The Airship Crash[Open]

In an effort to try and counteract the dastardly force of gravity that was holding him pinned to the seat in front of him, Timbre Swing tried the first thing that came to the unicorn's mind. He attempted to wrap himself in the glow of his magic. It worked!...for all of two-odd seconds. Just enough for him to float back toward his seat...and slam back against the seat in front of him. He let out a mild curse in Fancy, in quite a bit of pain from the hit. He was keeping mostly calm, but that was on the outside only. Inside he was panicking...why were they crashing? Were they actually crashing? Would the pilot get this back under control? And if they crashed, who would come save them?

Not that he had much longer to think about it. With a crunch the airship slammed into the ground, and physics took hold again. The spinning motion had meant the airframe had hit and continued to spin just a little bit, digging deeper on the side that had been leading the spin. This meant, as soon as it stopped suddenly, Timbre Swing was jerked out from behind the seat and slammed into another across the aisle. "Ow! Voyons donc, on a-" he began sliding again, down the aisle, and hit his head off a flailing orange pony's hooves. He grunted in pain as the impact sent him sliding into another chair, which he bounced off of and continued to slide down the aisle, hitting the rows of chairs until he finally came to rest against the door to the cockpit, groaning. Somewhere along the way his left foreleg had gotten pinned in a seat and broken, and the repeated impacts had made his vision swim.

He mumbled a few curses in Fancy and tried to get up, succeeding in doing little except falling into the cockpit and thumping his head off of the back of the prone form of that soldier that Serendipity had been bantering with. He wondered what he was doing up here. He hadn't seen much of what was going on, from his position on the ground between the seats for most of the fall. The musician attempted to stand again, this time tumbling over Percival and crashing against the pilot's seat. "Oh, VOYONS!" he growled. " 'ey, you okay?" he asked, nudging Percival with his hind-hoof. All he could see was the pony's back from where he was lying. "For zat matter..." he coughed a bit before continuing louder. "Tout le monde! Everypony okay?" he called out, not able to see much through the door.

Dunder could feel the airship getting closer to the ground. They had been falling for what felt like forever, but he knew it was going to end eventually, with a less than happy ending. He closed his eyes hard, feeling light headed from the perilous fall. The yells and cries of the other passengers were drowned out and turned into white noise by Dunder's ears. Everything was happening too quickly and the only thing on Dunder's mind was Ice Storm and a vicious yet timid will to survive that was drowned in the confusion of crashing.

When the airship hit the ground, Dunder fell out of his gripped chair, landing on the back of the seats in front of him and slamming his head against the chair's backing. It all happened too fast for his brain to feel the pain, but it felt the effects of getting hit so hard. The pegasus quickly rolled off, still half passed out as he laded on the seat, falling on the floor between his original seat and the ones in front of him.

Valen had found himself in a position both rich with panic and without any pretense of power to be had. It was somewhat liberating to be in a position wherein you were at the whims of fate and were silently hoping for a swift end. These ponies were insane, those who put stock in such poor thoughts. He wanted some form of power and wanted anything other than an end to his adventure. His adventure- the thought sickened him. How was it that a pony content with the soft touch of silk and a gentle breeze found himself so liberally tossed into the harshness of an adventure? Fate had a sick sense of humor, Celestia's honest truth. He was backed up, limbs flailing pathetically, against a wall off of the ground being held up by the speed of the plane.

That momentum came to an end abruptly as the airship met a hard surface. The forward momentum that held him against the wall vanished within a moment, but he did not. He was still moving as fast as the airship had been falling. This was a recipe for something horrible to happen. He was slingshotted from his position without any single hope of stopping, shooting out at extreme speed. He flew by the passengers in all of their screaming and horror and general insanity, which was a blessing in disguise. If he was going to be smashed into bits, he'd prefer it to be done silently. He found himself in the cockpit not a moment later, still moving at terminal velocity. Here, his journey may have ended had the impact not shattered the glass of the cockpit, so Valen soon found himself out of the airship entirely.

His previously well-tamed pelt met now the freezing and dashingly sick cold of the outside world as he, at great speeds, fell into the woods. His legs had lowered just enough that a hoof caught the very top of a rock, sending him spinning end over end, screaming and crying as he did so. He then was rolled up along an oddly cyclical looking rock that sent him shooting back up into the sky. His quick spinning came to an end, replaced by a slow roll in the sky. He screamed some more as he came back to the surface- and he landed on all four hooves. Valen had landed on all four hooves. Safe. Unharmed besides a bruise on his bottom which all things considered was a laughably easy way to get off.

He stood there for a second in complete and total silence, stunned for a variety of reasons. He was in an airship crash. He was sling-shotted out of said crash out into the elements. He had somehow made it through the event without a scratch to show for it, at least physically. His little mind could hardly process one of them, let alone all of them. He had to rest, had to sit down and consider what had just happened. He needed rest and the time to bring himself into reckoning with the current difficulty around him. Valen spotted a nice place to rest, a short distance away was a ledge of some sort. Perhaps a drop of ten feet or so into the grassland he thought to himself, the perfect place to rest his soul. maybe that was an exaggeration but it was the first. He walked over and peeked-

- Valen recoiled in horror.

