The Marvel ponies.

Well, needing a team didn't mean they should come to him instead of a hero, but oh well. Diamond watched her as she talked, gave him the card and then left, sighing again as the door closed behind her. When it was clear she wasn't coming back, he moved into the main room and took a seat on a chair.

"That was intriguing, perhaps I should contact them." He said to himself, looking at the card and puzzling over what the kiss on the card meant. After a few more minutes, he picked up the phone and called the number provided.

Melody ceased her humming and turned to face the newcomer, blinking a few times and giving a curious smile before responding, "I suppose that depends who's asking."

She looked the grey-maned stallion over a moment before standing and politely excusing herself from her parents' company, leading the stallion away from them towards an empty sun room nearby.

She turned to face him, smiling softly as she looked over the youthful looking stallion, meeting his eyes with her own deep aquamarine orbs, and she saw age far beyond that of even the oldest mare or stallion here, and felt a twinge of fear, mingled with respect and curiosity as she opened her mouth, eyelids half lowered, "What can I do for you, mister...?"

She cocked an eyebrow and fluttered her eyelashes as she let her sentence hang, smiling almost knowingly.

Monica sighed as the voice came back. Who the heck was this? Why were they here to talk to her about stuff? She grumbled as she trotted to the door and unlocked it. Trotting back to her couch that she "Bought" She sat down and opened a can of soda before guzzling it down.

Cy followed Ellie towards the storage room. He shuffled in behind her quietly before turning to face her. "We know who you are." He began before doubling back on his words. "What i mean is: We know you can help us." He sat down and relaxed on the floor before he continued explaining himself. "Know that SHIELD isn't looking to harm you. But we believe both your powers and your intellect could aid us in stopping whatever is coming."

The phone rang twice before a certain voice of a certain mare came through. "Traditionally, guys wait two days to call the girl. " The unicorn teased. "Just that desperate?" Scarlet giggled a bit. "I'm downstairs in the carriage. If you'd like a ride, now's the chance."

-

Garrett was about to reply when the mare thought it best to talk somewhere else. They walked for a bit till the came to a stop in a rather secluded hallway. She faced him and something seemed to tick in her head. "My name is Garrett Young." He introduced, "I come from an agency know as SHIELD." He explained as he handed her a file. Inside was a brief summary on Melody and her abilities with a huge APPROVED stamped on it. "My higher ups believe you could help us stop a plot to takeover the world." He handed her a business card with the address to SHIELD HQ. "The job is dangerous but the real danger would be if nopony did anything." He finished explaining before making his way towards the exit. "Thank you for hearing me out."

Lavender heard the click of the door unlocking and waited for it to open but it seemed that wasn't about to happen. She breathed once before opening the door and sticking her head inside only for her glasses to fall off. "Oh shoot!" She gasped falling to her forelegs, trying desperately to find her glasses. Once she had her glasses back on her face she stood up and looked at Monica with a determined but nervous look. "My name is Agent Lavender, I'm come from the Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division." She explained looking away at times nervously. "I was sent to extend an invitation to join a special task force."

Diamond chuckled at her greeting, though he didn't comment on it until she had extended the invitation to ride with her. He looked out the window to locate her carriage as he spoke.

"Desperate? I wouldn't say that, I just like helping people. Besides, you owe me a date." He said, teasing her a bit too. "C'est juste, after all that. I'm coming down, see you soon." He added, hanging up before heading out of the apartment and down to the carriage.

She stared.  She blinked.  What in Celestia's name?

The stallion seemed most serious, and the documents he displayed looked very legitimate.  She sat back down, slowly; her hoof rummaged the files, her eyes quickly scanning the data to see if it were indeed true.

How did they know about the Merlinda case?  Nopony knows about the Merlinda case other than me...these folks must spend a lot of time out on the streets, following me.  As quickly as the feeling of surprise came, the feeling of worry and suspicion followed.  Her eyes narrowed, and she pushed the files back towards the pony, "Where did you get this info?"

So Ellie was being recruited after all. It seemed like they are preparing a team of ponies with unique abilities, meaning that there is a big danger coming. Ellie is fine working with other ponies since she is working with a team of scientists already, she's more worried about her soon-to-be teammates working with each other. Her "outside" face should be able to last for quite a while, but there is no way to know when she would have an outburst. "What do you mean by 'stopping whatever is coming'?" She asked, starting to become concerned.

Monica gave a small pffft noise as the mare dropped her glasses. Sipping her drink more as she turned on the TV and watched Archer as she spoke. When she finished she looked at her skeptically.

"Sounds like a very long explanation for fancy police or something." She said as she tossed her empty can and trotted over to the fridge. "You want anything to eat?" She asked.

