Apple Bloom was a little overwhelmed with happiness by the sheer number of ponies who were coming to her birthday. Due to an earlier, uhh, incident or series of, she couldn't quite remember who exactly had been invited. She probably invited everypony, counting on a few no-shows. But when Silver Spoon sauntered in through the mess of a barn that was her party central, Apple Bloom just assumed that one of her planned no-shows had showed. She trotted up to Apple Bloom and immediately hoofed over her gift, which felt light enough. Then Applejack took it, which was just as well for Apple Bloom- her hooves had a lot of frosting on them and she was sure that it would make the gift even better.

"Thanks Silver Spoon! Welcome ta mah party!" Apple Bloom offered with a smile and wave just as Applejack tore the attention away. She was right, of course- presents needed to be opened and she needed to start the second, more sober round of present-opening off right with her very best friend.

"Yer right, Applejack! Ah'll open up yer present naw, Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom yammered excitedly, hopping about towards the back after giving Sweetie Belle a friendly wave to follow. There were a lot of presents in the back, each one holding something special for the day's special little filly, but it didn't take too long for Apple Bloom to find the one with Sweetie Belle's distinctive hoofwriting. She took it by the string in her mouth and leapt back out of the back with it in tow.

"Sish ish it!"

Sweetie Belle

Sweetie Belle leaned forward with excitement plain upon her little face as Apple Bloom moved to open up her birthday present! "Oooo, oooo, oooo!" she cried, bouncing up and down excitedly on stiff little legs as she waited for Apple Bloom to finish opening up the gorgeously wrapped gift! Within the box was a gorgeous apple-themed western sort of a dress, a match for the sorts of outfits that Rarity usually made for Applejack. "That one's kinda from Rarity cause she made it for me to give to you, but look under it!" she said excitedly!

And under the dress was found a small, cheap compass, idly wavering back and forth from all the movements. "I got it for you cause of what happened to your old compass after ... um ... when we failed to get our magnet cutie marks." Sweetie Belle shuddered. "So much tree sap and pine needles ..."

Purple Haze

Purple nodded firmly as Guiding Light seemed to realize he'd done something wrong, and was about to accept his help when Cheerilee got hit with that flash of light. "Oh no!" she cried out, chasing over to Cheerilee along with Guiding Light, leaving her cake entirely unguarded. "Give her some room! Give her some air!" She watched worriedly as Cheerilee seemed to be all right... but was she really? "How many hooves am Oi holdin' up, then?" she asked, waving her legs above her head like wet noodles!

Rainbow Dash

Dash let out an *oh*, and laughed a little. "You're a hoot, Carrot Fields! Always using silly words like that about me!" She looked back at the brown sugar, and gave a shrug. If Carrot said it would work just fine! She struggled with the bag, pinning it to the counter and pulling at the bag with her teeth, straining a bit till suddenly it burst open and she stumbled backwards, a cloud of brown sugar floating towards her and her gorgeous gown ...

With a small huff Silver sat at the table and patiently waited for Apple Bloom to open the presents. Strangely she was actually interested in what the gifts were. Not that they were as good as hers was but that would be like totally impossible. It also wasn't like Silver had ever wanted to actually make Apple Bloom happy and smile, it just happened to be a nice coincidence and would be tolerable for now since it was of course Apple Blooms birthday and all had to go right on one's birthday right?

"That's fine, I can wait. It's quite enjoyable to see you tear the boxes open like a savage pony. But I can't say that the wrappers did much then attempt to cover the box. What a shame." Silver always liked it when to unwrap her presents there was a little puzzle to finish to even get to it. Added a whole other flair to the whole gift giving thing.

"Oh don't get too hard on yourself Sweetie Belle at least you tried and that's more then most ponies. Just think of it as one more thing you don't have a cutie mark for. And one less thing you have to worry about having a cutie mark for." Silver rarely spoke so softly to the cutie mark crusaders but they were giving her free food and some entertainment so she felt obligated to at least not be as harsh as Diamond Tiara was.

