McDerp, thanks so much for this amazing gift art! The armor detail and shine are stunning, and I absolutely adore the overly dramatic billowing of his tail and ribbon. Plus dat wing flare~ Dawnguard is totally ready to add his portrait to his myriad of in-the-works epics and ballads, for all future generations to stand in awe of!

Absolutely love the shading on this one McDerp - the transition of fur to snout is spot on, and the fur along the neck is gorgeous. It's like, I can literally see the lines of highlights you used all along the fur, but it gives off such a finished and polished look. And those antlers, of my! The look downright scary, like claws reaching outwards to grab at something...

I went ahead and edited it anyways, because a character's species is kind of an important detail to take note of. Changed the tail and muzzle to make them look more 'zebra' like!

Is she?! Oh man, I'm sorry - I referenced our conversation over Skype when you first sent me the request, and you said she was acrobatic, "as much as a pony/zebra can be acrobatic". So I guess I took that to mean she was a zony. My bad! I can fix it if you'd like, that's a pretty egregious error on my part. 

And thank you guys, for the kind words! Usually I honestly don't mind it, but for some reason that day it just got to me. Thanks for the reassurances and support, really means a lot to me!

The coloring on this is stunning.

I love how the overall effect is a deep blue, but then you have the highlights of purple and some pink and aquas and just...just....

I really like this color scheme, for some reason. I think because of the gradient on his hair, going from deep blue into teals and yellows. Nice drawing!

What Bellosh said! Some Qilin in art are depicted with their entire bodies covered with scales (because I think they're actually suppose to be more like horse-shaped dragons rather than dragon-horse hybrids), but when I designed Mei I decided to go with fur and some scattered scales, because I thought that'd fit better with the MLP universe. 

Guh-huh-huh-huh. That sky is beautiful, I can't stop staring at the shine in the lower right corner. Really gives off a great vibe of a setting sun (maybe rising, but it looks like it's setting to me~) And for a first time with CG armor, I think it turned out really nicely. They're difficult to see in the default view, but full view really shows off all the details of the whorl and swirl designs on the armor. 

(Also really like that symbol he has draped over his back. Is that a stylized yin and yang symbol?)

Ooh, I love the purple and blue hues on the larger dragon, they meld together so beautifully! And as always, shiny~ 

*deep inhale*

How do you make your stuff so shiny, it's ridiculous. Like, if Raff's eyes were any brighter and cuter, he'd probably sear a hole straight through my screen. And, I would be a-okay with that. 

aklsdhbflsdf thanks so much for the gift art, McDerp! Your technique has gotten so good it's ridiculous, especially when I look back on your older pictures to see the progress from just a year ago. I still remember that Inkbrand drawing you did for me when you were first starting to experiment with soft shading, and now look at this. His snout, his paws, the fluff on his tail - it's all perfect. I wish I could write down all my thoughts in a coherent manner, but honestly, my brain is kind of a puddle of goo at the moment, so I'm slowly lozing teh abilie to th1nzk fleekjfs en. 

Any love of ponies I have, and horses in general, can be traced straight back to this movie...

I have to say, the shading really brings an extra edge into this artwork Lux. The shadows are much darker and more defined than in other pictures, and they really add another dimension to it. Awesome work!

D'aaaaw, these human chibis are adorable. I love this simplistic vector style you've got. I'll definitely have to stalk any request thread you put up.

Surprised no one has commented on these yet. You have a really nice eye for detail, and the shading on the armor and clothing looks really good. Awesome stuff!

Giving each character at least two pieces of reference art and prettying up their character logs makes me feel like I'm giving each and every one of them attention and development and totally not creating OCs just to completely ignore them in favor of new OCs lulz.

Can I just say I love the scarf? I usually don't like rainbow color schemes, but the combination of hues in that scarf is such a cool rainbow color scheme without being a basic ROY.G.BIV color scheme. And her hair is so curly with just a bit of poof to it!

Such a pretty design...maybe they're common off-site, but I know that I personally don't see a lot of OCs that have natural patterns on their coat, and the ones I do see are usually overblown or completely ridiculous. But the pattern on this mare is lovely. Did you style her after a specific breed of horse (like a dapple grey, maybe?)

That might be a good name for her, Dapple or Speckle or something to that nature. I hope to see her app - any pony that's even remotely connected to Momo is sure to be a good'n. 

Seriously McDerp. At some point you need to release a tutorial to explain your shading and lighting techniques. Or even just a "Watch Me" type deal where you speed through your drawing, because I just can't get over how vibrant your pictures are. The shine on his hair and tail, in particular, are just...

I wouldn't exactly call their relationship stable - they've both acknowledged that it's strictly casual, and are actually in a thread together discussing whether or not it's time to break things off - but that's why I like their relationship a lot. It's not "YOU'RE MY SOULMATE 4EVA", more "hey I like you let's kiss 'n stuff and see what happens"~
