  1. Yes... I'm the Jim Leafy spoke of. (Goes into witness protection) Let's just say I corrupted him, by showing a stretch of pony music and episodes. We've been friends for several years now IRL, and I've been telling him the fun I've been having here. Welcome aboard the crazy train!
  2. Don't panic! I'm not leaving. I'm going to a con this upcoming weekend, and I might not have access to a computer then. So, those who will be waiting for me to post, please be patient. I'll be back late Sunday.
  3. Happy Birthday Pinkie. Just don't do the same having a party with inanimate objects like you did last birthday, ok?
  4. "I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey." - The Criminologist from Rocky Horror Picture Show "You remind me of the baby." Jareth from Labyrinth "You're been living in a dream, Neo." - Morpheus from the Matrix "It's party time! P-A-R-T-Y? Because I gotta!" - The Mask "Do or do not. There is no try." - Yoda from the Star Wars series "Oh, one more thing..." Wise Man from Sucker Punch "Redrum!" - The Shining "I hate snakes!" - Indiana Jones Series "I can think of six impossible things before breakfast" - Alice from Alice in Wonderland "The King has returned" - Rafiki from The Lion King "Everything you see is Narnia" - Thumnos
  5. Wow! Great analysis. The way I see Twilight as is a pony of all trades. Magic, being her Element, allows her to easily study and cast spells. She improves by using the spells over and over (practice makes perfect). In terms of unicorns going to Princess Celestia's School to learn how to learn new spells and improve on their main ability (the one they have their cutie mark for), I can mention my unicorn OC. Her name is Fire Heart, and she's a filly that just received her mark. She has recently enrolled in Celestia's School (think around the age Twilight entered). Her skill is fire magic. When I created her, I made it so she wasn't too over powered and this gives her room to grow in her magic. That's why I have her as a student, to have her learn. Also, to reduce the overpowered part, I made a flaw to her magic: it's tied to her emotions so when she's scared or angry, she becomes a Human Torch. So I agree that ponies can grow in their magic, especially fillies or colts. It makes the evolution of the character more realistic. As for a system where a skill is augmented, I think that would be cool. The problem is that with so many different unicorn magic out there, it's hard to create a system for that. D&D, for example, has a set spell list and set spell levels. For it to work, a system like that would have to come into play. This means assigning spells to a level, determining the number of levels, determining what level a pony is at, and seeing how one can reach another level of magic. Not impossible, but still tricky.
  6. Dear Shy Shy, (Ahem) I'm Covered in Beeeeessss!
  7. "Wow! Thanks," Light said as he levitated the sword in front of him with his telekinesis. "You know, I've read about sword fighting, but never tried it." With that, Light started swining the sword, trying to imitate the moves in the stories. He felt he was doing fairly well... until he smacked himself in the face with the broad side of the sword. "Um... maybe I should that to the professionals," he said as he slipped the sword into his saddlebag, the hilt poking out. "Ok then, which way Pip?"
  8. Sky Flare was walking through the streets of Cloudsdale when he saw a flier. "The Aeroblades, huh," Sky said as he read the flier, "Never heard of them. Must be a new team." With the popularity of the Wonderbolts, there were a few teams that popped up in Cloudsdale. Some were ragtag groups that fell apart as quckly as they were formed. Others were well established. The fiery manes stallion pondered this chance. His ultimate dream was to be on the Wonderbolts, yet any chance to be on a team was better than no chance. "I guess I'll give it a try," he said as he entered the Colesuem.
  9. (OOC: It appears that I may have been skipped, but no worries as I will follow after Stainless. Also, in light of some other events going on with Light in other threads, I'm going to be slightly altering some things. It shouldn't change too much with this thread though.) Guiding Light smiled as Sweetie Belle said she'd wait . Now it was up to him to decide what to do next. Light was nervous about playing matchmaker. He wasn't sure if Pip really liked Sweetie or if Sweetie liked Pip. If things went badly, he'd be caught in the middle. Besides, Light didn't have a special somepony himself, so trying to set two up was both futile and dangerous. It would be like a pony who knew nothing about building things trying to bulid a house. But now that that was finished, he was ready to try and get the attire for the party. At best, the party would happen and be a success. At worst, it would not happen, but at least Light would have a nice formal suit for other parties. "Thanks Sweetie," Light said as she set the tea before him. He didn't have much tea in his life, but since this was the formal thing to do he guessed he decided it would be rude to not accept it. He levitated the tea with his magic and took a sip. The tea actually tasted good to him, although he still liked his apple juice. "So you're name is Apple Bumpkin," Light said as she turned to the pony who seemed to be doting over Sweetie Belle, "are you related to Apple Bloom?"