Melody's eyes gave no waver of shock or awe as the words were spoken to her, merely listened intently, her ears and eyes at attention. When the stallion--Garrett, as she had found out--finished, she shut her eyes for a moment and turned her face away from him, looking out the window at the sunny day outside, thinking for a few moments before turning and inclining her head towards him, she trotted away and over to her parents, talking softly with them for a few moments, and if the worried glances were anything to go by, telling them what the stallion had just told her. Her mother sighed and the two shared a hug, her mother's eyes shimmering, and she hugged her father as well before returning to the stallion, a set look of determination in her expression.

"Why don't we walk and talk? I'm curious what's going on that you think my abilities would be any help..." She tilted her head towards the door, indicating that she would rather discuss 'hero business' elsewhere.

The carriage stood on the curb waiting for Diamond to come down. The Carriage was extremely fancy and stood out from the other carriages on the block. "Come on big boy." Scarlet said as Diamond came into view. "We're going to be late."

-

Neria never received her answer, just the jingle of the door bell closing behind Sun as he left the Cafe. All he left behind was the business card and the brief case.

-

Cy shook his head at her question before shrugging. "We're not sure." He replied looking at her with actual worry in his eyes. "All we know is that the Norse god of chaos, Loki stole a object of immense energy." He explained. "Someone like that with that power could do some serious harm."

-

Lavender shook her head at Monica's offer for food. "I had a Salad earlier." She explained as she looked around the apartment, inspecting all of 'Monica's' property. "I really need to talk to you about helping save the world."

-

Garrett smiled as Melody caught up to him. She offered to walk and talk to which he nodded to. "Thank you. Please lead the way."

Monica had grabbed a hot pocket and threw it into the microwave. The words from the mare came to her and she snickered. "Salad....pffffffft....." She said as she waited for her food. When the words of saving the world came she stopped and looked over her shoulder. "Really...... you think i wanna save the world?" She muttered.

"So gods are apparently real, great." Ellie thought, sighing as she put her hoof on her chin. The stallion doesn't seem to be lying, but risking her life to save the world is something that must be thought through carefully. Ellie wanted to help save the world, but is a team of heroes strong enough to stop a god? She is doomed either way, but there is more honour dying to protect all of pony-kind than to die without doing anything. Argh, the pressure!

"Alright, I'll help." She said, voice firm and serious. "Just tell me how to get started."

Diamond smiled at the sight of the carriage, climbing into the vehicle next to Scarlet and closing the door.

"Late? What, can you not wait to get rid of me?" He asked, giving her a sly smile. He chuckled a bit after that before continuing. "I certainly would love to spend more time with a wonderful mare such as yourself."

Melody headed out into the street, heading around the corner to a nearby cafe, where she sat on a bench the establishment had placed outside, patting the spot next to her as she eyed the grey maned stallion, and ordered a coffee as a waitstaff member drifted out the front doors. The outside seating portion of the shop was completely empty except for her, and the inside was just as quiet, it being such an odd time of day.

"So, Garret, is it?" She asked as she received her hot drink, turning towards the stallion, "Tell me more."

Lavender watched Monica prepare a Hotpocket in the microwave and blushed slightly as she was teased for eating a salad. Monica then asked if she looked like she wanted to save the world. Lavender looked around the apartment to find something that Monica would be willing to protect but failed and decided to try and appeal to her humor. "Well, if the world ends there won't be any more hot pockets."

Cy gave Ellie a warm smile and a look of gratitude. "You can start by coming with me to HQ." He replied, getting to his hooves. "I'll give you some time to gather some things and explain to the professor where you're going." He told her as he moved to the door. He opened it and stood in the doorway and looked at her. "I'll be outside in the facy carriage. Take as much time as you need." He shut the door behind him leaving Ellie inside. When she would try the door, she find it locked, despite Agent Cy not touching the lock on it.

-

Scarlet giggled at Diamond's response. "Well, my boss really wants to meet you." She explained as she gently ran her hoof across the griffon's chest. "But if was up to me, we would be going on that date." The carriage moved onwards, soon taking flight as the pegasi pulling the carriage took off.

-

Garrett walked with Melody to the cafe and blushed slightly when she offered for him to sit next to her. He took a breath and sat across from her instead. He ordered his coffee and Melody asked for more info. "Well a few days ago one of our secret faculties was broken into by Loki, the Norse trickster god." He began to explain but stopped as their coffee was delivered. "He stole an item known as the Teseract, a fourth dimensional hypercube, a source of unimaginably energy. Someone like that with that kind of power, can't be planning anything good."

"Perhaps later then, I would not forgive myself for getting you fired over a date." Diamond replied, touching her cheek gently with the backs of a couple talons. They only lingered there for a moment before he moved them, the tip of one gently brushing her chin as he gave her a gentle smile. He made no other moves on her, letting her break the silence with her actions or her words.

Melody sipped her coffee silently as Garrett spoke, and when he finished, she gently set the cup down and turned her gaze to him, "And...you think I could help in some way with this...."