"SWEET CELESTIA ABOVE!" Valen screamed as loud as his little lungs could carry the despnate message, as he had just stared over the abyss- he had seen thousands of hooves down, through the clouds and the air which crackled with sinister energy. He looked up even as he leapt back from the ledge and lo and behold, the peak could be seen far above in heavy cloud cover. They were on a mountain. They had crashed into a mountain. The airship had once owned the sky but nature thought this a rude development and in her fury had used the mountain to bring it down. Now it looked to only be half-way attached to the mountain, the backside crumbling away slowly. His head snapped back to the airship and a moment later he started beating a meaty path to to the airship. Ten, maybe fifteen seconds of full-on galloping later, he reached it and shot his head over into the cockpit, which by now had opened up into the passenger areas to create a clear yelling lane.

"HEY! EVERYPONY! THIS AIRSHIP'S CRASHED INTO A MOUNTAIN AND I DON'T THINK IT'S GONNA STAY FOR LONG!"

Sparks barely registered Valen's scream, but he felt the airship sliding and new instantly that he had to get out of that ship. His mind, though a bit slow from the shock of the crash, was able to register that the ship had hit land of some sort and that it was sliding off of said land at a rather alarming pace. He quickly jumped out of a nearby broken window, landing outside and rolling onto the ground with a rather painful sounding thump.

He tried to stand up, but his legs wobbled and caused him to fall to the ground, flat on his face. He glanced over to his right and noticed Valen. "O-oh... H-hello... A little help here?" he said, a frown on his face, his entire body trembling.

Apparently his trip home would have to be delayed. A number of things rushed through Sparks's mind. What would happen if he didn't make it to Stalliongrad on time? Would Snowfall fire him? Or... what if he didn't get to Stalliongrad at all? The very thought of never returning home caused Sparks to gag and nearly throw up, but he managed to contain himself, once again attempting to (unsuccessfully) stand.

Percival slowly open his eyes from his rather unpleasant coma, only to find himself lying face-down in what seems to be, grass. The atmosphere around him was warm and cozy. He slowly made his way to his hooves, slightly stumbling as he applied pressure to his left foreleg. When he was up, he realized that he was standing in a vast sea of golden wheat. Percy was astonished, it seemed to stretch for miles and miles, without any sign of an end. Placing his right hoof against his brow, he surveyed the aureate horizon, alas, he spotted a tiny figure in the distance. Seeing this, the unicorn started galloping towards it. When Percy grew nearer, he recognized the foreign object as a pony.

"'Allo there, can yer 'ear me?" He yelled to the mysterious pony.

No response. Still trying to get the pony's attention, he continued to gallop towards the apparition. When Percival grew closer to the image, he found out that that mysterious pony, was his little sister, Igraine. In a sudden burst of excitement, Percy ran towards his sister as fast as he could, with the occasional stumble from his bad foreleg. His sister was running towards him, too. When Percy finally met with her, the filly leaped on the unicorn, wrapping her forelegs around his neck. The force of the hug caused Percy to fall to the ground, laughing.

"It's so good t' see you, Iggy!" Percy exclaimed, while embracing the filly.

Placing her forelegs on Percy's chest, she pushed herself upright from the hug. Staring intently into his eyes, Iggy opened her mouth to say something in response,

"HEY! EVERYPONY! THIS AIRSHIP'S CRASHED INTO A MOUNTAIN AND I DON'T THINK IT'S GONNA STAY FOR LONG!"

Percy jolted awake. It was just a dream. The sudden rush of pain and dread filled his mind. Instead of lying face down on a field of wheat, he found himself lying face down on a broken windshield. The slight pain in his left forehip turned to unbearable agony. It was dislocated. Percy tried to get on his hooves a second time, only to stumble back down in affliction. Due to his stagnant form, he used the opportunity to survey the downed airship. The entire airship was perched on a mountain, and was severely lopsided to the point that the cockpit was the new bottom of the airship. The first half of the windshield was shattered, leaving a perilous opening to the abyss below. Percy hoped that it was shattered by an object, because to him, nopony could have survived that fall. Unfortunately, the guitar he held on to, fell onto the chasm as well. It was then that he realized that there was a somepony next to him. He was the same unicorn that sat next to the lavender pegasus before the crash. The muted-green unicorn was too preoccupied with trying to exit the cockpit, to realized that he was awake. Percy also realized that his left foreleg dangled unnaturally from his body, and his flank area was red and painfully swollen. Before Percy could help this pony, however, he had his own injury to attend to.

Percy his shifted position from the windshield, towards the control panel. Using his unicorn magic, he tore a piece of his uniform off, and then tightly wrapped it around his left forehip. Then he kicked off the control wheel with his left hindleg, and then levitated it towards his mouth, biting down hard. The White Unicorn was filled with dread, knowing that this would be extremely painful. Reluctantly, he gripped his left foreleg with his right hoof, then he slid it into place, with a sickening thud.

"Mmmmmmmmppppphhhhh!"

Percival's scream was muffled by the object he was biting down on. Tears of anguish was streaming profusely down his cheeks. His face was flushed red as he wailed to the top of his lungs. He instantly crawled into the fetal position, clutching his sore shoulder.

"Oh sweet buckin' Celestia, that 'urt like bollocks!" He exclaimed after he spat the control wheel out of his mouth. Percy quickly wiped the tears from his cheeks, and sighed of relief. Aside from the slight jarring in his forehip, the pain was finally over. Searching for something else to preoccupy his mind with, he decided to look out the broken cockpit window. There, he found a huge circular depression on the surface below.

