I don't think I have to explain what Team Fortress 2 is. We're all on the internet. Some of you though may be unfamiliar with the phrase "MVM" and what it implies. And that is "Mann vs Machine". In summary, two rival companies usually sending wave after wave of mercenary at each others throats must come face to face with a sudden third. Rather than hiring contract killers, this third company has instead decided to build an insurmountable hoard of robots, all of them eerie copies of the mercenaries hired. It's apocalyptic almost. A sense of hopelessness and dread when you see just how many enemies are coming after you and your five buddies. And the the giants show up.

For you folks out there who already know this and have your Botkiller weapons, this RP will be taking place before and between waves of combat. There will be battlefield drama, lives on the line and all that wonderful/horrible stuff we like to mix in into the sugar coated world of ponies. Glorious ponies.

I would like to see applications. The standard kind used here. As a bonus, should you feel so inclined, feel free to include a load-out, as well as any silly hats your pony may be wearing! Because, at the end of the day, that's what TF2 is all about. Silly hats.

History:

Reveille grew up strictly under the watchful eye of his father, the proud military stallion, Butterfield. He would wake his boy up at the crack of dawn for drills and training, because peace time was for slackers. All day long he would tell his boy stories from the war, though which war is anyone's guess. There was little time for much, except for the few times dear old Ma would sneak him out for a day at the Carnival, for instance. Reveille humored his old man until, of course, his teen years, where his affinity for his old man's bugle evolved to high class jams on the trumpet. He earned his cutie mark blowing out a tune he heard on the radio, played from ear and with remarkable skill. Though the old man would have none of this hippie music. "I have no son!", he screamed, taking aim at his boy with a Rocket Launcher that hasn't worked in years, if ever. Reveille stormed out, lived on the streets for a while before joining a band and making a name for himself. Then the draft hit, his Ma exclaimed, begging him to come home and talk some sense into his father. Though, Reveille has never once heard of "Mane Co" or "Builder's League United" or why the company was being taken over by robots powered by money. But Pa was getting on in years and certainly couldn't hobble his way onto the battlefield to face the Gray Hoard. Differences aside, he loved his Pa and did what any right minded boy would do: cracked his old man over the head with a cast iron skillet, leaving Ma to tend to the bump on his noggin. He did his best to try and fix the old Rocker Launcher with assorted junk he dug from a dumpster (though to be fair, he probably just made it worse) then stole his father's ID badge and headed out to the Badlands, ready to fight the good fight.

Character Summary: I couldn't resist. This is his summary.

Anyway onward to the character.

Roleplay Type: Mane vs Machine

Name:Sweet Scent

Sex: Female

Age: Mare

Species: Pegasus

Eye colour:

Coat: A soft pink, only barely darker than white.

Mane/Tail: Her mane is done up in a loose bun behind her head. Her tail is well kept, coming just short of the ground. Both are a light teal colour.

Physique: Very petite, only a head taller than a filly.

Occupation/Class: Once a spa pony, now a Medic.

Cutie Mark:A blue six-petal flower

Hat: Summer Hat painted Ye Olde Rustic Colour

Loadout: Overdose, Quick-Fix, Bonesaw

History: Sweet Scent always loved the spa. The smells, the massages, the atmosphere, everything made Sweet Scent happy about it. It was the perfect place to relax and calm down, even if there’s nothing to calm down about. After her first day at the spa with her mother, she decided then she wanted to learn how to make other ponies feel better. Although she isn’t the greatest at massages, she had a knack for picking out the right combination of scents to compliment the job she was doing, which earned her flower cutie mark, often picking flowers not only for their scent, but for their colours too.

