  1. Dunder smiled when Fire called him her friend, "Dawww, thank you anyway, though." He said as he looked away with a grin still on his face. "Of course, no one pony took down the manticore. Muggo and I did most of the work, though Muggo' did more work than me, as he got there and actually hit the stallion head on with his hooves." Dunder said. Remembering how Muggo' had actually run up and bucked the manticorn and whatnot. He had used his sword, which made him smile. As Dunder heard the story, he smiled and chuckled. The story was pretty funny, how the unicorn acted and how she was just annoyed by everything the unicorn did. Although, this other unicorn did seem like quite the pony. When Fire said that she envied Dunder, he just chuckled. "No, you don't. I'm pretty boring, actually. I don''t usually do much besides cook and go home and read or something..." He said to Fire.
  2. Dunder smiled and chuckled when she mentioned herself in her armor, swooping down to scare him with her authority. "Yeah, sure, I'd be really scared." He said sarcastically. His drinks he had earlier tonight was talking more than he was. He took a sip of the soda as she explained that she wasn't calling him a scum. "I know, I just needed to let you know how scared I was by your authority voice." He said jokingly. He thought she would know it was a joke, since they weren't meeting under certain other circumstances. When she mentioned killing, he didn't nod or shake his head. "Well... you know..." He said, moving on from the subject to Muggo's mentioning of the manticore. "Yep!" Dunder said happily, "we sure showed that manticore not to mess with us." He said to Muggo'.
  3. "We need strong ponies like you to work the mines. There is a large black-market demand for straight-from-the-ground metals and gems. Five pretty strong ponies from letting a pony go and some time, it's worth it." she said and eyed Midnight. When Dunder heard this, he knew that there was no chance they would escape. If they wanted to kill them, they probably would have done it already. They wanted them alive, so they knew to cover all the escape routes. If the ponies fought, they'd all fall. If they tried to escape, Dunder, Muggo, and Midnight probably wouldn't make it. If Winter and Dusty tried to fly away, they'd probably get struck down and swatted from the sky. These griffons probably knew how to fight, at least they knew how to fly. One of the other younger male griffons spoke up, "And nice job falling for our trap. You," He said while looking at Muggo' "were so cute as you made your little headstone. Also, you." He aid and shifted his gaze to Winter, "you can keep that ring. I divorced that hag a while ago." He said and turned his head away, no remorse in his voice. While this was going on, Dunder was thinking. There was little chance of them surviving if they fought... his heart raced from the stress. The soldiers, the mocking, the lives on his hooves.... the ridicule he was probably getting from the other ponies, them all looking at him to tell them waht to do. He certainly wasn't going to order them to their deaths, but his choice wasn't much better. "Everypony." He said, his voice losing some of it's authority, "stand down.... If you want to get yourselves killed, be my guest." He said as he flicked his sword over to the griffon mare who was grinning wide at a Dunder who was hanging his head low.
  4. "Huh?" Dunder asked, "Sorry... this drink must be getting to my brain, now." He said before taking another drink from the soda tankard. "Not this, this is soda." He said to her, reassuringly. "By the way, nice authority voice." He said with a hint of sarcasm and a grin, "I'd feel really scared." He said and stuck his tongue out at her. "Anyway, yes, a job in the REA must be boring. Makes me glad I didn't become one. Of course, we both have those fantasies of being epic and defending the princesses or something heroically. I kind of wish I didn't.... I was kind of relying on the desire of those dreams becoming true. But, that doesn't matter. As of right now, I don't really care if I get in. They never accepted me, it's their own dang problem.... anyway, it's not like I'd want to get ordered around by somepony who's daddy was in the military so they get to push me around." Dunder said, some traces of anger in his voice and on his face. He took another swing of soda as she mentioned marriage again. When he slammed the tankard down, he burped a small burp and muttered. "Uhhuh." When she mentioned his fencing skills, he suddenly got on edge, "No... wait...er-maybe." He said, getting obviously uncomfortable. "Well, that doesn't matter right now. Have you ever had to use your fighting skills?" He asked, quickly reversing the topic back onto her.
