  1. True, but odds are most of the little Fillys watching the preview haven't gone online to look up the first synopsis Saying that it looks like somepony is going to be an only child again....
  2. I agree that Pumpkin's magic being partially due to magic surges and partially due to hyperfocusing, perhaps Sweetie Belle could do something similar at that age but now that she's older she dosen't have surges and has to learn to do magic over again Pound flying is similar, he's probably flying on instinct, Scootaloo on the other hand is older, perhaps her wings haven't caught up with her body, perhaps she's the only Pegasus in her imediate family so she's had to figure out how to fly on her own, though if you look closely her flying has improved since episode 17 A couple of other things I've noticed are if you listen closely when the Cutie Mark Crusaders are mixing the potion from Hearts And Hooves Day the music sounds a bit like the music from The Sorceror's Apprentice (I find it starts to sound clearer when they're getting the Rainbow) Take a good look at the group buying muffins in Applebuck Season and compare it to the group in the emergency ward, I noticed two Ponies in particular are different: Derpy was at Sugar Cube Corner but wasn't in the hospital (so they didn't have any effect on her), Berry Punch wasn't at Sugar Cube Corner but was in the hospital (bad hangover perhaps?)
  3. Oh Good! I'm not the only one who thinks so (pity this episode didn't have a random Spike & Scootaloo duet) Hmmm, Interesting point, I actually thought of it as being a bi-cultural/multi-cultural identity story; often when someone comes from one culture and grows up outside of it, for a while they won't give their genetic culture a thought but then will reach a point where they want to know everything they possibly can about it some even to the point that they become almost a stereo-type of that culture but eventualy they learn to balance all the cultures they belong to And I think that part of the teenage Dragons' problem is a surplus of testosterone or whatever the Dragon evquivilent is, raging hormones mess up a brain like nopony's buisiness Hmm, maybe Spike is part Pony, after all he was born from Unicorn Magic
  4. Personally I thought that part of the point was that Cranky, like some others, was a bit slow to warm up and sometimes slow to warm people have a reason to be, most of the Ponies seem to be fairly open so the same strategy has always worked for Pinkie, really the closest thing to a template she had for dealing with Ponies that put up barriers was when she first met Twilight and even in that case she just walked towards a table looking irratated, poured a drink and ran away (which Pinkie Pie misenterpreted as being emotionally moved, either way, Twilight never openly rejected her the way Cranky did). When she saw that her usual method failed she tried everything she could think in hopes that one would work. I can see how some of these attempts could be considered rude, namely the inccident where she tries to find a replacement wig, though she did seem to be surprised when everyone started laughing about the whole thing. As for not knowing the degree to which Carnky lost his friend or if she'd be able to find them, there is one point that hints that the friend is living in Ponyville, when Pinkie asks about the photo before the book has it's....accident. They have touched on not being able to win everypony over in the part where Pinkie is talking to Twilight and no means no was touched on in a recent episode, though not in the same way. Either way, I agree that having the episode end in her simply acepting that Cranky dosen't want to be friends wouldn't really work and having her thinking that she'll have to do that, and then winning him over after she tried to get him to accept her apology was a good way to handle it Basically the message being that some people aren't as friendly as others and perhaps aren't willing to open up to new people right away but you can still be nice to them and they may be willing to accept you, but just because one approach as worked on most people dosen't mean it will work on everyone
  5. This (technically they were considered the same series) Then Sailor Moon when I was 4 And of course Pokemon, Digimon and Cardcaptors were early ones too, I also watched the original Dragon Ball series (the one that resembles Journey to the West) There's also one that ran when I was 8 and 9 that I really loved, Flint the time Detective that's the one that made me want to go into animation
  6. And now I'm bumping this up because this is a really fun topic and we're allowed to do this sort of thing True and usually they fit right against the hoof/leg but there are a few examples such as the galoshes from episode 14 that look like human shoes that on humans would have most of the foot go in but on ponies is just empty space I know especially when you're doing faces and if you don't put the needle in just the right place the mouth looks crooked or the eyes look off.... On that note appearently there are two types of sewing machines, the way their counter part in our world works, for those who aren't familiar with non-electric ones, is that you press the pedal with your foot which turns a wheel that is connected to the wheel on the side of the machine itself and runs the rest of the machine, now take a good look at the beginning of "Art of the Dress Reprise" you can see everything in that shot, there's no pedal no large wheel just the machine on the table. Now look at the scene in "Show Stoppers" when Sweetie Belle has a sewing machine, it does have the full mechanism (the non-magic model, perhaps?) Assuming Equestria's calendar more or less matches ours, Spike's birthday is around June 20th and Secret of my Excess takes place very early in the season, possibly right after Lesson Zero to explain: •The events of the second season happen after the first season •Twilight first arrived in Ponyville around the time of the Summer Sun Celebration •In Secret of my Excess Spike says