With the war between RED and BLU raging, she was often hired by both sides to give private treatments to the mercenaries. Although she didn’t exactly support the war, she didn’t see any harm in making ponies feel good before they threw themselves into the fray. Her support changed, however, when both heads of RED and BLU were murdered and a robot assault on Mane Co was launched. A call was set out for anyone ever employed by RED or BLU to take up arms and help protect Mane Co from the horde. Although she couldn’t stay off the front lines and provide “moral support”, she likes to pretend that being a Medic and healing ponies with the Medi-Gun isn’t unlike giving them a massage.

Character Summary: Sweet Scent tries to act like the team mum, keeping the team’s spirits up and their bodies in fighting condition. On the field, she often carries some flowers in a small satchel to calm the team and keep them focused. Off the field, she is not opposed to giving them a pseudo-spa treatment if she feels they need it, and tries hard to keep the team feeling good.

Notes on equipment: I am well aware the Quick Fix is probably the worst choice of Medi-Gun for MvM, but my reasoning is thus for choosing it:

1: I like the Quick Fix. Come at me bro.

2: The Quick Fix is really good for healing EVERYONE as fast as possible. That's kinda Sweet Scent's ideology.

3: It's an RP, not an actual game. Chill out.

What was supposed to be just an edit: I just realized that the easiest way to summarize Sweet Scent is to point at Inara from Firefly, minus the "adult" side of what she does. (If you haven't seen Firefly, shame on you I'm not explaining nothing)

History: Sunstrike's past is a mystery, even to himself. Born in the dreaded Badlands, he was raised by a special clan of warrior ponies who prided themselves in swordsponyship and the art of explosives, the Trotts. During his life, he was trained to become a master of many forms of weaponry, and became skillful with many kinds of explosive concoctions. It wasn't until two years ago that, after being sent on a mission by his people, he awoke to find his left eye missing, and his mind wiped clean of any memory of his past. However, what remained intact were the skills he had learned since foalhood. Using these and having nowhere else to go, he became a mercenary for hire for many of Equestria's richest ponies. Recently, he was hired by a company to defend them from a tide of robotic ponies, created by a wicked magician who wanted to bring the company down. Now, he stands beside other ponies as he aids them in their fight to the death. Due to his fearsome reputation, a saying had been made; "One scimitar to strike you with fear, two scimitars to strike you dead."

Character Summary: Sunstrike is a fearless, charismatic fighter who uses his skills to charge into the fray and lay waste to those in his path. Using the legendary swordspony skills of the Trotts, he is a whirlwind of death on the battlefield. With his specially-crafted bomb launchers, he is capable of adapting himself to any situation required, and often serves as the protector of the team's most important ponies. Oh, and also the reason he carries two swords is because he's a boss and hacked the game!

Completely fine with that. Missing eye? Seen that. Still cool. Amnesia and an unstoppable warrior magician? Reputations and slogans? I'm certainly not against seasoned veterans, but this is a little over the top. Meanwhile, the other two completed OCs here are civilians. Can he be toned back a little bit? Again, I hated saying all that.

So, Valence. I got to thinkin'. I spent a bit saying no and not enough time saying yes. Here's a suggestion, which you totally don't have to say yes. This idea came to me after being sticky-bombed to oblivion one day on 2Fort by a Demo wearing the Bearded Bombardier and the Buccaneer's Bicorne. What if the reputation came from the fact that he's, well, an old codger? Still vicious and a bane to his enemies but... going senile. And probably a drunk too, because Demopony. I remember a demotivational poster that read something like "Beware an old person in a profession where one usually dies young."

Edit: OH! Also because the Loose Cannon came out!

Just throwin' that out there. Really, it's because I want a Bearded Bombardier.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I usually use the colour of my pony for their speech, but I imagine Sweet's colour to be about [colour=#ffeeee]this colour, which is almost impossible to read. [/colour]

Also somewhat unrelated, are we using this as the OOC? If so, would you mind terribly changing the title to say OOC?

As it turns out, I can edit posts on my phone! Yay! As far as colour of text goes, I do the same on one piece of the pallet. If I can't do coat, then mane, then eyes, etc. Something to differentiate from the rest of the cast.