"Force fields, isit? I didn't know I could do that!"

Serendipity continued to cry out in pain, her battered body unable to move from where it lie huddled on the floor. The pain in her wing was immense, but it was far from the only damage. With how violently she had been thrown, her entire body was battered and sore. She lacked the strength to push herself onto her hooves and she sure as Celestia couldn't fly. It was a lucky thing that the ship had stopped moving. She wouldn't be able to take any more of this.

It was just as those thoughts crossed her mind that somepony, a young voice, called out that they were on a mountain side and that their position was anything but secure. As Serendipity started to feel the ship start to slip from its position, her mouth went agape. This wasn't possible. How could this be happening to her? It would give any second and she didn't think her body would recover in time. As the ship began to shift, her body moved and fell onto a new surface, causing even more intense pain.

She could see that at least one of the colts had already jumped safely out onto the mountain side. She could only assume the rest would do the same. "Somepony, help! Please!" she called, determined to make sure that these ponies didn't make their safe escape without her. "Please! I can't move... I need..."

Her words turned to indistinguishable cries as the ship slipped even further, seconds away from sliding back into free fall.

Nopony appeared to have heard him, so Timbre began trying to stand. Adrenaline coursed through his body, so while he noticed his leg was injured something bad, he didn't notice the multitude of bruises and small cuts he'd received on the way down. He also didn't notice the armoured pony he'd nudged earlier had gotten up, until he heard a crash and a curse from outside the window. Timbre turned quickly to look out.

"You could 'ave just asked me to 'elp you down. I am good with levitation." he pointed out, turning back to the cabin. Folks were panicking, but it was hard to get up to them with how the gondola was tilted. He had been about to make his way up the aisle when he felt the airship start to slip. Oh, that was not good, not one bit.

"Oh non. Non, non, non!" he said in a bit of a panic. He looked out for anything that could inspire him, and realized that there was something he could do...maybe.

Gritting his teeth, the musician jumped out next to Percival. " 'Ey, mon ami. 'Elp me with this." he said, facing the airship. Sure enough, mooring cables had come loose, and parts of the airship's gasbag were in shambles. It provided just enough for Timbre to reach out with his magic and grab hold one of the mooring ropes, and a few of the longer, larger pieces of gasbag. He had no illusions about his own magical strength...he was not an incredibly powerful unicorn by any means. But his telekinesis was good, and all he had to do was hold the airship back for just enough time for everypony to get out.

Of course, that was the plan. It seemed a lot more simpler until Timbre Swing's bright blue magic glow started to work and he started to feel the strain of the massive ship wanting to do as gravity wanted it to: fall back off the mountain. "Everypony! Get off zee ship! Toute suite! Fast as you can, allez!" he shouted, and then immediately shut up, a rare thing for the Fancy musician, to try and conserve his energy. He'd only been holding onto the ropes for less than a minute, and he could already feel his magic slipping. "Come on! 'Elp me!" he snapped at the pony on the ground, hoping Percival had any kind of energy. Heck, for all Timbre knew he was shouting at somepony unconscious...he hadn't checked to see if Percival had regained consciousness after leaving the cockpit. A bead of sweat trickled into his eye and he let out a hiss of annoyance, trying to blink the sweat out of his eye. The airship shifted again, though not as much as it had when nothing was pulling at it. "On bouge! On zee double!" he called out again, totally forgetting his 'Not yelling to save energy' rule from earlier. Any minute now...though probably closer to any second, his magic was going to give out completely, and the airship would be left to its own devices...well, more like, left to gravity's will. And he had no doubt that he wouldn't be able to get inside to help anypony out after that.

Dunder fell down onto the seat in front of his' back seat when the weight of the crashed wreck shifted. He was on the edge of passing out, between a hazy mind and suddenly feeling incredibly tired and not able to remember what it is he was so worried about. The feeling like his head was slowly building up pressure and about to pop was eliminated when he heard the cry from what sounded like a young pony. The pony's voice was distressed, and described the position of an airship crash. Suddenly, everything all piled together.

When the realization that he had just been in an airship crash hit him, his heart fell to his stomach. The rush of emotions and thoughts coming back to his already hurt head was not letting him calculate what to do very easily, even watch his step as he almost trotted off the edge of the seat down the corridor and straight onto the wind shield in the cockpit. He stopped himself before shifting his entire weight and stepping into the drop.

As he stepped back, he could tell there were still other ponies in the wreck. He wasn't sure how long he was hazed, but he was glad to see he wasn't either left behind, or stuck in there for too long.

He also didn't know what to do, there were so many ponies that needed help, but he supposed that the stallions in the cockpit could possibly need extraction if they weren't pegasi especially. He began to climb down the seats to the cockpit door. He hanged by a hoof from the cockpit door as he peered inside to see two ponies, both unicorns and both injured. He didn't want to land on the windshield as it was apparently already broken, "Huy! Unicorns! Come over here! We need to get out now and no heroes, everypony is getting out safely."

Rabble had done her best to stay secured to the leg of the seat as the ship plummeted to the ground but the sudden shift as they came into contact with the mountain knocked her loose. She felt an extreme tearing pain shoot through the leg she wrapped around the chair as she was ripped away and smashed off a window next to the adjacent chair. Rabble's head shattered the pane into a million pieces, some fleeing outwards whilst the rest found a resting place in her coat. Bloodied and beaten she fell limp onto the cold hard floor as the momentum from the crash had subsided.

