MyLittlePonyTales
Hey all! So, I was thinking of going as Gypsy Pinkie Pie for Halloween. But I need help locating the items for the cosplay! I am taking suggestions on what you think would go well with the outfit, as well as suggestions for places to purchase the items I need.Hair - Wig, of course. Need help finding a good place to get a good quality Pinkie Pie style wig.Ears - Not to heavy, but durable and good looking.Earrings - Dangly ones, of course, perhaps in a moon shape.Shirt - I don't know what to do for this yet.Pants - I was thinking a belly dancer type skirt, with the bangles and things.Tail - Either a good place to buy a tail, or a wig that would work suitably.Accessories - Tambourine, purple scarf with gold edges, Alright, let's do this! I shall provide pictures when the cosplay is finished.
SonicRainboomGirl
GimmCat on Etsy is notorious for great prices, beautiful wigs, and ears that sustain. A close friend bought a wig of hers last halloween, to cosplay as Twilight Sparkle. Here's her Pinkie Pie wig, it's $95: http://www.etsy.com/...osplay-wig-pinkIf that's too expensive, here's a much cheaper one that could look great with styling: http://www.ebay.com/...&prg=1005&rk=2As for the earrings, that's my specialty! I just may be able to make you some custom ones, if thats of interest to you.
hinata2000100
Pants - I was thinking a belly dancer type skirt, with the bangles and things. My sister has some of those. I can't remember where she got it, though. DX
Ironkau
If that's too expensive, here's a much cheaper one that could look great with styling: http://www.ebay.com/....&prg=1005&rk=2I'd recommend the cheaper one and making the ears out of foam or something. Or maybe even something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fuchsia-Pink-cat-kitty-headband-kawaii-cosplay-kitten-ears-hair-band-costume-/200803683230?pt=US_Hair_Accessories&hash=item2ec0d50b9e#ht_1941wt_1163

FermataTheBasse
I am not craft orientated and will not make anything myself. I will also not style a wig. Kthx. WRRRYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!Well that makes this harder for you. Especially for specific designs like the scarf... Anyways, some thoughts...Here's a belly dancer's scarf: http://www.amazon.com/Handmade-Belly-Dance-Purple-Lively/dp/B003VY9BK2/ref=pd_sim_misc_14, cheap and well reviewed. It's a darkish shade of purple, which is what we want for a pink as pink as Pinkie's pink. http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Cotton-Stretch-Jegging-Leggings/dp/B007PIX20A/ref=sr_1_3?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1346711274&sr=1-3&keywords=pink+jeans These are cotton, which works better for a 'ponyish' feel than denim jeans. I do recommend pants, unless you want to start stacking skirts of different colors. It'll keep the cost down and still be a pretty casual and nice 'Pinkie' look. http://www.amazon.com/Next-Level-Apparel-Comfort-Crewneck/dp/B004OWONCQ/ref=sr_1_63?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1346711672&sr=1-63&keywords=pink+shirt This is a tee, shades essentially the same as the pants. I should explain my thought process with the clothes a bit: rather than going for a full gypsy look, I'm envisioning gypsy 'accessories' on top of more casual clothing. It seems like the way a human Pinkie might wear it. And again, it keeps the cost down. Shirts and pants be cheaper than dresses upon dresses. For the cutie mark, the simplest method would be sticker paper and pngs of Pinkie's cutie mark. Since you're using knits for both shirt and pants, the stickers should be more or less fine as cutie marks. The scarf is going to be difficult if you want to keep it show accurate. I recommend you get it commissioned. And what's your upper budget, may I ask?

MyLittlePonyTales
Ah, you know what? I bet I can but some Pinkie Pie Cutie Marks matches online! Those only require ironing on, so I could put them on some pants easy!
Lux
For a cheap cauldron, I'd but a plastic one from Party City or Spirit Halloween Store. Both have an online presence,.
MyLittlePonyTales
Oh yeah, totally, plastic cauldron should be no problem this time of year.
SonicRainboomGirl
If you have any Spirit Halloweens in your area, or Party Citys, you should be able to find lots of gypsy props. I've been doing some halloween shopping, and it wont be difficult to find the items you needAlso, this belt is pretty freaking cute http://www.buycostumes.com/Gold-Coin-Chain-Adult-Belt/70038/ProductDetail.aspx

MyLittlePonyTales
And what's your upper budget, may I ask?Probably around $200. Although I expect around half of that will go toward the wig/tail. It's not just going to be for Halloween. I'll use it at other con's in the future. MyLittlePonyTales
Here's her Pinkie Pie wig, it's $95: http://www.etsy.com/...osplay-wig-pinkI think it could use more curls, but thanks for the recommendation. I think the Ebay one was too light, and I... wouldn't really trust Ebay for a wig.As for the earrings, that's my specialty! I just may be able to make you some custom ones, if thats of interest to you.Have any examples?I'd recommend the cheaper one and making the ears out of foam or something. Or maybe even something like this: http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_1941wt_1163Heh, those don't look high quality or even like horse ears. Here's a belly dancer's scarf: http://www.amazon.co...=pd_sim_misc_14, cheap and well reviewed. It's a darkish shade of purple, which is what we want for a pink as pink as Pinkie's pink.Yep, pretty close to what I'm looking for.http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Cotton-Stretch-Jegging-Leggings/dp/B007PIX20A/ref=sr_1_3?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1346711274&sr=1-3&keywords=pink+jeans These are cotton, which works better for a 'ponyish' feel than denim jeans. I do recommend pants, unless you want to start stacking skirts of different colors. It'll keep the cost down and still be a pretty casual and nice 'Pinkie' look. Those are awesome! Thanks!