Apple Bloom didn't waste another moment as she attacked the wrapping of the gift like a savage animal, sending wrapping paper remains fluttering about the room. The box was taped but tape was barely even an obstacle to her; she tore the box open too, revealing the beautiful dress inside. She gasped! It was so pretty, a lot like her big sister's but unique in it's own way. Apple Bloom had a collection of outfits but none of them were close to being as beautiful as this dress. Apple Bloom could only guess how long it took to make such a beautiful dress and the fact that it was like her big sister's only made it even more awesome! Apple Bloom would look like a right fancy big pony now, thanks to the efforts of a proper fancy mare!

"My gosh, it's so pretty! THANK YOU, RARITY!" Apple Bloom bellowed out, hopefully attracting the fashionista's attention from the kitchen, her mind catching onto Sweetie's order quickly and looking under the dress. She immediately smiled wide, the wobbly compass an immediate eye catcher for her. It was a very meaningful gift, even if a bit silly. The incident had been rotten at the time but time made her fonder of certain failures and while every day without a cutie mark was a drag some days had bright spots that she simply couldn't ignore. The tree sap had made the needles stick to their coat and each other, the explosive force of three fillies colliding into an old tree proving too much. An old compass she had found when she was a filly was destroyed in the impact, but it was a crockity old thing anyway that hardly worked and was probably to blame for the whole mess. Sweetie's gift was much better.

"Sweetie Belle, what a thing to get! Yer tha best!"

Of course Silver Spoon would poo poo on the whole gift in her passive-aggressive manner, but she hadn't expected any better from the more subtly evil one of the terrible two. What could you expect from her, other than Silver Spoon being Silver Spoon? Apple Bloom wouldn't make a big deal out of it though, no more drama at her awesome birthday today.

"Well Silver Spoon, Ah think Sweetie's gift was just 'bout perfect. Thanks, Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom gave her fellow crusader a hug and friendly peck on the forehead next to the horn before turning her attention, and best side, to Silver Spoon.

"Well, Ah'm sure yer present is pretty swell, so how 'bout we open yers next?"

"Awwww, well, Y'know. Anything for my friends!"

Rarity smiled at the sentiment. "Anything for her friends." Of course, this was just how Dash was. She was the element of loyalty after all. It was the core of who she was just as much as it was Rarity's nature to lend a hoof to those who needed it and try and please every customer fully. All the same, the sentiment was warming. Dash was remarkable really. She really was the sort of pony who one could count on to always be there to catch them when they happened to fall. Rarity would always admire that quality.

Returning to the kitchen, the two found Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie. She had learned long ago that questioning the pink mare's antics rarely lead anywhere. If pinkie wanted to squeeze eggs out of chickens or crush up eggshells that was her prerogative. As the chickens bawked and blustered about the messy room, she just hoped that she didn't end up a mess yet again as a result. She was sure with Pinkie it would just make the finished product better. Pinkie's culinary skill was first rate after all; she had picked up so much in her time working for the Cakes. Most of Rarity's friends were fairly competent in the kitchen though. She herself was skillful enough and Applejack was a master at her somewhat rustic but tasty Apple sweets. Fluttershy had to regularly prepare food for all her animals which gave her practice, and while Rarity wasn't sure Twilight had much experience she was sure that meticulous mare would be able to follow a recipe. That just left one pony...

"Frosting, eh? Sure thing! Let's make some frosting! ... How do you make frosting? Ah! Butter, powdered sugar ... that's silly, isn't all sugar a powder? And milk... that's a lotta sugar for only a little butter and milk! Huh. That's gotta be a typo... Ah, found the sugar! Hey, weird, their sugar is *brown*! does that mean it went bad?"

Rarity hadn't actually ever seen Dash try and make food before, but she'd always assumed the sporty mare would be some manner of clueless. Watching her fumble about was kind of fun in a way, though she didn't want to see Dash ruin anything. It was probably for the best that she intervened.

"Substituting brown sugar for powdered sugar might perhaps work... but really Rainbow you should try and keep the proportions about the same, otherwise it might not turn out quite right..." she cautioned the mare, stepping toward her.

“Wow, ye look gorgeous ... Er, I mean... confused! Aye, th' sugar! Yeah, broon, it is actually supposed tae be broon. heh, its a special type ay sugar, it is fine, troost me! It will wark!”

"You're a hoot, Carrot Fields! Always using silly words like that about me!"

Rarity watched as Dash fought with the bag of brown sugar and responded to Carrot, who seemed rightfully impressed with Dash's lovely appearance. "Gorgeous" really was a good word. Rainbows colours made her naturally striking, but with her flowing dress and mane she looked ever the more so. Rarity really did need to convince Dash to model for her more often. Pretty things looked so nice on her.

