Thoughts on the episode? Currently like four minutes into it and my mind has been blown to pieces at one of the facts. Decided to make a seperate thread to raise awareness and such.

I'm not gonna lie, I was kind of a sequel hater, but this has been spectacular so far.

It's so great to be able to watch this a month or so early, as far as I know. The new opening is so epic. Everything is still just as amazing now that I've watched parts of it again.

Thank you internet! Haha.

Hm, unfortunately the quality isn't that great in the new link. :|

New links!

Pretty darn good for a first episode, even if you haven't seen the show before it. :)

The story itself seems a lot more mature, and so does the animation. I think they've done that since the whole scenario of the world seems more complex than just an all out war like the show before.

so just watched the first episode and OMG OMG OMG OMG ! ahh that was , that blew my mind, it was so awesome and like they did a great job not straying form the avatar universe and the continuity was off the chain, a little bummed that sokka not going to be in any of it but thats okay, this continuation is going to rock

I think I'm going to wait to watch it on TV. Internet quality isn't the greatest, and I don't mind waiting. I mean, I've waited since 2011, I think I can handle another month.

So excited though, I can't wait to see how this story pans out. :kissy:

DosEquus, you're awesome.

Couple of things about the show so far:

1: It'll be interesting to see what future episodes hold, because while Last Airbender (Hereafter referred to as LA) was about Aang learning the elements to stop Fire Lord Ozai and the various misadventures along the way, Legend of Korra (LoK) already has her mastered all the elements (besides Air and supposedly the sub-elements [metalbending, bloodbending, etc]) and there's no big war she needs to end, so it'll be interesting to say the least.

2: Is it me, or does the firebender in the intro look like an old Zuko? I'm pretty sure that's the fire crown in his hair, plus it looked like rather regal robes he was wearing. Maybe we'll see an old Zuko like we saw an old Katara? That would be cool, even if he only shows up for one episode.

3: Back to the elements, it's kinda cool how the started the series with the one element book they didn't use for LA; Air. Although this makes me question what the other "books" are going to be, since LA took the other three. Unless they're just going to reset it, or make it like "Water 2" or something.

i think it might be because Korra can use the other elements but has not really mastered any other than waterbending apparently. IT might also cover the more 'modern' form of pro-bending like how Bolin taught her a thing or two about earth-bending.

I think this season might be following more a benders vs. non benders which has been hinted at a couple of times, i think there will be some kind of anti-bender rebellion and it'll be down to Korra to bring peace between benders and non-benders. Which will be difficult seeing as she's the biggest bender alive !

On another note i love the new season so far ! I think probending is pretty cool and think its funny how the writers have kind of been like "Well, no Zutara for you sooo heres another grumpy firebender and another friendly waterbender . . . . *trollface*"

My friend has been pestering me about this for such a long time because we were complete fans of the last series, so I was more irritated than excited when I was forced to watch the episode...

But wow.

Just, wow, I'm all pumped up about this again! Sure, of course it's different but I'm not too picky about things that change, so long as it has the same kind of style and story that made me fall in love with LA in the first place.

I agree, I'm sure that plot point will become a major theme and conflict further down the road. which i think is great sense the last book had no hint whatso ever of this , sense the war was over control of bending nations by benders themselves, non bending never really got the spotlight in the major plot. I also saw some paralells, maybe its just me but Republic city and the nonebending plight that was mention breifly in that small rally Korra came across, reminds of the book called "The Jungle". Sense it seems the setting of the city was going for a turn of the 20th century theme with all the 1900s new technology that was featured. At the end of the Jungle, a socialist uprising was taking place between the working classes and high classes of society. This is how the nonbending arguement seems its going to play out.

It's pretty interesting so far. However, I felt like they are overdoing it a little with the making faces. Maybe it's just me, though. It seems... different then before.

I dont know, LAs experessions have always been there, throughout the whole of the series, thus far for me the two episodes have just continued that, not too much and not too less. I'm sure their always be there. the exgerated faces that were apart of LA were there because in my opinion, LA and this new series are more of a westerned style take on anime, at least i think thyey can be considered that.

Well this series looks good but I might not be able to enjoy it without breaking some eggs.

I may have to cheat with this one (and it might involve sea faring marauders and their docking stations if you catch my drift, yarr.) as its on too early and I dont have DVR/Tivo/a dvd recorder or even a VCR I can use and I doubt this will be on demand until more episodes come out and I bet once the episodes are put on Youtube Viacom will kill them.

And dont bring up itunes, its a bloated piece of software and I hate Apple with a passion.

I can send you a link to a couple of 'watch stuff online' sites if you are ever stuck - that is if you don't mind getting them from a dirty Mac-user :P

Avatar ponies -- I've heard this series mentioned before in other places from different people, and you have me curious. Do I have to watch the first Avatar series to understand this?

Can one of you sum up what it's about? I know I could just google it, but I'd rather hear it from the horse's *giggle* mouth.

You need to watch the first series to get some of the in jokes and to know the history which they kind of glaze over. But other than that, not at all. The series is pretty self contained. They basically make the history inconsequential for the current situation (at least thus far).

I'd still suggest watching the first series though. It was fantastic.
