  1. I'm not sure what to do now with Silver Flash ... do I write it as Pathfinder, Snowfall, and Radiant Chord just snubbing her and completely ignoring her? That would make the autograph signing and QA periods later rather interesting... Also not sure what to do about there suddenly being badges again ... we were just starting to react to there being a long line ... when suddenly there was no line, which was rather unexpected ... and we were just starting to react to there *not* being badges ... which was rather unexpected ... and now ... there are badges again ... which was rather unexpected. We're not exactly getting much of a chance to RP, here - we just have to keep responding to SteelEagle's erratic changes in the scene.
  2. Purple Haze watched the show with interest - she'd never really *seen* a Wonderbolts show before, and she could see why her big brae liked them so much. It was interesting! Not as much as everypony made it out to be, but ... really, she was more worried about Apple Bloom. She pulled out her saddlebags, where she had a nice cool bottle of juice and her lunch for the day. She laid the cool bottle against Apple Bloom's forehead as the filly slept, worried about her. She wished she had some ice... But as Apple Bloom woke up again, she smiled gently to Apple Bloom, and offered her the bottle. "It's th' juice ye liked roit enough when ye came over th' other day. Lots a' good vitamins an' stuff in there! Ye'll get better roit quick with a good dose a that every day!" She smiled hopefully to Apple Bloom, trying to cheer her up. And the smile brightened a little, too, as a truly inspirational idea hit. All those ponies watching Wonderbolt shows... why, they weren't going anywhere, and they had to get thirsty, and hungry, right? She wondered if she could figure out some way of bottling a whole lot of her special juice, and some snacks ... it wouldn't be any trouble getting Carrot Fields to want to go to a show, that was for sure... she bet she could make quite a few bits selling snacks at a Wonderbolts show! Wouldn't her family be proud of her, then?!
  3. Dash swapped off between glancing nervously and impatiently to the front of the line, then turning back to talk excitedly about Daring Do trivia with the others. She especially liked chatting with Carrot - he was around her own age, and he didn't seem to be trying to tease her. It was a bit hard to fight through that thick accent, though - worse than AJ's! But she focused hard to try to understand what he was saying. She figured she probably got at least two thirds of his comments. As they neared the front, Rainbow Dash got more and more excited. But the sign raising up ... that smile froze on her face... became hollow as her pupils shrank... then her smile dropped to a horrified expression. She stared up at the 'sold out' sign, raising her forehooves in silent supplication. It couldn't be. It just couldn't be. Why? "I ... I ... NO!" she cried. Tears of frustration stood in the corner of her eyes. "Nooo-oooo-ho-ooooo!" She cried dramatically. "It's not FAIR! It's just not FAIR! Why does this keep happening to me?!" ===== ===== ===== ===== ===== Silver Flash flew in from the sky, landing lightly at the front gates. Her white pelt was finely groomed, but her gorgeous blue mane had been chopped a bit shorter in preparation for her role. It looked *quite* strange in the mirror - not to be done up all glamorous. She already had a special pass hanging round her neck - after all, her big secret announcement meant she had one of the more major parts of this covention - and yet, it amused her to think - none of these congoers were likely to even recognize her! She severely doubted any of them were in any way interested in the high-class romance plays she normally performed in. Of course, that was a drawback, too. Would they believe she could even play the part of Daring Do in a major Manehattan production, in the Fainting Daisy roles she had gotten a reputation for? Not that Fainting Daisy was a bad director - he just had a certain style that she didn't want to be typecast as. Once they found out who she was, of course - and knowing how a fanbase could be, she had no doubt that somepony would do the research on her. Then she spotted someone she thought might very well recognize her! Radiant Chord had been at several of the same parties as she, and while Radiant was far more famous than Silver Flash ... they had talked a few times. Maybe she'd recognize her. And she was hanging out with a pair in the most amazing costumes! She hoped that Princess Veil had nearly as good of a costume as that in the stage production! Then she saw how Princess Veil and Daring Do acted towards each other, and a faint flush touched her cheeks. Oh, they were some of *those* kinds of shipping fans. She'd heard that Veildo shippers were rather common. Even as such, it'd be a good time to start building some goodwill, even if they'd have no idea who she was. She stepped up with a bright smile. "Well, good morning!" she said happily. "I wish I had my camera with me, because these certainly must be the finest costumes here!" Except ... the Daring Do costumer had almost instantly disappeared! She laughed, and watched the display, right out of one of Daring Do's books. "Goodness, she certainly has Daring Do's moves ... though not Dare's cool reserve."