Unfortunately, Rarity wasn't permitted to dwell on such things much longer. Dash was struggling with the bag of sugar and Rarity could tell ahead of time that the result wasn't going to be pretty. There wasn't enough time to prevent Dash from making that final tug to tear the bag open, but there was enough time to step right in the way. Right as the bag ripped open and a cloud of the brown sugar left it, Rarity stepped ahead allowing the sugar to hit her coat instead.

"Come now, Rainbow. We don't want you making a mess of that fabulous gown of yours already..." Rarity said with a nod as she started to brush the sugar off her coat.

"My gosh, it's so pretty! THANK YOU, RARITY!"

It was about then that the call came from the other room. It seemed the birthday filly had just opened Rarity's present to her. The mare rushed over without even thinking otherwise. This was Apple Bloom's party after all. Though her coat still had a few splotches of brown sugar along the front, she emerged to find Apple Bloom holding up the dress she had made for her. Rarity smiled.

"I'm so glad you like it, Apple Bloom. I can't wait to see you wear it," she said, offering a smile.

Guiding Light felt a little relief that Cheerilee was so kind to the fact of being near blinded. There were times that he was in control of his magic while other times not. Thankfully he knew that no pony could get severely injured from his light magic, well, except when they get blinded and trip over something or hit a wall.

The unicorn's feelings of relief gave way as Purple Haze suddenly rushed to Miss Cheerilee's aid.

"Um... Purple Haze? I think Mis Cheerilee is ok. Where's the cake you were guarding?"

Cheerilee

Cheerilee gave a warm, reassuring smile to Purple Haze and she ruffled the green coated earth filly's mane, "I am perfectly fine, honest! It was just a little harmless light, nothing I haven't dealt with before during class." It was flattering her students cared so much about her outside the school environment; in Cheerilee's mind it only confirmed once again that she really was doing for a living was not only her destiny, but her greatest joy.

Still there was one problem, Cheerilee's present to Applebloom. The gift itself was nice, a professional crafted compass with beautifully etched letters for the directions, and most importantly, built sturdy for use by outdoors adventurer ponies, or in this case, a trio of rambunctious foals. Of course the problem was that Abby just got a compass, so now it just felt silly, and a little embarrassing, to give the farmer filly the same kind of present.

All of that was moot though if Cheerilee couldn't find the darn thing! "Purple Haze, Guiding Light, would you two be dears and help ol' Cheerilee in finding her present for the birthday filly?" Cheerilee held her forehooves about two hooves apart, "it is a box about this wide, wrapped, with a red bow." Hopefully it can be found among the mess, at least before it got crushed, smashed, or otherwise wrecked in the general anarchy which described this party thus far.

Carrot Fields

Carrot Fields could only watch wide eyed in apparent shock as Dash ripped the bag of brown sugar open, creating a large cloud of auburn dust that rapidly expanded in every direction. Fortunately for Dash, not a grain fell on her as her messy white unicorn friend jumped in front and took the brunt of the sweet smelling cloud instead. "Hoa, 'at was close Dash! almost ruined yer fancy frock! Stoatin' save that, miss, ummm… Ah am sorry Ah forgot yer nam! But ye gotta appreciate a gal wot dinnae mind gettin' dirty!"

Carrot took the opened bag and dumped what was left of it's contents into the mixing bowl. He wasn't sure if the mix even called for brown sugar, but he saw his sister use it all the time. Besides, how could it be anything but helpful given that Pinkie willing to toss in whole eggs and wanted to add in coffee of all things!

If he was really lucky, maybe Pinkie would think the brown sugar was the coffee, both the same colour right? She seemed so out on left field that perhaps that was enough similarity to trick her and keep the foals from caffeine induced hyperactivity. It wasn't much of a plan, but it was all the gray stallion had. Carrot just smiled broadly, trying to look innocent, "that'll dae it! whit noo? mixin' it aw?"

Ingrid Marie breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that her fellow education still remained safe and sound. However, the earth pony’s present for Apple Bloom unfortunately vanished somewhere, and so it was up to Ingrid and the other little ones to find it. Going by Cheerilee’s description, it shouldn’t be too hard to find. The wrapped gift couldn’t have traveled far from where the school teacher fell, or so the beige unicorn reckoned.

