Pokemon pretty much got me into anything internet related, so I'm sure that was my first RP too, lol. I RP for the same reason, more of less. Instead of gender exploration in particular, it's just imagining being something that isn't human that I overwise couldn't experience in real life.

I've got two "maybes," I guess. My roommate has shown two signs - I heard him watching an FiM video on Youtube a while ago and just yesterday he slipped 10 seconds flat into a conversation with me (of course, I suppose that could mean nothing, lol). Another is an online friend. A couple days ago he was linking me to a bunch of deadpan videos like Llamas with Hats and ASDF so I jokingly said "You like deadpan, eh? Here, have 20 minutes of it," and linked him to the full ep "It's About Time." He goes "WTF is this? I'm gonna kill you for making me watch it" and then "OMG, this song's gonna be stuck in my head now! Can't look away!" I asked him yesterday if he ended up watching it and he said "No, not yet." So yeah, either they don't like it or they do and are just hiding it from the person who showed it to them for some reason, lol.

Dang, it’s been a year since that already? Hard to believe that this time last year I was only just starting my first deployment (I’m in the US Navy). I was onboard the Ronald Reagan, which was the closest ship at the time so we were the first to respond. I didn’t get sent to land to help out or anything but I was working to send relief supplies from the ship. Hopefully things are going well and looking up for you and your country!

They should totally visit Ponyville someday. I guess that would also let us find out what became of Rarity's popularity.

It means the roleplay help staff have approved it and put it there for Skye and Manestream to see so that you can be added to the roleplay group. So basically it's approved, but the roleplay help staff can't add you themselves. It's also probably one more check to make sure nothing in your app's been overlooked.

It still needs approval from either Skye or Manestream, who will then add you to the Roleplayer group. Then you'll be able to post. Edit: Ninja'd. xD

Well, deja vu. I went to boot camp 2 years ago in the same month, lol. I think I know how he's feeling right now, lol. Anyway, I can't speak for the family of a new recruit since I haven't gone through that personally, but I'll say just find a way to keep yourself busy. He'll be kept busy at camp so the time will seem to fly by for him. He should be able to call and write to you regularly too (although I'm Navy, so I don't know for sure how different recruit training is for the Army). I have heard stories of how much people will notice the recruit missing from their daily lives. Don't let it make you regret his decision, just remember he's taken the step to do something big and you should be proud of him. There's going to be times he's going to wish he never enlisted and he'll need to remember the same. He's going to be experiencing and doing things very few can even imagine and it's going to be great.

Anyone here thinking of going? It'll be my first time if I do go. Kinda nervous though since I don't exactly know what I'm doing, lol. The one thing nagging at me is how the whole cosplay thing works. What do people do to prepare costumes? What do they do at the convention as the character? Stuff like that. I'm planning on starting an RD-esque costume this weekend (or at least plan out and get the materials anyway). What I'm thinking of doing is just getting a blue hoodie and customize it to look like a Wonderbolt jersey (stuff like the lightning bolt designs at the end of their hooves and I'll porbably put RD's cutie mark on the back or something), then try and style a wig to look like her mane. Possibly ears and a tail if I get my hands on them, but they're not exactly at the top of list. Anyone got any advice? I've had some experience sewing in high school (although that was about six years ago xP). But otherwise, I'm completely stabbing in the dark here.

On one hand, it was hilarious but on the other, this is only like the 3-5th episode (depending on your opinion of a few eps, I suppose) and it's explicitly a repeat of her first lesson? That makes me feel the writers really don't want to develop AJ and this is just their way of showing it. Although I've also thought of the possibility that it was just a clever play on her element, lol. Wait, why am I overthinking a little girl's cartoon again?

Anything with a good drum beat and/or guitar music in the background. For example, my favorite song atm is You're Gonna Go Far Kid by The Offspring (preferably the sped up version -whether RD or not- because I prefer faster beats) - I can listen to the background instruments to that song all day, lol.

I've got one friend who dislikes the show because of the mass amount of fans with the whole "if you don't like it, you just haven't watched it yet" attitude. There's one reason to dislike the show, even if it isn't the show itself but a result of the show.

Well, Riverhippo posted the individual results so now you know I voted for it as number 1, lol. Figured I might as well since it was the first episode to turn my opinion about the show around as I was first watching the series (from "It's not bad, but what's the hype?" to "Oh crud, this is actually good." xD) Reason being, it was the first episode (in my opinion anyway) chronologically that had the characters (Rainbow, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight) the most fleshed out as characters as they each had their own views on the situation. --- Off-topic: I want a waterhippopotamus! I pretty much don't watch TV unless it's animated, lol. Case Closed, DBZ Kai, Teen Titans, Yugioh Zexal, and Cardfight Vanguard (the last two because I play the actual games - otherwise the shows are terrible but I'm addicted to the games xP) currently, also planning on rewatching Ed Edd n Eddy and watching all of Avatar (I've seen a few random eps but not the entire series). Non-cartoons I watch on occasion (typically with friends and family) are Jeff Dunham, Gabriel Iglesias, Whose Line is it Anyway, and Wipeout.

Nope, just a name I've been using for years on Yugioh forums that just stuck. I keep in contact with a good number of people I've met from various forums over the last three years or so now, so I've just kept the same username so everyone calls me the same thing on Skype, lol. The username itself was just something random to begin with (I think it was inspired from Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, iirc xD).

I think Pinkie's humor was perfect and the opening, even if it was primarily fanservice, would be funny whether you already knew Derpy's origin or not.
