Those are the ones our local stores have now. At least the codes matched enough for me to the the Mane 6 on the first try. Took some time and found the thread I meant here. in the Lyra thread. (the internet here at work is wonky sometimes so I didn't search before posting yesterday )

I've never seen anything but Wave 1 blind bags. Of course there aren't too many stores in the area that carry them. 1 Wal-mart and 2 Toys 'R Us are all I've found. The 1 K-Mart only had 3 figures on the shelf. Total. Anypony verify the yellow blind bags from *forget the name* thread a while back? I NEED a Celestia and Luna now that I have my mane 6!

So today I was one of a small handful made to work for ridiculous reasons. But as it ended up I was one of a small number in a million sq ft building. So I spent all day rewatching Season 1 episodes. It's amazing how many great moments I had forgotten about! The two biggest things that hit me on a second run through- In S1 E 21 "Over a Barrel" Twilight says "anybody" It's amazing how after over 6 hours of non-stop Ponies that REALLY stood out. I mean it sounded alien to hear body instead of pony after all that! And it really didn't hit me just how scary Pinky Pie was in "Party of One" the first time through. It was really disconcerting. Anypony else have moments like that to share?

For me Love is in Bloom and This Day Aria are neck and neck. I like the positive upbeat feel of Bloom, though I have to admit I think Aria is probably musically superior. Edit to throw in another bit: When listening to the songs on Youtube I always prefer the original animation with them (discounting remixes). Anypony else?

I kept seeing them pop up on Memebase. Got curious and watched Episode 1. Thought, "Ok, what's the fuss about?" Got bored working night shift one time and watched a few more. By the end of the night I was hooked. Then "My Little Brony got its own section and I went squee.

And now my computer is downright infested with ponies! I just wish the sound files for Luna were there. It's interesting to note that AppleJack doesn't have a sleep animation at all. I guess she's too hard working to take a break. ?

Oooo I like that. thinking that the ponies are what replaces us after we nuke ourselves to oblivion is actually kinda optimistic. Beats the horrors from the deep you usually think of. And it looks like they are doing better than we are most of the time.

Isn't the axiom that sufficiently advance technology is indistinguishable from magic? And of course we have the corollary: Sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology. The short answer is, of course, that they have whatever they need for the plot of a given episode to work. Incidentally I found this on here so I may read it and get more ideas. But I agree with the differing desires/needs of Equestria over humans. Not everypony needs gizmos to feel complete or happy. We seem to think we do. And there seems to be a lot of regional flavor to it as well. When AJ ran away it was very "old west." Manehatten, however seems very early 20th century.

Well, this weekend I got the last of the mane 6 from Toys are Us blind bags Wave 1 codes. Now I've got to look for these yellow bags!

I'm begging someone to tackle an art project for me. I would like to have an image made for the cutiemark *stamp* currently being offered. I think it's a 75X75 transparent png pic... Done of the cutiemark on my profile pic. Here's a (lousy) image of it. It looked minimally better before it got compressed, but not much. If someone could do something of this nature only that looks, you know, good I'd really appreciate it.

The alt ending for the wedding was creepy. Very well done, but freaky. I saw this on a MLP chan, so I don't know where it came from originally. I found it again at the link. I almost made me cry.

I'm torn too. I LOVE the show and am somewhat obsessed with all things MLP:FiM right now. But I tend to be quiet about it. I'm old and male enough to worry about my fandom being strange. (older than what seems like the median age here ) I have some ponies on my dresser, but no clothes or anything. I have gotten my boys into it too. (they're 12) And my wife is coming on board the Pony Express. I'd be all for porting to Equestria if I could drag the rest of my little herd too!

On the volume thing, I remember reading somewhere (online) that the old rule was that the commercial couldn't be louder than the show so that's where the "hovering at the level of the loudest sound in the show" phenomena happened. But there are supposed to be new rules going into effect that specify that the average volume, not the peak, is the limit on ads. Soooo can't wait for that! I hate most ads. I love the "Where rainbows -PUNCH HOLES INT HE SKY!-" bit though.

I'm assuming you're referring to "finding our special talent" and not the post count ranking? My cutie mark would likely be similar to the one on my profile pony. I'm well beyond old enough, and have been a blacksmith for almost a decade. Thought of something else to add. We know there are horseshoes in Equestria, but who are the smiths? I would think the hard dirty work seems more Earth pony-ish but how would they use the hammer and tongs. Same way the Cakes use cooking impliments I guess?

But it does open the door to the idea of counterfeit Alicorns. An impostor usururping the throne! Who knows? And this is (while not exactly on topic) interesting and somewhat relevent.

As far as the "gimmick" goes, I know for me I found it compelling because a lot of how the narrator described his life matched up with how my life was when I was in my early 20s. Maybe everyone goes through that, or maybe people that go through that empty, alone time are more inclined to like our Ponies. I wouldn't be surprised to find that is a common thread for the folks that liked the story. I didn't cry (I read it at work so full immersion and being "ungaurded" was out) but I did find it touching.

I agree with Thoth. While I love the Fluttershy heavy way of things, I feel bad poor AppleJack hasn't gotten the love she deserves.
