Manny quickly hopped atop the books she had stacked, though she slipped a couple of times. "I'm right behind you Princess!" she grunted as she pulled herself from the edge of a rather larger book. She may have been slightly taller than average but her longer legs weren't helping her all that much. Still, she tailed after her princess loyally.

Moondust dodged out of the way when the axe was swung at her. Holding fast, she retreated a bit and manifested a large sword made of blinding light. "Every shadow has its weakness. Your weakness has been noted." She said with a snarl. "NOW!" She screamed to the ponies high above, in the fortress above their heads. Clashing with Helios's blade, she got in his face. "You think you're stronger than the light. Well let's prove you wrong." She said, as suddenly books fell all around them, crushing many shadow ponies, and one nicking Moonlight, launching her across the floor, out of range of the sparring ponies. "Bring on the darkness, and I will show you the light." Moondust said, readying her newly made sword.

Helios's axe was sent spinning out of his hoof by a hit from something up high.. Then came the archer's fire. It was an ambush! Shadow ponies left, right, and centre were speared by arrows and sent exploding into the nothingness they came from. Helios watched in horror as almost all of his forces were completely decimated before his eyes. He then turned with anger to Moondust when he noticed her sword of pure light. He tried once more to pull out his blade, but it was still stuck fast in his scabbard. Helios began to panic. Maybe this was a sign to... urk. His entire demeanour suddenly changed as an expression of pure malevolence took over his face.

"You think that I can be beaten by the mere application of light? I am darkness personified! I will swallow up your sickening light and cast us all into an age of shadow!" A voice not quite his own snarled through his mouth. He cast a spell that created a bubble of pure darkness around the two combatants, Moondust's sword being the only source of light. He himself conjured up a greatsword that he had to stand on his rear hooves to wield properly. He then vanished into the shadow, only to emerge form the side with a large swing from his sword.

Moondust ducked to avoid being decapitated by Helios's wild swing from the side, Watching him disappear back into the darkness once more. She looked around, searching for him in the bubble of darkness surrounding the two of them. Light blinds darkness. She withdrew her sword, making it disappear. Refocusing her energy, she transmitted it to her body, making her light up like the sun, contained in this small bubble of darkness, her light poked holes in the bubble, shining outward and catching Helios's weapon and disintegrating it before he got the chance to swing again. Before he had the chance to react, she dove into him, landing on top of him. Putting her hoof on his chest, she blasted all of her light energy into his body, breaking the bubble and sending Moondust and Helios across the room in opposite directions, Leaving Moondust lying still in the light.

Everything happened too fast, Overeasy was unable to react, first Moondust had ran up and demanded a conference to discuss things only beings of their knowledge could understand, like eggs or scrolls, and then the Shadow Army had begun it's invasion, only to be repelled by swarms of boo-err....Bokkington arrows, enchanted arrows made from the magic trees of East Booktica grown by the Mystic Goats. THEN a duel between good and evil had somehow started...

And now, a voice was speaking to her.

"Savant Overeaaaaaasy....."A strange, magical, and squeaky voice echoed throughout the maze of her mind, filling her with it's limitless wisdom and culinary mastery.

No....it couldn't be!

"L-ord Dariona? I-is it really you?"she asked in awe as she was filled with the purest magic of them all....

The Magic of Eggs.

"Yes, dear Diciple dude...."He murmured with fatherly might, each word a new spell poured into her mind,"The battle between Light and Darkness...must not any further...it is time for the power of Eggs to do what it was always meant for...we must keep balence..." His silent instruction was understood by Overeasy, if there was one thing she could do, it was egg-related.

"You got it! God-Dude!" She roared as the power of balance settled within her, invigorating her every movement with power as she began sprinting towards Moondust, she may owe her one, but she had her duty as the newly assigned Egg-Savant!

But, before she could do something awesome, or anything for that matter...the fight was over and both sides were blasted to different walls of bookinite.