She paused a moment, the name feeling foreign to her, "Loki?"

"So we're getting starting already." Ellie said to herself after the stallion closed the door. She used her powers to pull a box that was marked with a small panda head in the corner. Once she was sure that she had everything, she picked up the box and turned the doorknob...except it wasn't turning. She tried again, the same thing happened. "EEEEEEEEHH?!" Ellie exclaimed, frowning as she puffed her cheeks. "If you want me to help save the world, why did you lock me in?!" Ellie tried turning the knob again and again, applying more strength into each turn until the knob gave in and broke. "EEEEEEEEEEHH?! SERIOUSLY?!" She yelled. That stallion! He must have some kind of gadget or maybe a super power that locked the door from the outside! Her keys are still in her pocket, which confirms it.

She quickly got to work and studied the mechanism of the lock from the hole the knob made...and got nothing out of it. But she knew that the block that protrudes from the door is made out of steel, meaning that it was magnetic. She  went back to the boxes in the storage room and went through then as quickly as she could, ending up with a coil, old crocodile clips, and a used battery pack. She hooked up the coil to the battery pack and smirked at her creation. Running electric current through the coils should make a magnetic field through the center, thank you tenth grade physics! Ellie put the coil next to the lock and watched the block slowly retreat back into the door...too slowly. While waiting, she remembered that she was able to lock the door from the inside by turning...oh gosh. She sighed and put the coil down and turned the deadbolt knob, unlocking the door. She sighed again and reached for the doorknob...no doorknob. Wait...why didn't she just use her powers to get out, that would have saved her 5 minutes and a doorknob! She opened the door and was immediatly greeted by a sighing Professor Quark. "Don't even try explaining, just take this and go. I'll clean up here." She said, dropping an earring into her hoof and pushing her out of the store room. "Um, okay! Say bye to Dr Reins for me! Thank you!" Ellie smiled, stuffing her lab coat into the box as she ran down and out to the carriage. She got on and looked at the stallion, narrowing her eyes.

(Lol too much.)

Neria sat there for a moment, deliberating what to do.  She frowned at the files in-front of her, before swiftly sweeping them into her saddlebag.  She gave a smile to the patrons on the cafe, and left through the door.  This is all too odd, but also too odd to ignore.  If something is truly wrong with the world, then perhaps I should step up and use my abilities for something more than money.  She stared back into the cafe, a soft look on her face.

The files layed out infront of her, and she closed her eyes.  The warehouse was empty, save for the weapons logged onto the wall.  Her warehouse.  The files held interesting stories, something about Gods and some secret organization.  It was all a bit much, but not too much.  She looked outside the window, her hooves flipping through the documents once more, "Where are the directions?"

Scarlet gave Diamond a suggestive smile before looking off towards the distance. "We should arrive shortly. Once there you will be escorted through the compound." She explained before leaning in close as if he was going to kiss him but stayed a good half inch from his beak. They landed soon after and the guards stood ready, though they weren't heavily armed. "Don't worry, they're just there to show you around."

-

Garrett nodded at Melody. "Yeah, not much is about him, though i think he is Discord's cousin." He replied. "He's practically indestructible. But maybe we can beat him into submission."

-

Agent Cy stood by the carriage waiting for Ellie. "Did you get everything miss Chrysler?"

-

The card Neria held displayed an address, directly under the SHIELD logo. (I said it had the address several posts earlier)

-

Lavender grew confused and was about to say it was a joke but part of her decided to play on this. "Yeah. or... or..." Lavender's eyes darted around the room again. "Or video games."

((Whoops!  Must have missed that~))

Finally, she found the address.  It looked familiar to her, she had probably glanced at it before her trip to the cafe.  Neria sighed, before looking towards the Sun.  There was still some part of the day to go, and she knew her next mercenary mission wouldn't be available until the ambassador arrived next week.  She closed her eyes, Should I follow this random address given by a random pony?  Probably.

With that, she began suiting up: A tight, dark grey catsuit and a thick hooded cape.  The cape was long and black, hiding her collapsible double-tipped staff.  Sure-she looked a bit suspicious-but she had a feeling where she was going, it didn't matter.  She waved her hooves in front of her, a thin shield protecting herself.  When you're a mercenary, it's better to be safe than sorry: always keep yourself protected.  She gave one last check towards the address, and headed out.

Diamond gave her a smile as she leaned closer, gazing back at her seductively until the carriage came to a stop.

"You are certainly beautiful, mademoiselle Scarlet." He said, giving her a wink before he began climbing out of the carriage. He then blew her a kiss and headed off into the building.

Ellie quickly smiled, hiding all her anger under it. "Yes. Shall we go then?" she said showing him the box. Why did she need to bring her stuff? Is she going to have to live in they headquarters? No, the things in her box don't belong in a bedroom. Maybe she's getting her own personal lab!
