Davroth
Name: Milky QuartzSex: femaleAge: young mareSpecies: PegasusPelt Color: brilliant whiteMane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: mid long pinkish with redEye Color: orangeCutie Mark: A sandcoloured whirlPhysique: slender, but wiryOrigin: Painted Pinto DesertRoleplay Type: ManeOccupation: drifter, and kind of a scoundrelMotivation: Finding her place in the worldLikes: Flying, freedom, the desertDislikes: cities, hard work, being crossedCharacter Summary: Not neccessary a very social person, Milky usually tries to stay away from crowds. She is really only happy when flying. Ever since leaving her family, she never made any real friends. Her goal at the moment is to find her mother, who got separated from the rest of her family after her birth.Origin Story: The nomads who travel along the Painted Pinto Desert warn their children from wandering into the sands. They say the wind in the desert is so strong that it carries away stray objects, and sometimes even sheep or Ponies. They blame it on mystical flying creatures, who live in the sky, invisible to the naked eye. Little do they know that those occurrences are actually the work of a family of Pegasi.Milky was born into the Quartz clan, a Pegasi family native to the Painted Pinto Desert. Since the desert lacks clouds most of the year, these Pegasi instead call a huge rock Massive in the middle of the desert their home. Since the openings to the caverns inside of it are only reachable with wings, it's virtually unknown to the other inhabitants of the sands. However, since the rocks and even the oasis near the Massive don't allow for much agriculture (aside from some edible mushrooms in the deeper caverns), the Quartz clan instead runs raids on the caravans and settlements around the desert, creating sand storms with their wings, and stealing what they need to survive. Most Ponies are completely unaware of this. When Milky was still a little Filly, her mother left the Massive, for reasons nopony in the clan ever lost a word, but she barely noticed until she got older. Growing up in a big family, all her aunts and uncles looked after the fillies together, and so the question never came up. She showed very early an eagerness to learn how to fly, and indeed was the first among her siblings to learn how to fly. It was then that her character seemed to change. Milky spend less time with the other fillies, and started to push to join the raids. Of course, her father was reluctant, seeing how young she still was, but she learned so fast that it was unthinkable to hold her back anymore. And so, on her 13th birthday, her father presented to her her first set of flight goggles and an own breather, a wooden contraption the Quartz clan members would were to protect them from breathing in the sand they swirled up. She knew instantly what that meant. She would join the next raid. The day was finally there. Milky spread her wings, as the other Pegasi took starting formation on the top of the rock. As the winds blew under her wings, she felt exhilarated. They took off, in the direction of one of the bigger oasis near the rim of the desert. As they drew closer, they started to fly spirals, carrying the sands with them. They formed a sandstorm, just she had practised. It felt so right. Now that she was out here, in the desert, she knew that this was her destiny, and sure enough, her cutie mark appeared, but she took no notice of it for now, too amazing was her first real flight. They swirled into the oasis, and sure enough, all the ponies fled into their tents, leaving unattended lots of supplies around the campsite. Some Pegasi stayed in the air, keeping up the wind, while the others scooped down, picking up loose food and packages around. It had worked like a charm, and that for years. They made sure to just take enough to live, always, it was a matter of pride. What they didn't know was that not all Ponies went inside the tents when their raid started. One of the fillies had taken refuge under one of the big canvas covers that held the trade goods in place. She didn't see much, but did catch a glimpse of Milky, soaring around the sky, too caught up in thrill of flight to pay attention to her cover. Luckily enough, noone believed her, but they did set up a wanted poster, together with an illustration based on her description. Nothing ever came from it, up to now.As they returned to the stony caverns, Milky finally noticed her cutie mark, a sandcoloured whirl, visible on her brilliant white hide. From that point forward, it was hard to keep her on the ground at all.For years, Milky went on raids with her family, performing admirably with the flight teams, but barely pulling her weight around the caverns. When not in the air, She seemed distant and lazy. Her father was very worried. He suspected this had something to do with her missing mother. So he sat her down one day and they had a long talk, and although he couldn't tell her where her mother was now, Milky gathered that she left shortly she gave birth to her, and never made contact with the clan after that. She was most likely still around the desert, since she always loved the weather around these parts, but that was all. Except for a single black and white photography, yellowed by time and sunlight, that her father had kept all those years. He gave it to her. They looked remarkably alike. She had made her decission. She would leave the Massive, and search for her mother. She was a mare now, and well capable to take care of herself. And so she made her way to the next town, seeking her destiny. Thanks so much, Jay.

Davroth
All in due time, friend.I did write her with the idea of joining some kind of desert gang in mind, since my other OC was too firmly rooted in the "right" side of the law for that. brianblackberry
Alrighty, chatted with the admin and having outlaw ponies are already as long they aren't malicious at heart, but misunderstood or driven to perform acts against the norm for some reason, or have murderous intent. Your pony and her community seem to quality here, so looking good.