"Well...that's really disappointing." Overeasy sighed as the power ebbed away with disuse...what the heck would she do now? She spent like...5 minutes powering up and conversing with her Lord! Aw well..she guessed she would just...go check on the King or something, she still served him right? Besides, Stardust DID seem a bit sketchy, despite her help, and her brother always said to say away from "mysterious dudes with twirly mustaches."

Thus, she ran over to the totally not mysterious or evil Well-Heeled, poking him lightly with her fore-hoof to ensure he was alright, because that was effective.

(Fixed it, I should really read more closely when using a phone..,..)

(Heh,sorry, been busy lately, should be more active now though! And seeing as to how there is an epic battle going on....seriously though, if this is in anyway out of line please tell me.)

(Battle's already over dude. Moondust is already on the floor, and I have no idea what Helios is doing. Being hit with pure energy, somethings gonna happen :) )

Helios swung with all of his might, but Moondust spotted him at the last moment, and avoided the vicious blow. He vanished once more into the darkness, when she suddenly put her weapon away. Shadow Helios didn't hesitate to take the chance to charge forwards wildly again, this time straight at her front, when suddenly he staggered back. A powerful light was emanating from Moondust herself. Something inside him shrieked and writhed in pain as his sword dissolved back into nothingness in front of his eyes. Then she tackled him to the ground, and he was in no position to stop her. She slammed her hoof against his chest and all of his shadowy armour was obliterated in an instant, leaving only his fur for protection. As her hoof touched his now naked chest, it glowed an incandescent orange, seemingly as bright as the sun in the sky. The final remnants of his bubble spell erupted outwards, taking a few staggering shadow pony survivors with it as he was flung mane-over-hooves into the wall of the rocky canyon. Then all was silent., bar the extremely light exhalations from Helios himself.

Dawn was fairly disappointed. The epic battle that was to come ended fairly quickly. And all she had done to help was shoot off a few books at her attacker. Moondust had taken care of the rest. Dawn looked at her subjects. They were not even halfway up Bookite Mountain and the climax of the story was over. Time to go down and rebuild what was damaged of Fort Book. And of course take in a few prisoners and make sure Knight Moondust was alright. She spoke to her subjects, disapointment obvious in her voice.

"Hey everypony. Battle's over. We can go home to Fort Book...Rally up our opponents and send them to the moon- I mean to the dungeon. Let us celebrate this victory with a feast in honor of Knight Moondust and her accomplishment!!"

She shivered slightly at what she said. A princess shouldn't send all her problems to the dungeon, but what ever. And the moon? Could Dawn really even send them there?

Moondust rose from the floor, limping over to the fallen Helios. Reaching down and offering a hoof to help him to his feet, she spoke to him. "Are you clean of the darkness that once tainted you?" She asked, helping him to his feet. "You should reconcile with the princess, the two of you need to speak together." She limped off to Fort Book, sitting in the tattered knights room, looking at the wall of fame. There was a picture of her sister there, clad in armor and wielding a lance. "Thank you for your advice, sister." She said, kneeling to the imaginary painting. She sit down, panting heavily. "Well that was fun." She smiled.

Allanon and his soldiers walk in. Their armor was indeed scratched, but no injury was inflicted.

Allanon holds his broadsword, Narsil, in front of him, and says "Our work here is done. The UNSC will take their leave."

He nods darkly to his men, who call in a Pelican for evac. After watching the Pelican leave, the Spartan walks in the direction of which the Fort was,Narsil in hand. He stops, points the blade at the moon, and shouts a sort of incantation. The blade glows a dark purple, and the Druid vanishes.

Helios grunted awake to a persistent prod in his flank. His eye's slowly creaked open, and he was almost blinded by the invasion of light. Somepony was stood over him. Overeasy? He put a hoof to his forehead to serve the dual purpose of easing his banging head, and blocking out the extra light. Celestia, it was like he was staring at the sun. Another shadow stood next to his trusty egg-mage. Was that Moondust? A hoof was stretched out, so he took it. She helped him climb back to his hooves. "Darkness," he mumbled, before clutching his head again. "My head," he moaned as he stroked it with his hooves again. He eventually nodded. "It's gone, but it left a real mess." He motioned Overeasy to move slightly to the left, so he could support himself a bit better on her.

