Appleloosa Ideas for Appleoosa and the surrounding area up for grabs!

So, Appleoosa hasn't been super populated yet, and there are tons of wild-west conventions, cliches, puns and items based on historical fact that would apply well to it. I have three characters there, but they're school age and there's no way i can implement everything I would want to.

These are businesses/occupations that would typically be in a frontier town:

  [*:1ku2dr8p]Pony Express: while we typically see pegasi as the main mail ponies in Equestria, there might be call for ponies to brave the Griffin Lands to deliver mail, particularly to areas less friendly to equines. A pegasus would be knocked out of the sky, but a smart pony, under the cover of darkness might be able to take on this dangerous job

Generally, a tiny, new town would either have JUST the general store, or would have the general store + drygoods, but probably wouldn't have all three types of specialty stores as well as a general store. Unless of course the town was divided and the owner of one or more stores was a known scoundrel in the eyes of half the town

These are the types of businesses that would be just ust outside of town, a little further away from the prying eyes of the Sherrif:

Also, I have a rough (crossover) idea about an ancient pony city buried in the middle of the desert. Story goes, the desert used to be a lush forest before rapid weather changes because of the Pegasus movement caused it to dry up. This city will be a landmark for my crossover RP involving Spyro, where the Painted Pinto was still lush. Maybe, we can create some kind of senario for 'treasure' hunters. However, I don't know if it would be considered Crossover or not, since this desert-type atlantis isn't canon to the show.

I LOVE this idea! If this becomes a Crossover RP, I have two additional characters who could be of great assistance to the cause!

Getting back to the subject of Appleloosa, in the area of 'tourist traps', the town certainly has the potential of being a 'tourist haven' in Equestria. After all, there is a train station there for passengers to arrive at and Braeburn seems to be the de facto welcoming committee. I could see Appleloosa having thriving hotels (in the wild west tradition) as well as a souvernir stand or two.

In West Virginia, we know all about 'tourist traps'. There's a small community in a county north of me who's claim to fame is having the 'World's Smallest Church". It's a functioning church, tourists visit it and from time to time, people get married there (usually as an outdoor wedding beside the church). Perhaps the town could serve as a Rodeo Center or have some other unique tourist attractions for ponies to come and see.

My friend Boss Hoss has opened Madam Bistro's Bed and Breakfast operated by the lovely mare Madam Bistro.

Also new in town is famous Pioneer/Western author Louise LaMare. I plan on her becoming a 'love interest' for Sheriff Silverstar.

I hope this is an idea that's not too late, but Ive been reading my way through all the RP posts to get caught up on events and have been noticing a LOT of threads where a shop first opens. Madam Bistro has only been open a few days by the time of "Night of the Comet" and does need some helpstaff or regular customers.

Should I go ahead and start a thread of her first day open and advertising for help?

The Roadhouse sounds like good old fun, and Dusty needs some ware to kick back. So I'm thinking of having some thing like that being his "home" if he is not pulling his train or hanging out in the jail he well be in some thing like that wasting what bits he has.

He has no true home so it's the must fitting for him to be in a more outlaw like bar must his time, it feels like home to him.

Anyways, it seems like there's lots of good ideas among us. Don't be afraid to start new threads and PM Appleloosans for their character's involvement.

I have a female dragon character named Pixie (pending approval), which is a saloon singer and what you can call "body piercer" (she can pierce ponies' ears, sell accessories, and pierce every single spot your pony asks her to!). She lives in a room found in the said saloon, so do you think she could live in Roadhouse Saloon in exchange for a few songs sang there and piercings to the travellers?