Barely concious she attempted to make some sense of the screams and shouts she could hear but her hearing was muffled and noise was drowned out by a sharp ringing. Using every last ounce of strength she possessed she planted both forelegs firmly into the ground and forced herself up. She could tell that the airship wasn't stable and that she had to leave. Rabble edged her way awkwardly down the aisle staggering from side to side every so often. Each hoofstep played a note in her mind that maybe this was her last hurrah. Each hoofstep and became the bang of the beat. The last chirps in this buskers melodies.

As blood ran down her cheek and accumulated into a simple drop Rabble could see the exit. It was blurry but it was there. She reached out to take another step but as the drop of blood hit the ground, so did she. Still not quite fully down and out she attempted once more to shoot for the exit but it was useless. A cough signalled she was near her last motion as blood came spurting out onto the floor and her head rested on the ground. "....Ugh...Ow." Then silence.

Percival's pride soon turned into horror, after the screech from the slipping gondola. "Somepony, help! Please!" It was the same lavender pegasus that he had an altercation with before, but that didn't matter anymore. This mare needed his help, regardless of past conflict. After all, he was a highly-trained medic.

"Just 'ang in there, I'll try t' help yer soon enough!" Percy yelled back to the pegasus, in hopes to rescue her. Percy quickly wrapped his two forelegs around the pilots' seat in an attempt to climb out the cockpit door, wincing as he applied pressure to his bad forehip. Percy opened his mouth to ask the blue unicorn for help, but then thought better of it. He was too far away to help the poor mare, and he risked dislocating his hip a second time. Disappointed, Percy cautiously made his way back to the control panel, and sighed. Soon after, a drop of liquid fell onto his forehead. The unicorn quickly wiped a hoof on his brow to examine the mysterious liquid, only to find a dreadful red streak.

Blood.

Percy was terrified. Sompony up there was bleeding, and it's only a matter of time before that pony could go into shock, and then worse. He shifted his position to see where it could have came from. Percy was just able to pick out an indigo coat color, before a grayish-brown head peeked into the doorway, and obstructed his vision. The white unicorn couldn't help but to utter a swear. The pegasus started to say something, but he was too preoccupied in looking for the injured pony. Despnate, Percy shifted his position even more, searching intently up the gondola. Little did he know, he scooted his way right onto the severely cracked windshield.

"Stick an 'orn..."

Before Percy could finish, the windshield shattered under his weight, and he plummeted into the world below. The sudden shock of the cold winter surged through his bones, as he plunged into the abyss. Percy landed on the side of his head, with an abrupt thud. Luckily for him, he landed on a much higher and closer ledge, then to the forest beneath. Dazed, with a constant ringing in his ears, he struggled to his hooves. The muted-green unicorn also jumped out of the airship, but Percy was too dizzy to find out why, or what he was doing. The unicorn also seemed to be saying something to him, but Percy couldn't decipher that either. "Speak up, I can't 'ear you." Percy murmured, asking the unicorn. "On bouge! On zee double!" He replied, pointing to a pile of ropes.

Percy instantly got to his hooves and levitated one of the ropes beside him, in an effort to hold up the ship. The unexpected weight, caused him to glide towards the ledge, but Percy quickly caught himself and returned to the blue unicorn's side. The next minute or two, was spent tugging on the mooring ropes, with the occasional grunts and groans, while trying to hold up the massive airship. Percy knew it was probably the worst possible time to ask this, but just to pass the time...

"So, whut's yer' name?"

In a disaster, one of the worst feelings someone with health and the will to help could have was that sense of being utetrly overwhelmed by increasingly dire circumstances. Valen had never understood why in a disaster certain ponies seemed to freeze even though they were completely fine. That had seemed like cowardice or even stupidity to him. Now. however, he knew this was a sickeningly false mindset. When one is faced with a dozen dire situations at once, each and every one threatening to only get worse with every passing moment, anydecision seemed awful. Inadequate. Scary. He froze and allowed the world around him to slow down and go without him for a few seconds.

Who to help? The unicorn stallion pulled himself together quite literally in a sea of grunts and yelps that ended in a proclamation. Another one could hardly, mark that as unable to, stand. Multiple voices from deeper inside screamed out for help- and he was perhaps the only one in such health as to have the luxury of choice in the matter. Though in this instance, that luxury was likely more of a punishment. Celestia could not have picked a less capable pony to lead any rescue effort and he knew he was not up to the task. Truth be told he wasn't up for many tasks, a sobering reminder of his great inadequacy and incompetence.

But he had lived as an Orange and worked as an Apple long enough to know that the worst decision was to do nothing. He couldn't help those deeper inside, his hooves unsure and the airframe crackling with the will to fall. He didn't need to help the military ponies who had such control over themselves that he would be nothing more than interference.

He could help the pony who could hardly walk, however, and doing something small was better than nothing at all. Valen withdrew from the cockpit window and galloped over to Sparks, who from Valen's angle had dealt with a series of incidents that rendered him somewhat immobile.

He bent down and put the unicorn's shattered side on his own and started dragging him away from the airship.

"Hang in there, colt. Just sit against the tree, you don't look so bad," Valen lied, needing to get him away from the airship before he did anything more. He knew enough to know that being in the vicinity caused him no amount of stupidity.

