of age to use the Internet, our fandom might very well have shrunk down considerably. Either that, or they have moved on from the show (stuff like this happens with any show's audience, though),
  22. "Excuse me, excuse me." Spin Tale (pardon the pun) spun his head around to see a white-coated mare trot from the middle of the street in his direction. Wondering why the earth pony mare wanted his attention, the stallion turned around completely so that his head wouldn't be twisted trying to look at the pony coming his way. "Your leg, I'm sorry....Where are my manners?" The mare now stood close enough that Dr. Tale noticed her blue eyes, which he deemed further revealed her concern over his right forehoof. The doctor gave the mare a friendly chuckle; it looked like the jig was finally up after trying to disguise his limp all day. After giving an apologetic bow, the white-coated mare stared back into his eyes and continued speaking; "My name is Redheart and I am a nurse with the Ponyvile hospital...... but I noticed that you seem to be favoring this hoof a bit, may I take a look at it?" "Uhh, sure..." replied a slightly bewildered but grateful Spin Tale. He mentally commented that it was obviously in a nurse's nature like Redheart to spot scrapes and to make them feel better for ponies. However, the fact that Redheart was taking the effort to help out an injured pony even when off-duty and out-of-town led Dr. Tale to suspect that the mare had a more caring heart than your run-of-the-mill caretaker. The doctor couldn't help but give a warm smile as he lifted his bruised hoof so Redheart could have a clearer look at it. Noticing her eyes looking back and forth between his hoof and his face, Dr. Tale started to think that the nurse's eyes actually looked quite lovely. As the wind came and briefly tossed Redheart's mane in the air, Spin Tale decided that yes, the nurse from Ponyville was especially pretty. His thoughts now almost entirely dwelling on the nurse in front of him, Spin Tale felt the need to properly introduce himself to Redheart. "Oh by the way, my name's Spindoctor... err... Dr. Spin Tale." The stallion formed an abashed smile after his silly slipup; hopefully, the "Spindoctor" gaffe would not haunt him forever. Not one to let potential embarrassments bring him down though, Dr. Tale pressed onwards; "I'm a historical museum curator". Spin Tale paused for a moment, figuring that just this once, he wouldn't bother elaborating further on the Canterlot Army Historical Society... at least not until the snow white mare was finished with his bruised forehoof. "So Miss Redheart, what can you do for my hoof?"
  23. That was the only thing I didn't like; Derpy should never have been connected with the death of AJ's parents. Now, this will cast a dark shadow on all the innocent accidents caused by Derpy throughout the entire series. How can I look foward to seeing her cameos now when I know her actions can result in somepony's death?