  5. Dunder couldn't believe how outnumbered and how outgunned they were. Just the sheer number of diamond dogs and griffons against them was enough to make Dunder cringe. As Muggo and Midnight got ready, he did too. He stood on his hindlegs, the scabbard rasped as the sword was drawn out. He went bac to all fours, his rapier not in his hoof, but he could grab it in a flash if he needed to. "Everypony, get close..." He looked back, they needed to protect Winter, he wasn't in a fighting position anyhow. Dusty could maybe fight if he really needed to. Muggo' would probably go berserk. Midnight looked like she was ready. Dunder didn't know if he was ready with all these ponies in his hooves. "Close in on Winter, protect him." Dunder said as he backed up, dragging his rapier along. The griffons and Diamond dogs seemed to enjoy the ponies' fear. The ones who grinned showed mouth full of missing and battered teeth. The griffons, on the other hoof, were pretty clean looking. When Midnight stepped up, an older female griffon, about the same age as midnight, scoffed. "Watch out, looks like we have a bad flank over here." She groaned as she rolled her eyes. "Miss R.E.A., venom in her voice.over here has to be a hero!" She almost yelled at Midnight. "And we're not letting any of you ponies go? We were actually expecting you...." She said as she started to pace in front of them. Dunder felt like an idiot. He had led all these ponies to something horrible.... though... it was up to them all to get themselves out as one. He wanted Midnight to back down, it took him a while to find his voice. "Midnight!" He called demanding, "Stay in formation!" He said. There was probably going to be negotiations by the sounds of it. And Midnight out, being one of their good fighters, was dangerous if she were to get surrounded by herself. "Yes, we were expecting you. You were probably sent here by a researcher... that scrawny little thing.... no way he would be any use to us." She said as she paced, "He begged and pleaded for us to let him go, we were thinking about just throwing him off the cliff, but he offered us something. He said that if we let him go, he'd send bigger, stronger ponies. Ponies." She emphasized on the plural. "It wasn't really a loss if we let him go, so we did. And guess what? His plan worked!" She started to laugh. Dunder couldn't believe it. He had run... no... flown... headfirst at terminal velocity right into a trap. As the adrenaline pumped through his veins, he knew that they were all going to get out, he just needed to do something. He needed time to think.
  6. "Hmmm. Sounds like a party. I've never been to a zebra party. Sounds like the kind of party I would like to go to, especially if you'd give me a special pass to one of your shows." Dunder said to Slick. "And I'd be sure to check out all the music I can when I'm there. It's not like I'd be in a hurry. I'll also be sure to ask around to see if any of the musucians know you, Slick. You seem like the kind of po--er, zebra that has established themself already inside of Marelem." He said to the zebra. This zebra was definitely interesting. Meeting more of his kind was something to look forward to.
  7. Dunder was going to call Dusty up to carry him down, but it was too slow. With Winter hurt, everything was too slow to get down there. Dunder trotted back to a pretty far rock, cutting the rope distance down drastically. Dunder secured the rope around the rock before following the rope. He looked down to the others, the dim torch didn't light enough to see the rope, but it didn't matter, he needed to get down there. He started to rappel down the ridge Winter had made. Dunder started to get nervous the more and more he plunged into the dark. He made long strides to cover as much ground as possible, until he saw the rope started to end, almost over half of the way down. Dunder ooked down and up, then back down before jumping for it, he flapped his wings a few times before landing heavily on the ground. It was eerily quiet elsewhere in the cave. "Alright, get Winter up, something doesn't feel right..." Dunder said as he looked around into the abyss. Suddenly, the rope that Dunder took down silently fell to the floor. Dunder could see it fall from the ridge, he knew there was no way the rope could just break and fall that smoothly. "Everypony, on your hooves and back to back." He ordered them all, there was no room for questions as a horn blew fro an unknown spot from inside the cave. Suddenly, the cave was lit up as something else carrying a torch lit an oil trail around the base of the cave. An intricate system of oil filled trenches in the walls and around the floor lit everything up. Lined up around the walls were diamond dog soldiers holding long wooden spears, aimed at the ponies. From the hole Winter had made, four griffons flew in, no armor on them, only sheathed curved blades. They all flew in, almost like they were thinking as one as their movements were so natural, each one landed somewhere around the group of ponies. One of them, a middle aged male, let out a laugh, "HAH! You guys are so cute. I can't believe you fell for that trap so easily!" He mocked them before laughing again. Dunder was the first to speak, "What? It was a trap?!" He blurted out. It couldn't have been.... he might have just led 4 ponies into their doom... no way they would go down just like that.
  8. [Of course it's okay. ] Dunder smiled at Nahime, "Nice name, I like it." He said before taking in a breath, "And my name is Dunder Blust, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said before shifting his gaze to another pegasus mare who had just landed and walked over to them. Dunder didn't mine the dust from her landing, he just closed his eyes when it got a little dense. "You don't look like you're from around here either." Dunder said to Taiko before Nahime explained why she was there. "Well, I'm not really a tour guide, I've just been here longer, actually, I haven't really gone to the mythological creature exhibits. I was saving the best for last, but I do know where they are." He said to both of them.
  9. Dunder listened to her all the way through, nodding and biting his lip as she explained. She reminded himself, being a sickly foal, but he didn't have it nearly that bad. When she was done talking, Dunder let out a "hmmph." He took another sip of the soda before talking again, "I thought I had it pretty bad. I got pneumonia a few times as a foal.... my mother almost lost me when I was in her tummy too.... Those were close calls, but of course, I'm here and well." He said, slightly lively. "And your parent's life plan for you sounds awesome. I mean, a father with a rich husband and a high rank in the REA?" He asked sarcastically, a slight snarl. As she finished, he also finished drinking the soda. He slammed it down on the counter. "Well, since I was a colt, I've wanted to be in the Royal Guard. You know? I even had the fantasies of epic fighting skills... like being the last pony defendinng the princess against griffons or something." He said with a smile, remembering his colthood. "I soon found out I was good at cooking... but I was excellent at rapier fencing. I ended up never joining the REA..." He said quietly, a little embarrassed. "I don't know why... but I could tell that the instructors didn't agree with my methods and philosophies." He said and sighed. He purposefully excluded his want to get married, as well as his lack of any love life.