  4. Sold out?! SOLD OUT?! How is it even possible?! *holds out hooves in silent supplication* WHYYYYY, SteelEagle? Why do you torture Dash this way?
  5. Rainbow Dash jumped in surprise at the voice behind her, turning quickly to face Carrot. He looked vaguely familiar, like she'd met him somewhere before. "Uh ... right, um, thanks!" she said, hesitantly, then grinned. "I mean, yeah! I had a friend's help, but it's an awesome costume! And of course, I fit it quite well!" She struck a pose, a broad grin on her face. Then it clicked. "Oh, hey! You're that stallion! With the package! Did you ever find the post office? I mean, ha-ha! Course ya did. So what are you doing here?" Then another, and another of the ponies around her started chatting. One was a little foal wearing a really floppy and silly looking costume ... like.. a ... dog? Yeah, that's it! That fez! He must be Zala! "Sure do, Zala! I'm looking forward to it, too!" But the pony before her in line suddenly turned and started talking to her, too. Golly, they sure were friendly here at the con! Were eggheads always this talky? She always pictured them as being ... well ... non ... talky. Except for the big words, she supposed. But weren't they supposed to be all awkward and stuff? No, wait, what had he said? "What? They couldn't, could they? Run out of room?" This was the annual cider sale all over again! Her heart leapt up into her throat. She leaned to the side and peered past the other pony, up along the long, long line. "Not again! I just *gotta* get into this con!"
  6. Bramble smiled as he listened to the two, though Ornatia's pain struck to his heart. "I quite understand. I have quite a few pains in my past, as well, which I would not care to dredge up for near strangers. Or revisit." Oh, and some were in a very not-distant past... while you were there ... "But if you would allow a somewhat forward suggestion, perhaps you could take a carriage tour of the city? It would be controlled, and you would be able to see the city yourself, but at the same time, you'd be kept separate from the mass of ponies out there, watching through the window of the carriage. Amongst them, but still safe, as it were. But of course, only you know your own abilities and comfort levels, so if it is a foalish suggestion, please do ignore it."
  7. Sweetie Belle pranced eagerly in place as Bumpkin gave them instructions for feeding the chicks, and moved to the sack to get her half-cup of feed, eager to see if she could do it as well as that! She hopped her lil' front hooves up onto the sack, and dipped the scoop into the feed carefully ... and then felt the sack start to shift under her. Oh no! It was tipping over under her weight! Oh, oh no, it was going to be another mess! Hurriedly, she zipped around to the other side, and tried to push it upright, and succeeded... but then it started to tip over in the other direction! Back and forth, back and forth, she raced to keep the sack upright ... and finally, finally succeeded. She let out a sigh of relief... And then Timid ran right through her feed sack, bursting it open and scattering its feed everywhere. A cloud of chicken feed blew over her, leaving her blinking out through a brown coating, before a blur of movement left the little filly covered in a solid yellow fluffy layer of baby chicks. "oh, COME ON!" she cried in exasperation!
  8. Bramble flushed, as Roseluck lightly touched his cheek. "Oh, no, I'm Rose. I mean, I'm fine. But I'm also Rose. Bramble Rose, that is, that's my name. And I grow roses too! You've done a fine job here, a really fine job." He smiled and stepped into her garden, his hooves falling very carefully as he worked his way amongst the bushes, dipping his head to give a soft sniff here and there. "I'll let you deal with your customers first, then we can talk." He gave a bright smile to Roseluck.