"The Princess? I don't know. She doesn't seem the forgiving type. Might be best to beat a hasty retreat. Overeasy, if you could just get us out of here. Somehow," he said softly. Up on the precipice he saw the outline of Princess Dawn. They locked eyes for a brief second, and her intent was instantly laid out to bear. He heard the order to take them, but the other ponies seemed to have already left for the fort. There was a small window, but Helios was in no condition to take it by himself. He leant a bit more on Overeasy. "Quickly if you'd please," he added in a strained voice.

Overeasy gave a light hearted grin as she saw her king rise back up, kings weren't meant to be on the ground! She hastily and dutifully moved over to his side so she could support him, it would be embarrassing if he fell down again, seriously! What kind of king did that? Not one he would be if she had anything to say about it! She also spared Moondust an angry glare, it all seemed to come together now...she was a traitor! Turning against the rightful King, the one who had been marked by his cape to lead! Bah, she would deal with her later, apparently King Helious wished to talk to her for a second.

She mostly ignored what he said to Moondust in favour of looking around the arrow-pitted battlefield(book covered floor) for any survivors, it seemed that most, if not all, of the shadow ponies were defeated and the Princess and her entourage were climbing the mountains surrounding them. Not that she minded, the farther away they were, the more time they had to escape!

After a moment, she heard him address her and state it was time to go, it seemed that the victors would be coming down any moment, and she didn't think they would be graceful winners...

Well. time to make like a yoke and split...wait...that didn't make much sense..bah, that didn't matter at the moment!

"Yes my liege! Hop on and we will blow this popsicle stand, man!" She promised and clumsily tossed him onto her back with a quick swerve of of hind-legs and back. She umphed as she felt his weight, gosh he was heavy, fortunately not too heavy for her to carry. And, at a snail's pace, she began carrying him behind a massive Bookinite deposit.(Bookshelf, if you haven't figured it out by now.)

Dawn looked down at Moondust, Helios, and Overeasy, catching the king's eye for a brief moment. The eggnomancer had begun to to assist Helios, behind a bookshelf- err, bookinite deposite along the outskirts of the forest. She couldn't let them escape. Quickly descending from Bookite Mountain, Dawn charged towards the king and his wizard while her horn began to glow brightly.

"King Helios and Overeasy!! You will not escape!! I won't allow it!!"

She teleported with a bright flash and wound up in front of the two and crashed into them, having miscalculated her distance and velocity. She fainted upon impact, having used up every bit of her energy on teleporting such a distance. So much for not letting them escape...

(It's completely cool to keep in, Brony. You haven't missed that much, besides the main fight was a little... focused anyway. Perhaps a quick summary of your actions during that sequence, or just skip that. You too Browneh if you're still there. Things are just a bit hectic at the moment, so just dive headfirst in when you see a spot. Pick a side, and get stuck in!)

Helios was spent. He just felt so weak and drained. He gratefully took Overeasy's offer and flopped over her back like a fish. He felt his eyelids closing again. He needed to rest. To recuperate. Before he got a chance to return to dreamland though, he was once more sent flying through the air like a ragdoll and landed face first onto the ground. Helios tried his best to rise once more, but he just didn't have it in him. He brought his head up and rested his chin against the ground when he spotted the object they had collided with. Princess Dawn, his sworn enemy. He should be burning with rage just to see her, but he felt nothing. Just emptiness. However the tactical side of his brain clocked in. There would be no resistance if there was no Princess, and she had just thrown herself out here. The thought brought a weak smile to his muzzle. However there was no way Overeasy could take both of them, she had struggled enough with Helios. He quickly made up his mind.

"Overeasy," he croaked from the floor. "Take Princess Dawn. She's the key to this. I'll try and meet you where our army grouped together!" he said, slowly gaining strength as he spoke. He pushed one last time against the ground, and managed to stagger to his hooves. "Go! I'll be right behind you," he said in the most obvious lie ever. Seeing that she still staunchly refused to move, Helios tried his best to dredge up his commanding tone that he had been so proud of no less than an hour ago. "That is an order from your king!" He shouted, his voice breaking slightly in the middle. She finally nodded, no doubt with one of her quips, but Helios was having trouble just staying on his hooves. His head was still pounding as if it was being used as a drum for some kind of tribal ceremony.