that this is his first birthday in Ponyville (granted he could have been out of town on his birthday the year before but they probably would have done something anyway and there are more points below) •All of the Mane 6 received their Cutie Marks around the same time and Fluttershy says that this was during Summer flight camp, therefore it happened early in Summer but before Summer Solstice/The Summer Sun Festival •If it's early in summer vacation that would also explain why Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were already in camp at the time, while Twilight was taking an entrance exam for the up coming school year (and it does make sense that she would have been practising for the better part of a year, there could have been a minimum age or it was too late in the year too book an exam or her parents noticed after she had been practising for a few months that she has talent for magic), both Pinkie Pie and Applejack are out of school (though depending on how many families like the Pie Family are near Ponyville Pinkie and her sisters may have been home schooled) and Rarity's class is still preparing for their end of year play (Can somepony confirm whether or no most schools have one of these? I've been told that they do but I'm home schooled so....On a side note that also means that Applejack and Rarity are probably different ages since Ponyville doesn't seem to be big enough to have more than one grade per age)
  7. I still think that it's silly to consider Derpy offensive Perhaps what they could do is put Derpy's name back in the version with the altered voice (considering it's the voice that received so many complaints, considering there characters with names like "Dopey" that nobody complained about, the name Derpy shouldn't be that problematic) and put that on T.V. and i-tunes (listed as the T.V. version) and have the original with the unaltered voice also avalible on i-tunes and labled as the directors cut or perhaps 20% Derpier version, then everyone's happy
  8. Are there any stables near your town? You could go to one and film one of the Ponies there and then drop them into an episode
  9. I think if they did something related to death it would probably be mentioning one that happened off screen, possibly before the events of the series itself, they'd probably handle it the way they did in Lilo and Stitch
  10. I always thought it looked more like a contortionist personally
  11. About 165 cm or 5 feet 6 inches....oddly I'm shorter than both of my parents (well, only slightly shorter than my mother, but still, it's strange considering my last name is from the Dutch words for "The Tall")
  12. Hmm, perhaps Ember, it would be adorable to see the Cutie Mark Crusaders interacting with the original Cutie Mark Crusader Seeing the Mane 6 interact with their G1 counterparts would be good too though, or some of the better known ones would be neat too Shadey (if for no other reson than to see her and Pinkie Pie interact), Gusty, Heart Throb (though there is already a back ground Pony the resembles her), Galaxy, Wind Whistler (can you imagine her and Twilight having a conversation?)....there are a lot of G1 Ponies that would be interesting to see touched up as G4 characters I'm ambidextrous I needed reading glasses when I was 7 (Without them I literally had to hold something at arms leignth to read it properly) For 2 years around the time I was 14 I had frequent sleep paralysis Would you rather be a Unicorn, Pegasus or Earth Pony?
  13. Actually I could see that, perhaps as a matchmaking thing I personally don't mind valentines day, my parents don't really celebrate it and I've benn home schooled for most of my life so for me it's mostly watching Valentines specials and enjoying cute pictures of characters with hearts and candy. Though last year one of my male friends and I were each other's date for the day....Tell me boys if a girl your age did that would you end up dating a girl several years older than you without at least checking to make sure the girl your age wasn't already in love with you? (and no matter with one is younger and which one is older 5 years does seem like a big age gap to me) But I really don't understand mother's day and father's day, my family hasn't done anything for it since I was a little Filly and even then I'd make a card for them and that's it (also we've seen people who use it to basically stay in their parent's good graces so that cheapened it a bit). The other one is Thanksgiving when you know what really happened it's a bit....disturbing....after all we don't have a holiday celebrating any other case of genocide (and it's really akward when your father's ancesstors literally helped sign the death warrent for part of your mother's family....my mother's French Canadian)
  14. Does anypony have an episode that they react to in a different way from what you would usually expect? One that most Ponies like that you didn't really enjoy or an unpopular episode that you loved or anything like that? For Me.... It took a while for me to really enjoy Winter Wrap-up, it's a nice episode but the first time I watched it I didn't find it as appealing as some of the other ones I had recently watched I actually really enjoyed the Mare Do Well episode, for me it gave Rainbow Dash a lot of charm. I know, a lot of Ponies found her braggart behaviour irratating, but I kind of like when a character has a bit of an ego, provided it's done the right way, and if it turns out that they aren't as confident as they act it can give them a lot of appeal (for me anyway). True she went through something simlar in Sonic Rainboom, but that didn't have the same sort of impact for me (maybe because it looked more like performance anxiety to me than having a fragile ego) Green Isn't Your Colour makes me tear up a bit, it's explained in the topic on how you found the series....I'd rather not type it up again....
  15. That would make sense, or they were able to fix it off screen (which is just as well, can you imagine if they had an episode about her getting hip surgery?)
