Im gonna put in my two bits here and agree with Davroth on this one. There was only one instance in the show where Twilight showed an uncontrollable out burst of magic as a filly and it was due to the effect of the sonic rainboom, a truly inspiring and powerful event. And under the presented circumstances in this app it does seem as though it was more at will than unintentional. So going off canon, overall I'm going to say that to me it doesnt seem impossible for her to have an outburst like that under the correct circumstances but I dont believe this is it.

Crescent saw how upset the situation was making Fleetfoot and reached out a wing to pat her back. He gave her a reassuring smile. "Hey dont sweat it girl. Everyone makes mistakes now and then. Crescent nearly had a heart attack when Val casually tossed his most valuable and sentimental possession into the air like it was nothing. Wide eyed with shock he reached out and returned it safely to its scabbard. He patted the hilt almost apologetically for the treatment it had just endured. Once he got over the small ordeal Crescent turned to the door. "Shall we?" Crescent threw open the sliding door and leisurely lifted off into the sky towards the craggy cliffs of canterlot.

Crescent smiled at the two they were certainly doing well. "Alright you two that wasnt bad. Not bad at all. I got one more test for ya but we'll take a quick break and let you get the strength back in your wings first." Crescent turned around and started dragging a hoof on the cloud drawing out a flight pattern for a very difficult trick that would allow him to properly judge their agility and precision. I was a team maneuver that required precise timing from all of them. it began with Winter on his right and lightning dancer on his left. The three of them would take off crescent strait up and the other two on opposite 45 degree angles to Crescent's sides. Crescent would swoop forward into a loop and act as marker to help guide them and be there in case something went wrong. As Crescent would angle downwards the two would converge back to his side touching their wings tips to his. Crescent would perform a forward loop and the prospects would attempt to circle around him in a close but gradual spiral staying on opposite sides. upon Crescent leveling out they would cross each other beneath him and make their way back to the cloud where Crescent would meet them. I took Crescent few good minutes to sketch the trick out on the cloud. On completion he turned back to them. "Alright. All rested up? Good, come here and tell me what you think of this maneuver." He stepped aside for them to examine the sketch. He wanted them to see it first so they could be sure it was something they could handle.

I like this idea! perhaps it could be resolved with new ponies to represent the elements of harmony or some such resolution that isnt quite so cliche. Anyway i would certainly take part in this, where do I sign up!

Crescent chuckled, that was fleetfoot alright. It always surprised him how down to the clouds and relatively unprofessional she was despite being a wonderbolt. It was refreshing really, Crescent was of the aspiration that he could keep a level as well once he got his team off the ground. "Its alright Fleet, I know what you mean. These goggles were the first pair I ever bought with my own bits, never worn another pair for more than a second or two. It just didnt feel right. He lightly hoofed the goggles on his own forehead.

Crescent waited eagerly on the cloud he landed on closely observing their flight patterns. Each of them were showing signs of fatigue. Crescent was a bit dissapointed but realized they probably didnt follow the same rigorous training regimen as him. He figured once they were on a daily practice schedule their endurance and stamina would surely improve. He laughed as Lightning Dancer cracked another blast of thunder in Winters face, he like that filly's style and decided to always keep an open hoof for her if he decided to offer membership, which was very likely from what he had already seen, If she proved capable on the next test than it would certainly be a sure thing. Poor Winter he always seemed to be the butt of someone's prank. He certainly showed a lot of potential, but Crescent still wasnt sure if he had the right stuff to be on the core squad of the team, if he did pick him up it would probably be as a back up member once he acquired more talent. Despite all of it Winter had still impressed him and that on its own was no small feat.

Crescent spared a glance back to check the progress of the other two. Lightning streak was exceeding expectations, she was still young which meant with practice she would probably be as fast as Crescent once she was a mare, if not then perhaps a bit faster. Though still not the fastest flier Winter had made leaps and bounds in his speed capabilities and what he lacked in velocity Crescent could tell he made up for in creativity; he had caught that little wall running stunt. The move was not only flashy but it took coordination to not get your hooves tripped up at such a high speed trot, not to mention he was doing it on the side of a building. Crescent knew ith a bit o more practice Winter could build up the strength in his wings and that quick creative thinking would be well worth the investment of time and effort. As they both began gaining on them Crescent figured it might be alright to let the bars off and see how they fared at full speed. He relinquished the small bit of speed management he had retained pushing himself to the limit. He arced upwards trying to see how strong their wings really were. He swooped up and over a few clouds swirled around another and landed on the now slowly spinning pile of fluff.