Valen laid Sparks against the tree and was about to speak some more when he heard a crash. His head snapped back and he half expected to see the airship free-falling once more, but alas this was not the case. One of the military unicorns and a small set of others had been evicted from the airframe and as Valen trotted over to his position which was a few feet above them, he saw the military one tie a rope to the airframe and try to hold it up as it fell after a foreign speaking pony besides him spoke up. Magic was also crackling in the airframe, which seemed to try and hold it up. This all looked mighty impressive but from Valen's angle, a clearer picture emerged. Hidden from view of others who were to Valen's right and below him was a second ledge that was propping up the crash site. That would explain why they hadn't just fallen and why it hadn'ty come to a head earlier. It was moving slowly but surely, the combined weight of the airship's contents far greater than pony strength or magic could contend with in this situation. Those trying to stop the airship from falling were operating under a false hope and belief in their power: Once the airship cleared that ledge, anypony attached to the ship physically or magically would either be pulled down with the remnants of the ship or destroyed. Sometims, the curse of intelligence was seeing just how foolish action could truly be.

Valen did some quick calculations; academy education came in handy at the oddest of times. All things considered, they had ten minutes tops, five minutes if things went poorly. That was enough for him to have some impact. Valen galloped back to the cockpit and leaped in, landing halfway across his side and stumbling. Gravity stole him and he flew through the air and into the cockpit wall, spinning before a hoof caught it. He shook his head and looked ahead, seeing a maze of fixtures and belts and other assorted goodies. Valen drew breath and belted out into the massive airframe as he cautiously started to make his way from fixture to fixture:

"ANYPONY IN HERE? YOU'VE GOTTA GET OUT! YELL SO I CA HEAR YOU!"

Sparks leaned against the tree, looking at Valen as he began to turn to leave. "W-wait! I can help!", he said, trying to stand the moment Valen turned to minimal effect, falling back to the ground. He frowned and looked at his legs, wondering if they were broken or if he was simply too nauseous to move properly. He sighed and stopped trying to stand, taking his saddlebag off of his back and setting it on the ground, opening it and digging through his tools.

After a few moments of searching his back, he pulled out a grey, fuzzy, rather warm looking hat out of his bag and promptly pulled it over his head. It was going to be a cold night. Having grown up in the cold North of Stalliongrad, Sparks had come prepared, and, looking around at the other crash survivors, he feared that the others were going to have a very, very cold night indeed.

"Just 'ang in there, I'll try t' help yer soon enough!"

Serendipity wasn't that surprised that this was the voice that responded first to her call. Mr. Soldier, from what of his actions she had observed, clearly wanted to play the part of the hero. "Soon enough" wasn't soon enough for her though. His call was distant and Serendipity didn't see him getting to her in time. She was going to just have to hope he hadn't been the only one who had heard her distressed cry. A few moments passed until, finally, a second voice came directed at her:

"Guess having a loud voice comes in handy, huh?"

Serendipity squirmed and almost lost hope until she heard these words. It had to be this guy, huh? Not Mr. Fancy, that dashing pegasus stallion, or maybe even that cool looking mare with the rock look about her? Had to be this guy who had just totally butted into her conversation unwanted. Him and Mr. Soldier were the ones concerned for her? That was kind of funny in the worst sort of way. Of course, Serendipity didn't spend much time on those thoughts. She was pretty darn happy just to have any rescuer that she wasn't going to spend much time on being choosy. Not dying in a crash like this, with these injuries, as far as she was concerned, it was still a show of her trademark luck.

"Thanks..." she muttered weakly as the male twin pony lifted her onto his back.

She gave some muffled cries as the gray unicorn made a break for it. As the ship continued to slip, he climbed up and out of the wreckage toward the open window. He then made a leap for it. Serendipity wasn't at first sure they had made it; this guy had no wings after all, but after a few much too long seconds, the pony touched down on the mountainside. Serendipity breathed heavily as she lifted herself off of him and shakily found her hooves.

Standing was hard. Her wing was probably the only thing flat out broken, but practically everything else was bruised, scratched or burnt in some way. Ugh. She felt like garbage. Standing soon became too much, so she sat on the mountainside with the others and just watched the airship. Were there still ponies in there. The two colts seemed to think so, as they moved back toward the ship. Seren just shook her head. She was through. There wasn't anything more she was going to be able to do for anypony. It was up to the others now.

Rolling Thunder suddenly jerked back into conciousness, he was lying in the remains of the crashed airship. He began moving his various limbs, and was glad to find nothing broken. Soon his mind caught up to his body and the realization he was still in danger came back to him. Slowly clamboring onto his hooves he noticed that the airship was at a dangerous angle and he may only have moments to get to safety.

As he began making his way through the wreckage he caught glipse of one of his swords. As he put it in its respective sheath he began to look for the other sword. As he looked around the seats he caught a glimpse of his reflection in some glass, the armor he was wearing had done its job and no major injuries were visible, he silently thanked celestia for wearing his armor for the flight. As he clamored toward the back of the airship he saw an exit and finally a glint of sunshine off the side of his sword. Scooping it up and placing it into its sheath it he moved toward the exit.

He quickly shouted, "one more coming out" before moving to the exit and climbing up onto the ledge outside. Once outside he immediately lay down and began to feel the adrenaline leaving his system. Sudden surges of pain came from all his joints and he could see his blood begining to cover the ground around him. The only thought that came to his mind was to feebley ask "Anypony here have a bandage?"

