It was a tradition of the pale gray unicorn to do a bit of charity work for the holiday season, and Hearths Warming was only a week away! So for this week she had changed the decor of her shop! Dresses tucked away, the empty space filled with soft couches, plump pillows, and her register having a ,lovely rought iron arch above it, decorated with red ribbons, poinsettia blossoms, and right in the center of it a big sprig of mistletoe!

On a round table beside the decked out space was a jar that said "Pay what you feel" and a little paper sign right in front of the unicorn said " A Christmas Kiss! Price is a donation to the Happy Hooves Charity!" It was a charity that made sure young colts, fillies and others all had a warm place to spend the holidays, as well as good food!

"There we are!" She got in her seat, there was a sign on her shop door that beckoned others inside for a bit of HearthsWarming cheer! There was hot spiced cider and delicate cookies to nibble on, and fellowship to bask in!

Rarity applied just a little bit of her favorite lipstick, and a spritz of perfume, before resting her hooves on the desk in front of her, hoping this would give a nice bit of income for the charity.

Rarity's thread is open for all races, changelings, griffons, ponies ect, but there are a few rules

1: Only one character per person at a time, if you wish to use another, the current character must leave.

2: No drama, fighting or attacking, while I am allowing changelings and other mischievous things, this is to be a fun, high spirited, holiday bit of fun!

3: You must let 3 people post before you, before you can post again , I will try to reply to each post individually ;)

Flux hummed happily as she skipped down the road through Ponyville. She always liked this town, it was nice and friendly. Much better than some of the other cities she'd visited during her travels. She was, of course, currently disguised as her typical purple unicorn form. What to do, what to do. The snow was fun and all, but it was better when there were others to enjoy it with.

Hmm... What is that? HearthsWarming Cheer? Sounds great! Flux smiled widely before bounding through the door, looking around excitedly as she took in the decorations and such. It all looked so fun! She bounced around the store happily, not yet realizing that there actually was another unicorn in the room with her.

"Isn't this great, guys? It's so festive!" Flux said to her two imaginary friends.

Applejack wasn't one for winter. It was a bad time for the harvest and a bad time for the harvest was a bad time for the Apples, all thing considered. Sure, cider sales saw them through and there was always something growing for them to pull on out but everything was generally lesser. Less produce, less sales, a little lighter meals and warmer fires which ate through an ever decreasing amount of timber. It was a lot worse for her and other ponies who bordered the wild Everfree than it was for most as well. Ponyville would once or twice be crushed by wild storms but Sweet Apple Acres was beset almost the whole season with the vicious weather that made its home in that un-Equestrian place. Every morning if she could Applejack would make her way out into the orchard. Amidst blowing winds and blinding snow she'd mend broken trees and chase off wild critters. It got worse sometimes.

Sometimes the trees were beyond saving. Sometimes one of the pigs would get too sick, the cows wander off to be chased by a timberwolf, the hen house raided by one of those snow wolves. The small terrors and sad events that took place at Sweet Apple Acres as part of a farmer's life on the edge of that darkest of oblivion only became starker when it was serene and quiet. Literally the calm before the storm. She hated that most of all. She hated it when it was calm last night. She could hardly sleep and when she finally did, the wind, the snow, the howling of the wolves and cackling of the foxes. The snapping of a tree. She did not get a single hour of good, solid sleep. Instead her morning from the third hour of the day until the tenth, had involved one poor outcome after another.

First the vampire fruit bats had been driven from their little sanctuary by honest to celestia vampire bats! Applejack wouldn't shed a tear for the vampire fruit bats but they were under her protection for better or worse. She had pushed the vampire bats back into the Everfree, even if she had been bitten at least a dozen times. No threat to her- they only spread their weird little virus to vampire fruit bats. Still, the vampire fruit bats would need to be put back into their sanctuary at some point. The tiny droplets of blood she left did lead a snowfox to think she was some wounded small prey. It had charged through the fury of the storm and met the no-nonsense edges of all four hooves until it was sent limping back into the Everfree. Of course where there was one fox there was always a second, so she made her way to the hen house and stopped another fox from getting another hen. A few cuts and tears there, but so far, so good.

Then the howl of the timberwolves. They tried to get to the cows, who in turn had started to stampede. In the heavy snow all they could really do was fall over and hurt one another while the timberwolves closed in. One Applejack, one fight, and ten minutes later, they were saved. Applejack was no better for it but they'd thank her later with milk, always a welcome treat. The real damage was done to the trees though. The morning's storm had seen to it that two trees were declared too far gone. Unlike most other orchards which could survive with a dead tree or two taking up a spot here and there, the trees Applejack grew used a special Apple family fertilizer. Once the tree died the soil would start to go bad. Within a few days it could spread. As sad as it was as she knew the names of Every. Single. Tree. and when they were planted and everything they had done for her, she would have to remove them. They'd help to solve some of the lumber problems, but it'd be bittersweet watching Blissy and Missy go up in flame.