And sure enough, Ms. Marie spied a small wrapped object with a red bow on the floor, hidden under a coffee cake slice not far from Strudel’s cart. Ingrid’s first instinct was to go fetch it right then, but then she thought... maybe the kids should get the honor of finding it instead? A small smirk on her face, the magic counselor turned towards the little colt skilled in light magic and subtly advised; “Just wondering; did anypony look for the present over by the coffee cake mess yet?”

Silver Spoon huffed and blew her bangs out of her face as she turned and looked at Apple Bloom.

"It is your birthday, you should be picking what gifts you want to open and in what order. I'd rather not have mine outshine any others so if you want to open mine soon so that you only have to look forward to those who are closer to you then yes be my guest." Silver added a small wink in at the end of her words not sure why just feeling like a thing to do. Lesser ponies did that right? They winked at each other? Now all SS could think about was being behind the times. With a grand flair Silver stood up and trotted over to Apple Bloom and gently but convincingly took the gift box back from Apple Jack and placed it in front of Apple Bloom. With a narrowed gaze she turned to Apple Jack before flourishing her face into a bright and peaceful smile. She really was trying to be on her best behavior but she couldn't be responsible if her more...normal side got a hold of her.

"Happy Birthday Apple Bloom." She smiled a bit at Apple Bloom as she spun the box around the proper way and began to give very detailed instructions on how to open the box so that the paper wouldn't be damaged and she could even hang it up on her wall and make a collage of it so she wouldn't forget today.

Silver Spoon sure was full of confidence that her gift was going to blow the little Apple filly's mind, but Apple Bloom had her suspicions that it was a little overblown. Still, at least Silver Spoon seemed sincere in believing whatever gift she qa giving was great, which meant if nothing else this wasn't just some elaborate ploy to pull a trick on Apple Bloom. You couldn't trust Silver Spoon or her friend Diamond Tiara- they were rotten, mean ponies with manure in place of honest emotions. But they were still just like Apple Bloom fillies, and fillies could change and while Apple Bloom wasn't about ready to trust Silver Spoon, she'd believe in the prissy pony's ability to change until that too was swept away.

"Well, Ah guess Ah'll just hafta take that chance," Apple Bloom smiled, keeping it on even when Silver Spoon yanked the gift away from her big sis. Well, it WAS Silver Spoon's gift to Apple Bloom, so she supposed that certain rights were still Spoon's. In any case the gift soon came to Apple Bloom, and with it a slew of instructions that passed in one air and out the other with little more than a cursory acknowledgement that didn't impact Apple Bloom's decisionmaking in any way. After a brief moment, Apple Bloom slowly and carefully got the bow off- a very pretty pink bow- and then set upon the wrapping and box like a savage Everfree beast seeing meat for the first time in months. It wasn't long before her gift was found, a well-made silver cup with a red apple heart on the side. Functional and pretty!

"Aww, thank ya Silver Spoon! It looks mighty pretty!" She gave the other filly a half-hug as she kept her eyes on the cup.

"Didja make it yerself?" She asked, getting up and trotting towards the punch, pouring a nice cup and downing it as she waited for the next gift!

Sweetie Belle

Sweetie Belle looked suspiciously at Silver Spoon, as the pampered pony went on about it Sweetie not having a cutie mark for ... but at least she tried. She leaned over towards Apple Bloom and, in a filly's loud whisper, "I can't tell! Is she being mean or nice?"

She gave Apple Bloom a hug as she enjoyed the presents, wincing only a little at the sudden loud yell to get Rarity's attention. She giggled softly. "I'm so glad you *liked* it!" she squeaked happily, her voice cracking in her glee, and pranced up and down eagerly waiting to see what else Apple Bloom would get! Why, it was so exciting she wanted to help Apple Bloom open even more of them even faster to find out what her friend had gotten! Except that wouldn't be fair to Apple Bloom. So instead she just pranced in place and watched with eager excitement!

Purple Haze

Purple Haze looked suspiciously at Cheerilee ... the teacher hadn't told her how many hooves she'd been holding up! "A'ight, s'long as ye're nae jes' puttin' a brave face fer us!"

