I'm curious about your fave music

Thanks! I'm really all over the place with musical genres so this list is barely scratching the surface. I might edit my list sooner or later.

You can tell that I like a certain type of music listening to the linked songs, mostly rock and metal :20:

That's part of the problem. I don't actually know what song it is. If I find it, i'll point him out.

Okay dokay - I like saying that

Pendulum has to be one of my favorite bands. I also like skrillx.

Also, anyone here ever heard of MC Frontalot? Schafer the Darklord? Beefy? YTKracker? Random? Adam Warrock? Dual Core? MC Chris? MC Lars?

I freakin' love nerdcore hip-hop.

I haven't heard of any of them though, Pendulum sounds familiar...

I like all sorts of music as long as it's done well.

But for favorite form of music all together? I'm into that has an awesome drop to it.

Stuff like "Break it" From Balloon Party, and a little bit of Skrillex and DeadMau5 here and there :)

Do you like any of the linked songs then?

I'm on a huge electro swing kick.

I like a lot of stuff though. Anything that isn't screaming, whale noises, static, the screams of asylum patients or gangsta rap. Dubstep is meh for me, just because it's easy to make and so easy to balls up.

I only like one band that does screamo - they don't to much screamo compared to some other bands though, I usually really hate screamo band though.

Whoa I somehow missed Seether on my list of everybody! I'm adding a song or two now (to my list, not the one I posted on the first page).

Songs this month that I have liked since I was a kid but have become very heavy rotation lately.

  • Armenia City In the Sky - The Who
  • Jailbreak - Thin Lizzy (almost always will be on the list)
  • Wasted Years - Iron Maiden
  • Jump into the Fire - Nilsson
  • Action - The Sweet

For the most part I am on a NWOBHM and glam rock kick lately. it happens around this time of year often, actually, probably because when I was a kid I got records usually November-December (For my birthday, Christmas and Valentine's day, which I call VanHalentine's day due to the fact that my mum used to buy me hair metal records every year) and spend a lot of time at my grandparents' house where my uncle's bedroom was a veritable SHRINE to Iron Maiden.

We should do a thread

Totally off topic and I can move it elsewhere, but we should do a thread where everyone tells their least favorite genres and others try to change their minds with exemplary examples.

DO IT!

I would love to hear what people think are the stellar examples of country songs. Especially modern stuff since I already know that guys like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash are exceptions.

Done! Let's move this convo elsewhere :)

5.

- The Strokes

I have to point out my favorite Strokes video (Vevo copy)

And now 5 of my favorite songs by Guided by Voices, the band that they are playing Family Feud against in said video, including the Strokes' cover of one of them. GBV is definitely the band I own the most music by (something crazy like 36 solid hours, no repeats), and have seen the most (9 or 10 times)

yeah, most of the songs are about a minute long. That's just how Bob Pollard rolls.

A Salty Salute - Strokes cover

A Salty Salute Original

The Tumblers

Wire Greyhounds

Pendulum

Echoes Myron