  10. I doubut they would have a seventh character, especially considering the Elements of Harmony has six parts. Plot wise, they could always throw in the "mysterious seventh element" and thus have a new pony. Still, then may have a new secondary character, just like when they introduced Cadence and Shining Armor. They could even have a recurring secondary rather than a one shot.
  11. (OOC: Honestly, I like this thread, but by the time I get to it, I keep getting skipped. So, I'm still going to be on it, but please be patient). Light walked with Pip and Geary deeper into the forest. The unicorn was unsure exactly how far they were going. He heard Pip mention that they were going to the caves and that they were near Fluttershy's cottage. He knew of Fluttershy but never had a need to visit her. Suddenly Geary dis something really strange... and cool. He grabbed a branch and suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke. When he reappeared, he was holding not a branch but a wooden sword, just like Pip's. "Hey, that's a cool trick! i'd love to learn how to do that. Now you're a pirate just like Pip here. Hey, can you make me a sword?" Although Light wasn't one to see himself as an actual pirate, he didn't want to be left out. and from what he heard about the forest, he may need the sword.
  12. (OOC: Actually tha chartruse was inspired by the chimmycherry or cherrychonga quote). When Sweet Surprise mentioned chartruse, Apple Bloom gave her a look like she had lobsters hanging from her ears. Before she could explain, Apple Bloom started out explainingabout how her grandmother wanted an apple cake, spesifically Granny Smiths. Then she began mentioning other apple named family members. She wondered how many actually did live on her farm. Then Pinkie, ovehearing the conversation brought out a bottle of charturse liquid while commenting on how funny the name was. "Huh... I never knew that chartruse was a liquid. I just knew chartruse was a color. Personally I like the color perriwinkle. It has such a cute name! Perriwinkle, perriwinkle, perriwinkle." Sweet then giggled at the name, but then tried maintaining her composure while helping Apple Bloom. "Anyway, you said your grandmother likes Granny Smiths. Ok. How about icing? I know cakes are sweeter with icing. Does she want a certain kind or color? How about decorations? Does she like chocolates? I'm a pretty good chocolate making pony you know. How about games or entertainment? Really I need anything you can give me about what would make her birthday the best possible!"
  13. If you want that's fine. I like the lore that is created beyond just the show canon (this is why I like fanfics so much).
  14. Wow. I've read several fanfics lately on FiM Fiction about changelings, but most are about Chrysalis. You have taken the point of view of a regular Changeling and really gave it a voice. I was also getting that this fic reminded me of Avatar with a protagonist being in one world but caring for the other when being forbidden to do so. However, while this alone could be an awesome story, this is just the beginning. i can guess who the "they" are, but I want to see how "they" find out everything.
  15. Interesting lore there. Equestrian Scholar.
  16. "While alicorn is not canon what is canon is that the princesses are all three races, not a winged unicorn. On whether or not Celestia or Luna leans to unicorn or pegasus can't really be said much as they are not shown often enough. I would say this, one should consider that Celestia has more experiance and after what happened to Luna she is not a 1000 years ahead of her sister in experiance which would count magic." True. Celestia does have more experience both on Equestria and interacting with ponies. Maybe the reason why we don't see many spells being cast by her compared to Luna is that Celestia in her 1,000 years found was to settle things without magic. As for the winged unicorn part, that's just what a creature like Celestia is called mythologically. Canon wise they're just princesses and accepted as having all three traits. This brings up a question: Is one born an Alicorn, or is one chosen and goes through a transformation to become an Alicorn? I'm saying this because before coming here, I was on two MLP RP sites. One had in its lore that Alicorns were actually born normal ponies and chosen to become one, while the other mentioned that Alicorns were born, just like any other type.