She stepped away, and her face lightened as Lux asked after her cake. "Oh! Well, it's-" She didn't get a chance to say anything as Cheerilee and Ingrid asked for their help. "Ah! Roit! We'll snap it up roit quick, then! Nae ye worry!" She grabbed Lux and pulled him along towards where Ingrid had indicated, and swiftly started picking up some of the mess and stacking it in neat piles. Easiest way to find something, after all! Sort everything out! "Here, ye put th' wrecked stuff o'er there, Lux, an' th' boxes o'er there, an' we'll find it in no time!"

Rainbow Dash

Dash blinked in surprise as Rarity took the hit for her ... it wasn't like Rarity to get dirty on purpose! For anyone who knew the precise pony, they would know just how big a deal that was! "wow, thanks!" She said to Rarity, eyes wide in surprise.

She felt a bit frustrated, though. How was she supposed to do anything to help if she had to make sure not to get the gown dirty? Being dressed up sure was complicated! Especially since she and Carrot seemed to be the only ones who WERE dressed up.

She let out a snort at Carrot's comment and murmured to Rarity, "Sure, he says that ... but I've never met a cleaner farmer. You should see him and his sister. "Ach!" she says, mimicing his accent, "wot're ye makin' a mess of me kitchen!" then a younger tone, "It's called cookin'! If ye wanna eat ye'll shut it!" Rainbow Dash let out a giggle, then looked around helplessly. "So ... what *can* I do in a kitchen that won't get this getup all dirty?"

Guiding Light was happy to hear that his teacher was ok and now sought out to find a certain missing present. Of course it wasn't all that missing as another pony was able to locate it faster than he could. Before he could react to going over to the wrecked remains, he felt himself being pulled there against his will. The strange pony decided to drag him along for the ride and set him to work moving things.

"Um... sure Purple Haze. We'll have this cleaned up in no time! Maybe we'll find other lost presents amongst this stuff."

He then began to pile the bits of things in one pile, keeping an eye out for any packages along the way.

Applejack zipped to Apple Bloom's side, just as the little yellow filly reached for Silver Spoon in a half hug of appreciation. Applejack reached around them both and hugged them together with her. She was excited that even fillies that formerly seemed to pick on Apple Bloom, were even being nice and giving gifts on her birthday. And the cup! Was it made out of silver? Applejack wasn't used to seeing something so shiny on the farm, and she immediately questioned its value, but remained gleeful. "Oh, I love it when my sister and her friends make things for each other. Did you really make it yourself, Silver Spoon?" Applejack asked almost as if it was almost confirmed.

Surprised that somepony that wasn't paid to actually appreciated her hoofcrafted items Silver Spoon blushed slightly and tilted her head down with this silly-school-filly grin on her face.

"Why yes, I did in fact make that by hoof. Are you absolutely sure that you like it? There isn't anything that you don't like about it? I could always just melt it down and we could forget all of this ever happened if you are just saying you like it." This was so unusual for her to actually have even Applejack saying she liked it, but then again Applejack didn't ever really seem to mind Silver Spoon considering she had let her onto the farm a few times. She stood up from her seat at the bench and walked over to Apple Bloom and handed her a small card.

"Oh, I almost forgot this is from Dazzle. She says she is sorry that she can't make it for she is sick and tied up in her sleep at the moment." Silver grinned a bit before returning to her non-emotional face that she was trying to keep this whole party, maybe she like, misjudged the CMC. No, that was for sure not true, but at least they did seem to be trying to do something with themselves for a change.

Scootaloo had been /OUT/ like a LIGHT! But the potent spell of the Cider was wearing off and the foal whom had been contently drifting in and out of dream land was awakened..."Ggn...Ghn.. OH MY CELESTIA I SLEPT THROUGH APPLEBLOOMS BIRTHDAY!" Scootaloo sprung up but to her relief the party was still going on! Rising to her feet she stretched and flapped her wings a few times, before seeing AppleBloom was opening gifts, and eagerly picked up her own meager package from earlier trotting over before waving it

"AppleBlooooom Open mine! It's the most epic, awesome, most RainbowDashlicious present in all of Equestria!" She felt bad for sleeping and dang it to Luna she was going to make up for her absense!