Various jolts and shakes struck some conciousness into Rabble as she kicked herself into gear. She wasn't going to die here, especially without saying goodbye to her friends. Still very injured and unstable she found it near impossible to get back up from the ground so she was forced to try and crawl to safety. With each passing second Rabble flung one leg infront of the other attempting to pull herself from the wreckage. As she pulled herself along the floor she was taken aback by the screams and shouts of terror from the other passengers. Deep down she wanted to stop and help but she was in no state to risk her life and possibly even risk others by doing so.

Steadily, bit by bit, inch by inch Rabble made her way to some form of crack or opening in the airships hull. By now she was exhausted and had spent every single last ounce of strength she had in making it this far. But she had done so much. Now was no time to give up. Rabble practically tossed her body into the hole using her forelegs. As she tumbled down through wreckage, bouncing off various pieces of machinery and glazing over shards of broken glass she couldn't help but fear what might be under her. Nothing. Alas though her thoughts turned from fear to joy as she was fired out from the ship and smashed off the ground. The whole experience was extremely painful but atleast now she was safe. Rabble attempted to stand up and move to help the others but she collapsed under her own weight and fell to the dirt where she lay motionless. Apart from a steady stream of blood hemorrhaging from her head.

The blue unicorn looked at him like he was mad.

"Right, fine, bad time"

After the failed attempt of communication, he continued to hold the airship's mooring cables alongside the unicorn next to him. Percy looked down at the unicorn's left foreleg. It was still red and swollen, and the unicorn was keeping pressure off of it. Percy would have to see about that later. He shivered. It was very cold in the mountains, and the freezing wind stung his body. As he kept up the tugging, he was thrilled to see that other ponies was starting to get off of the ship, and landing on the ledge below. One of the ponies who landed on the ground was bleeding from his right foreleg, and scarlet drops of blood started to form in the dirt below him. He also looked oddly familiar.

"Anypony here have a bandage?" He asked feebly.

Percival instantly dropped the cables, and hustled to the injured pony. Then it finally hit him.

"Captain! Blimey! Captain, I'm bloody well comin'!" Percy ran even faster, still stumbling from his hurt forehip. Slightly skidding as he reached the hurt pony.

"PFC Percival, 1st Battalion, Medic'ry Corps, at yor' service sir!" He yelled, panting while slightly saluting. Seeing the problem, he instantly ripped off the sleeves of his uniform with his unicorn magic, and started to crease it. Percy looked more closely at the wound, It

would eventually have to be stitched, but there was no time. For now, he'd just have to settle for wrapping it. As he began to close the wound, he heard a sicking thud beside him. It was the same indigo mare from before, but worse than ever. She was bleeding profousley from her head, and was looking very pale. She attempted to stand, but ended up collapsing onto the dirt. Percy had to help this pony, aside from the case that he had a patient already. The medical law of selection demands it. Looking up at the captain once more, he began to open his mouth, but the Captain nodded before he could speak.

Percival instantly ran towards the indigo pony, fully ignoring the pain that was in his forehip. As he approached he heard a terrified scream from the gondola, that took him completely of guard.

"SOMEPONY HELP ME!"

Percy slid to a halt. It was a scream of not physical, but emotional pain. Somepony must be injured up there, and their loved one is crying for help. You tend to know your screams after being a medic for a year.

"Just, try ter brin' 'im out 'ere, then I could 'elp!" He yelled back.

Percy continued to run towards the downed mare. When he arrived, he kneeled down to examine her wounds more closely.

"Great Celestia."

The poor mare's piercings was painfully dug into her face and ears, which did nothing but to make the injury worse. She had a huge gash above her eyelid, which continued on to the back of her head. The cut was cruelly studded with shards of glass. Percy leaned over her muzzle to check if she was still breathing. She was, but barely. He had to act quickly. He began to remove the glass from her wound, her eyelids flickering with every extraction. When that was done, he began to remove her piercings. Some were easy to remove, others, not so much, because the impact dug them further in her skin. Then Percy asked her to stick out her tongue to remove the last piercing. Luckily, the young mare never bit her tongue during the accident, and it was generally easy and painless to remove. After that, Percy unwrapped the cloth from his forehip, and used it to clean up the excess blood. Then he used his unicorn magic to pull out a small packet of alcohol from his left breast-pocket. He bit it open, then applied it to the mare's wound. She yelled in pain as the liquid entered her cut, bubbling. She tried to place her hooves onto the wound, but Percy forced it to the ground with his magic.

"Don't touch it, that means it's workin, trust me."

Percy calmly levitated his medical thread from his right breast-pocket, and then set it to the ground. Before started, he leaned towards the mare's ear, then whispered something slowly in her ear.

"This is going t' 'urt a bit, but yor' gonna 'ave ter trust me, okay, eh, mate?"

The mare shaked her head slowly. Then Percival began to levitate the needle and thread towards her, cleaned it with the little bit of medical alcohol he had left, and began to close her wound.

Percy looked down at the Mare, who now had a piece of his uniform wrapped tightly around her head.

"That weren't so bad, wasn't it?" He said, a bit relived.

He levitated something out of his pocket, a cherry lollipop.

"Her, right, yer' earned it."

