Firefly (and the movie) was simply fantastic. My main regret for the shows cancellation would be how certain antagonists were clearly meant to be reoccurring characters, and as such never really got as large a limelight as they deserved. For example, I believe I recall reading somewhere that the alliance officer from the episode "message" was supposed to be a reoccurring character. Despite that, they still had terrific characters who were all well developed, as well as some truly, truly unnerving villains. I still remember cringing at those agents with the blue gloves. Creepy.

Keystone suppressed a small chuckle as he grinned at the pegasus' reply. Apparently, he noted, the poor stallion startled rather easily. He continued watching as his new acquaintance promptly crumpled under the weight of his bags. Keystone even winced a little a that one, did not look fun. But, the matter at hand was more pressing. He gave the pegasus a brief look-over, deciding he still looked a little young. Probably from a farm, too, what with the 'howdy' and everything. Not wasting much time, he spoke up. "I hate to presume, but you look like you could use a little help." Without waiting for an answer, his blinked a few times in concentration as again his horn illuminated. This time, the bag was enveloped in the gray aura, and was lifted up a little and over a little, until it came to a rest by the pegasus' feet. Keystone offered a friendly smile before continuing, "Annnd that should fix your gravity problem for now. Maybe you should pack a little lighter next time." He chuckled a little, despite his earlier attempt not too, before dawning on the realization that he had not introduced himself yet. "Oh, forgive my manners. My name's Keystone. I don't mean to intrude, but the middle of a field is hardly a place to mope. I don't suppose you're alright, are you?" Inwardly, Keystone mused a few thoughts. He was being uncharacteristically talkative right now. Why, he even got a few sentences in a row! Not often that happened. He also might have made a decision to sit down, had he had any inclination to mess up his coat. He did not, so he remained standing. He had no need to look professional at the moment, but practice never hurts.

Keystone nodded as he listened. An author, that certainly explained the pegasus'- Ms. Rainmaker's, as it were - cutie mark. Then again, a winged book couldn't mean much else. He did find himself a tad put out that she wasn't from around the area, what with his lack of knowledge regarding the layout. Still, she still might know one or two things. She certainly seemed an expert on stairs, anyway. He also noted that she hailed from Cloudsdale, a city which he would personally give a hind leg to go visit. Shame that such a visit would probably end with a decent amount of plummeting, but he that was neither here nor there. What was present was the question Rain Maker had asked. [colour=#ff0000]Shaking the hoof, he happily replied "Pleasure to meet 'cha, Ms. Rain Maker! Name's Keystone, and no, sadly I'm not a local. Shock, ain't it? I'm from all the down in Manehatten. Well, I was. I'm an architect by trade, see, and a lot of towns have need of new buildings. I've been around the map a few times."[/colour] He smiled with the expertise of someone who planned a day-to-day introduction before adding [colour=#ff0000]"Gawking simply happens to be a hobby."[/colour] Then, to his surprise, he saw another figure approach in his peripheral. Turning his head, he saw a red stallion approach. Keystone heard something about a shop, but he figured the unicorn was talking to himself. Hmm... another red unicorn. Why, if he knew that it was a trend, he mused, he would have grabbed a blue coat! Luckily he still had that hat he picked up from earlier. Anyways, he turned to the stallion walking towards the pair and spoke. [colour=#ff0000]"Errm... Hello?"[/colour]

Keystone blinked for a second as he registered the voice that most decidedly was not his thought process. Then he noticed the pegasus standing fairly nearby. He also noticed the grin, and decided she probably wasn't serious. Probably. He shared the smile for a second, as he thought of a few options he could use as a retort before deciding on one. "Two bits?" he raise an eyebrow, "Why, for two bits I'd fall down and back up! He then took the opportunity to assess his adoring crowd. Definitely a mare, and definitely blue. That much was obvious. A shame he wasn't more of a detective, otherwise he could probably deduce a bit more than the obvious. Well, that wasn't quite true. Now that he thought about it, her comment didn't seem like something coming out of your stereotypical Canterlot elite. So, having assumed the pegasus was a local, he figured he had been tragically misinformed about the Canterlot populace. Well, that or she was visiting too. Keystone reckoned he had a fifty-fifty shot, but he'd put his money on both, to be safe. With that knowledge safely concluded, he continued on talking. [colour=#ff0000]"So, I assume you're not here for the stairs, what with the wings and everything. I don't suppose you're from around here, are you?"[/colour] He asked in an inquisitive tone, though he still had the slight grin. Hadn't really vanished from the previous one, despite a fair bit of thinking. He might as well attempt to start a conversation. He probably needed directions, anyhow.