Apple Bloom put Silver Spoon's fantastic gift away, more than a little pleased that even the worst of her enemies could find it in her heart to put forth a pretty darn good amount of effort. It had to be a sign of respect if nothing else, and you earned that, and if she could earn respect then maybe one day she could her friendship. Maybe it was just a pipe dream but if it was just a pipe dream, then it was a pleasant one to have. Apple Bloom trotted to the table and put Silver's present on, using that motion to whisper back to Sweetie Belle.

"Ah dunno...both? Ah think she's bein' as nice as she can be ya us," Apple Bloom offered, looking over as her big sis complimented the complicated filly. Silver didn't know how to take it, but all in all it was nice to see that she was a positive pony today. Well, as positive as she could be. Then Silver Spoon handed Abby a letter from Dazzle, which was immediately taken away to the table- she'd read that one later.

"Thanks for doin' that, Silver Spoon!" She said, refilling her punch as Scootaloo half-awake staggered to her hooves and then to her gift, picking it up and waving Abby over with all of the efficiency her conditioned afforded her. Apple Bloom could swear that she had opened up a gift already from Scootaloo, a nice bow if she could recall, but then again she couldn't recall. That whole time period was a blank spot of blurs that she was sure was responsible for the fact her jaw felt like it was in sixteen pieces.

"Aww, thank ya kindly Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom trotted over, taking the gift and sitting down with it.

Applejack was so happy with what looked like bonding between Silver Spoon and her sister that she almost cried happy. "Scootaloo! You awoke from yer, uh, cider nap, heh heh," Applejack chuckled. Silver Spoon nodded her head, she had only done it since Dazzle had asked so nicely and gave a slight pause before she walked back over to the table.

"It is quite fine Apple Bloom, I don't mind helping out Dazzle from time to time. At least she is a blank flank that is trying to do something for herself." Silver rested her head on the table not wanting to have said that but letting it just slip out. "I MEAN HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" She bolts up and all but screams it hoping it would drown out her previous statement. It was as if she had been drugged to try and be nice today, there was something about birthdays that she hated ruining. It was as if she didn't want to be evil today simply because it was her friends friends birthday, so in turn a half-friend or what-have-you's birthday.

"I think I need to like, get some more food or something." Silver whispers to herself as her stomach grumbles and reminds her of the second, no ok third, best reason she came here. Food.

Scoots was practically beaming as AppleBloom opened the present..it wasn't nearly as glamorous as the others, she HAD given her a present earlier, and it HAD been a bow, but Scoots had brought her TWO presents, yeah that's right, not ONE not THREE but TWO presents! The first one was something nice, but THIS was something Scootaloo had made /herself/.

It was a photo album, the leather was bright red and it had a golden apple button glued to the center of it, inside were pictures of their adventures they'd been on! There was them standing proudly by a gilded apple float..and then them looking sheepish and watching it sink...There was them having fun at the park, at school, just in general it was tons of little snippets of their time together as friends.

On the back of the first page in rather wibbly handwriting was written

"Happy Birthday AppleBloom: You are One of My bestest best friends and I can't wait till we can go on more adventures together!

Your most rad, most awesome, friend Scootaloo"

There were a few blank pages so AppleBloom could put her own memories there.

Scootaloo glanced at AppleJack and grinned "Oooh MAN AppleJack that sounds SO good right now you have no idea!" Getting back onto her wobbly feet she went over and planned to eat just one..but ended up gobbling at least 4 , glancing at Applebloom she grinned with her cheeks puffed to high heaven.

"DEY'R ELISHOUS!"

OOC- Was waiting on a few, but I'm not waiting any longer.

AppleBloomATTEMPT3final.png

Apple Bloom wasn't gentle on the wrapping paper, and it didn't look like Scootaloo had been either! Neither of them were the sorts to be too delicate in such matters, and Apple Bloom tore the wrapping paper off with gusto, scattering it about like super special snowflakes before looking at the gift she was given. It wasn't the most sophisticated of gifts, and definitely wasn't all that expensive. It was hoofmade, and that made it more valuable than all the gems in the hills around town and you betcha there were a lot of gems in the hills. It was a nice photo collage of their time together, failures and successes that defined who they were as ponies and friends. Apple Bloom smiled as she leafed through it, momentarily silent as she took it all in. It must have been a lot of work, and the fact scootaloo had gone to such lengths was touching. She made a point of giving her pegasus friend a fierce hug.