Dunder could feel that the ship was giving way. Only a matter of time until the whole thing was going to come crashing down, he just couldn't tell when. He made a quick think back, making sure he wasn't forgetting anything. He was about to search for an escape when he remembered that he had his saddlebags and his rapier to recover. He couldn't tell how useful the stuff in there would be, but he still crawled backed up to retrieve all of it. By now, he was sure he could be one of the last ponies inside of the wreckage.

He quickly strapped everything tight to himself, he couldn't risk getting anything dropped or lost, not now when they would all have to use everything they could to their fullest. He began to crawl a bit more up, looking to see if he could find a closer route. that's when he noticed the trail of the red liquid. He grimanced when he saw it, not used to seeing so much.

He followed the trail, speeding up when he felt the ship shift weight again, knocking him to the side and making him regain balance. He noticed a blonde unicorn stallion who seemed to be running everything in the healing business.

He felt so tired, but it'd be worse if he felt useless or needy. Worse if he was wounded enough like the other passengers and helpless. He was still feeling somewhat descent, and his haziness was wearing off more.

He trotted up to the unicorn stallion and spoke rather softly, "What can I do...?" He asked before clearing his throat and speaking up, "To help." He said. He hadn't even noticed the deep cut on his forehead, just above his brow.

Timbre Swing's attempt to hold the airship up was, in a word, noble. Stupid, but noble. The strain was incredible...and of course, the unicorn next to him just had to pick that very moment to ask his name.

Despite straining just to keep from passing out, Timbre gave him a vicious glare.

And then let go of the mooring ropes. Timbre felt the entire airship lurch sickeningly, and the Fancy pony let out a mild curse in his native tongue. His vision was darkening around the edges, but he was watching for the signs of ponies leaving the gondola. Most everypony seemed like they were out, which was good...until he heard voices, faint voices, from inside. Great. There were more left inside, and any moment his magic was going to give completely and take him right out. He gritted his teeth and let out a snarl of frustration as he held despnately to the last threads of consciousness his brain was affording him. If whoever was stuck inside didn't get out soon, well...he didn't know if the airframe was stable enough to hold on after he let go. Thankfully, nopony seemed terribly injured. From what he saw of those climbing free, lots of bloody cuts and some bruises, maybe a few breaks and sprains, but nothing terrible. They'd all pull through.

The airship's frame lurched again, and Timbre's front legs gave out, causing him to crouch against the dirt. He growled again in pure determination. All that he could see now was the front of the gondola...most of his peripheral vision was totally blacked out. "Is everypony out?" he asked, as loud as he could. Not that it mattered...with a final snarl of determination, and now, anger, his hindhooves gave out and Timbre Swing blacked out, collapsing to the dirt. He was fine, for the most part, but his head was going to swim when he got up.

The airframe gave another lurch, suddenly having tension released when the magic tugging at it disappeared. It gave a sickening, metallic groan, signifying it likely had only a scant few moments left before it plunged out of sight.

(I needed more OOC input, but I can't wait any longer.)

ValenOrange1withtext.png

Valen hung in position for a few moments more, dangling above the passenger's cabin with the rush of air this high up whistling through the shattered outside form of the airship. He had precious little time remaining and as his ears moved like antennas to pick the scraps of conversation and orders being launched at one another, he started to realize that everypony save for him was off of the airship. He felt eminently silly- not the best at this rescue business, anyway, and definitely not in a position to be moving further into the airship. Valen tossed hoof over hoof and almost scratched his way out but by Celestia, he got out, pulling himself over the cockpit and tumbling onto the packed snow on the mountain.

He pulled himself up and wobbled over to Sparks, taking several deep breaths as he did so. He may have been unharmed and perhaps in the best condition of anypony beside the military stallions, but he had also likely been the closest to meeting his maker of them all. Had anypony else been shot out from the crash site like a cannonball? No, and Valen was acutely aware of the sheer luck that had saved him from a bad end. He wobbled on over to Sparks and allowed himself to rest against the tree that the now shared, taking in several deep breaths. The shock of the event had yet to wear off, and the same held true of the implications. He was happy enough to be alive.

"Are you going to be okay?" Valen asked the older colt, his own voice wavy and shaken in a display of null strength.

Rabble rocked from side to side clearly quite dazed from the whole experience. She barely managed to comprehend the lolipop hovering infront of her. With fumbling hooves she snatched it from the air and slouched back against the ground. Rabble was starting to feel a bit more stable but she still knew her limitations in her current state. She was in no shape to help other ponies and possibly risk further injury on herself and them. Instead Rabble tried to sit back and put the whole current situation out of mind.

She simply tried to imagine what was waiting for her at her destination. All of her friends ready to play one big gig again for old times sake. This thought brought a smile to the damaged mare's face and also struck her with fear. Rabble had become so shaken by this whole ordeal. She shuddered at the thought of what might have happened. If the whole crash had went diffirently. How would her friends have taken the news? She couldn't bare to put them through that. She had to make it.

Rabble opened her eyes to witness the rush of ponies darting back and forth trying to help each other and salvage items from the wreckage. It seemed that things were dieing down though. Most ponies if not all of them seemed to be safely out onto the mountain now. If so the next question was how to find help in such a distant place.

Percy looked intently on the dazed earth pony. He'd hate to leave her so soon, but alas, he had other ponies to tend to. Percival leaped to his hooves and ran towards the blue unicorn he was helping before. Unfortunately, Percy saw that his body was sprawled out on the dirt. Fearing the worse, he slowly brought his left ear down to his mouth, while observing his chest. He was relived to hear the meager, but steady breathing of the unicorn. Percy noticed the unicorn's broken leg. He pointed his horn at the blue pony's leg, and with a concentrated blast from his horn, he began to see through the pony's skin, straight to the bone.