Applejack eventually made her way in town, her body bruised and in some parts cut up even as she hauled a large saddlebag which drooped over the sides to a great degree in its bulk. She'd been bandaged and worked on and it wasn't as if there was anything too serious, but no doubt it'd be sore for a while. Not that she'd be able to rest as no doubt another storm would come in tomorrow. Big Mac's 'shift' in the shed near the edge of the orchard would give her the time to rest, though. A little bit numb and tired and most of all a bit stiff, Applejack made her way to the boutique. She loved herself some charity and considering the generosity Rarity had shown her during the charity auction, Applejack was going to repay her.

Applejack entered, giving the first one who entered a bit of questioning glance. She was all for bouts of imagination and maybe it was just a bit of sour attitude after setting some broken cow femurs and hacking away at may as well be a dead relative, but she wasn't in the mood for something that flummoxed her. At least there was Rarity, who was always good for being good and comforting. Applejack didn't even bother looking at the drinks and cookies. Her mind was on one thing. She dropped the saddlebag with a loud thunk on the ground and groaned a little before opening up her bitpurse. “How ya doin', Rares?”

Hearth's Warming season was upon Equestria, and Diamond Cut felt that it would be the best time to venture forth from his home in the Crystal Empire to enjoy the holidays. Of course he couldn't just leave his business of being a jeweler totally behind. The world was his inspiration and perhaps if he was lucky he'd be inspired today in his stop over in Ponyville.

"What a charming town" the multi-hued stallion replied with a grin as wide as a colt getting a foaling day present as he set forth into the snow,"and so festive for the holidays! Such a feast for the senses, but where shall I partake first?"

His eyes wandered a bit until they stopped on a beautiful circular building made even more beautiful by being decked out to the fullest in Hearth Warming finery. Whoever owned this place surely had a keen eye in design. Maybe he found a kindred spirit, one whose talent was similar to his jewelry making. Opening the door he found that this place was a dress shop, but the dresses were missing leaving an open room. Still he couldn't help but notice some of the gem designs around the area. But his eyes immediately met a very enchanting figure, a unicorn mare who stood out among even the prettiest of things there. And what's this, her cutie mark were three gems! But what stopped his heart was seeing that this pony was offering a chat and a kiss for charity. It was an offer that the stallion, and he believed few other ponies couldn't resist.

"Fortune seems to have smiled on me today," he said with a chuckle as he waited his turn to speak with the mare.

There's always something that seems to put a hitch in the plans of ponies and changelings. For the changeling Kahz, it was winter. How did ponies stand it? Or for that matter, what could possibly have motivated them to bring it upon themselves voluntarily? Really, it was just one more reason in his mind that things were much better managed under Chrysalis. She, at least, never ordered the whole hive to freeze their chitin off for three months out of the year; only those brave individuals who would do field work for the glory of the Hive!

Not that her majesty had actually told Kahz to go out and personally scout the heroines of Equestria. In fact, given that Kahz was born a runt, and with two crooked legs and a bent spine besides, she probably had no sort of notion that the likes of him would be doing field work at all. But he was reasonably certain that news of his successful mission would bring commendation rather than condemnation. Better forgiveness than permission, and all that.

Thus it was that he came to Ponyville, in the guise of a young earth pony stallion named Heart Seeker. His disguise skills were not as yet sufficient to cover up his disfigurement, so it was with a somewhat awkward gait that he scampered towards Carousel Boutique. It was a bold move, coming right up to the Rarity like this, but he was reasonably confident that he looked unthreatening, and it wasn't as if he planned to do any more than recon work.

As "Heart Seeker" approached the incipient line forming, he caught his breath. Was that Applejack? Why yes, it was! What luck, two at once! With a bright smile, he stepped through the door, shaking off the cold in the warm, welcoming atmosphere that the unicorn had carefully cultivated. He gave a slight wave to the crystal pony, trying not to let his surprise show at the fact that there was a sparkling pony right in the midst of them. Kahz didn't know thew could do that! "Fortune, indeed! Any mare that'll open a door to the likes of us on a cold day is a rare gift!"

Having opened with a compliment, he tried to settle his racing heart with a few deep breaths as he looked around. A loyal changeling alone with two elements and two bystanders... so dangerous, but yet so exciting!

Well, three ponies had entered without her knowledge until she saw them standing in a sort of line. It was around then that Flux actually noticed the fourth pony, a white unicorn behind the counter. Well, she looked pretty nice. And it seemed a orange pony was talking to her. This one had a cowpony hat on and looked to be some sort of farmer. Next was a crystal pony, which was an interesting sight to see. Flux stared at the crystalline structure for a bit before moving on to the last pony. He looked crippled, which was sad.

Flux frowned, looking around the room again before spotting the cookies and drinks. She floated over a couple cookies, walking over behind the stallion, tapping him gently on the shoulder and floating one cookie towards him.

"Here you go, buddy. Have a cookie." Flux said, smiling at the stallion.