  17. Books. Lore thought that was an interesting name. Then again, so was his other name Latte. "Well hello Books. I assume by your name you like books, right? If so, I'm opening a bookstore in Ponyville soon. If you're interested, please stop by." Yes, getting word out of his upcoming store didn't hurt. Then Lore thought about something. "Rarity, you said you were into fashion right? Do you mainly design clothing or decorate places?"
  18. Most of my friends are either bronies/ pegasisters themselves or at least tolerate the fact that I'm a brony. If you have a friend who's teasing you about being a pony, just say the following... "You know, for someone who doesn't like My Little Pony, you sure do talk alot about it!" This is guaranteed to stop all teasing.
  19. "Oh hi there Pixie," Sky said as the mail mare appeared. It was a reunion of sorts, but unfortunately it wasn't under the besy of circumstances as Silver was hurt and Cloudius was in the hospital. "Wow, that's bad Silver," Sky said as he heard him talk about how his injuries could have crippled him, "I'm glad you're taking it easy so you can get healed. He then heard Pixie say how her father got his teeth chipped. "Ouch! I'm glad he's ok." Finally Sky's face went from happy to see his friends again to sad as he droped his head. "I feel awful that you're all hurt and I barely came out of that with a scratch. I'm thinking maybe if I was doing more you all wouldn't be hurt. Sorry all."
  20. Lore Weaver sat at the table with Ms. Mayor and Ice Storm. It was a typical cafe, filled with a collection of ponies eating and talking. The view however was great, showing both a little of Ponyville and the mountains on which Canterlot was built. Lore wasn't much into the formal restaurants in Canterlot, but there were a few cafes scattered about the city that he did enjoy. Now to the menu, which Lore had hovering in the air in front of him. Lore heard the Mayor mention that it was her treat, but he definitely didn't want to overstep the Mayor's generosity. He didn't know what she was ordering other that 'the usual.' Ice ordered a Cesar Salad, so if he got something around the same price as her, it should be ok. Lore then used his ability to quickly gather all the information of the menu and saw five other items around the same price. Finally he chose one of the five. "I'll have the daisy and avacado sandwich please," Lore said as he closed the menu and floated it over to the waitress so she could collect it. Ice storm then mentioned how nice Ms. Mayor was to them, and lore knew he had to say something. "I agree with Ice Storm. When I decided to come to Ponyville, I knew where I was going to stay and where my bookstore would be. What I was unsure about was how the ponies were here in Ponyville. But if ponies are just as nice as you are Ms. Mayor, then I am sure that I will have no trouble fitting into this town."
  21. Lore smiled at the fact that Rarity was interested in his shop. Everytime that a pony said that they were interested in his bookstore, it pushed the doubts of moving to Ponyville and starting a business futher back in his mind. He then saw a new pony, a pegasus, appear. He seemed quiet, either shy or not wanting to talk to other ponies. It couldn't hurt meeting a new pony though. "Hello. I'm Lore Weaver. What's your name?"
  22. I guess being a member of the furry fandom, it's nothing new. Then again, one can do worse than be a member of a group that like ponies that teach friendship, love and tolerance!
  23. Sky felt a little bad that his two friends were in pain but he was barely injured from the battle with the cloud monster. He wondered if he truly stepped in to help or if he just held back. Still he was glad that they only had minor injuries and nothing worse. "I'm glad to see you're all right, Cloudius. Oh, I did get you something too!" With that he pulled out of his saddle bag a picture in a frame. The picture was of a Wonderbolt. On the picture was a message in black ink which read, "Keep going and never give up!" "My father gave this to me when I was sick one time," Sky said as he looked at the picture before giving it to Cloudius, "But I think now that you should have it. Hopefully it'll help you to get better like it did for me."
  24. The mine cart I think had stones in front of it which Twilight removed to get the cart rolling. And yes, it does seem that Luna is leaning more towards the unicorn/ magic side that Celestia. In fact the only big spell Celestia ever did (aside from raising/lowering the sun) was in Lesson Zero when she stopped the ponies from fighting over the Smarty Pants doll.
  25. Cool Idea! Dibs on Twilight. Let me know when it's ready to go.