  9. Doctor Whooves pretty much ignored the explosion - explosions were somewhat standard ocurrances around him - but instead, focused on the now-glowing part that shoved itself into place in the interchange. He swiftly worked to fasten it in place, spitting out the foul blue liquid that kept dripping free, till finally the leak was sealed and all was ready. "Ah, good!" he cried, "just what I needed! And from the sound of things, all is ready?" He wriggled out from under the cart and got to his hooves, giving himself a shake to send the blue liquid flying. "Right, then! Sounds like we're all ready! Trixie, remember that Lyra isn't used to as much power as you throw around all the time, much less tapping a ley line. You'll need to reassure and encourage her. You're just taking down a mountainside, it's no big deal. I'll take care of Mal, so don't worry about her. Oh, and if they feel the ley line being diverted, those clockwork might outstep their normal operating range, but if they show up, don't get distracted - just focus on the task at hand." With that, he turned away from Trixie and trotted over to Malediction. He looked over the tree with a critical eye, then turned that bright and eager gaze back to the unicorn. "Well, well. Not bad. Knew you had it in you. You ready to protect that foal with all you've got?"
  10. A big, eager grin spread even wider across Sweetie Belle's face as she heard that the gorgeous prince was single. "Wellllll," she said, rubbing one lil' hoof across the floor, "Maybe you'll run into a nice special somepony while you're here in Ponyville." She cleared her throat. The voice behind her made her jump. Somepony else had slipped *right* past her while she was attending the Prince! "OH! Um," she gave a little curtsey. "But of course, you are busy, and I won't keep you any longer. Good day, your Highness!" Then she turned quickly to Starburst, giving a little smile. "Ah! Yes, the Fabulista is busy just now," said the little white filly, slipping around in front of Starburst. "If you would like to wait, I can provide a snack while you wait! Or, if you want to come back, I can arrange an appointment for you, but I believe that it shouldn't be more than a couple minutes!"
  11. Rainbow Dash was so eager for this! Her very first Daring Do Convention! She had no idea what to expect, but Daring Do was so awesome, surely this convention would be awesome, too! And Rainbow Dash was going to wow them all! She'd had the awesome idea to dress up as Daring Do, herself! Course, she wasn't so good at such things ... but Rarity was, and she'd made Dash a totally cool and really accurate version of Daring Do's outfit! A spiffy pith helmet, a olive green shirt, and she was ready to go! This was going to be great, everypony was going to be so impressed! She winged in over the convention, late as usual, but only a little late, did a loop-de-loop just to burn off a bit of excess energy, and came to a light landing in front of the new convention center. There were a lot of foals around, but also several adults, but ... wow. That was ... a LOT of Daring Do costumes! Even some colts were wearing Daring Do costumes. And more than that - there were outfits of everyone! Some of Little Circles, Daring's short-lived sidekick, and a whole bunch of outfits of the various villains. there was a group of islanders over there, and even one pony dressed up in a big, floppy, baggy blue costume with a hand on the tail that she guessed was supposed to be Ahuitzotl. Her really awesome outfit suddenly felt a lot less awesome. Heck, some of the mares here had even dyed their mane and coat to look exactly like Daring Do! Ah well. She'd still have fun! She doubted any of the con-goers here had nearly as many adventures as Dash had! All that was left was to get tickets. "Are you in line?" She was directed back further... "Are you in line?" She went... a rather disturbing distance further back. "Are you ... is this... where's the end of the line?" Finally reaching the rear, she leaned over and looked faaaaar up towards the ticket counter. Uh-oh. This was starting to feel familiar... they couldn't run out of tickets ... right?
  12. Doctor Whooves led Celestia deeper and deeper down the winding staircase, the light from his small lantern flickering off the ancient stone walls. The cobwebs grew thicker and thicker, as they descended, but they had no time to be delicate about such things - Doctor Whooves powered through, though they started giving some serious resistance. He was draped with wisping tendrils of web by the time they reached the bottom, but his eyes were bright as he gripped his screwdriver tightly with his teeth. The door at the bottom was locked, but it took only a second for Doctor Whooves to wriggle the screwdriver in the keyhole enough to unlock the door. "There," he whispered softly. "So they should be on the other side of here - the queen, and the missing unicorn guards. They'll probably be kept close to her so she can feed - if I remember correctly, she gets a bit bigger than the rest, and can't move very well ..." He grinned to Celestia. "So it should be pretty easy to get the hop on her, aye? Just gotta wait for Luna's dist-" He was cut off, suddenly, by a horrible shriek on the far side of the door, quiet rasping from a thousand tiny throats all raised at once. "I think that'd be it, innit?" He grinned happily. "Right, then! Allon-SY!" He set his shoulder and barged through the door, ready to charge to the center of the chamber. "Now, where's that ..." He paused, and his eyes widened, raising his head to look up at the five-foot-tall fluffy green ball with far, far too many legs squatting in the center of the stone room. "... queen ..." Webs surrounded the area, thick webs in which guards were wrapped in tight coccoons, their horns sticking out. They weren't as many as Doctor Whooves had thought ... was there another batch elsewhere? No, wait, focus on the queen. The giant... massive... bigger than he was ... queen. "Well ... um ... can't just step on that, then ..." he said, staring up at her as her red eyes turned upon them as well.