"Aww, that's a sweet gift Scootaloo! Thank ya so much! It's so thoughtful," She gave her a peck before running over to the table and placing the gift. Then her eyes set on her sister, who was in good spirits after some earlier anxiousness. Applejack being nervous or anxious was one of the scariest things in the whole world, the whole whole world, because she was usually the most well-put together pony in the room. Thinking now that she was all ready and happy and excited made Apple Bloom feel like now was the time for the big guns to come out. The filly galloped over to Applejack and pulled on her fetlocks gently, but eagerly, big eyes wide with a fever pitch level of excitement as the thousands of possibilities rolled through her head.

"Applejack! Applejack! Ah think it's time for gifts from tha family!"

Sweetie Belle

Sweetie Belle looked over Apple Bloom's shoulders as her friend unwrapped her other friend's gift, bouncing up and down on her hooves with her lil' legs stiff and straight, and a huge and excited grin on her face. When she saw what the gift was, she let out an eager, high-pitched little *squee* of delight! "Ohmigosh, Scootaloo, that's *perfect*!" she gasped, her forehooves coming up to cover her mouth a moment, then pressed in closer behind Apple Bloom so she could see their adventures captured in photographic eternity! "Eee! I remember that one! And that one! ... Not sure if I want to remember that one ... Oh, that was so much fun! We should try that again some time!" She wriggled eagerly, too much energy for one little filly body. "You gonna keep it at the clubhouse, Apple Bloom?"

Carrot Fields

Carrot wasn't sure what to do next, other than to keep anything caffeinated or sugary away from the pink maned mare, who appeared so focused on her eccentric mixing and lost in her own world, that she had forgotten he was even there. Of course this suited the ruddy maned stallion just fine, as the very thought of having the frankly nuts mare getting her hooves of the bag of coffee beans was too frightening of a proposition to contemplate. With the opportunity given to him by Pinkie's unmindful focus on the bowl in front of her, Carrot slide the bag of coffee beans snugly behind some of the barrels. Figuring he'll tell Applejack where it is later, he actually felt proud that he kept his promise to the orange mare to keep the beans safely out of the mix, as silly of a "victory" as that may be.

That just left Carrot with the two other mares in the room. the magically dressed Rainbow Dash, and her rather grubby but still amazingly stunning white unicorn friend who's name he couldn't recall. Carrot just gave a huge smile, which he hoped was charming but more likely looked goofy and awkward, "Shoods we gang it intae th' main room? we dornt want tae miss th' present openings, an' mah sister brooght a cake! Large enaw fur everypony tae gie a slice tay!" With no delay, he moved some of the half empty bags and debris off the floor to clear a path for the two mares, "Thaur ye gang ladies, we dornt want tae gie 'at frock dirty, yoo're jist sae bonnie in it.".

He wanted to sound gentlestallion like, but likely it just sounded like complete cornball, but it certainly couldn't hurt to compliment a mare, could it?

Unless they hated cornball.

Cheerilee

Cheerilee watched with both joy and apprehension as Applebloom opened each of her presents. Although undoubtedly Cheerilee would be welcomed to this occasion even if she had no present, the purple maned mare didn't like to idea of attending a party without at least some sort of gift to occur. In this particular case, she did, only to loose it in the chaos; at least Purple Haze and Guilding Light were sorting through the refuse looking for it. Cheerilee did her own passive searching, not wanting to give the impression she wasn't watching Abby open her gifts, or Celestia forbid, draw attention to herself in this embarrassing situation.

Cheerilee looked over at the two foals helping her out and whispered quietly as best she could, "any luck in finding it?" Hopefully it won't be found via the bottom of a hoof.

Applejack patted Scootaloo on the head. The orange foal sure did act strange after her nap. She wondered if this was always how she acted. Almost like she is hiding something.

"Sure, Apple Bloom! That sounds like a humdinger of an idear!" Applejack squeed with excitement. She knew just which one to have her sister open, the big present that was not even wrapped, for they did not have wrapping paper that big. Instead, a structure that up til now looked nothing more than a pointy and uncomfortable bean bag chair, was covered with a table cloth near the back of the presents pile. Applejack pulled it out, as it wasn't that heavy, and presented it in front of Apple Bloom, and with one fierce pulling of the tarp, Applejack flashed the gift to her sister. "Ta da!"