Keystone trotted down the road leaving Manehatten with a rather content look. It was always nice to visit the city. Not much had canged since his last visit, though, and despite it all he remembered why he went traveling in the first place: to see new sights. Not that he didn't enjoy Manehatten, though, the grandeur of the city never ceased to amaze the velvet coloured unicorn. Indeed, there seemed to be a building for every colour of the rainbow, and every hue in between. Why, he even remembered where his favorite hat shop was! Every proper aspiring gentle-stallion should have a decent hat worth his salt, Keystone always said! Well, maybe less 'always said' and more 'just thought about it'. The important thing was he had bought a hat, and that was alright. As the road carried on, the height of the the buildings gradually declined and became increasingly sparser in terms of space taken. A shame that such a city couldn't stretch out forever, with such amazing buildings, but there were pros to the countryside. For example, there was already noticeably less hustle and bustle as he went a long. Other ponies are nice, but crowds can get overstimulating rather quickly. Especially when you want to stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk to look at a particularly well-done layout of a building. Other ponies tend to get cross at that. But, it probably was better to think less about the city and more about the road ahe- *thwack* Keystone stopped, both in means of motion and thought, as a piece of paper hit him square in the face. Keystone paused for a good second as the paper hung there, almost denying the rather considerable breeze altogether just to hang on his face for comedic purposes. It didn't last though, and a moment later it slid off. Turning around, Keystone raised an eyebrow at the paper currently lazily drifting down the road. Eventually, a slight chuckle broke free from the stallion, and a gray nimbus of light surrounded both the paper and his horn (he had already removed his hat and was currently holding it in a raised hoof). [colour=#ff0000]"No no no. No escape for you, after all the trouble you went through just to get my attention, Mr. Paper."[/colour] In a rather brief show of magical competence, the paper hesitated for less than a second against the breeze before retreating backwards as if it shifted gears to reverse. With a brief nod of concentration, the paper had politely tucked itself into the saddlebag currently draped over the stallion's back. He knew Manehatten already had a slight litter problem. Why contribute? He'd just hold on to the thing until he came across the proper waste reciprocal, or whatever ponies called it. The important thing was, he could move forward with a clean conscience. He didn't get that far before he noticed a blue pegasus (at least, he thought he saw a glimpse of a feather under its bag) sitting off a distance from the road. Curious, he trotted towards the figure. Upon further inspection, Keystone decided he wasn't really sitting, but rather existing in a state of either moping, accepting defeat, or some combination of the two. Deciding to try and make sense of this, Keystone thought of a few things to say to make his presence known. He settled on the simplest one. [colour=#ff0000]"Hello!"[/colour]

Sounds very much like a plan! And yeah, near or around the city would work perfectly well.

Well, hey, I'd be happy to oblige here, seeing as I need to get into the RPing more myself. Actually, Keystone (Keystone being the name of my OC) is a traveler with roots in Manehatten, so a meeting between the two would be the opposite of far-fetched. That could work nicely, actually.

But I digress, seeing as how my main point is explaining just how to get others to see what I am saying, so that what I say makes sense enough to be able to explain my sayings to others for their ability to relay my sayings into their sayings so they can get others to say what I am saying, if you know what I'm saying. Well, although I see where you're coming from and too a certain degree I can agree with your opinion, I must admit that I don't believe that because a particular pony is the element of [any of the five besides magic, because magic arguably isn't a personality trait] that they have always perfectly embody that element. For example, Rarity certainly skipped out on the generosity when she picked high society over finishing Twi's dress, Fluttershy can be incredibly mean from time to time (You laugh at me? I'll wrath at you!), and Pinky even has an entirely different hairstyle to show when she's in anything but a laughing mood. It would make sense if each pony had to struggle with inner vices to maintain their particular element and therefore when they do act in accordance with their established role, For example, although AJ may lie from time to time, when she does act with honesty she shows it perhaps even more so than the other five. But, you know, that's just my take. Anyways, to reply to the original post: To be perfectly honest, I really don't enjoy Trixie that much. Really, I just have a problem with third person speak from anybody other than Gollum. I also wish I had more of a respect for Pinkie Pie in general, but again, that's just a personal issue with accepted irrationality. Oh, and I find her a tad shallow from time to time, mainly from the sheer duality and extremities of her personality. There's never really a middle ground with Pinkie, and I appreciate the middle ground a bit more than I should. Wow, that was a tad more verbose than I intended it too be.