  13. Purple Haze gave a big, bashful grin as everyone complimented her juice, giving a happy lil' wiggle. Wait ... almost as good as apple juice! This was *better* than apple juice! But she supposed the apple family was due their little quirks. Of course they'd have to say that apple juice was better, it'd be a matter of family pride. She looked after her big brae and Applejack with a confused look, tapping at her chin with her hoof. She glanced over at Apple Bloom. "What're they haverin' on about, then?" she asks curiously. "Oi swear, sometimes Oi dinnae unnerstand a whit of what they're on, roit?" She sighs and shakes her head, and then starts setting out the individual bowls for the lettuce, looking up to Big Mac. "An do ye loik it, then? Oh! And ye're tae tell me yer story, too! Oi'm lookin' nigh tae it!" She gave a big, winning grin, and moved to refill Apple Bloom's and Big Mac's glasses.
  14. Purple Haze smiled brightly at Dawn's words, feeling great relief. She wanted her dishes to be perfect! "Oh, wonderful! I mean, not wonderful! That's bad! But I know just the thing to help, but I'm glad you like the chimicarrotchangas!" Her words hurried over each other, stumbling to get out of her mouth, and then she headed off swiftly towards the kitchen. "Thank you, Dawn!" She smiled brightly back at him. "I'll be right back, promise!" She hurried into the kitchen, and started mixing up her birch-bark and carrot brew - a bit bitter, but add a touch of sugar, and it should be acceptable. And Carrot sounded like he was happy making small talk, which was rather unlike him, but she was glad he was opening up to Dawn!
  15. Well, if my new OC gets approved, there's definitely going to be a major event at the convention!

Character Summary: Silver Flash grew up in Cloudsdale. In middle school, she started winning races - a bright, rising star who seemed like she was going places. It was after her first race won, standing up in front of the cheering crowd, that she got her cutie mark, and knew it meant she liked the attention, the feeling of being a hero. In High School, while everypony else kept getting faster, she seemed to have hit her limit. No matter how hard she trained, she couldn't keep pace, and her once bright career started going down. But, she found a new love, at the same time. She joined theater, and in the stories, she found that feeling of being a hero. In standing before the crowd, she felt that exilerating rush like being in the winner's circle of the race. She wasn't a sports star - but on the stage, she could play one. She could play the lover, the saint, the caring nurse, the faithful watch. That's what she played all through high school - but as she burst into the theater, her beauty made her a natural romantic, a gorgeous love interest. Not her chosen role, she has played beauty queens and damsels, and found herself crooning on stage before swooning audiences. Now, though - now, she finally has her chance. Daring Do is being brought to the stage, from book to the theatre - and she has been chosen to play the lead role. Finally, she gets to be the hero! She is Daring Do! She just hopes to live up to the expectations of the fans.
  17. Silk Scarf smiled happily as Max agreed with her. "Oh, I quite agree. I absolutely love to dance!" But as the two stallions glanced at each other with that 'time to do business' look in their eyes, she shook her head. "Oh, goodness no, I'd never want to get in the way of a good bit of business. You two darlings have fun, and I'll go see what lovely little treats they've put together for the snack bar, and then perhaps take a nice walk along the beach. The ocean's supposed to be lovely with the moon shining over it." She gave a delicate little curtsy towards Max, looking up to him through her lashes as she gave a bright smile. "It was an absolute pleasure to meet you, Max!" she said happily. "And I hope we run into each other again very soon!" And well past time to get away from this confusing mess, she though to herself, and get a bit of fresh air! She didn't know how all these ponies could handle it, it all seemed quite overwhelming to her.