She vanished into the distance and Helios exhaled deeply and almost fell to the floor, but he somehow stayed standing. The bookite deposit almost obscured him completely from view, so he did the only thing that he felt capable of doing, and pulled himself completely out of view, before succumbing to his fatigue. He fell to his haunches, and propped up against the bookite deposit. He would just take a little breather, then he'd hurry to the rendezvous. He doubted Moonlight still had their back after the possession was over, so it looked like their team may be down to two.

Starbuster snapped back into reality. This battle isn't over yet. She thought to herself, standing back up with some effort. She materialized her sword again, along with a sheath, and flew back towards where the battle took place, Seeing almost everypony gone. Moonlight was there, unconscious from a book, but she was there. Moondust walked over to her, putting light energy into Moonlight's fallen body. She dragged Moonlight back towards Fort Book, placing her in the medical wing. Leaving the area behind, she figured the Princess was out taking the king for execution or exile or something, so she reinforced the walls, putting more and more books to strengthen the walls. She sat in the throne room, awaiting the return of the princess, standing with sword in hoof, ready for anything.

Moonlight woke up in a familiar place. Moonlight was so weak and powerless and she couldnt even see clearly but she was sure about that she was there before. "This place...Where am I...?"-she said to herself as she got up. "What happened?" Shortly Moonlight started to remember. "The Battle! I need to fight!" Moonlight headed out from the medical wing when she realized where she was. "This is Fort Book! No! We lost the battle?!" As she left the medical wing she saw that some place in Fort Book was in ruins. "Or...Did we win? I dont remember...If ww won...My lord will be in the throne room." Moonlight went straight to the throne room but when she opened the door she just saw Moondust who sat there. "Moondust! Im glad to see you! What happened?! The battle?! Did we win?!"-she asked from Moondust as she sat down front of her. "Where is the king Moondust? Where are the others?"

Manny had climbed down from the mountain, but tried not be noticed. She easily snuck around the deposits of bookite before coming upon something interesting. "King Helios. It's been some time, hasn't it?" she asked the fallen not-king, she didn't expect and answer. She hefted his weak and surprisingly light (for her anyway) body and snuck away with her captive.

Stardust had just entered the library, when she noticed a bunch of other foals playing.

Mind if I join your game? the orange pegesus filly asked

Manny noticed the new filly and marched up to her. "Who do you follow? Princess Dawn or this faker here?" Manny questioned as she motioned to her captive.

Helios blearily awoke to find himself moving again. Overeasy must have escorted the prisoner out and then returned! How grand! After a lot of coaxing he managed to get his eyelids to flutter open, and sure enough he saw the gravel moving beneath her hooves. Her non-green hooves. This wasn't Overeasy. He was suddenly acutely aware that the buzzing background noise was actually speech. He recognised one of them with a feeling of dread, Lady Manzanita. One of the staunchest and most unreasonable followers of Princess Dawn. The other though was new, a voice he didn't recognise at all. He managed to just pick up the actual wording at the end of the conversation.

"Why, the princess of course!"

Another pony throwing themselves at the Princess, it was enough to stir up some anger, and in turn, some energy. Nowhere near enough to leap off and charge into the forest, nor enough to take on Manzanita in a battle, but maybe just enough to sway this filly's mind. "Why do you commit yourself so readily to a Princess you've never met, let alone even heard of," he croaked, turning his head to face the orange filly. "The Princess has blinded her followers to her weaknesses, but she needn't blind you. Help me out of here, and I will tell you the true face of the Princess," Helios said weakly.

Not one for confrontation, Stardust was a little nervous in responding

Well, because she is a princess, and princesses are nice. Just look at Princess Celestia, or Princess Luna. However, if you have proof she isn't nice, show me. the filly said curiously