  14. Dunder couldn't help but feel embarrassed... he only wanted to make Inkblot appreciate Storm more... Now he made himself look like an idiot, and possibly ruined his friendship with Storm and his possible friendship with Ink. He could tell he wasn't wanted anymore, he just wanted one of the ponies to tell him so he could fly away! Dunder sighed and looked away, "I guess I'll go... and leave you two to your date..." He said as he started to hover.
  15. Welcome to Canterlot you Canadian!
  16. When Applejack grabbed his hoof, Dunder grinned. He couldn't believe he was actually going to do this. He held his fetlock tightly in hers, and with a powerful pull he brought her close. He stood on his hind legs as he pulled, bringing her up, back to the counter. He wrapped both of his forelegs around her in a sideways hug as he full-blown kissed her on the lips. He held it there for a few moments, his eyes closed before breaking away. He soon let her go, and got back up in a sitting position, a wide smile on his face. "Thank you, Miss Applejack." He said happily. He then noticed that nopony had filled his saddlebags with apples. "Uh..." He said as he looked back at the line to see most of the Apple workers arguing with some rowdy customers. He didn't say anything, he just turned back to the stand and eyed the ground. He didn't want to look up at Applejack in fear that it could get awkward.
  17. "Yeah, but don't drink too much. I'll feel obliged to carry your flank out of here." He said with a smile to the pegasus mare. When she mentioned his name, Dunder laughed. "No, no... I am named after rum yeast, but that's not why I was named this. I was named this to be unique...." He said. He didn't really want to talk about his name and quickly moved on to the next subject. "And I have no jobs, as of now. Though, I haven't searched. If you live in Cloudsdale, you should give me your address so I can visit you if something comes up." He said. When he heard the description of her father, he chuckled, "Sounds like a charming guy, I'll be glad to not be on his bad side." He said.
  18. Dunder flinched when Storm yelled at him. He looked up and met her gaze, "Don't look at me like that." He said simply. WhenInk spoke, Dunder couldn't help but feel like he should leave. They were obviously mad... but no, he wouldn't run away. He would stay and try to sort it out.
  19. Dunder followed Sketch, to be honest he didn't know where else to go. As Sketch dismissed the other soldiers, Dunder felt an overwhelming want to go home too... Though, he knew he couldn't. He had to stay there and fight like he promised he would. He was just happy he wasn't among the casualties. When Sketch gave the speech, Dunder didn't feel hyped up. The stress of having to bear the casualties in his unit was to high to just be relieved with words. He felt lonely and sad... the rest of his unit was already gone and out partying or six feet under. When Sketch dismissed all the soldiers, Dunder didn't follow. He wanted to stay with Sketch, he couldn't face any soldier that was in his unit or in sketch's army. When Dunder followed Sketch along for the rest of his time, absent minded listening to most of what was going on. Though, when he listened to the mother or lover crying, Dunder couldn't stand it. He took in a deep breath when the colt was in Sketch's attention. Dunder turned to face the colt, the colt's bravery and willingness to fight was a valuable trait... just he was too young. Dunder couldn't help but look at the colt with sorrow, now knowing was was in store for the small colt. After Sketch was done talking to all the ponies, Dunder walked over to him and stood beside him. "We need to go do something not related to war.... any ideas?" Dunder asked his fellow knight. Not sure how the pony would react or what he would say. Though, he wanted to get to know Sketch better, this pony seemed interesting.
  20. AWWW DANGIT! This backfired hard... Dunder thought as he smiled nervously and started to blush. "Uhhh... c'mon! Guys... It was an accident! I didn't mean it, honestly...." He said. "Just... don't yell, please, I'm sure we could all talk this out..." Dunder said. His stress levels increased as well as anxiety. He backed up and sway from the two ponies.
  21. "I'm going with Storm's." Dunder said. WOW! This pony isn't even going to vote for his girlfriend's flower... This pony needs a wake up call.... Dunder thought as the plan started to formulate in his head. He grinned for a second when it came to him. "Well..." He said, "We should just compare them side by side! I'm sure that Ink will maybe change his mind." Dunder said as he picked up the flower. He started to trot over beside Storm, when he suddenly tripped over a rock. "Woah!" He said as he landed on top of Storm, his lips locked with her beak. He pulled up quickly, "Urrghh... I'm so sorry!" He said to Storm with a horrified look on his face.