  18. Rainbow Dash nodded, with a grin. "Cool, that's a plan, then! Just gotta get things rolling, y'know, time's of the essence and all that! I'll be back as soon as I can! You know I wouldn't let you down!" She tapped her forehoof to her forehead briefly, and then was out of the door, leaving a streak of Rainbow behind her as she headed off towards the main marketplace.
  19. Doctor Whooves blinked in surprise at Trixie's startled exclamations. Was this real, or were the grapes too sour? Always so hard to tell - that's part of what made relationships such a pain in the tail. Well, till he got an indication otherwise, he'd take her at face value! His face opened up in a broad grin and he gave an exhalation of satisfaction. "Ah, well, that's a relief!" he confirmed. "That could've been quite a mess, couldn't it?" He gave a soft huffing chuckle of amusement, then lets out another exhalation, "hooooooo ... you had me worried there, for a sec! I could have *sworn* I was going to have you falling for me there." He laughs softly. "I must have been seeing things!" He gave her a comradely clap on the shoulder as she hurried up to step past him. "Imagine what a disaster that would have been!" It was always good to share these moments of understanding with each other, but he never liked to dwell on shared misunderstandings too much, so he quickly went to change the subject. "So, what do you think of our two companions back there? Good thing they were along. Man, that resonance trick of Lyra's is just incredibly useful. When I think of all the times I could have used that in my adventures ... and Mal's fire! A fire that burns wood and metal but freezes water? Now that's a neat trick! Wonder how the equations look on *that* bit of magic ... " He trailed off, musing, mumbling quiet mystic words to himself as he ran over the theoretical structures in his head. "Now if you inverted the pyratheurgical matrix in relation to the target physical state... "
  20. Dash took Tobias round and round the field for a while, following the way where his weaker wing would make him naturally turn that way, anyway. Then she did a deadpony's turn to glide back in the other direction, so that he could practice banking in a rather more difficult direction. She wanted to go faster *so much*, but she couldn't just leave him behind, not injured as he was... so she gritted her teeth and made herself be as patient as she could, only occassionally giving a barrel roll or a loop-de-loop because she just couldn't take the slow pace... Finally, though, she asked, "OK, so ... gliding turns, great! Ready to get some altitude and see if you can keep a straight line?"
  21. She's just determined to do a good job 'helping' Rarity in the shop today! Rarity will be *so surprised* when she finds out she has a new shop assistant! And so happy when Sweetie helps take some of the work off of Rarity's shoulders!
  22. ( purple unicorn, actually ) "My name is Dazzle Dreams" said the lovely mare who had arrived, and Bramble instantly responded by doffing his hat, then taking her hoof and giving it a light kiss, politely. "It certainly is," he said, giving a smile up to the dazzling mare. Oh, ponyfeathers! why was all this corny dialog slipping out? They were going to think he was an idiot! "That is, it suits you. I, um ... " blast it, Bramble, change subject! "Bramble Rose, at your service, my dear, and if this is your home town, well, by all means, you should take over the description! We were just sharing stories of our homelands, and Ornatia here was most curious about Manehattan! I myself have only taken a few tourist trips over the city in the past couple days, so I would be eager to hear you talk about this lovely city."
  23. With Apple Bumpkin leaving, Guiding Light being helped by Rarity, and Dusk seeming a little withdrawn, Sweetie Belle was able to give her full attention to the wonderfully handsome Prince Blueblood once more. She smiled up to him eagerly, little hearts floating up above her head, as she gave him a nod and said, "Oh, thank you, your highness! I try really hard to act proper like my big sister Rarity! I'll place your time at eleven, then, and make certain that there is a light snack waiting to tide you over in case you are late for your lunch!" She carefull scrawled 'Prince', '11', and doodled a little snack cake in her notebook, her eyes narrowing in concentration as she did so. Then she was done, and smiled up to the Prince warmly again. "So, is ... there a very special somepony who you'll need to be coordinating your outfit with, then?" she asked, very casually, leaning forward with her eyes sparkling.
  24. Oh my gosh, it turned out *so cute!* She looks so determined! *^_^* Look out for that spool of ribbon, Sweetie Belle! Thank you, thank you, thank you! *^_^* Thank you so much!