It was a dollhouse farm set, complete with moving action figure farmer ponies, tools for pretend play, and a farmhouse, complete with all typical amenities, along with the accessibility of a foal-sized hoof to reach in and decorate all the rooms with all of the available attachments that were sold separately. Of course, Applejack bought those too. She had to. Anything of this kind was go big or go home, and Applejack made sure that all of the pieces were collected for the enjoyment of Apple Bloom. "It's that farmhouse doll set you wanted! And... I got all the extra fixin's too," she pointed as she listed, "like the plumbing expansion and the livestock bonus set. It's all hear!" Applejack was proud to have gotten this for her sister. It was even exciting for Applejack, as she leaned in detailing the plastic content before her. She was generous to let Apple Bloom play with it first. But of course, Apple Bloom would share right?

Guiding Light still continued looking through the debris on the floor, hoping to Find Cheerilee's gift. He felt bad not seeing Apple Bloom open her gift but he tried to look over when he could and clap when his fellow classmate opened another gift. The colt used his telekinesis to move the things on the ground, putting the presents in a pile and the rest of the other things in another pile. It was getting tiring using this magic so much as the colt wasn't used to using it for extended periods of time, but levitating things was better than accidentally crushing the prized present under his hoof.

Apple Bloom nodded as her Crusader friend seemed just as excited as she was about Scootaloo's thoughtful gift. That was good, because while the gift was ostensibly for Apple Bloom it was really about the Crusaders as friends and comrades with a cause. It was a sentimental but important reminder of how they'd come, how far they had to go, and how the journey was just as important if not much more so than their destination. Sweetie crowded in and looked over Apple Bloom's shoulder as the pair took it in, and Apple Bloom shared her friend's genuine smile.

"Of course Ah'm gonna keep it at tha clubhouse! Why, it's tha perfect inspiration fer our crusadin'!" Apple Bloom answered, thinking where she could place it as she watched Applejack's energy grow with every step. She seemed more excited than pig with full troughs all around at the prospect of opening up some of the family gifts, nearly prancing to the back of the presents pile. Up until now Apple Bloom had thought it was just one of Granny's old chairs that were shrinking over time due to the overuse of Everfree timber, but when Applejack pulled back the table cloth Apple Bloom's little heart almost leapt out of her chest and hitched a ride on an outbound pegasus to Cloudsdale.

The Deluxe Family Farmhouse Playset by Haybro! She had asked for it months ago as the one gift that took up imaginative real estate in her mind. She had seen it in a toyshop some time ago but as luck would have it when she returned to show Applejack, it had been sold- and it was such an exclusive set that the store clerk didn't know when they would get it back! Apple Bloom had begged and begged and begged and pleased with her family to get her it and she had found it turned around on her more than once as a threat. She had given up hope, and had even bought herself a cheap dollhouse set that after a few weeks of attention found a comfortable home in the back of the closet. Nothing could substitute for the Deluxe Set, and she had dared to imagine that maybe, just maybe, she would get it for her birthday. But really, the family had more important things to spend their bits on and she was just gonna have to be okay.

But nope, there it was- the whole set! THE. WHOLE. SET!

The set came with a huge family farmhouse, with a barn and a coup, with all the family fixings inside and some animals and farm accessories. But Applejack hadn't just bought that, she bought the three expansions! A small copse of trees and a gazebo, birds and bunnies, and a picnic table with some new clothes for the dolls was the first, then a huge openable silo with extensions and storage space! Oh, the plumbing expansion, and a set of crops, and the whole livestock set! All sorts of new clothes and even new little dollies that went with the whole family, it was so big! And awesome! And pretty! And it was all hers on her day and all thanks to her wonderful big sis!

"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Apple Bloom explained, her voice getting louder and more excited as she took it all in, bouncing up an down on her back hooves as her front hooves pulled in and clapped absentmindedly. She then charged over to the house and inspected it, opening up the barn and sticking her snout in and taking in the new barn smell, looking at all the fixings and workings and opening and closing doors and activating switches and generally touching everything as she rambled incoherently.

"Ohmahgoshthisisthebestthingever! It is so smooooooth! And look at the quality! And it's so cute and look at the dolls and the animals and the crops and the trees and the barn and the farmhouse and the plumbing! The plumbing! APPLEJACK! THANK YOU APPLEJACK!"