"What can I do...?" It was the brown pegasus from before. "To help?"

The sudden interruption instantly broke his X-ray spell. Percy swallowed back an influx of frustration. He was about to tell the pegasus off, then he suddenly remembered. "Go an' fly over ter' the airship', right." Percy ordered. "Yer will spot a pair of twins, pull th' one that is injured out in th' open. Quick!"

The Pegasus flew out into the open, and Percy resumed his spell. After a few seconds of searching, he found out that the blue unicorn's Fibula was broken. Percy was slightly relived, it could have been much worse. But the injury still needed tending to.

Percy ceased the spell, and quickly found two large branches, and broke off pieces and fragments form the branch, until it reached desired size. Tossing them away, he ran towards the airship's air sac, and tore a off a long strip with his teeth. Levitating all three objects besides him, he trotted up to the hurt unicorn once more. Percy carefully placed both branches against the lower half of the blue pony's leg, then wrapped the strip of air sac once around his leg, and another over his neck, and around his back. He finished by tying a tight knot in the fabric. Now done, Percy sighed, and sat down on the ground.

"Two dahn', bout' two million t' go"

He reluctantly leaped to his hooves, and ran towards, yet another injured pony.

Sparks was still panting from the crash, his body still in a state of adrenaline and near-shock from the crash. He glanced over to Valen and nodded. "Da... I th-think I'll be fine," he said, his Stallongrad accent now a bit more apparent. Sparks couldn't help but feel somewhat in awe of the young foal that sat next to him; for someone so young and clearly afraid, he had shown great courage in running back into the crash and helping the survivors, even if his efforts were somewhat wasted.

He glanced back out towards the crash, pleased to notice that the majority of the ponies seemed to be well clear of the crash. It seemed that the military ponies were those still in enough shape to provide assistance to the wounded and those otherwise unable to assist. If he could, Sparks would have instantly leaped to his hooves and offered any help he could. Of course, much to his frustration, he was currently infirm and unable to provide any assistance.

He pulled his tool belt off and opened it, inspecting its contents and sighed in relief to discover all of his tools were there, including some extra warm blankets which could prove to be immensely useful. After all, winter was coming.

He turned back to Valen and said, "Spasibo - I mean, Thank you for the help... M-my name is Sparks. What is your name?"

Serendipity sat there on the mountainside, motionless for a while. Her body felt so weak. Even the searing pain of all her injuries felt numb through the lack of overall strength she had left in her battered body. Aside from her clearly broken wing, that is; it hurt like nothing she had ever felt before. After enduring it for a while, however, she realized it wasn't going to kill her. Serendipity was a lot of things, but she wasn't any kind of crybaby. Though the pain was blinding, she did her best to collect herself and endure.

The lavender mare shifted herself so that she could see what was happening. Some of the passengers had managed to hold the ship still to allow the rest to escape. Their grip had now slipped and the airship was anticipating its final plunge into the jagged, rocky abyss below. Looking from face to face as everypony frantically dealt with the events, Serendipity found the smallest of smiles. She had been confused about how this could happen to Las Pegasus' luckiest mare, but now it all made sense.

They were injured, but they were alive! They were alive after a high altitude airship crash. The odds of not just one pony surviving that but over everypony onboard, however? It wasn't a bet the experienced croupier would ever consider banking on to say the least. Yet here they all were, out of the smoldering wreckage and alive. And it was all because of her, of course. Her limitless luck had saved the life of everypony onboard, whether these ponies recognized it yet or not. She'd have to make sure they all thanked her properly later on, but for now, she just wanted the respect she was owed.

"Hey, my wing is broken! If one of you ponies who knows what they're doing would come look at it, that would be just fantastic," she called out insistently, if not quite at her full volume.

Rolling Thunder motioned for the medic pony to move on and treat the other survivors.  He had noticed several of them had quite serious injuries and needed treatment urgently.  The medic pony scrambled off and Rolling Thunder began to assess the situation

He began to look around and take  in every detail of the location.  Immediately he began to plan on how to keep everypony safe until rescue would come. "the first thing we'll need is a shelter" he muttered to himself, before he shouted, "Could any capable ponies who are not busy please come forward so we can make a plan for shelter and other necessities " and waited for any response.

Timbre Swing came to a few minutes later, groaning gently. His head thumped with the beat of a thousand bass drums, which would have been fine if they actually all beat to a tune, and not just trying to keep him sprawled in the dirt and snow. He managed to get up, finding his hat off to the side, upside down. He reached for it with his magic, only to find himself burnt out for the time being. Grunting, the Fancy pony just reached out and stuck the snow-filled hat on his head and got up all the way. He looked around at the ponies gathered here and there, and it seemed like every last pony had made it out pretty much intact.

"Je suis bien, merci pour m'aidez," he mumbled in his native tongue to nopony in particular, the sarcasm evident in his voice as he thanked them for helping him. Having been temporarily knocked out, he hadn't known that Percival had given him a hoof.

A pony shouted for help with shelter. Given that Timbre knew absolutely nothing about medicine, and his magic was spent, he trotted over. "I, uh, cannot do much, but I can 'elp," he explained to Rolling Thunder.
