    Pinkie Pie had planned a perfect picknick party for her pretty princess friend Rarity's birthday, but an unexpected summer thunderstorm rained on her parade... ...Rarity had an umbrella. asdflalvdsalfdlsaf I hate drawing Rarity so much... she came out so awkward in this and I spent like 10 minutes on those freaking curls. I'm just glad I could get away with hiding her bangs behind Pinkie. Pinkie's fun to draw, as expected from best pony. I feel like I'm forgetting something.... oh yeah ~Shippy shippy shippy

    Wam-Bam! Two avatars down in one post! Tango for TangoWhooves! I'm not sure why I drew Tango with that faint shimmer in his eyes... He just came out so handsome I had to do it. Also I hate drawing hats. Sydphony for MarchingHammers. Marching you have NO idea how hard your color scheme is to work with. There's a reason you never see ponies with dark colors in the show. But my love for Pink Floyed compells me to forgive you... this time.

    I really try to avoid judging myself based on a chart because of not only self fulfilling prophecy (if you're told you're like something or act a certain way, you're more likely to follow that path) but also ideal self bias (You're more likely to pick a description of yourself based on your ideal self, not your real self). Buuuut based on what I read, I guess I'm a Scootaloo. I'm okay with this! Granted on most "Mane 6" personality tests I score Applejack... which is kinda awkward because she's like my least favorite of the mane 6 (not that I don't love her! I just find her boring).

    I went out one afternoon and just grabbed a fresh box of blindbags off the walmart shelf. I kept the box. Here's the cards, I don't feel like taking a picture of the box and the figures right now as they're unorganized.

    Wacom is a great company to get a tablet from. Just be sure to use it on a flat surface and BE NICE TO YOUR USB CORD. I ended up damaging mine while I was drawing on my lap, thankfully the folks at Wacom were cool and sent me a replacement after I emailed a picture of my receipt and tablet cereal number. My advice on getting better at drawing? Never stop drawing! If you just keep at it and don't stop, you'll be able to see yourself improve. I got to where I am now by throwing myself at the mercy of others and taking OC requests. I learn something from each piece of art I make and take that lesson with me to the next. Heck my DeviantArt page is like a timeline of Suck to Okay to Not half bad. Also a fun training tool is sticky notes. Draw a ponies face on a sticky note and stick it somewhere, then move on to the next face. It's what I did before I went out and got my tablet. Another good practice method is using what I call 'sketch skeletons'. Draw the basic shapes (Head = circle with an X to define face position, Body= Jelly bean, front legs = curvey rectangles, Thighs = hams (teehee), back legs = off center curvy rectangles). Then draw the details (this is the order I draw them) Snout/jaw, nostril(s), eyes, ears, horn(unicorns), hair, wings (pegusai), tail, cutie mark. Did I mention to never stop drawing?

    Once you get done with Exams how about taking a crack at a Pharm Party banner? I'd love it if the text could read "Ask-Pharm-Party.Tumblr", but if there's no room "Pharm Party" is just fine! I can post a barrage of referances if you haven't seen my bazillion posts featuring him.

    Raindrops is sad because it's sunny out. I know how she feels, I love thunderstorms! Oh god you have NO idea how horrible my first pass at this was... ugh. Don-don't even go looking for it. I'm removing it from the thread and hoping no-one saved it. I must be having one of my off days. I'm gana go draw Pharm making out with Rainbow Blitz or Braeburn or something.

    Raindrops is sad because it's sunny out. I know the feeling, I slept through the thunder storm that happened last night! OKAY! So I fixed the nose (it was too flat) and the Ear (it was too big and not pointy enough.) Despite how frustrating this was, it was a great learning experience! Also added some eye detail and a little more shine to the hair. NOW you can avatar it up Thoth!

    Gotta hurry! I'm late for my own Killing Floor thing! I'm an idiot who can't host servers. Raindrops for Thoth! I'll be honest... her eyes seem so off to me. Thoth I may go back and re do her eyes. Maybe they're too big or... maybe they're too square- I dunno. Someone help me figure out what looks off about this? Okay, so I'm going to edit-redo this. GOt some useful tips from a chat, Dont use this yet Thoth! I'mma make her face look less flat!

    I'd like to be a potential applicant, though I'm gana have to read the story first (I can do that later tonight). I'll put something together afterwords for an example of my work, then I'll let you decide if I'm an eligible applicant for one of the chapters. But at the moment I've got a request to finish before Killing Floor!

Done 2) Applejack or Pinkie Pie with Glasses (Pushed back). 3)Avatar for TangoWhooves (assuming that's the pony's name) Done 4) Sydphony for Marchinghammers (we're all just bricks in the wall) Done 5) Avatar for Rocka 6) Doctor Whooves and Violet Breeze for DoctorWhooves 7)Twilight Shine for hinata2000100 (Also I plan to re-do the Fluttershy avatar with glasses after this request set. I'm aware it's terrible.) 8)Lightning Dancer for SonicRainboomGirl, and I still need a referance shot. 9) If I can somehow kill this list before more requests show up, I'll do a second request for BronyNumber299 I'm gana get Raindrops done tonight for sure, then depending on how Killing Floor goes tomorrow I may get done with between 1 and 3 requests. Power died last night in hail storm, so I'm getting it done before my Killing Floor thing!

    This thread is for artists to help each other work out the various kinks they come across with their art. Be it coloring, shape, or shading. I'll start with my current problem and hope I can get some help/advice. I've been having trouble with art continuity lately. The thing that's been vexing my artistic consistency is how I draw mares faces. Or more specifically the nose/mouth part. I threw this together because I need some help, which face style should I focus on for my current style? I left #six blank to serve as both a control and a base if anyone wants to try this out for themselves. Also, if you know a better method for drawing a mares face, feel free to use #6 to show me! I'm banging my head against a wall about this.
