Comics-verse and Movie-verse have no obligation to be the same. In fact they really can't be the same because Marvel doesn't own the live action rights for some of the characters they usually include in the Avengers in comics-verse soooo... there's no reason to think that Thor will suddenly go back to being male when Age of Ultron hits theaters.

Well, Marvel/Disney do own all the movie rights for the Avengers..Just not the X-Men/Fantastic Four/Spider-Man/etc..At least not yet..And they did this before.Bucky was Cap for a bit, and when one of the movies popped up, Steve was Cap once more.

They didn't make HALF as big a deal of it as they're doing now. Marvel is pushing hard on diversifying their cast. I say we stop bagging on them for changing things without sticking to them in the past, and let it happen, yeah? If it's successful in widening their comic book audiences, Marvel's comics division is HIGHLY unlikely to change it back anytime soon.