  16. Ooh! I see a couple of back ground Ponies too! I wonder if the ones of the Mane 6 will also be more accurate (or at least have correctly coloured hair and their Cutie Marks on both sides instead of just the one the customer sees)
  17. This one too, but for me it's until they're fully toilet trained. I can't stand when people try to hand their children to me, if they ask if I want to hold them I usually only hold them for a few seconds so I can explain that I don't feel comfortable doing it without seeming rude and oh the horror if they leave them with me for a few minutes (there was one inccident a few months ago where my mom's student brought her two and a half year old and set him down on the sofa I was sitting on....It was interesting to say the least....Thank You My Little Pony for saving me from a really uncomfortable 5 minutes) And my blanket rule is under no circumstance will I baby sit anything under the age of 4 (3 if there's someone to handle anything disgusting they might do) they have to be fully toilet trained, able to wash their hands properly and everything and long enough that there's a low chance of them having an accident The worst part is I'm reasonably alright in terms of handling them, it would be much easier if I were that one girl who's bad with small children and babies, normally they can sense if you're nervous or upset too but for some reason they completely ignore it when it's me. But I'm fine with actual children, especially if they're more intelligent than average The strange thing is that I find babies of other animals cute and the same applies to baby versions of T.V. characters (actually that's what the most popular picture in my deviant art gallery is)
  18. You could always get a restraining order if you're worried.... It depends on the nature of the harassment but sometimes what appears to be simple harassment turns out to be boarderline personality disorder which makes that person extremely dangerous
  19. It's alright for me to put my two bits in even though I haven't signed up to roleplay yet, right? Either way, I'd like to think that horns do grow back like any other bone, especially since that part at the beginning of "Green is not your Colour" has Rarity getting her horn filed the way you would with your finger nails which does imply that it grows through-out the Unicorn's life. Perhaps the way it works is that if it cracks or breaks off that it weakens the Unicorn's magical ability until it grows back and that it would take longer to heal than, for example, a broken leg (perhaps having the crack bandaged or the attatched part sanded into a smoother shape helps to speed healing and/or bring their magic a bit closer to what it normally is and maybe several times what it takes for regular bones) Of course one question is does a Unicorn's horn actually do magic or is it meant to focus magic? Because it does end in a sort of point and it is where the third eye is supposed to be on humans so it could be for focusing magic rather than generating it....Sorry if I'm going a bit off topic but it's interesting to think about

  21. They could always remake "Escape From Katrina"....Well think about it, Katrina was using slave labour to power a machine to maintain her addiction to a potion that made her powerful but had a negative impact on her personality (and for those who have seen the piece from CR, there actually was a song about how Katrina used to be, unfortunately it wasn't included in most releases but the full version is on youtube) and once she stopped taking the potion she lost the extrapower it gave her but she returned to her old self Hmm, well as for Ashton's idea of Rainbow Dash hearing about something that could improve her performance could be handled well if it's a spell or potion that would increase her speed/energy for a time but then deciding against it after hearing that it can have negative side effects and deciding that it wouldn't be the same if she didn't win on her own. Then during the competition there could be somepony that she's really been worried about facing that turns out to have been using the spell/potion/whatever it is and it wears off too quickly and it turns out that it causes you to be exhaused after it wears off because you use a huge amount of energy in a short period of time Actually Dinosaurs had two anti-drug episodes, one where Robby tried taking the equivilent of steroids because he thought a girl would be interested in him if her were muscular but it caused him to be a jerk and grow thorns (until his friend stopped him taking then and the effects wore off). The other had a plant that initially caused the consumer to be giddy, but then had negative side effects (actually if they had an anti-drug episode like that it would be hilarious, I'd love to see two characters singing and dancing a parody of "Most Unususal Day" and at the end Pinkie could break the forth wall and tell people that they shouldn't take drugs because they lead to preachy T.V. specials like the one they just acted in) I have the first half of the series on DVD, they actually handled it in a really fun way and commented in the end on how other shows aren't always as lucky as they were making this episode (It's on youtube and the episode is called "A New Leaf") For alchohol one really good idea would probably only be done as a fan-made work with several characters doing an intervention for Berry Punch Another one that could be good is an energy drink comes out (or Twilight discovers a formula) that increases energy and focus, but one pony dosen't try it and finds out that it has side effects perhaps making the consumer's behaviour the opposite of what it usually is (not the way they did in "Return Of Harmony" more Fluttershy enjoying attention, Pinkie Pie being lethargic, Rarity having some sort messy hobby or being really relaxed, Rainbow Dash being neurotic, Applejack being a germaphobe, Twilight having trouble focusing, of course they probably wouldn't all be effected at once) then after the effects have been discovered which ever characters are unaffected or brought out of the effect work together to gather and dispose of all the bottles of the drink and create an antidote to instantly return the drinker to normal. Meanwhile the entire town is going through withdrawl and has formed a mob to get the energy drink they're then tricked into drinking the antidote and everything returns to normal
  22. Should I?....It's too easy....Oh why not? I'm sorry but it just had to be said Still, the episode is a good candidate to have Smile in it
